I've been playing this game a very loooong time (like 6yrs!!!) it used to be fun NOT anymore! You will NEVER have enough energy to collect all your items or complete quests! It's not like ppl have loads of time to play these games 24/7 (which you would have to be on this one all day every day to complete anything); So NEVER EVER having enough energy to collect all my animals, crops, flowers, buildings, fight monsters, grow aaand then cut down trees, crush rocks, make products (and collect them), upgrade buildings, advance the story, and then complete the new quests with even more unattainable requirements with unrealistic time limits, is absolutely completely FRUSTRATING IRRITATING AND AGGRAVATING!!! 😤😡

I'm at level 50 (top level u can get and top out at only 40 energy) and can't even finish these quests, can't even imagine if you were a new player. DO NOT pay for energy or gems the cost is outrageous and still not even worth it (won’t get you any further or closer to completing quests)! Let alone the gems it costs to get more energy in the store is absolutely ridiculous! Also, take into account, that I have 22 Alicorns and my 2 schools (completely upgraded) for extra energy and I still NEVER EVER EVER EVER have enough to accomplish what I need!! Ugh & Grrrrr, all the time! 😡😤😡😤😡

I'll change my rating when the developers decide to FINALLY make things more reasonable and attainable.

I often joke that I don’t know why I play this game when my life is already filled with so much work, but for some reason it is enjoyable. That is until they start adding in these quests that are difficult to avoid but almost impossible to achieve. At least for those of us who have other things to do during the day and can only get to the game 2-3 times a day. I have learnt to avoid a lot of tasks and challenges that take away important energy and resources from everything else! I decided to do the Fabled Faun story and here I am with 3 days left only on chapter 3! I’ve sent my knights to the meadow 4 times and twice they only came back with glimmer dust, once with only 1 seed! What a huge waste of all the energy it took to grow the wheat, make the bread make the simple feast and then send the knights. Just going to the meadow took me 2-3 days, for nothing! I still like the basic game, but the limited time challenges have been extremely frustrating. Especially because after they are over, at least for those that can’t complete them, you are left with a bunch of useless stuff you can do anything with.

They don’t give you enough energy to complete things on time. Now most of these games are designed to either take your money or time and that’s fine if goals are attainable. This game does not give you enough energy to complete your daily routines let alone the goals they set for you. It maxes out at 40 energies and that is not enough to do anything of real significance. Make the game become monotonous and boring and down right frustrating. I do not recommend game there are others out there which are much funnier and don’t require so much of your time d dedication. It also gets worse the more you level up and then the leveling up becomes much harder, meaning longer and longer. It is almost unreasonable the expectations they have for expansions and goals, I guess they are hoping for someone to invest money which is a no go for me on any of these types of games. But this one for sure is a pure waste of time in my opinion. Keep looking and don’t invest time in this game. Their “monsters” which you have to defeat also pop up way too much and force you to defeat them and waste even more energy before you can get back on task. Grrrrrr. What a waste of time this game was.

I have been playing this game for 9 or 10 years now and have really liked it. However, it has been increasingly difficult to play it, especially in the last year or so. Often it take two or three tries to get the game to load and open. This is accompanied by a screen asking me to check my internet connection. The internet connection is fine, it is the game that is the problem. Sometimes I go for a day or two or a week without the game being able to load. Another common issue is that after the game does open, you can do a few things and then the game freezes and rolls back to where it was when you opened it and you lose your progress. I know that these issues are not only happening to me, but also to the people who I usually interact with, my neighbors in the game. They stop playing for days and when they come back they say that they have been unable to get into the game during that time. My list of neighbors who actively play is dwindling because people are so frustrated with not being able to play when they want to that they finally just stop playing. A lot of the game play is based on timed events, and when you can’t load the game for several days and the event is 10 days long, starting the event is rather pointless. So, a fun game to play, if you don’t mind the frustration. It’s just sad and disappointing to long time players that the situation has gotten so bad.

