Can’t watch on Apple TV or even mirror screens

It’s good to be able to watch penguins games if you’re in the viewing area, but it’s about time they made SportsNetPittsburgh compatible with Apple TV streaming devices. And if you won’t make it available on Apple TV, you could at least allow the video to be stream cast to linked devices. And if you wont do THAT, it would be nice if my lighting/hdmi adapter would transmit the video as one would expect. It seems you are intent on preventing your app users to view the content on a television or the display of their choosing. This in my opinion is either incompetence, or malice. One should never assume malice when incompetence is possible, but....

Horrible get with the times.

It’s COVID you cant sell every seat. But you can allow people to stream the penguin game for a price. Come on its 2021, Most basketball teams have their own channel you can can stream for a price. Countless TV networks have streaming service like: showtime, epix, BET, Cinemoi, Comedy Dynamics, The Country Newtork, Docudrama, Dove channel, Karoon Channel, Grokker Channel, Here TV, Hopster, Lion Mountain TV, Magnolia selects, Outside Tv features, Play kids, Sony LIV, true royalty, watch it scream, Up faith and family, We TV, Stars, Acorn, Cinefest, Covina On, Con TV, DOX, Flixlatino, Gallery, Hallmark, Hi-yah, IFC Filsm, Magellantv, Monsters and nightmare, noggin, pantya, shudder, stingray, Sundance, tumble books, warriors and gangsters, Allblk, VSIN...... But yet YOU DO NOT OFFER A STREAMING SERVICE. If only you were affiliated with a telecom company that would make it easier.... WAIT A MINUTE ITS IS CALLED AT&T Sports network. ONE OF THE LARGEST TELECOM COMPANY OUT THERE... COME ON GET WITH THE TIMES....

Doesn’t work for Pittsburgh!

I have ATT Sports Pittsburgh and downloaded SportsNetPittsburgh to watch the Pens. Prior to the Pens season it was working fine. Pirates games worked and other programming worked. Once the Pens season started NOTHING. All it does is load or give an error. This is both on the website and app and t all times of the day. I have emailed ATT Sportsnet Pittsburgh at least 3 times asking them about the issues and have received no response. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have NHL TV online streaming and it works pretty much flawlessly, other ATT Sports streams on there work all the time, but of course, I can’t use it to watch the Pens because I’m “in market”. So far, SportsNetPittsburgh is complete garbage and useless if you can’t even watch the games you pay to watch. I had high hopes for SportsNetPittsburgh. It’s 2018, there is no reason this can’t work reliably. Can someone from ATT please respond and fix the issue?

Poor Quality!

So excited to have mobile stream option for Astros and Rockets games, however the stream quality is so poor the games are almost unwatchable. Anytime rapid movement happens in the game the stream goes blurry making it impossible to follow the ball. So any hit and pretty much the entire basketball game is unwatchable. I don’t have issues with any other streaming app.

Also, why is there not an option to cast the stream to another device? Not that it really matters with the terrible quality, but again every other sports stream app has an option to cast....

The entire situation is a joke

I have a cable package for the sole reason of watching Pirates games. Your question might be, “why would you subject yourself to such torture”, and that would be a fair question. But what I really want to talk about is how unfair this whole thing is. Literally every network is available in some sort of streaming TV package except, of cours, for AT&T sports net. I have friends from Chicago and they literally didn’t believe me that you can’t watch Pirates games in Pittsburgh unless you get a cable package. So ok, fine...you got me AT&T and Mr. Nutting, I’ll get your antiquated cable. Hey, at least there’s an app to stream it!

Wait, no. Don’t do this to me! Verizon Fios and Comcast aren’t supported on the streaming service app. Ugh...

I have U-verse but need to stream while at work.

I have U-verse but I need to stream while at work. I am constantly having issues with logging in. I have been able to login through the mlb app but I guess that has now been taken away. I pay loads of money for the service but can’t get logged in online. Even though I know my password the first time I go to login it says I have tried wrong to many times. Now I have to wait three weeks for a temporary password to be sent to me via usps. This is only a month after having to do this prior. What other tech company has the usps deliver a temporary password?

Frustrating app so far. Downloaded 3 weeks ago to watch Astros games. Already an AT&T Uverse customer. Figured this would work well. All I am able to watch are infomercials. No go on Astros games always an error message if I try to access through SportsNetPittsburgh. However I discovered that if I go through my MLB At Bat app and follow link on Astros site to live broadcast it will bring up the games. So you need both apps to watch Astros. So if your interest is infomercials great app. If you want to watch Astros better get At Bat app too or no go.

