Useless

Consistent inaccurate weather forecasting!! Use the default iPhone weather app- much more accurate! AfricaWeather always takes the middle ground- eg. 60% chance of rain all day for days on end when in reality you get clear blue skies and maybe a storm that night. After a day they update the morning part to what actually happened. Forecasting is future tense!!!!!! What good is it at 6:00pm to to update that mornings weather to "no rain" when all day you said "60% chance of showers" for that morning?? If we relied on your forecasting we'd never go outside...

Kite surf

Information is often totally confused and not thoroughly updated. For example Hillcrest and Durban ( Balito) for Tuesday 10th April overview says 28 deg C with NE WINDS and no rain whereas the detailed forecast completely contradicts with SW WINDS and lower temps. Wednesday shows clouds and rain in the picture icon whereas the detail shows sun throughout . This type of confusion doesn't make for a trustworthy site. All winds and strengths thereof are most often incorrectly forecast. The kph is mostly way under the actual. Durban Sunday 8th April typical example. SA weather has a long road to walk before it can stand in the same line up as the windgurus of this world.

Gone from what was a decent app to worse

Was awesome me app for local SA Weather conditions. Push notifications app DONT work anymore ... in addition I'd prefer buying AfricaWeather and getting storm /Rain notifications for free rather then downloading the & then buying services, this model of pricing is just greed. The subscriptions are ridiculous !

A joy to use

This is one of the best weather apps I could find for weather in South Africa!

I’m very close to giving it 5*, however, the ad removal price/year is not correct. It states that it cost $1 less in AfricaWeather than what is presented to you once you are about to pay.
I don’t mind paying a $ more, but at least make sure that it’s not misleading then.

Keep up the great work on this, it’s truly someone exceptional to be using as a South African.

*I’ll subscribe and update this review as soon as the discrepancies are fixed

Lovely, but expensive.

This is a fantastic app. No bugs that I've encountered, loads of info, easy to use and customise.

Unfortunately the full version costs far, far more than I would consider paying. But the free version is more than I could ask for.

LOCAL IS LEKKA

AfricaWeather is pretty well done and responsive and easy to use.
The subscriptions are rather steep though.
If it was fixed to a once off price or less than a dollar a month I may give it better consideration.

Still my favourite SA weather app

Only complaint is that the animations may sometimes be misleading, as it often indicates eg rainy weather or very windy weather when the opposite is true. Looking at the breakdown may be a clearer indicator of the weather.

Different suburbs given same readings

AfricaWeather is very good, but I have noticed that in some areas the same readings are given to different suburbs.
For instance, Kloof and Durban CBD are given exactly the same readings, but physically the weather conditions are totally different due to Kloof being a few Km inland.
AfricaWeather could be really great if little bugs like that is sorted out.

Needs GPS based info

Yes, I know you can add your current location via GPS. But to be able to receive notifications and storm warnings based on GPS location would be nice. I don't care if the storm is on the way to my house when I am at work. New version is a great improvement to the first one though.

Incredibly detailed

We run a car wash - so as you can imagine, our business relies heavily on knowing what weather to expect on a daily and even hourly basis. I've found the WeatherSA app to drill down into incredible detail! Very useful and highly recommended.

Massive improvement

The new weathersa app is an awesome upgrade from the first one. The storm tracker is very accurate and so are the forecasts. It's great to check before you go for a jog as you can accurately assess whether you will make it home and dry.

A proudly South African app

(As far as I can tell anyway)
AfricaWeather provides more accurate localised weather data for South Africa than any other app on AfricaWeather Store as it comes straight from the SA Weather Service. Lets me find more towns in SA than any other app I've used.
Very nifty to be able to tap the rainfall icon for a day and get the prediction for what time range and how heavy it's expected to be.
The predictions aren't 100% right but that's not AfricaWeather 's fault.

Stunning App!!!!

What a stunning App! I've had lots of weather apps before, but this one is by far the best! It works perfectly on both my ipad and iphone! Well done with AfricaWeather!

Slightly buggy, but still the best weather app for South Africa

The only app I have found with radar for SA. Push notifications are still a little ropey, but it's very cool how I get told about the weather here and now without having to open AfricaWeather .

Great App

The weather app all South Africans have been waiting for. The free features are more than I need. Very detailed and I haven't come across a town that I cannot find. Love AfricaWeather . It's been promoted to my home screen.

South Africa Specific App

The best weather service is now conveniently available as an app. Makes all the other apps redundant, because it has very good coverage of most towns in RSA, unlike all the international based apps.

Great weather app for South Africa

This is the best weather I've used by far. It costs a bit in terms of monthly subscription but it delivers on detail weather reports and graphs and maps.

Best SA weather app. Very good

Has the best up to date weather locations in South Africa. Live storm tracking and radar is awesome. Temps are way more accurate than any other weather apps or sites.

Easy and convenient

Great app! Love the notifications every morning. Easy to use, quick to find information . And best of all? Free!

Great App

Best SA Weather App in the market. Others will, however, remain more attractive give that they tend to cover the rest of the world. Still, if you never leave SA or don't have family abroad - then this is AfricaWeather for you.
