I’ve been a long time yearly subscriber to SparkNotes for $4.99 a year. However, I just noticed today that I am no longer able to access my previously purchased titles in the app. I contacted customer support with an email, and they promptly replied and gave me a bogus answer saying that maybe I used a different email address when making my purchases. Well, that’s not the case. They are simply ripping people off and should be ashamed of themselves! This app is useless, worthless, and a scam. Avoid it at all costs! By the way, I promptly canceled my yearly subscription before I began composing this review. Get your ethics together, SparkNotes! Quick ripping people off! And how about refunding me the $4.99 you taken from me and for which you have provided no content or access. That’s what a real business would do. AVOID. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED!

I love the website, it’s so easy to use and helps me study and catch up on missed reading. However the app is much harder to use. I got it to read summaries of a book I’m reading in school, but I had to pay for a trial in order to use it. I could not open a chapter unless I signed up for a trial. If I didn’t, the chapter summary would simply not open. I understand that a free trial would be necessary for the creators, but I couldn’t use it once. Long story short, I deleted the app and went to the website. I don’t recommend this app, but the website is much better.

This is an awesome website for studying and final exams, so i thought i’d go ahead and download the app. To my surprise i had to pay to do anything on the app. It’s not fair to make me pay for the app but then let others use the website for free and have unlimited boundaries. The app is supposed to have upgrades from the website and be easier to use but i’m this case it’s not. I wouldn’t recommend downloading this unless you are willing to pay (being a student i don’t really want to pay for something like this). Stick with the website.