Don’t waste your time downloading

Downloaded SportsNetPittsburgh to watch the Utah Jazz play because apparently my $240 a month to Comcast doesn’t allow me to stream AT&T SportsNet to my phone unless I am on my home WiFi.......because that makes any sense, if I am at home I am watching the game on my 65” TV and not my 4” phone screen but whatever. Downloaded SportsNetPittsburgh only to find out that Comcast is not an approved provider on the list. It is ridiculous to see how every provider wants to see how much deeper they can get their junk in the pot then the next guy!! Don’t waste your time downloading. Would give 0 stars if I could!

Access

The only reason it receives 1 star is there is not an option for zero stars. I have watched the Houston Astros religiously for 40 plus years. My wife and I recently decided to do away with satellite TV and go with streaming. The only provider that I can get ATT SportsNet on is FUBO. Which must be an acronym for horrible programming. They don’t even offer ESPN. My wife is terribly unhappy and I am quite scared this will be my last chance to watch the Astros. We attended the game Friday night for my sons birthday. It was great. The only way we will be able to watch in the future is when they play the Rangers and We can watch it on FOX. Please help

Incredibly disappointing

I didn’t want to believe the reviews that an app was that bad. Unfortunately I was wrong. You can only watch content on your phone or iPad. You can’t mirror your screen to an Apple TV. The sound will stream but the video will not. Seems ridiculous. Of course SportsNetPittsburgh is not available for Apple TV either. So much for watching the Pens or Pirates when traveling. Can’t believe with all the options to consume live sports content that SportsNetPittsburgh is so lacking. Perhaps it’s a blessing in disguise, the Pirates are terrible and the Pens may soon follow.

Region issues

This is a terrible app. I pay for sports net on my tv and the only time I can watch a game is when I’m in Texas....which means I’m home and can watch on my tv. I travel a lot and it always says I’m out of region. I tried it last night while in New Mexico and Arizona to watch the angels @ Houston and the southwest said I was out of region and I’m in the LA area now trying to watch this afternoon’s game and still can’t. These areas define and completely occupy the southwest so HOW am I out of region?!? I’m thinking going to the restaurant or pub for games will be the way to go next year instead of keeping this service.

By

Still terrible

Negative reviews related to contractual issues and out of market issues are valid. Another major annoyance is SportsNetPittsburgh makes me login at least once a week. I have no other streaming apps that continually make me login. The problems with this application have persisted for years and nothing ever changes. Don’t like it? All you can do is switch to somebody besides AT&T, and they are the only option for the Astros. They have a captive audience and they know fans won’t leave regardless how crappy their application remains.

False Advertising At It’s Best/WORST!!!

Hay AT&T... If you won’t give what you say you will then get out of SportsNetPittsburgh business!!!

I live in Houston. My cable TV provider is Comcast/Xfinity. And do you allow me to connect to Comcast/Xfinity here with your app??? Easy answer: NO!!!

I don’t care about your why nots. When you advertise during Astros games I watch on cable from Comcast/Xfinity at home that I can watch my Astros games “anywhere” with your app then I should!!! Right ???

Guess what... No if’s, no and’s, or no but’s allowed!! When I can’t, do what you advertise then to me that is cheesy false advertising.

Either allow Comcast/Xfinity customers to access EVERY Astros game or get out of SportsNetPittsburgh business!!! That’s my feelings!!!

The FCC and the Federal Trade Commission should investigate you for false advertising. And the BBB should give you a less than favorable rating for sure!!!

BOOOOO!! BOOO TO AT&T!!!!! BOOOOOOOO

This is literally the worst app on the face of the planet and is clearing being neglected by AT&T SportsNet, which is a horrible decision considering the current drive towards apps in viewing sporting events. I have HATED SportsNetPittsburgh for a long time and have used it only because I have to in order to watch the jazz. The latest bug is the audio only plays the on court audio, instead of the broadcasting audio. I realize this is probably some idiots job to switch it during the broadcast but it’s happened like 5 times this season already. BOOOOOOOOO!!! BOOOOO TO AT&T SportsNet!!!!! BOOOOOO!

Can’t use with Apple TV

It works IF you are geographically in the viewing area, and ONLY on your iOS device. Want to watch on your AppleTV? Too bad. You can’t. I don’t know if it’s DRM or what, but it displays black on the TV. Also doesn’t work with the Apple’s Lightning AV adapter via HDMI straight into the TV. Same thing, black screen. Disappointing.

The only reason I didn’t leave one star is because it seems to work well if you don’t mind watching on a tiny screen. AT&T Sports Net really needs an AppleTV or Roku app.

