This is not the apps fault but it is so cumbersome to make more than one reservation at a time. I just had to make reservations for our group of four spots, although I entered all the required information each time, it said it was all missing when I went to my cart. You also have to start all over every time you make a new reservation. For example I wanted to make a reservation for four spots in a row at the same park and same dates, but I had to go back each time and select the park, then the dates, then entered all the info...the whole time praying nobody was snagging up one of the only 4 spots that will work for our group. A person should be able to click multiple spots and make a single reservation.

The state park decided to work on the water system and will close all bathrooms, showers, and have no water at the reserved sites. They also decided to not have a dump station open.
I am not sure why they chose to work during the high season but it has been decided.
This means during our planned 10 day stay, will not happen since years past this has not been an issue.
Now to cancel, you want cancellation fees.
That is not fair to have a cancel fee for something out of my control.
At least with Covid, this was not the same and we were offered cancellation waived.
Your app is great but there is no thought in this situation. You may as well burned down the park and said you will rebuild it to allow water again next season.

The “update” to RACamping have made RACamping unusable. I loved how easy to use the previous version was and used it constantly to browse new campgrounds and book my sites. With the version however, it is impossible to find a site unless you already know exactly where you want to stay and it’s more difficult to get to the details of your future reservations. With this new version, I avoid using RACamping as much as possible but I really miss the search functionality of the prior version.

This is a horrible system! State and federal parks should not be allowing such advanced reservations. People should not be allowed to book more than 14 days in any month or 60 days in advance. And not be allowed more than 60 nights in any year.
There should be restrictions that keep track of the individual that books in advance but never shows up! Maybe three strikes you’re out rule, banned for a year. Reserve America should have quite a database and with a little software tweak this can be easily controlled. There are families out there that might get a Friday off and decide to go camping locally for that Friday night and Saturday night but can’t even though nobody is at some of those sites that have been booked a year in advance.
Somebody needs to step up in the state park system and get this corrected instead of business as usual. Remember it’s our tax dollars that support these parks.
Ps;
How can people be giving this 4+ stars when you can never get in a state park for a weekend in Florida in the winter but yet 50% of all parks are taken up by out of State people & Canadians!
How about surveys for state parks from residents of those states only to get a true rating. Its not always about the tourist any more.

I have done a lot of of booking through the RA app. I thought I was the way of the future for us that know how to use technology but also treasure the moments with only what you bring. RACamping used to deliver, but now the seam to want to complicate this transaction.

This was a five star app when you search a a map with the parameters set for your needs.

RA has delivered many moments in my life made super easy. I love it. Don’t change. This new year I have bought 10 sites for me and my friends to reconnect. Plz do not f*cl that up

by Doubt You Can Fix Failures

Specifying RV/Trailer does not provide any information pertinent to the site such as length of vehicle accommodated or amperage of the electric service for that site. Previously this information was made available, but that may have been a different app. Also, it would be helpful to see the dates a particular site may be available. Or indicate alternate similar sites. If a site is booked for a single night when someone is trying to make a reservation for 2 weeks, it is not helpful to provide alternate dates 3-4 months forward. I was really looking forward to making frequent use of RACamping.

Why $9 to make a reservation? That’s so exorbitant and disproportionate, almost 50% of the state park fee. No way the program, multiplied by thousands of reservations daily, costs that much to administer! It’s one thing to make a profit, another to be predatory.
The website needs an alert to inform that one has to scroll to the bottom of the page and check a box, not just refuse to let one proceed by giving” incorrect data” notice. THIS is NOT a user friendly program, and a prime example of what the exorbitant fee is NOT being used for

RACamping forces you to specify dates as well as camp sites. Why isn’t there an option to specify a date range OR a site to allow people to make better informed decisions on what’s available in a broad sense? The current version forces users to go back to square one after every step. It’s archaic and it locks users out of sites. Terrible.

When you search for sites it lists all parks including day use parks.
It does not allow you to sort out the type of site you want.
I don’t have a generator. I want at least power and water with a dump station minimum.
I booked the wrong type of site before I realized there was no power. For a few days the water and sewer not as important. I had to cancel and really review each park.

Though the site is easy to navigate online, from RACamping (at least my version) it difficult to search by date. I also can’t figure Hoyt how to reserve multiple sites at once, and logging in initially is a double procedure. It’s either a glitch or just designed poorly. The developers can fix a few things, such as searching areas by dates, and length parameters. I have to check each site, it shouldn’t give me options to pick a 25 ft site when I enter my trailer at 35’.

iPad version only works in portrait mode and does not reliably work with constant freezes and crashes on new iPad Pro 11. iPhone version is much more reliable but is so small when using the map feature it’s very hard to see. So, when I got my new iPad I was very hopeful that it would be an experience similar to my laptop/desktop Mac. NOT...

been using site for a few years i still get confused because i have to scroll to the bottom to click

to move forward, but there is no prompt to tell me to scroll all the way down. happens almost every time.

It should be easier to navigate in between campsites and nearby campgrounds without having to input the same dates over and over and scrolling through the calendar is annoying.

Decent app, though a few improvements would help enormously. 1. Make the trailer slider easier to grab for those with larger fingers. One should be able to rap anywhere along the line and have the marker jump to that point. 2. Allow people with accounts to save preferences for equipment and payment.

The only reason I gave a 4 star is Bc of the waiting you have to do to book sites. I need to make my schedule way ahead so if I take time then can t book I can’t camp, other than that RACamping works fine!!! Edit; u also shouldn’t need a nickname to post a review! Every name I try is taken. Who cares

Please update RACamping to allow searching for the first available slot for a camp site. I would like to chose two days or three days...ect and then see when the next available slot is. That would be very very helpful.

I love RACamping. It is such a great way to find a camping spot. I find it easy to search through and look at the various features of each site. My only desire is that there were more photos available of each site from a couple different angles.

I don’t understand the negative reviews, it’s worked great for me without any issues. Doesn’t seem to support landscape mode but zooms to full screen in portrait orientation on iPad Pro and looks fine. Map view and list view work well as does searching by city or area.

When reserving more than one campsite at a time we should only need to enter our demographics one time and the site should remember the details we put in the first time for the next site. Would also be nice if the demographics would just prepopulate to your site reserving each time you sign in to make a reservation.

RACamping is terrible considering I have to pay $8 per reservation I make on it. And I make 20+ reservations a year. That means I’m paying $160 a year for an awful experience. It doesn’t track my loyalty rewards points. It’s showing I have zero reservations when I already have made 7 for next year. Setting up a “Favorite” campground is pointless because it’s easier to just do a search. I have nothing positive to say about RACamping. It is garbage.

We often find ourselves going camping last minute. RACamping makes it really easy to find a site that fits our needs for our small kids. When we want to get up and go, this makes it possible!!

Friends and I use this website all the time. We like using the map to find our sites. So we know we’re together and it’s fast and efficient. We use google maps Ariel view at the same time because sometimes RA maps aren’t to scale.

When you have a log in, you should not have to enter your information every time. You need to make it automatically fill the information in.
