Very pretty app, for sure, but I don’t understand the high ratings from others. Functionality just doesn’t make sense it feels like they wanted to put as many pretty things on as many pages and menus as possible. I don’t understand why when I first open PGATOUR , it doesn’t go straight to the leaderboard. It gives you the hole by hole layout like the first thing I care about is “oh who’s on number 5?” And when you click the leaderboard menu button it slides out from the side covering barely over half the screen like its some side-note you’re looking for. This makes absolutely no sense to me. Instead of spending money making pretty graphics of some green how about we figure out how we can get full player profiles on PGATOUR with money earned per tournament (PGATOUR routes you to Safari). That’s what the people want. Tournament leaderboard and FULL player profiles. I get anxiety every time I open PGATOUR because I know it’s going to give me a bunch of noise and I’ll have to dig to find what I’m looking for. Also, PGATOUR doesn’t support profile view (on iPad) which is maybe more annoying than all of the above. Granted, I still have PGATOUR , but it’s greatest value to me are the notifications and favorite players updates.

Please hire some competent tech people to look into why your app is not working. It supposedly should work on IOS 12 and later, but since your latest upgrade, it’s not. I’ve had to download your ridiculously slow website to get golf news. The ESPN website is a better alternative!
Just bought an iPhone XR and brought back up my PGA Tour app as I’m now on IOS 13, however you should have notified followers with older phones that don’t support newer IOS updates or allowed them to download an older version of PGATOUR ! Get with it you tech pros.

Every major tournament has an app that updates quickly, rarely force quits, and contains meaningful content for golf fans. The most reliable elements of the PGA Tour app are that you can guarantee it will force quit, you can guarantee the leaderboard will be incredibly far behind, and you can guarantee the user experience will be clunky at best.

With as much money as the tour pulls in it would be incredibly easy to improve PGATOUR to at least compete with the apps dedicated to the majors. Unfortunately, PGATOUR being an afterthought is just another indication (along with their avoidance of any hint of conflict, their unimaginative tournament formats, and their pricing the new media contract so high that Networks have to flood the broadcast with commercials to be able to afford it) that the tour couldn’t care less about the fan experience.

Drains battery on iPhone and iPad. About 20% per 8 hours. I also wish you could just watch pga tour live right in PGATOUR . It’s the best way to follow the scoreboard but I’ve tried multiple times to download it hoping it has been fixed but it just kills my battery

Confirmed again last night deleting it and my battery stayed at 100% overnight not plugged in in airplane mode. App significantly degrades battery

I actually really like the newer design (think it’s much more ui friendly unlike a lot of other recent raters)

Few suggestions:
* please utilize iOS 13 modals for when you open up new windows (ie opening up shortracker from scorecard) benefit is these newer modals allow you to swipe it down and away rather than having to click close up top
* dark mode
* could be a little faster/also when app loads up the top row on home page flashes the player icons which is distracting
* when clicking the scorecards on home for other tours, it navigates you to a different tour view. Should be able to backswipe back to main home rather than having to filter back

Not sure other raters realize that once you click the players name to expand once, you can click any hole on the mini scorecard as your second click and your brought immediately to the shortracker. It’s 2-3 clicks not the 10

The website is at least 2-3 holes behind the live play of the tournament. Every time I’m away from a tv or can’t watch on a mobile device and want to see how the players stand, I’ve realized the scoring updates on your website are 30 to 45 minutes behind live play.

One other thing; you can’t find what the field is for upcoming tournaments until a day or so before it starts. The information is available by searching the website for the tournament, but what’s the big secret you’re trying to keep by not posting it when it becomes final?

I keep saying there is an upgrade available, but when I click on the upgrade it just sends me to PGATOUR Store. When you get to PGATOUR Store it just let you open up PGATOUR , which then tells you there's an update available, and around and around we go. This has been a problem before but I'm all done. Take care, I hope you get it fixed

Wanted to look at leaderboards for past tournaments ... some direct me to the present WCG in Mex. instead. Even when it does, it takes forever!!! What is going on? Pls fix it. And now,
All of a sudden, can't upgrade on my I-Pad ... app doesn't support it. I now have NOTHING! What is the problem? Why can't you people leave well enough alone? Also, why is this version not compatible anymore? I have IOS 10.3.3
Adding same comments again ... upgrade, open, must upgrade,
Open, etc. etc. do you ever read the comments? My I-phone app is fine !!! NO STARS, can't even change them ...

