Helping me keep up with the literature

I am absolutely loving Prime. It is exactly what I need for keeping updated with publications in my field of interest. I like the push notifications to let me know of new additions to my searches. One improvement I'd make is the ability to delete irrelevant stuff from my lists (perhaps another option when you slide to tag an article). I recommend this to anyone who regularly uses pubmed. Even allows you to log in to academic libraries (if you are registered users) to get full texts. Much better than the readcube app.

Must have app for each researcher!

In a current world of literature overload, Prime is blessing. Prime keeps me updated on recent articles in the field of my interests. The note taking app helps me recors my ideas for future brainstorming. One change which I would like is a go to favorite option in Prime so I can glance through those articles as needed.

Useful for Tracking specific health concern

Prime provides access to journals from around the world. this app helps me understand more about choices that need to be made.

Be kind to yourself. Nobody can do it all. Caregivers must take care of themselves first.

Excellent access & information

I have been using this going on 2 years, and it has helped me immensely. My Shih Tzu is 13 & has Cushing’s Disease, with a tumor on his left adrenal gland. The articles that I can access on here have shown me ways to blend traditional medicine with Chinese medicines, homeopathic, and other alternative medicine. I don’t know how I could have done this research without this site!!

Cannot save, print nor share articles.

Prime is good for searching for articles. But it is worse than using Safari since you cannot save, print nor share the articles you found. The information is stuck in Prime. You can't save it for reading on a Mac or other device. For this egregious deficiency, Prime only deserves 2 stars. It is less useful than searching on medline in Safari.

One of the best apps for researches

Prime is easy to follow and keeps me up to date with all the gazillion journals I’m following on a daily basis.

Prime would have been perfect if:
1. It was faster to navigate. It takes some time to load articles from a journal. I wish it would load much faster.

2. To include a PubMed link to the article and not just the PubMed article’s ID number. This way it’s much easier to share articles with colleagues.

Thanks 🙏

Great app

It is a good app and easy to use. Saving articles and searches can be a little frustrating if you haven't used Prime before. It is simplistic and covers a lot of journals, some free and some you have to pay for, just like any other sources.

A fabulous advance in rapid focus of any medical research question

I have used med line for literally 30+ years and have loved how in recent years the functionality of the 'Entrez' interface has allowed a rapid relational access to articles with similar key words and MESH terms. The interface for Unbound Medline's access to articles is smooth and elegant, allowing rapid scanning and review of abstracts. But what gives this a '5' stars in my estimation is the incredibly useful 'grapherence' feature - this takes scanning for relevant articles to a whole new level of rapid and focused capability to hone in on key articles. It is a citation index and 'permutaterm' (for those chronologically gifted folks like me who remember this) function all rolled into an easily understood and easily learned visual interface. Only drawback: not all articles have the grapherence feature. Truly a great product.

Brings medical research home

I have found Prime incredibly useful in researching therapies and treatment for Down Syndrome which is my area of interest. The interface is simple and easy to use which may sacrifice more complex academic searches but that is not what I use it for. This brings medical research into the non-geek arena. I like the feature to save favorites and the links between different articles. It also takes you directly to full text when it is available. I have been looking for an app that does what unbound does for the longest time and am relieved to have found it. A plus in my book . If they add too many features it would make it unwieldy. I like it just the way it is!

Easy

Quick and simple way to get desired information from the PubMed database.

Great research tool!

I have enjoyed using this app for at least seven years now. One of its most useful options is its grapherence program. It allows me to look at the abstracts of articles upon which the title I am reading are based AND any articles that have subsequently referred referred to that same title. I can also get some idea as to the influence of a given reference by the number of articles that refer back to it.

Best App On My Phone

Kind of like having the Library of Alexandria (of health) available at the touch of a fingertip on your phone. I spent years searching pubmed… but Prime has made my amateur health fact-finding adventures more enjoyable, productive, and fast. I can go and do things in four or five or six other apps, and then come back to Prime, and it still is in the exact same place where I left it, whether a search, a paper pdf, or whatever. My Apple iPhone Podcast App doesn’t even do that! A+