I love this game. I’ve been playing it since it came out but it reset when I was signed out of my account so a few years ago, I had to start from scratch. That’s fine but everyone (from a few years ago!) is right. There’s so many flaws, including these stupid quests! You can only get so far then they stonewall you. At this very second, I’m on part 5 I think for this Goldilocks quest and I need to defeat two skunkupines but only one showed up. I keep battling the boars that show up but no skunkupine shows up; just another boar, which takes 8 energy. I barely have enough energy to do other things and I have 40 because I’m on level 48, I think.

The point is, I’m thinking of deleting this game or at least not playing any quests. This isn’t the first time I’ve complained about the game and gotten nowhere. If you’re thinking of downloading, be forewarned.

I like the game a lot but there should give more energy to play..not where you have to earn the energy or buy it....and I don’t like the tent you can take that away....to me it’s useless..I will not buy cabbages to get prizes.....also when I have purchased gems there have been a couple times that gems have gone missing and I have contacted support about it and they say I used it to example 80 gems for one gold nugget I WOULD NEVER SPEND 80gems on one piece...But I felt it was a waste of my time to argue with them so I let it go.....I also lost a huge amount of coins which I have no idea what happened to them...I had $79,400 when I went to bed that night and when I went into the game the next day I only had $23,400 and I have no idea what happened to my coins....Things like this are really FRUSTRATING...my main issue though is the energy they should give more energy and I have bought a couple things that will help with energy but it takes time......I feel like I sit and wait for my energy to replenish most of the day they should give 100 energy at a time so you feel like you are getting somewhere in the game..ESPECIALLY when you have things popping up and you have to battle them that use your energy and all you get back in return is maybe 2-3 energy...

I recently “came back” to this game, after transferring my game to another device (was unable to do so previously). I still really enjoy the artwork, storylines, and tasks. However, the special events seem too hard to completely finish. For some reason, the event “ drops” needed dramatically decrease, keeping me from finishing the last stage. I think a lot of players would prefer events that didn’t require 24/7 playing to finish. For example - my drop rate for the crossbones from the troll camp was about 20 -25%, so I was unable to finish the brooches. I realize that I could have purchased items to facilitate my progress, but I rarely make in app purchases. I also have experienced numerous instances of being “kicked out” of CastleStory and progress being lost, when I return. I will say that the customer service/help center is excellent - I had an issue with a Baron’s Tent prize disappearing, and they quickly resolved the problem.

Have put a lot of work and money into my kingdom and it is really interesting and that is why I keep playing the game. Have been playing this game for several years. Disappointed that all the goals are very difficult and you have to buy items to meet some of the goals. Also disappointed that the people do not listen to the players’ request. One example is the green dragon most players wanted. They made it first prize for a challenge; very unfair to the players; another item that is disappointing is the fact that they never give great freebies when we do the adventures-get tired of getting scarecrows, benches and other items I already have. And then there is the issues with bugs in a lot of the challenges-very frustrating. Now I pick and choose Kingdom goals to participate in. For long-time players there should be some appreciation for our continued participation.

I have been playing this game for a number of years and continue to do so. I also have spent a good deal of money on gems so as to take advantage of special offers. Today for the first time I sent a request to game support regarding the current event happening for thanksgiving. For the first time I am unsure what it is they want me to do to continue in the event as it appears I have already completed what it was I was supposed to do. Their response was “support does not answer gameplay questions or give gameplay hints”. It doesn’t appear to me they even took into consideration there maybe a bug or an error occurring in the event and this is maybe why I can’t go any further.
I found this insulting as I was not asking for hints on how to play. I simply am questioning whether the event is working correctly. If support isn’t there to assist what are they there for? To just simply close your support request without further looking into the issue is not what I consider to be support.
I downgraded my five star rating to 3 as a result. If you look for support from this group, you may as well not make the effort.