Upgrade is no longer mandatory. There is a cancel option!

Original review—Mandatory Upgrades are stupid when you destroy PGATOUR on older devices still running iOS 10.3. One is thrown into an endless loop of upgrade required, but it cannot be installed because it is not compatible with iOS 10.3, so install a prior version which is compatible, but the prior version now ISN'T compatible because of the mandatory update! 🙄

When you open PGATOUR , it takes forever to load. Long enough you’ll close it most times before using it. Half the time the live updates are 10 min late. The shot tracker is glitchy and often doesn’t even work, always requiring you to click the player’s name on and off to update to the next shot. Kind of embarrassing how bad PGATOUR is considering how much money they have and it’s the only one in existence. Pretty useless if you ask me. Plenty of other sports apps can do what it does, but work way faster. I guess the PGA tour is spending all their time making sure the boiled hot dogs and disgusting sandwiches at their events stay crappy.

Trump golf courses are some of the best in the country. I don’t believe you should alienate -1/2 of the population with punishing the President. I don’t know how much it may hurt his bottom line. But you did this before the complete story is told. I don’t watch football anymore for there anti American antics. Bunch of spoiled rich players creating a scene. Please don’t get political in your presentations in the future. I bet the football teams lost a lot of viewers. You’ll lose me.

I hate giving PGATOUR a 1 star because it used to be beautiful. When I open PGATOUR "a newer version available that requires an update" box pops up, but when I click on the box to agree with wanting to update PGATOUR it then takes me to the Apple App Store where everything appears to be up to date. In short, there is no update to download. So needless to say, this causes a vicious cycle of uselessness. I've read other reviews on this page that are referring to this very problem as well. This used to be a great app and probably still is if I could actually update it and use it again for all of my PGA scoring needs :-)

Something has to be done with slow play, warnings mean nothing if some sort of penalty is added to the game, they will keep doing slow play. On another note there are players getting away with anchoring there putters, everyone should putt with the same average size putters. 51/2 hr. Rounds are not acceptable, anchoring putters to chest or arm on side , has to be stopped. I know nothing will change, it’s just what I am tired of seeing. Thank you !!!! Why couldn’t golf fans in the USA watch the Ryder Cup unless they got up at 2:00am in the morning, it’s a disgrace that you couldn’t have aired it around noon, so golf fans could watch and cheer on our country. Disgraceful!!!!

The PGA tour app Notifications have much to be desired. notifications state “X player has started and is even through 1”. how they did through 1 is less interesting. This could be a much improved notification by saying “player X has started round X, is (overall) XX under, and currently in X place”. Then I might log into your app to follow. But when most players start even, it’s not a notification that encourages me to open PGATOUR and follow the action. Could be so much more.

PGATOUR itself is great. Their fantasy game Pick Em Live is a joke. No problem getting your first picks in but after that good luck. If a round ends at 7:00pm they normally don’t unlock the ability to get your next picks in until 5 or 6 the next morning when people are sleeping or getting ready for work knowing the next round begins at 7 or 8. It’s an absolute joke. The next round should unlock an hour or two at the latest after a round ends. But you’ll notice the “insiders” and certain people never have problems getting their picks in. It’s an absolute joke or scam! But PGATOUR itself is good.

I love the PGA TOUR app but I’m always asked “what’s up for grabs”.
Suggestion: add an info link at the header page for leaders that details $purse for top 5
& an explanation for future exemptions
….the Dell is an example, it’s difficult to find this info & if provided on your site it would surely be appreciated by golf fans 🏄‍♀️

Shot tracker is cool, but there are two huge flaws. They removed “field” tab, meaning it’s now very hard to add and track favorite golfers. If you gamble or play DFS and don’t want to follow the same guys, it’s a bigger lift.

Also, I swear 35% of the time I try to scroll I open up an ad due to its placement in the view port, or the way it slides in between players on a delay. And good luck if your player is even near an ad and you want to see his round.

I check PGATOUR religiously every single week (and day) so functionality and user friendliness is key.
If I wanted all the details that are seen on the full website desktop version, I would use my desktop. But I don’t, that’s why I use PGATOUR , for the condensed version only showing me what I need to see. something Super easy to get around and understand.

