The Greatest Metronome for Me!

Well, I never really downloaded myself. I was recommended ProMetronome because of my Piano Teacher. Turns out, It is a solid one! I have been using ProMetronome ever since I STARTED PIANO 3 YEARS AGO!!! I can tell you this producers, you've done a very well done job! But, I only do the basics since my teacher told me not to mess with anything else. And I know why, since it's really complicated for me. Remember, I'm just getting THE HANG of it! So I would like to make a suggestion for you. Can you please do a tutorial or instructions once they downloaded it? Because, the new people trying out your app DOESN'T have a clue what to do! That would be nice for me and the new people! Also, you made it easier for me! It's much better for me because I don't have to do my own Metronome! (Besides It didn't work out good 😬 😂) It's even FREE, so you don't have to use ANY CENT from you wallet! Thank YOU guys for ProMetronome. It is making my life better and also as a Piano student! Wish you guys the best and have a happy year!

Love,

Angellw820 ❤️

Great for Music Teachers

I use ProMetronome as a choral director and private voice instructor and I recommend it to my students. It’s user friendly, and my students are able to easily use it for their practices away from me. In my Choral rehearsals, we refer to ProMetronome as Mr. Metronome, and my singers get to hear it over a Bluetooth speaker. They groan when I bring out Mr. Metronome—but they are always better afterwards!

Perhaps I’ve missed it, but I would love a feature that would allow me to program in meter changes, as this happens quite a bit in Renaissance vocal music. Example: 32 measures at 4/4, followed by 8 measures of 3/4, then back to 4. Its a small issue, really. I simply adjust the strong beats right now so everything sounds the same when we have mixed meter, but I’d pay for a programmable feature like that.

Thanks for a great app!

It’s not a bad app, but I was overwhelmingly frustrated.

Like I said, it’s not a bad app. It’s got great features and foreseeable success. I liked the fact that you could set timers and change the sound of each beat if you wanted, but I suggest not using the tap button to change the tempo. That’s not my main issue with my short lived experience with ProMetronome, but just to test it out, I was tapping along with the tempo I already had (120bpm) to see if it’d only change one or two numbers or not at all. It plummeted down to 80bpm; not even close.
Other than that, everything was great...almost. I was trying to play music and I would have to keep stopping because the last beat would somehow keep muting itself. To add insult to injury, the tempo would move up two beats every few minutes, and I was entirely confused. My frustration continued to grow as pop ups to buy the full version assaulted my screen repeatedly.
It kept opening different sections by itself and I couldn’t get anything done. Needless to say, it is no longer on my phone.

So far the most professional metronome I can find

I have to say it wasn’t intuitive when I first bought it (I paid, didn’t I?). I never had music instrument training in my life but recently started to play drums. I got a few metronome apps, paid or free. This one looks a bit complicated, for a couple of months I only used the basic functions. When I started to train for doubles (the big big), it’s function to speed up automatically makes HUGE difference. It’s also super flexible to set subdivisions or triplets and save the tempo, so I can switch from rock drumming to jazz literally in a second. If you are serious about training, this is the only metronome you need, it has everything. Be a little patient and find out where everything is. I had no common sense on music, nothing was intuitive to me, but if I can find it, surely you can.

Just a great idea for you.

I love ProMetronome. I haven't even touched upon all its features yet but I was curious to use it with my iwatch and hoped that it had this one feature in mind. Rather than simply being a remote control for the phone app, could ProMetronome integrate to the use of the vibration and pulse notification feature that the watch has? This could allow the wearer to feel the pulse of the tempo while in use. Sounds like a stretch but I'm sure someone out there is working on it. If not, you should. I could see this being a new and important tool in the studio or on live stage especially if you can sync between multiple devices. For studio use it would make sense if the DAW could control the start and stop function for the Iwatch wearer to stay in sinc with the recording. Good luck.
Thanks for such a great app.

In-App Purchases Notification bug

I downloaded ProMetronome just recently because I wasn't satisfied with my other metronome app, and let me just say it blows it out of the water. Just one problem...

On my phone, I have In-App Purchases disabled, because most apps I go onto love to flood you with In-App Purchases, which wasn't a problem since I disabled it. ...Until now. When I boot up ProMetronome (every single time, even when multi-tasking), I always get two of the same message: "Oops! Device not authorized for In-App Purchase. You must enable it in System Settings." I didn't mind it at first, but EVERY time I refer to a song and come back, it gives me the same notice again, and again, and again, until I delete ProMetronome , actually adjust the settings (which I adjusted years ago and can't remember how to fix nor will fix), or wait until the next update. ProMetronome has a lot of potential, so I'm hoping the review to fix this bug comes out soon.

