Problems with my new subscription

2022-05-21

I have paid 240$ for my subscription and the process is too complicate. Continuos errors on the sign in process. I have not been able yet

AD no longer a pleasure to read on ipad

2022-06-22

Worsening format changes make AD harder and harder to read/enjoy. Dense, tiny text that cannot be enlarged fills pages, photos are smaller, pages more crowded w/ a cluttered look. This used to be one of the view magazines that was more enjoyable in digital form. No more. I thought Anna Wintour had creative input here. Please fix this Anna! AD demographic are mostly the reading glasses set anyway. So are ipad users!

Almost impossible to read

2022-07-23

The new version of ArchitecturalDigest provides no facility to magnify or change the text size, nor does it support the IOS dynamic text size. The text is too small to read comfortably. A huge step back and a real disappointment.

Frustrating App

2022-08-24

The way ArchitecturalDigest is designed, it’s like it doesn’t want me to use the magazine. It closes without prompting about 10 seconds after you start scrolling. Difficult, unintuitive, unresponsive navigation experience.

Shocking new version

2022-09-25

This version is terrible. You can only look at it in portrait on iPad. Not seeing both pages. Small fonts and you can not enlarge. Photos cannot be enlarged so often missing details. I am now reading it with my printed version instead of electronic. Absolutely useless and when is the next update?

Zero

2022-10-26

Subscription only gets recent magazine. To get older magazines you have to pay for Ad Pro. I called and did it on the phone. Ad Pro is for the archive on your browser. But it does not work? They told me there was a glitch and I should get in 5 days. Very disappointed with service.

Scammy subscription practices

2022-11-27

Everything i did i expected paper subscriptions, but after not ever receiving, decided to hunt down my email confirmation. Logged in and see i have a digital subscription. Cancelling required me to register and put my shipping address and hunt for turning off "auto renewal" and cancel.

Train wreck

2022-12-28

ArchitecturalDigest is a train wreck. The sign up process is kafkaesque, and when you finally do get into it the UI is utterly user hostile. One false move with your finger and you will be warped into a different article. Unless of course you WANT to go to the next article, in which case it someone psychically detects this fact and blocks your first 5 attempts. To top it off, ArchitecturalDigest is just totally unnecessary. Ever heard of a web site?

Unusable

2023-01-29

I wish it were like actually swiping through the magazine but half the time when you try to swipe to the next page it does nothing and you need to go into the side bar and select the next page. When trying to exit or go to the next page you need to swipe up or down to make the menu button appear and half the time when you swipe up or down it also does nothing, they need transparent over laid buttons that are small and not in the way to help guide you through and go between pages, there should also be a zoom out feature that you can see ye larger image and a way to read with your iPad flipped horizontally.

Hate new format

2023-03-02

You know good and well what all of the critics are saying so your pasting the optimized zoom for a response is bogus! What you’ve done was basically gone to a PDF of the actual print magazine with zoom whereas in the past the magazine was made for the digital format and was absolutely perfect! One of the best digital mags...but now it’s terrible! I imagine this is cheaper for you and even though your magazine has always been about quality you’ve chosen to go down the other path. So very disappointing. Even the resolution is different...shame!

Useless Rip off!!

2023-03-31

Why bother with ArchitecturalDigest when it’s going to charge you eight dollars each issue where you can see this for free at your local public library.

Oxymoronic!!!

This app is not accessible for people who are blind

2023-05-02

I have been trying for over a decade to get architectural digest and Condé Nast to make this magazine accessible for people who are blind and they have not achieved that as of yet. They are missing out on a large demographic. It is very disconcerting.

Really disappointing

2023-06-02

This version of the AD app is extremely frustrating to use. It is way less functional than previous versions. Very difficult to navigate and hard to close an edition and move to another. It also doesn’t rotate on my iPad and doesn’t bring up the descriptions of what you’re looking at. Really surprising and disappointing that this is the best they can do.

Navigational puzzle

2023-07-04

Why is it so hard to navigate through the site. Left, right, down & up. Holy F*!! Someone fix this and make it SIMPLE, LEFT TO RIGHT OR RIGHT TO LEFT. It’s like playing a maze puzzle with your app.

New app just shockingly terrible

2023-08-04

The new version breaks nearly everything. You can’t expand text or zoom into pictures anymore. The index is NOT HYPERLINKED now either, and the page numbers in the index DON’T MATCH THE PAGE NUMBERS. So, the index says 110, but you can’t jump there. You have to bring up the list of pages and scroll to page 110, but that is actually shown as page 108. If you go further, the discrepancy increases. It’s actually the worse magazine reader I’ve ever used, and for the last few years was one of the best. Crazy how lame it is, you have to really work at it to make it this bad.

