MDWFP Hunting & Fishing Reviews

Not sure about the problems that hindered the enforcement of game laws and rules at the upper sardis WMA for the last 5 plus years. There were deer being harvested that were not legal in antler size and hunters harvesting more than bag limit allowed. The last 5 years around the bagley lake i personally have not witnessed the presence of a game warden. Therefore the dear population took a heavy hit. Also the reserve area that were marked with blue markers was opened to hunting think in 2016 season with no posting on any of checking stations. This opening i believe was a mistake for it helped deplete the deer population. The local hunters were the only people i met that new restricted area was legal to hunt.I personally called the office in Jackson and they said they had no knowledge of this opening and advised me not to enter. I hope to not offend any one but always had great luck in this area for years last year you were lucky if you could find a fresh track crossing the sandy roads.

Apps seems great so far, but I would REALLY love it if it had a function to replace the daily use cards you have to fill out before every hunt. Something like that should be easy to make and would be a huge time saver since MDWFP is already converting that info to digit data.

The application did not remember my login information and I was required to reenter it. Then it asked for my hunter safety course information. I do not carry this with me. That is the purpose of using an app. I have hunted many times prior and get the emails to renew my license. This should be saved with fish and wildlife and connected to MDWFPHuntingFishing , so I do not need to reenter all the information and look up the hunter safety course again. This is very frustrating and requires a great deal of unnecessary time. The rest of the application seems to work fine.

Renewing license just takes you to the website. Should be all in one. If you click on some of the icons the “back” button disappears and you have to close out MDWFPHuntingFishing to go to the home.

Other than those things, MDWFPHuntingFishing looks great, shows a lot of important information, and it’s easy enough to navigate. 4 stars!

Y’all have got to fix this bug that keeps signing me out. It seems like everytime I need to show someone my license I got to re-enter my info and I don’t know my license # by heart because who knows their license #. Love MDWFPHuntingFishing but man it can really screw you over from the bugs and I’m not sure a warden would take my side because of an app failing me.

Love being able to have licenses with me as long as I have my phone, but think it would be better if I could add my boating (boating class) licenses too. So I’d have it all in one. Also- and/or have my spouses licenses on my phone incase they forget their phone. Just suggestions for future..

I have bought daily passes before. Your app will not let me use portal past the birthdate field. All other fields are gray. This has been since before Father’s Day. After my last bad review, you issued an immediate update, which didn’t work either. The local bait and gun stores gave in to the unmanned Walmart desk, so it seems that fishing licenses have become unattainable. I should bill you my work in repeatedly reporting this matter. I should be issued a complimentary 100-year amnesty pass.

I think this should have been done years ago!! Awesome job at moving forward (digital) and making my hunting experience more convenient. Sometime I would have to drive the opposite way that I needed to go to turn in my slip after hunting WMA. Good job and more importantly good luck with the progress.

One of the most crucial components of fish behavior is water temperature.
Could that be added to the report, please?
If not in the fishing report, somewhere/anywhere...

Mandatory reporting of wild turkey harvests several years ago was very wise and MDWFPHuntingFishing works exactly as intended...well done

You guys have assigned me different MDWFP #’s for my hunting and fishing license, I can access auto renewal on my hunting license, but not on my fishing license, which somehow got turned on. I didn’t do it, and I will refuse it on me credit card the next time you bill me. I should be able to access my account on the web using my MDWFP # and should be easily able to control auto renewal on my app! Beginning to look a little like you guys are scamming!

Very handy. I like the license feature in case I forget my wallet or its too much trouble to get to at the time of I get checked. I can just bring it right up in my phone. The fishing report is also handy. Just wish it would update daily.

Thanks for bringing MDWFPHuntingFishing back! It’s an amazing resource for hunters and fisherman. It’s basically like having 4 or 5 apps in one. I’ve got to say, this newer version looks much better and it’s easier to use as well. Keep up the good work! 👍🏼

I love that I can keep up with my licenses on here but would love to be able to add them to my passbook so they are available offline when I do not have cell service off in the woods.

Need tools for Coastal fishing such as tide, moon phase, & weather on one screen.
Also on the settings screen there’s a picture that’s covering part of the screen. Can not access all items on this screen

MDWFPHuntingFishing is very easy to use with my license information on my IPhone as well as WMA check in! Still finding other useful info as well!

MDWFPHuntingFishing is fairly easy to use but could use some more features like draw hunt application and status options easier wma links.

I just started hunting this past fall and spring down here. All the wardens are right there if you need them and extremely helpful. I will continue my conservation to the fullest in the state. Thank you for your professionalism!!

App seems to work great. Now if I could just get a deer. I have got to be the worst hunter of all. Paying for all these licenses and only 1 deer my entire life. Killed a lot of time but that is about it.

MDWFPHuntingFishing is useless if we can’t use it. Meaning: if it can be used to store our hunting license why not let it take the place of our hunting license. I got a ticket this past year from showing a (good for nothing) game warden my license on MDWFPHuntingFishing and he said I needed to have the paper copy. $400 in tickets and court fees is what MDWFPHuntingFishing has costed me so far good luck everyone.

Works great for the WMA’s as well as reporting a harvested deer or turkey. Only issue I’m having is the lettering has become very faded and is somewhat hard to read when your in the feeding times section or in the harvesting section. I’m sure it is just a bug that will be fixed in the near future.

MDWFPHuntingFishing was so easy to buy my hunting license. Just click through the easy process and your license can be printed or saved to you phone for easy access. Awesome!!

Being able to have your license on MDWFPHuntingFishing is very convenient. One less piece of paper to have to keep up with while hunting.

As a Mississippi hunter and fisher MDWFPHuntingFishing is really convenient. I can get my licenses on here check any and all regulations that I may need plus I just think it’s a cool thing that the game wardens have an app.

Good to know all is available so easily. Wish would have more pin point map available of government land lines available
