Many items fail to come into focus. Pictures are extremely low res. When it fails to work, error messages are unhelpful. Tells me I have no internet connection when the problem is most likely their server. Thought it would work better on my brand new iPad but this was wishful thinking.
Update a year later: DemocratChroneNewspaper still stinks. And the content it delivers has been becoming increasingly meaningless, as they expect me to get news and sports info elsewhere. I may finally pull the plug on my subscription, but what to do about the Funnies?
And a few months later: The D&C company is unresponsive to any complaints concerning DemocratChroneNewspaper. Some of their employees don’t even know the distinction between their website and DemocratChroneNewspaper. A thoroughly frustrating experience. Down to one star.

DemocratChroneNewspaper used to run fine with IOS but since the update to 14.0.1 it crashes constantly. I called phone number provided for their help desk two weeks ago only to be told that they are working on it. Honestly if they had a 0 rating for this review at this point I would select it. We pay them monthly for this garbage but was not offered a refund or adjustment in any way. If they don’t fix it soon I will cancel my subscription and I’m sure many other people will probably do the same thing. You would think that at a time when everyone is struggling to keep their businesses alive they would jump in with both feet to correct this problem.

The latest app revision introduced a major problem. It is now almost impossible to scroll up on the screen to see the bottom of the page in landscape mode. This new app version instead either pages back or forward a page. It's nearly uncontrollable. This happens on two iPad's Pro in our household. It's infuriating. It takes us twice as long to read paper.

Gannett is trying to convince customers that they've "gone digital". Not!! Fix the bugs!

DemocratChroneNewspaper rarely works right. Opening DemocratChroneNewspaper frequently get internet not available messages when internet is functional for all other devices and apps on said device I am using. When enlarging the page the page forward functions disappear & can only be restored by exiting DemocratChroneNewspaper . All pictures are lost when using DemocratChroneNewspaper function to read a specific article.

And now as of January 1st DemocratChroneNewspaper is not working at all. Don’t waste your time installing DemocratChroneNewspaper.

DemocratChroneNewspaper worked great for a while after an upgrade, but now it's back to being buggy. Won't load, says it's offline when it's not. When you can get it loaded, The pictures and articles are be too blurry to read. I'm paying money for this subscription and like to read it in this format as to the short attention span articles of the other online app. Also, am wondering why know one from DemocratChroneNewspaper developers are responding or addressing complaints.

I loaded ios14 a couple weeks ago and ever since DemocratChroneNewspaper is not working on my iPad. It will randomly remove all content on the page I’m reading , and/or randomly shut down DemocratChroneNewspaper . I only have the digital access to the paper. My wife’s iPad had not been upgraded to ios14 and does not have the same problems.
I have no problems with any other app. Get it fixed

When opening an article it will appear briefly then DemocratChroneNewspaper crashes. Have to restart DemocratChroneNewspaper many times to read the paper. So far DemocratChroneNewspaper will restart and I can go to the original article without an issue... but going to the next article will crash DemocratChroneNewspaper at least 50% of the time.

I decided to be a better eco citizen and read the D& C on my ipad to save a few trees and the added energy for delivery. DemocratChroneNewspaper works well most of the time. I have had frustrating freezes as others have noted.

My biggest gripe is how often DemocratChroneNewspaper forces me to sign in. A raoyal pain in the you know what! Only I can get into my iPad. Why the constant harassment? At the very least include the finger print reader! I have hundreds of passwords... Having to look one up every other time I use DemocratChroneNewspaper is beyond annoying.

Content aside, I like the way DemocratChroneNewspaper mimics the actual newspaper page. Getting the USA Today national news bonus is great given the more local focus of the D&C. Occasionally the wrong edition loads, usually yesterday’s USA Today, which s just an annoyance assuming the reader has basic navigation skills. My biggest wish is an easy way to jump back and forth to the other display style, which I occasionally use but have to log into separately, and I never remember my credentials!

DemocratChroneNewspaper works fine when I’ve used it but the content is very very liberal and the included USA Today must be being proofread by the DNC and then approved by the Biden Administration and that’s why I don’t rely on it for any semblance of fairness or accuracy. Walter Cronkite, though a known liberal was fair in his reporting and would be appalled by the media today so try hiring some conservatives as 75,000,000 proved you’re missing a very large market segment.

I like DemocratChroneNewspaper and appreciate the ability to read digitally when I’m on the go. I do hope, however that DemocratChroneNewspaper gets updated to support the full screen of the iPhone X.

That would be a much better experience as I lose a bit of the screen to black bars at the top and bottom.

Enjoy and look forward to reading daily. News itself is somewhat dated especially the Sports section and local and national news taken from other news sources that I read such as USA Today and the Daily Messenger

I never thought I’d enjoy reading news on-line, not I really think you’ve got it just right!
Ever since I was a patient in Highland Hospital, I’ve enjoyed picking @ choosing what I read!
I still like Saturday & Sunday hard copy, but think I like this service.

I downloaded the new version of DemocratChroneNewspaper yesterday, 10/9, and it now works great, like it used to prior to IOS 14. Good work with the fixes. I enjoyed reading the paper online this morning (which I had to since our weekend delivery didn’t happen).

I updated to IOS 14 a couple weeks ago and DemocratChroneNewspaper went downhill as it kept kicking back to my phone’s home page as soon as I opened an article. The only consistent way to read anything is to expand the page view which I don’t find user friendly. This morning I upgraded to 14.1 with the hope things might improve but they did not. Maybe it’s my iPhone 7 that is the problem but DemocratChroneNewspaper worked until I went to 14.

I recently updated to 13.2.2 and DemocratChroneNewspaper is prone to freezing where you cannot scroll or do anything. I have to shut down DemocratChroneNewspaper to make it functional. This morning a couple articles continuously froze so I had to expand the page view to read anything. The restarts do take me back to the page that I was on but this is very frustrating.

January 2nd: New problem today. DemocratChroneNewspaper will not recognize my internet connection so I can only see editions prior to today. I tried the web interface and it is the same thing. I even rebooted my internet to make sure it was ok. All along I had been able to use other apps and websites with no problems. You have an issue with the interface. Please correct it so I don’t have to request a credit.

We enjoy being able to read the paper at the same time. One with the actual printed paper delivered daily and I with the electronic version on my iPad.

I can not start my day until I read the D&C newspaper first thing in the morning. It’s important that I know exactly what is happening in the City or Rochester, County of Monroe, State of New York and Federal Government and the D& C provides me with this information daily.

So very pleased with your new layout where I can read not only the D&C but a host of other papers as well. What a nice feature. I especially like to look at some of the smaller town papers.

I like DemocratChroneNewspaper. I don’t miss playing hide and go seek with my printed newspaper every morning. Our delivery person apparently was unable to get our paper even remotely near my front door.

At first I wasn’t sure that I would like getting the paper online but now I enjoy it immensely. It is very handy to carry with me when I don’t have time to read it in the morning and I can access it on vacation. Also I can copy articles or send them to friends just by touching a few “buttons”. Swiping around the paper is so convenient.
Also I enjoy getting the USA Today at the same time as my local paper.

We are long time subscribers and prefer the print addition, especially for the comics. We travel for the winter and I am thankful I can continue to follow our local news anywhere we go.

My wife and I now winter in warmer, not-so-white climes. Since our paper subscription to the D&C comes with the online format we’ve been able to stay connected to our community. We really like the ability to printout individual articles, or puzzles, to enjoy later on.
