Spectrum SportsNet Reviews

After so many complaints they finally upgraded SpectrumSportsNet which is nice but they clearly missed highlights of what was actually needed and wanted from most of its users. You need to have Chromcast, AppleTv and other mirroring capabilities. For this you deserve nothing more than a single star. Sad to see how many reviews saying the same thing and you don’t still miss the target.

I’m a Lakers fan and watch the games using SpectrumSportsNet while I’m on the go or at a friend’s house who doesn’t have the Spectrum Sports Net channel. If I’m watching on my iPad or streaming to an Apple TV, it stops streaming during every commercial break. So you have to completely close SpectrumSportsNet and reopen it to start watching again. This has been going on for over a year. You’d think they catch this and fix it but nope. They don’t care. I know it’s not just my login because I have friends that have the same issue. Terrible experience. It’s sad that this is the only way to watch the games while on the go.

I’d love to watch Lakers games using my paid Spectrum subscription. Unfortunately the stream quality is consistently garbage. My favorite part is when the audio and video doesn’t line up causing you to have to refresh the stream. Don’t worry though. Every time Spectrum will make you sit through a 60 second HD jack in the box advertisement before returning you to your 240p quality basketball game. If you want to watch the Lakers in HD, without feeling like you want to pound your head on the desk out of frustration, streaming illegally from reddit truly remains your best option in 2019.

The only saving grace for SpectrumSportsNet is that there is no other way for Laker fans to watch certain games. Otherwise, SpectrumSportsNet is complete garbage from design to usability to dependability. I’m certain if an engineer looked under the hood the CodeBase would be spaghetti using outdated tech. From a UX perspective it is among the worst I’ve ever seen in the 12 years of building award wining digital products.

Used to LOVE SpectrumSportsNet! But the airplay option kicks me out way too much. I used to be able to cast this to my TV, but that option is gone. Not too sure why I pay to watch the Lakers, but SpectrumSportsNet isn’t steady. 5 stars if I could cast again, which NEVER gave me ANY issues. Or if airplay was not so glitchy. Make an app for Apple TV users, this would probably fix everything. Jesus. We pay a lot of money for this garbage???!?? I reinstalled SpectrumSportsNet a million times too, didn’t help.

I’ve watched live Lakers games before thru SpectrumSportsNet by signing in with an AT&T Uverse account. Before my only complaint is somehow Apple Airplay always gets disconnected every time a commercial plays but now it won’t even show a live game. It just keeps buffering endlessly. Now I can’t watch any live game at all! This holds true in any of my devices and wether I use wi-fi or cell data! This is just unacceptable!!! I’m so disappointed with SpectrumSportsNet!!! 😡🤬😤

Regardless whether you have AirPlay built into your TV or have an Apple TV device, casting Lakers games to your TV is NOT possible currently. It will be stuck in the loading animation.

Spectrum claims to want app feedback but I’ve submitted multiple bug reports with no response, so a review it is.

I have not been able to watch anything live Lakers games or shows at all on SpectrumSportsNet for the past three weeks or so. It was fine before the last update, so I will attribute this bug to it. All it does is buffer and it never loads anything. iOS 14,8.1. Please fix this as many of us are missing many Lakers games.

SpectrumSportsNet gives me an “Unauthorized” message every few games even though I’m signed in properly and I’m unable to watch when this happens. I try different devices when this occurs and it’s the same issue on all of them. It’s so frustrating and disappointing. It’s never been a reliable app.

Great content (Go Lakers), but almost every time there’s a commercial break SpectrumSportsNet has issues. Prior to today it would just hang. Today the audio keeps playing but the video freezes. The only way to fix it is to force close SpectrumSportsNet and restart.

Would be 5 stars if not for this very annoying bug.

Love that they finally added support for Apple Play to my AppleTV.

It’s great that I can airplay from my iPhone to Apple TV but I still run into annoying functionality. If I move off SpectrumSportsNet it will eventually freeze so I just plan on not using my iPhone at all during a game. This is not the biggest deal in the world and I’ll live. In order to get it back I have to kill it, restart it, then my Apple TV just spins. I have to kill it again and it will usually work. I also sometimes get the maximum device error even though I’m the only one using SpectrumSportsNet .

Please please please let us get SpectrumSportsNet on AppleTV! All these issues could be avoided.

Any chance to include a radio feature when I’m in my car? Tough to have the video feed in spotty areas when I only need the audio

Watching Laker games indeed works on SpectrumSportsNet and it is fine for that need if you have a cable provider. For the basic use of watching Live games of the Lakers flawlessly from my own use, SpectrumSportsNet gets a 3 ⭐️ review. Maybe it should be a 4, but the experience ought to be vastly superior, such as AD’s skills!

No rewind, forward, or more conveniently is a “jump to Live” button since I noticed I’ll pause the game sometimes for a break but then I will want to watch live and not be minutes behind, unless that’s how I want to watch. To bypass that, the only option I noticed is to exit SpectrumSportsNet (double tap home button, swipe up) to reset and watch live again.

Fox Sports apps allow me to pause Angels baseball games live. Why not Lakers too?

BUG Report: Highlight videos will pause midway thru a video after scrolling a couple times thru the same video. There is no play button present after the scrolling, only the still image of where the scrolling stopped to. To get the same video to play again, I have to rewatch another 30 sec ad after I reselect on the same video to reset the bug!

Please catch up with Fox Sports, Spectrum devs.

Love everything, but crashes every time live starts. I used to be able to watch the channel on my TWC package here in Greensboro, NC, but now Spectrum does not offer that and I really miss the shows, so the new app appears to let me watch, but the crashing is very annoying, because I have to plan ahead to make quick alternate selection.

I enjoy watching the lakers on SpectrumSportsNet! The notifications are far more engaging than before. Keep up the great work!

Now we just need a dedicated app for the apple tv. Thanks for the airplay btw!! Keep up the good work.

I love that it is so easy to find the Laker’s live stream and that I am receive notifications at the start of the game. SpectrumSportsNet looks and feels so much better. Go Lakers!

I love SpectrumSportsNet! I always get to watch my Lakers even when I’m traveling out of town for work. It’s awesome to always be able to play the channel anywhere I go

New updated app seems to work better than before. I honestly still don’t see why you can’t stream to Apple TV, etc. You clearly need to make it happen based on other reviews. Only reason why I gave it 3 stars.

Cannot AirPlay only audio shows up. Takes forever to load even with fast wifi.

It automatically pauses after a few seconds. I mean, I can press play but then it’s not really live because it picks up where it left off. Also, sometimes there’s another glitch where it needs me to log in again. I can’t keep calling my sister for her spectrum password.

I tried deleting SpectrumSportsNet multiple times and redownloading it and resetting my device and it still crashes very disappointing.

The redesigned app is great! and just in time for the NBA season. Logging in has never been easier and the stream starts immediately when I open SpectrumSportsNet . 👍🏻

When the game goes to commercial break can you make sure it always resumes on time because the game resumes a minute after someone scores a basket
