Better than any other

I have used HuntingPoints for the last month with and without the pro version and I will say that hunting points is better than any other app I have used. HuntingPoints also took the power of 6 apps from my phone and rolled it into one amazing app. I am now a lifetime pro subscriber! GPS is accurate within fewer ft than my Garmin. It’s super easy to add waypoints for game sightings, feeders, blinds, stands, tracks. You name it this apps got it. The wind, solar/lunar calendar, weather, all spot on and fabulous. The only thing I would love to see that would make HuntingPoints perfect is weather notifications based on location, for inclement weather, lighting strike advisory, or rainfall alerts. If HuntingPoints had those I’d say watch out to OnX cause they’d be losing an awful lot of business to HuntingPoints. 10 stars across the board!

Very cool BUT

I would like to share a link that brings my hunting partners directly to HuntingPoints and places the location on their map...not just the generic coordinates. If we all have HuntingPoints we can all share locations and save each other’s without any fuss.

You could almost make this a social app for local hunt groups.

Lots of functionality for free so I’m still giving 5 stars.

Confused

Downloaded HuntingPoints and thought I had a winner. But alas....another app where the developer has no input from actual users. For example there is way to input a location you want to preview. Apparently you have to go there first. And no way to contact the developer. Best of luck with this one.

Update- heard from the developer and maybe my review was not clear, so....There is no way to type in an address, town or other type location OTHER than being at your location of choice, coordinates (and who has those in their head?) or scrolling and swiping the map until you find it. As a hunter I like looking at my hunting area prior to going afield. Being able to input the town of my camp 3 states away seems to make sense. Other GPS apps have that function, please take note and update your app.

No Property Owner information

I paid for the annual subscription because I wanted the parcel info feature primarily. Once you pay, it provides no additional access to anything from what I can tell. Maybe my region is not covered yet, but that would be nice to know prior to spending money. I would like my money back.

EDIT:

I was able to find the landowner information. However, all of the information is incredibly outdated, making it almost useless for prospecting new hunting properties. The imagery is also fairly dated, as it shows the subdivision I live in being incomplete, which was completely full in 2016. Again, leaving HuntingPoints and the cost of HuntingPoints not worth the money.

Best App Period

I use HuntingPoints for hunting and I also use it in my line of work a realtor. HuntingPoints offers more than advertised. You will not be disappointed. Customer service is top notch. I made a small suggestion and with a few days I received a email from them that they had updated HuntingPoints with what I thought would be a better way. Awesome

Just so so... not impressed

Downloaded HuntingPoints to test it out / get an idea of where my property lines were located. I compared this to alternate apps and the imaging was hazy and sub par in comparison to the others. I found the gps location was consistently off by 50-60ft and would constantly fluctuate location. I found other apps such as BaseMap were accurate to about 10ft which was much closer to what I expected. Finally, you can’t even view the parcel overlay without upgrading / subscribing. Other apps include that for free at least so you can try it out..Not overly impressed so will be uninstalling.

Update Images Please

It’s a really good app so far don’t have the premium But so far I like it. I would really appreciate if they up dated the Maps though because I was in a clear cut the other day and it said I was in trees and this clear cut is over 4 years old the images are wrong in some areas. I can not argue with the fact that it’s free and all but the biggest complaint is definitely the Non-Updated Maping

Can’t get lost with it in your pocket! You will have no fear to go further in the woods than you ever have when you know how to get out so well. HuntingPoints. Even helps find the easiest path which saves valuable time and energy!

Does exactly what I need it to

HuntingPoints tells me who owns land in real time. Works excellent when I go fly fishing up the river with the fly rod or hunting on land where I might come into another persons land during the chase. Worth every dime

Nice alternative

My Garmin with onX went down for a bit, grabbed this off HuntingPoints Store and have been very impressed with features and cost per month, absolutely recommend

Dead on times

Looked at HuntingPoints last night and hunted the major this morning. Took a nice buck following the graph. I know it’s not perfect and there are variables but it worked this morning!! Thanks.

Although I have not purchased HuntingPoints yet I plan to. From what I have seen and played with it. To purchase will be money well spent.

No support?

App has worked fine for a couple months. Suddenly no landowner info shows, only the town. No name or address. I’ve tried emailing and contacting via the report problems page but it won’t send. Sent requests for help via Facebook messenger and all I’ve gotten is an auto-reply saying “we’ll respond as soon as possible”. I paid for a year and am very disappointed.

Not an ideal app.

App has some cool features but you can’t get the parcel map up and take measurements at the same time. It also doesn’t have any parcel info except the name, address and acreage. The satellite maps are also at least 3.5 years out of date. Fix those issues and I’ll gladly up my rating but until then 2 ⭐️’s more than generous!

HuntingPoints is great and it is very accurate as far as the movement time and the weather and the point are very accurate over all HuntingPoints is great

NOT UPDATED!

I was using HuntingPoints and I’m driving on a asphalt road and HuntingPoints was showing me driving on a dirt road..they need to update the MAPS

By

So so app

I use the map for hunting and comes in handy for measuring property. It’s not the best app. one major problem i found when hunting is the land ownership is incorrect this needs a SEROUS update, for instance my land still shows the previous owner of 3 years ago.. It’s So So

Hunting points : GPS

I purchased HuntingPoints and was relatively pleased with the use of marking points. HOWEVER, when I was comparing the maps on HuntingPoints to the ONHUNT app on my brothers phone, I realized that HuntingPoints’s satellite pictures of terrain are at least 5 years out of date. Clear cuts in the woods of Wisconsin are now filled with aspen and scrub oak. Trails exist that are not on the satellite pictures and vice versa. The pinned markers will get you to point A from B and back as your “body” does move like a vehicle on google maps. I confirmed the satellite pictures when I got home, in ND, for being outdated as I zoomed in on my property and it has trees that are gone, and my vehicle that I haven’t owned for at least 4 years. If it was updated to present I would give it a 5 star rating. However, as it stands, only a 3star. One last plus, you do get the whole US as near as I can tell ( haven’t checked everywhere) unlike other apps that you purchase per state or pay a high amount for all 50. That could bring up the rating if ones doesn’t care about satellite being current.

Very useful

I use HuntingPoints for more then just hunting. The weather side of HuntingPoints is awesome.

By

Good app

Pretty good app. GPS marking is spot on for the most part. I want the pro version but wish it was a one time fee for life.

By

Out of date

I just downloaded this but didn’t buy the premium version. When I opened HuntingPoints , the first thing that I noticed was my neighbors building that he built eight years ago is missing from the satellite image.

By

Good not Great

The most important part of HuntingPoints that I wanted is the parcel data. I would say 90% of the parcels say “no data available”.

By

Not accurate

I tapped the parcel that I own and the boundaries are not close to the map I got from the county. It is even wrong on the acreage. Don’t appreciate paying for something that not accurate.

By

Not worth it

Out of date map. Built my house 3 years ago and still had the one I tore down.

By

Out dated

Way out of date land owners names are from previous owners 5 to 6 years ago and maps are way out dated

By

Map lasted 2010

Need to update map. Cannot use old mapps!

By

Garbage

Out dated trash app!

Can I transfer a trail from my Iphone to my Ipad on Hunting App?

Jason   3 years ago

Maps are not up to date and in most of Ontario 90% of the map parcel data is unavailable and the 10 % that is available i have not been able to identify public crown land that’s being said this app has great potential for improvements and to be very helpful / useful to many more hobbies/activities