Only one I need

I love all of the features! I love everything about ProMetronome , I really do. I've had dozens of metronome apps but this is the only one I actually enjoy using. It's boring enough playing to a click, but these guys actually have given my click a bit of personality which enables me to play to my click as much as I should. My chops are better than ever and it's simply because of how much I use ProMetronome! My only wish is that I had a larger variety of sounds to choose from, as to blend into different songs a little more seamlessly. Id also like to have different color schemes to choose from. I know this sounds petty, but it's genuinely the ONLY thing I would change and I felt the need to add a negative to keep balance and plant seeds for my wishes to blossom from. 😂

Almost perfect but not quite.

Why pay $16 on other metronome apps? Here's why.

As a new drummer, I need all the help I can get with my timing and rhythm. ProMetronome is wicked neat and helps me with just that. My absolute favorite part of ProMetronome is the mute option. You can mute for a specified number of measures or random. Don't like random mutes, when using the voice counting and the count talking is the 'and'. Easier to tell it how many measures to be quiet.

One more thing, ProMetronome hasn't been updated in a year. So here's my 2 cents. Having large numbers on the faceplate counting for You would be awesome. Like seeing a huge 2 or a 4 or a "2 and", flash on the screen, yeah that would be neat. The blinky bars at the top work but numbers would be light years better. I'm a pro user so I'd pay extra for Large number flashes.

Please move the timer on the home screen away from landscape option They are too close together and I'm always hitting landscape when I want to access the timer. This gets annoying.

Oh I'd pay a boatload to be able to put in my own grooves to practice too. But not $16. $8.00 you bet!!!!!

OK. That's enough. Like I said time for an update and some new options to make an already good app, perfect. Make them in app purchases. I will buy them all.

Music teacher likes

I teach guitar/voice to kids in an after school Academy. I switched to ProMetronome two months ago and I love it! I make all my students get ProMetronome. It's beautiful, the interface is easy and there's so much control. I can change the sounds, change the beat block etc. But my fav part: a one button click that adds sub beats.

I also play guitar professionally so I practice my speed picking on the regular. I'll try a hard lick real slow, and then with one tap (while my fingers are all warmed up) it basically doubled my tempo by adding the 8th note sub divisions.

I can also easily change it to triplets which has been a feature that's hard to find on other apps. Great metronome. I'm very pleased.

Needs Update For Apple Watch 3!!

I swear by ProMetronome more than other metronome apps. I did get the full Pro version and I have been satisfied with it. Just got an Apple Watch 3 (my first Apple Watch) and I notice a decent amount of bugs. The sound sometimes plays from the watch but mostly just starts clicking on my phone. The pre-programmed songs I made only sometimes work. And I think there desperately needs to be settings function on the watch so you can turn the sound off and have it vibrate instead. I’m a music teacher and it would be extremely convenient to have that as feature to subtly check tempo before starting a song in the middle of a performance. Hope this brings these issues to the light for everyone and hope we can get an update because I really do enjoy ProMetronome!

Useful, but please remove volume warning!

ProMetronome has great features and is very reliable. I love that it clicks rather than beeps, so there’s no pitch to worry about. The one thing that drives me insane is when I turn the volume all the way down, it pops up a window that says “oops! Volume is too low!” And I have to click out of it before I can use the damned thing. I frequently need to clock my students while they are playing, which I obviously can’t do with sound. There are many times when a visual representation only would be helpful... even old school metronomes have the option to use click + light or only light. Please, please let me decide if I want it to be silent! I do this enough that it seriously makes me want to rip my hair out and find another app.

Tap tempo is all over the place, won’t use again.

I’ve been a Music producer for 10+ years. When someone sends me reference tracks I like to know the tempo. Whenever I get a new iPhone and need to know the tempo of a track on the go, I head to ProMetronome Store and type in tempo... I saw good reviews so I downloaded and tried to tap the tempo of the record. It was surprisingly annoying jumping up and down 10-15bpm around the tempo I’m trying to find. Very inconsistent with accurate tempos.. it took multiple tries tapping many times to get within a wide range of tempos, then I’d have to guess until I find the right tempo. Waste of time for someone who’s trying to use a reliable tempo tap. By the way, I’m an extremely experienced tapper and can keep pretty much perfect time, so there is no excuse for this tempo tap to be all over the place lol... sorry guys. Let me know if you guys update the tempo section of ProMetronome and I’ll test it for you!!

Great! (Kind of...)