No Comcast XFINITY - Save yourself a download

Ahh the joys of the “free market” where we are forced to subscribe to the only provider that has service in the area. But wait! While XFINITY DOES carry AT&T SportsNet on cable, you CANNOT use it as a subscriber with SportsNetPittsburgh. That’s right, folks. Competition is still alive and well, locking down your favorite local sports teams so you can’t watch them on the go!

Remember when Comcast locked up the Rockets and Astros for 2-3 years so unless you subscribed to Comcast you couldn’t even watch them? Wasn’t that awesome said no one ever?!

Same type of garbage here. Save yourself the time unless you’re a UVERSE or DirecTV subscriber. Oh, but don’t think SportsNetPittsburgh is going to work properly just because you do. Get ready for so many crashes and buffering that you’ll swear you’ve been teleported back to 2003.

Trash app. Trash providers. Cut the cord.

Terrible - F grade

Not only do I pay for Xfinity, which carries this channel, I also pay at&t every month for my phone. I figured it would be no problem to use SportsNetPittsburgh in my basement which is set up for sports viewing, but not directly connected to the cable line. Because you know, it works for absolutely everything else. Sadly, I was trying to watch a Colorado Rockies game in this instance. It doesn’t surprise me though, as I’m dealing with 3 of the absolute worst organizations in their respective fields.

Negative feedback

Att has not taken time to address the concerns of users. User complaints and comments expressed two years ago are still an issue. Casting/airplay to another product should be available in 2020. Att continues to state they have an agreement problem but no mention on how they plan on fixing for their customers demanding a normal streaming experience in 2020. It’s a shame and wasted potential on an app.

Terrible excuse for a streaming app. No mirroring

People have wanted this for years and years and it’s finally here. I didn’t know it was possible for a streaming app to be this bad. I didn’t know not allowing it to mirror to your Apple TV was even possible yet here we are. I have endless amounts of streaming apps that allow that and this is the first that doesn’t. I travel a lot for work and have lots of down time at night. So I bring an Apple TV to mirror stuff with. This is the first one I won’t be able to do that with. Pretty pathetic

By

Can’t stream at all

I have seen many apps that don’t have air stream capability however for those I use the HDMI adapter to run on TV. I don’t know how but this designer has managed to block the picture when using the HDMI. Sound works, no picture. As soon as you exit SportsNetPittsburgh picture come back. Sad that big name AT&T is related to SportsNetPittsburgh. Fine if you just want to watch on you small phone screen.

By

Ignore the negative reviews

SportsNetPittsburgh works well and I have had no issues streaming Rockies and Jazz games on my iPhone and iPad. It is easy to navigate and both sound and video are excellent.

Almost all of the negative reviews are from Xfinity/Comcast subscribers who cannot access the content. These should be disregarded. SportsNetPittsburgh’s performance has nothing to do with Xfinity/Comcast’s inability to negotiate an agreement with AT&T. The negative reviewers must be the same people that leave poor reviews for the NFL Sunday Ticket app because it isn’t available to Xfinty/Comcast subscribers.

What has happened??

What in the world has happened to SportsNetPittsburgh?? I have used it for a few years now & it’s been great but for some reason this year it’s absolutely horrible! It constantly skips, freezes ALL the time then repeats what it has already played causing it to be behind even more than what it already is normally.

I don’t know what kind of changes or updates y’all have done or who’s idea it was to do it but that person either needs to be fired or needs to do more research on what they were trying to accomplish!

Garbage if you are Comcast Xfinity customer

The stupid rivalry between Comcast and AT&T is still in play. I downloaded SportsNetPittsburgh to watch Astros games when away from my home because I can’t use the Xfinity streaming app on the AT&T Sports channels away from my home network. Because I always stream on my phone where there is a perfectly good TV nearby. Comcast is not one of the many providers listed in SportsNetPittsburgh . This hurts Astros and Rockets fans and the teams need to step up and make sure their fans can access their games easily.

By

Worthless

I live in Texas and travel frequently for business. I pay for a U-verse subscription. I downloaded SportsNetPittsburgh to be able to watch the Astros games when I am away from home. After signing in on SportsNetPittsburgh I selected the Astros game and received a message that I was not able to watch the game because I was out of market. Well duh. If I was in the market I would turn on the TV. The purpose of SportsNetPittsburgh should be to watch the game when you are away. I am deleting SportsNetPittsburgh because it is of no use.

Tried watching Penguins game on Friday. VERY VERY poor picture quality. Very fuzzy and broken up. Also poor centerfield camera quality for Pirates games at PNC. What is the problem? How do I get good picture quality? Games are almost unwatchable.