Unstable application

2023-09-05

Had to deleted 3 times after installation. Had issues in downloading issues. Many features which are making the application slow.

Glad to have on Mac!

2023-10-07

I am really glad to have this available on Mac now but I would like to be able to view it full screen rather than one virtical page at a time. Either that, or I would like to have an online version that I can look at by logging into the AD website.

No more zoom capability - It’s back again!

2023-11-07

I love the magazine but not able to zoom in on pictures anymore makes one miss important details. Being able to zoom allowed to look into small details, which are as important as the big picture, sometimes more as they all together make the big picture. I wish they would bring it back. I asked and was told most likely not; so sad.

Update 2/2/20:

They brought the zoom in function back, which is great. The magazine still has some minor glitches, especially when swiping pages or the occasional mistake of having the incorrect footnote, however, the content is always great.
I love this magazine and will continue to get it.

AD used to be the best digital mag — now the worst!

2023-12-09

I used to look forward to the new issue of AD to read on iPad. It looked fantastic. You scrolled vertically for articles, could magnify most rooms, click to see captions and click for details to disappear, and the font was adjusted so you could read comfortably on your iPad. You could link to articles from the table of contents, and jump from article to article by clicking on a sidebar table of contents.

Now it is as though Condé Nast just digitally uploaded the magazine page by page. No adjustment of font or layout. Good luck reading all that tiny text intended for a big magazine on your iPad with no magnification or zoom allowed!

The helpful directions as you open the magazine read “swipe from right to left.” That is the extent of ArchitecturalDigest ’s functionality. That’s all you are able to do once you are in the magazine. Want to revisit an earlier article when you’re at the end of the magazine? Hope you enjoy swiping through 100 pages to get there. Ready to close the magazine and revisit an old issue? I tapped and tapped but could find no exit function. I work with digital things all day and have for years and years so it’s not my problem— the English House and Garden share this problem. I had to click on the iPad home button to leave the magazine and every time I clicked on ArchitecturalDigest , the magazine didn’t open to the library with all the back issues — dumb business decision because I often have bought back copies in the past — but to that same issue on the page I had left.

What’s going on, Condé Nast? First the July edition arrived a week into the month. But at least the magazine was a treat to read once it got here.

Thanks for nothing, Conde Nast. I guess you are trying to save money by you are killing the golden goose. And will the celebs really want to share their homes with you if it means their homes are viewed with this limited app? The celebs do love their iPads. Doesn’t anyone at Condé Nast get that??

The new style is not fun

2024-01-09

Why did you have to change the fabulous format of the digital magazine?
The new format is old, boring and one cannot amplify the pictures with two fingers, in fact, they took off that feature, leaving little pictures and a “demodé “ look. We are in the 21st Century, the old format was more high tech than this boring format. Let us have our magazine back to play with!

Not interactive

2024-11-17

Is it just me, or did AD go to just static pages? Very hard to read.

No flexibility

2024-11-17

I use a pad so I can zoom in on photos and unfortunately AD has changed tons static view. Das!

Someone deserves to be fired

2024-11-17

The latest update to ArchitecturalDigest is the worst and is making me doubt if I will renew. I like the publication; however, there’s some incredible incompetency demonstrated.

Hard to read

2024-11-17

The text is pretty small on a regular iPad. You should be able to enlarge pages as you wish.

New app is a PDF

2024-11-17

The new app is a PDF of the print version minus the ability to zoom or click on links. No thanks. Just canceled my subscription. Condé Nast did this to Bon Appétit as well (canceled last week).

Impossible to read and no navigation features.

2024-11-17

ArchitecturalDigest used to be good for iPad viewing. Now it’s almost useless. All it is is full page renderings. Low class effort by a world class outfit.

New version of app is Worthless

2024-11-17

Unless AD quickly upgrades their new app I'll be a past-subscriber. Not only can I not read the new months magazine, but SEVEN years of digital issues are worthless to me.

Totally useless app

2024-11-17

What happened? A perfectly fine way to read AD was made essentially useless by redesign. Without a text zoom feature, you can no longer read the text on an iPad. Without the picture zoom feature, you can no longer see details in photos up close. If you can’t read the type and can’t enlarge the pictures, what good is ArchitecturalDigest? Very disappointed with this. I will stop reading until a fix is made.