TLDR; Set a click. Useable set list feature. Easy to preset. Awful click tones.
I'm a working drummer and needed to set up a click track in a set list. It does just that. It works, it's easy enough to program, you can download the set as a playlist. Boom. Having an app like this on the market is ridiculously important and useful. The flipping back and forth between screens could be streamlined a little better instead of the weird page flip/attention to graphics. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because the click tones are wretched. Only one of them are unusable in a live setting, and even the woodblock tone is relatively bothersome. There's either too much going on in the click itself (cowbell, jingles, kick drum) or it's a tingy digital thing that is useless. If there was a way to set the click tone I'd give it a million stars.

Good app

This is a good app that they have improved over time. I recently discovered Stage Mode that is very helpful to me as I use ProMetronome on stage for our worship band. ProMetronome provides the click track for every song we do. It is easy to put each track together and sequence them. However, there are a few features that it doesn't have that would help us a lot. I need to be able to transfer tracks (or my entire list) to another device. I could switch between my iPhone and iPad if they were portable. Or I could transfer them to the band. The guitar players like to setup their delays according to the BPM of the song. The second feature that would help is to be able to set up set lists. I could preset them and just load the one I need for a particular day.

Features!

I just needed a metronome when I purchased ProMetronome and didn't explore or think I needed anything else. But I keep discovering things that have turned out to be really useful! I love the automator that allows you to program in a series of practice speed levels that can ramp up or down in speed as quickly or slowly as desired. It also calculates how long the practice series will take to complete. Most recently discovered the playlist that I'm using to program the desired time settings for the tunes in my repertoire--and there's a "stage" version that presents them in a larger, easy to access format. Too many features to mention. Who knew that a metronome could be so smart!

Great app with great features....But...

ProMetronome gets 2 stars from me because of what it aims to do with subdivisions and such (even though you must pay for them) without those features it would be one star. Why? Because it sells itself as a metronome. Something that keeps time...a rather important thing for all musicians. This metronome is broken and very inconsistent. Bad idea for new drummers that are working on internal time keeping ability. The metronome is as inconsistent, or more, than a brand new drummer that just started playing. I don’t know what causes this problem. The temp change is quite noticeable once you realize and pay attention to it. It drags and rushes while trying to stay where you want it. But I really just don’t even attempt to use it anymore because of this. It would otherwise be amazing and I’ll change the rating when it gets fixed.

buy pro

i'm a member of my schools marching band & i play bass 4 in battery and we just got our warm ups . i remembered i ran out of space on my phone so i deleted a bunch of apps along with my metronome & i downloaded this and i've actually had it before that's probably why i deleted this but it sucked so bad . don't waste your time on this . i think it just has to do with it's not the pro (the one that costs money) . try to get money and download the pro on any metronome app because it'll work way better . on ProMetronome and other basic metronome apps it only gave me quarter notes i needed like 16's and triplets & every beat of a measure like ( 1 e and a 2 e and a 3 e and a 4 e and a ) but it only gave me quarter notes along wth the other apps . but i looked at the pictures for ones with money and i bought a good one for 2.99 . it gives me all of that good stuff not just quarter notes . just type in MetroTimer & buy it . i promise it'll be worth it .

Great For All Around Drummers (But only the Pro Version)

ProMetronome is amazing for all around Drummers such as myself who play multiple percussion instruments such as snare and Drum Kit. When I first downloaded it (which was about 3 years ago) the base app came with a lot of features but then eventually those features got put onto the Pro Version (which may I mention that it's super cheap). Anyways at the time I got the Pro Version it was only $0.99 and now it is $2.99 but I'm telling you if you're a drummer like me please do yourself a favor and get ProMetronome I promise you won't regret it and also make sure you get the Pro Version! (Also btw I'm not a person hired to make good reviews I am a ligament user of ProMetronome)

Great!

As a music major in college, this metronome has everything that I could possibly need. My only suggestion would be that on the iPhone X and later models, one cannot pull down the control center on the upper right part of the screen without pressing the yellow screen orientation button within ProMetronome . So when I try to adjust my phone's volume (without the use of the side buttons), I always hit the screen orientation button unless I exit ProMetronome first then reenter, or mash the physical volume up key on my phone. It's a very small gripe as I could try to train myself to adjust the volume before entering ProMetronome , but a suggestion to move that button elsewhere nontheless.

I don’t 5 Star often.

ProMetronome deserves it because it’s everything a metronome should be! And then some. I love how easy it is to pick your tempo and go. Getting used to the settings is the only thing I found a little confusing, but I persisted and think I got it. I love that it has an Automator practice mode where you can set in a starting tempo and an ending tempo and set a count of bars to repeat and speed up each go around; this makes memorizing music fun for me and being able to get the hard parts of black pages to effortlessly flow from my fingers without having to stop to reset the metronome is wonderful, I can keep up my momentum.
Absolutely worth the working price!