I really enjoy this games but there really should be more energy!
The energy given is way too little to play with as you increase your land and levels. Your level and kingdom increase so should your energy level!you purchase all these extras that are too much gold to buy in the first place and they give you 5,6 energy max it’s not worth spending all that $$ buying golds purchase these stuff that give very little energy. There should be more time given to complete the timed quests. We have lives and work this is suppose to be fun and a way to relax. I really love this game very enjoyable but please make it so we have more energy and I’ll give it a 5 star rating

I’ve been playing for years and I really like playing Storm 8 games because they create interesting characters, cute characters, fun new tasks etc. I have been saving for an apple tree for such a long time but something weird happened today and I accidentally pushed an add time button TWICE which used up my gems so I sent them a message but I just went on and it happened AGAIN! I went from 78 gems to like 18. I switched the game off every time right after realizing as it was in process mode but it sucked up all my hard earned gems. I wish that adding time button had a two step process that had the button in different places for when we get into tapping these accidents weren’t so easy to make when we are trying to pummel a monster. I guess I get pretty into it! Thank you guys for creating a game that I continue to want to play even when I’m irritated lol.

I HAVE to rate it highly because no matter how mad I get with the endless glitches (never put too many things in your kingdom at once or take too many things out!) and them giving us cool stuff then taking it away later to make the game harder, I can’t get myself to delete it. I think the thing they could do to make us old users happiest is let us go to level 99 instead of 50, with all the continuing bonus of being able to level up. I often go on sprees and during one of these I’ll always spend upwards 20 dollars. Events can’t be won without real money so if you want cool stuff… (yes, even if you babysit the game). Positives… well, plenty of stuff to do, I like the theme and it’s almost too much fun. They know how to make you spend!!! But they always add new stuff so even if you uncover all the land they will just add more or put new events or quests or changes to make you keep playing. So, very fun and long. You can enjoy it for a long time… especially if you don’t spend money because you’ll be going snail pace trust me!

This game is fun in many ways, but when you first start there is a constant state of lack. You never have enough energy (you have to wait for it to regenerate over time or buy it) or enough “materials,” so this game can teach you patience if that is something you struggle with. The problem with this game is that it is owned by Storm8, which is an incompetent business. They have zero idea how to run a business. The game and other games by this company have many glitches that have existed for years and never been fixed. They either don’t know how to fix it or just don’t care. They also have a forum that players can access to get and share information. The problem is that they don’t allow players to openly discuss problems, glitches, or complaints. They run the forums with an iron fist and don’t allow you to question them. If you question, you get banned. So, yes, game can be fun, but expect glitches and a company that doesn’t care in the least about players.

I’ve been playing this game regularly for many years, and for the most part, it remains my favorite game. One I play regularly. I’ve even created a Facebook group for members who want a quick way to ask questions, share stories and when needed, grumble about perceived issues. It’s grown to 240 members (Not a huge number, I know. It’s growing but is still small enough that you can usually get your questions addressed and not feel lost trying to find what you want to know from the Forums. That said, we, as a group would love to see more shortcuts to expanding our Kingdoms, be it a short-term reduction in the amount of Trade Tickets or Expansion Tickets needed to produce Expansion or the much needed Explorers Permits, or the time taken to create them. Our kingdoms have opened up in huge ways, which is awesome, a little help from time to time in expanding, we’ve agreed, would be a really nice incentive to play more each day!