The black background is so difficult to see the scores for each hole easily. You aren’t directed to another page to see either your player or groups shots like before. All my favorites were gone and needed to be added again. And if I wanted to see pictures of all the players I would look at their bios, NOT ON THE TEE TIMES PAGE where all I want is a name and a time.

Visually the tee times look cool I’ll give the update that, but efficiency is out the window. PLEAAE GO BACK TO THE UPDATE PRIOR TO THIS ONE. Because this one is horrible. Not user friendly. Too much info. 🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️

Cut out the Skratch videos promoting new food shows and other off topic pieces. Just let cameras roll on the course. You are positioned to show live golf. It’s more interesting to see players walking to their ball like you are attending the event than it is watching “cool content” like how to BBQ ribs in a city where they happen to hold an event. Golf fans logging on to watch this app Live just want to see live footage. This will be an even more popular opinion as the betting continues to increase and everyone is playing daily fantasy golf.

Opened PGATOUR and was informed that I need to upgrade to use PGATOUR . It gives me a connection stated "upgrade" which only takes me to the Apple Store which informs me I've already purchase PGATOUR . Where's the upgrade? Why doesn't it show up as an upgrade in the Apple Store? Very bad.

Now it's Jan 5, 2019 and again there is a message to upgrade, but as a year ago where's the upgrade? And, again, why don't the upgrades show in the Apple Store?

Noticed that PGATOUR "requires iOS 11.0 or later." My iPad is at 10.3.3 and it states it is up to date. What gives?

I love the PGA tour app. I especially love the play by play feature. When you can’t be there in person PGATOUR is the next best thing. The only thing that would make this t better is if it told you what club they were using when. That would add even another level of excitement. Thank you for supporting PGA golf.

It’s always left me wondering and searching other sources for such pertinent information.
Another icon at the bottom for course info, maybe even an address, and time zone, perhaps even a little history of events played there and what caliber of players that have won there would enhance the experience and make this a true source of information.
As of now, it’s a reasonable start but could use some serious improvement.

Have had your app installed for tests now. Thanks. Have enjoyed it fully (other than but now better long loading time) But with these new, forced! full page ads that must be endured... The PGA Tour clearly doesn't need that type of ad revenue. Going to give it a few more days but will delete PGATOUR and a loyal user will be forever lost if they persist. Sorry guys but this is intolerable. BTW: the send feedback ability within PGATOUR doesn't have a send button so if you're wondering why you're not getting a lot of feedback...

I used to use this all the time. Unfortunately, the biggest problem is the tee times. It doesn’t adjust to your own time zone. I used to translate it from Eastern time. Now they’re just wrong, all the time. I’m too frustrated with the fact that I’ve tuned into watch golfers at the wrong time and missed their play. Come on software team. Can’t you do what every app does, adjust to the local time zone of the phone?!? That way when people are traveling abroad it will still work. Life’s amazing when you leverage software correctly!

Let me start off by saying that PGATOUR is great and the $5.99 a month service is also very good for live coverage, allowing you to watch featured groups and or featured holes. HOWEVER, why in the world do you not allow me to watch the same live feed that shows on Facebook live, for FREE? Some people do not use Facebook… Most people do not use Facebook live because it requires flash player which does not work on almost all iOS devices. PGA tour, please do your research and DONT Alienate the people that actually preferred to pay $5.99 a month for great coverage.

PGATOUR works well for checking leaderboards, tee times and general tour information. However, it is not great at allowing you to follow the action on course. The updates are very slow throughout each tournament and it’s almost impossible to follow a player from shot to shot continuously. I really do hope this is improved in the future and I would also like to see an update for the iPhone X.

I generously gave this a 3 star. It’s really 2.5 stars. PGATOUR functions fine but it’s far too limited. You might as well just list the player names on the tour and be done with it given the limited info available. It’s better to use a web browser like Safari or chrome on your smart phone and go to the PGA Tour site that way than to use PGATOUR because the info offered is so sparse. Just a disappointing app.

In the ages old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” you may have missed something. You fixed it, and now all I want to see is missing. I could navigate from the leaderboard to other areas, if I wanted. The previous versions of PGATOUR functioned fine without the need to search for everything, and select the tour you want to see. I may be one of a very few that looked at tours other than the PGA; however, it should default to that one automatically. I’m not sure if I will keep PGATOUR if I can’t find things easily.