I do like this pass time game, but a LOTS of time while using my energy I will touch another object that is not ready and it will use my gems to make it ready, before I realize my gems gone that I've saving to do something else😡 very frustrating especially if you're at work and just clicking to collect coins and accidentally use gems if it's not time to collect. They should be a pop up saying " are you sure you want to use gems to speed it up" and then when we have (like every 2weeks) that goal to do and get energy, they say it expire 2pm and then no think I have time to do it before that time they say it's expire 😡. I got so upset like twice this happened to me . I even send them a email but no response and this is like 2 months. Still play, but will not make no more purchase. And please when given us those special events, PLEASE make it achievable. Or extra energy. For crying out LOUD . I Love this game tho, you should try it I know they working to make it more fun😊

This game is great and I love it. I haven’t had any problems with it the entire time I’ve had it, and I’ve had it for a while. I only wish they would fix two things:
1. Make it to where it always asks twice before spending gems. I have no idea how many times I’ve accidentally spent gems when I didn’t want or need to. It actually just happened to me and it’s the whole reason I’m writing this review. I don’t even have enough gems to buy stuff I actually want because of this.
2. Please make the waiting time for the energy shorter or give us more energy to start with. It takes a long long time for it to be at full energy again, and I’ll get super bored waiting for it. Without energy there are only a few things you can do in the game.
Other than that, this game is amazing and I love it! Please fix what I mentioned though.

It’s a really great game! Every time you unlock something it shows you to a magical majestic area with pink waterfalls and whatever else. It reminds me a lot of the movie “bridge to terabithia” where they showed creatures and whatnot, the game is kind of like that and I enjoy it! I love seeing other sides of the forest.

However the games a ripoff about money, gems, energy. I don’t understand why we are limited to energy when we have so many buildings to collect from. On top of that the requirements to unlock more land are more ridiculous each time you move more and more towards better “land” if I’m making sense. Like more towards the other creatures that come with land. The royal buildings are insanely expensive as well.

I just think the requirements for this game need to be fixed and buildings and lands need to be easier to buy.....

Is it irritating at times? Sure. Does it have glitches? It does. Does it sometimes make unreasonable demands? Yeah, probably to get money out of players. I still play it compulsively. I’m quite proud of my kingdom and its Flying Steampunk Raccoon.
This is an energy-based Castle Building/Adventure Game. Your character, who shall be referred to by everyone as “Ruler,” no matter what you name them, awakens in the Glimmering Forest and encounters a melodramatic antagonist, Baron Pfeffernot. The Ruler’s goal is to build their kingdom while uncovering their mysterious past. They make friends with other characters, such as Ivy the Potion-maker and Old Thomas the Scholar, through expanding the Kingdom and completing quests.
Many of the recent complaints deal with timed optional side-quests. These *are* becoming difficult to compete for free. The last one involved using great quantities of a rare item (gold nuggets) to win the “adventuring prize” associated with the side quest.
It’s still an enjoyable game, and you can play it around kids without any concerns over content. And there’s a Flying Steampunk Raccoon.

Hello, I have read some reviews they sound crazy missing gems ,missing money ext . Well it’s true all true lol the game resets you have to sign out of game when done don’t keep it on idol , always close out the game .It make things much better trust me , I have been with this game for 11 years . I lost a few accounts and had to start completely over again always make sure you have a Facebook account so you can’t lose your game I lost 2 games lol I still still stop bye and visit them . Please give it time they will get back to you in about 3 / 5 days make sure everything matches email account everything they can go back to time and date review what happened and they will most likely give you a refund if it was not the games fault , I woke up and lost over a thousand gems 🥵I was freakin out , I had no clue where they went what happened nothing all I know is contacted then ASAP gave them date and time 2 days later everything was back in my account ty Storm 8 ,please give them time and make sure you get a ticket # for your case !!! Hello! I’ve been playing a very long time! I’ve hit level 50 on two different games. Unfortunately the first game I was unable to get it after
my Ipad died and I had to get another. Castle Story was the only game I couldn’t get back. So I started anew.
What I think would be nice is being able to gift some different items. Example - more items to choose to gift. I would love to see storm water as one choice since there are so many things that require it and it’s hard to get enough for anything. Maybe raise the energy to at least 40.I still wish I could get my original game back.
But overall I absolutely love playing this game or I wouldn’t have been playing for as many many many years that I have! I wish you all the best in this new year!
