Very poor

2024-04-22

While the this app app performs adequately in tracking blood sugar, this app’s customer service is appallingly bad and dysfunctional. I have used the this app app for several years now to track blood sugar for type 2 diabetes. Recently, Glooko began displaying a prominent and annoying ad from Pfizer pushing its COVID vaccine. Glooko has a clickable button where you can ostensibly opt out of these advertisements for 90-days. It does not work. No matter how many times you click, the Pfizer ad remains, obscuring and distracting from medically important information. An email to this app’s customer service regarding the problem produced this gem of corporate inaction - with no resolution date in sight!-

“ Thank you for reaching out to this app Support!

I apologize for the inconvenience you're currently experiencing. I have escalated this issue to our Engineering team to investigate and determine a root cause and get this issue resolved as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a timeframe on when the issue will be resolved. However, I will let you know as soon as we have an update from them.

Thanks again!”

I’m switching to the One Drip app today.

Difficult

2024-05-26

Nothing but trouble. System my Dr uses. Old Nano died. New Guide near impossible to set up. Wireless connection kept going back to old meter. Had to follow set up every couple of days. Took months to figure our how to remove old device. Still inconsistent. The single device still says not connected at times. The lancets to be used with new meter do not have zippered place …… if I use new case would have lancets spilling out every time I open the case. Still using old one but strip container does not fit. I begin every day frustrated!!! If I was able to choose testing system this app would NEVER my choice!!!!!

Terrible company!!

2023-11-22

Glooko has a feature that adjusts the time on your meter when you upload. When I synced mine after the fall daylight saving time change, it marked my dates as 2021, with a note saying “this app has adjusted your meter time.” Clearly, the date is wrong.

I have reached out to this app to fix it, and they claim it’s a problem with my meter (it’s not; I’ve gone over the data with the manufacturer). So, now my data is screwed up, this app says it can’t be fixed, yet it has a provider portal that doctors (like mine) use to pull blood sugar data for things like insurance claims.

Oh, but it can’t be fixed. Wrong. The FDA would require a way to fix verified incorrect data (I work in medical devices myself). Not only that, but customer service has given me lip service for over a month with the conclusion that “it can’t be fixed.”

Either Glooko is a piece of junk, or the company is. Either way, I’m investigating new tracking options with my doctor because I don’t like giving business to terrible companies.

Won’t integrate and stay connected

2023-12-23

The latest update of this app app will not connect or HOLD a connection with my Dexcom G6 sensor. Keep deleting device form website profile and from Glooko and try reconnecting. I get to the point where I get to select the Dexcom G6 in the this app app and log into my Dexcom acct. Then it says I’m connected and then turns around and drops the connection again. Now I’m getting a dialog box saying that the device I’m trying to connect is NOT COMPATIBLE with Glooko . WTH! Very very frustrating as this is the o my way my Dr can see my data and make insulin pump recommendations.
Not useable.

App does not sync with my meter or Apple Health

2024-04-16

I’m a US Veteran and use the Veterans Administration or the (VA) for my health care. The US VA provides my meter (Accu-Chek Guide Me) which seems to be incompatible with your App. Glooko also will not sync to the “Health” app on the iPhone which the US VA uses to sync all of my health care data.

This seems rather short-sighted or in my mind TERRIBLE business sense because the US VA is one of the largest health care providers in the world which seems to indicate to me that you couldn’t care LESS about your Customers! Every day that I use Glooko (required by the VA) is IRRITATING since it requires me to manually add my data into Apple Health.

Please fix this issue.

This app is missing a few features

2024-06-03

I’m using this because the Omnipod 5 only sends data to this app. Glooko seems to be missing many functions the web browser has. The apps also only syncs once a day or so. But my reason for the 2 stars os because this needs an update to the Apple Health integration part. Only some devices send data to Apple Health and only some Apple health data is sent to this app. For example, although this app has my daily insulin and bolts info, this data is not sent to Apple health. Hopefully more Apple Health integration is planned for the future.

Doesn’t hold data

2024-03-02

I’m using the latest iOS version of Glooko and my phone has the latest iOS for the phone. I’ll put in insulin injection info and Glooko acts like it stores it. I come back later to Glooko , and the data is gone! I have no faith in Glooko storing information and I haven’t even started using a pump. If it cannot store information I enter manually, how can I trust it will store data from a pump?!?!?

Convenient, but lacking

2024-04-16

I only use Glooko because my provider wants me to since the clinic & hospital that I go to use it & my meter gets synced automatically. However, it lacks the ability to add meal photos or a line describing the meal (apart from the Notes section). More often than not, I don’t have the package of the food that I’m eating to get the nutrition information for it. For me, being able to see my portion sizes is more helpful than trying to count calories and carbs. I tried inputting everything I ate for a while but it was tiresome. I have 2 other apps that I like much better. Another thing that I don’t like is the inability to delete medication from the list once you entered it. I accidentally misspelled the name of 1 of my meds & couldn’t delete it so I had to enter it again. Since I’m not on that medication anymore, it would be nice to not have it in the list.

I like it me than I expected but

2024-05-14

I used another app for a while that I really, really liked, but switched to this app when I started using the Omnipod5 insulin pump and songs things carry over that did not with the other app.
I was skeptical about how I would like it but am pretty satisfied except for a couple of "wish list" items:
1. The ability to label certain foods as favorites.
2. List foods in alphabetical order.
3. Ability to change the measurement type of a good or drink - for instance, some beverages are listed by the can - it would be nice to be able to change that to ounces within the same selection. As it is you have to find a beverage set up that way.
4. Make changing amount/quantity easier: I use Glooko on my ipohone and in this app it is very difficult to click on the right side of the number of even select the white number in order to backspace over it. I do not have this problem with other apps.

The app stopped crashing, but is still ultra sluggish

2024-04-22

Glooko used to crash all the time, making it nearly unusable. Thankfully, one of the updates fixed that… now though, Glooko is still super slow a lot of the time. Quitting it and reopening seems to fix the slowness, for a time… it’s pretty annoying. I’m still sticking to it for now, but hope they get it together and fix these UX issues. This is more important than fancy-looking UI or features, IMHO. Performance is the best feature.

Horrible update

2024-11-12

The latest app update is a major step back in usability. Half the screen is filled with either useless buttons (the connected doctor button is worthless and never needed since they can pull the details directly) or items that cannot be removed (the getting started boxes are broken and cannot ever be completed, so they just waste half the screen)

Longtime Glooko User

2024-12-13

Longtime this app user & T1D.
Back in the day when I got my first iPhone, the iPhone 4s I immediately sought out a way to get my glucose data on my phone. This was back when they still sold the analogue cable to plug into the side of your glucometer to sync in readings into your device. I found this super helpful back then to share data with my doctor. Eventually technology caught up and began to have Bluetooth and cloud services so this app became a bit of a dinosaur and I stopped using it.

Finally transitioned to pump therapy after almost 30 years MDI via Omnipod + Dexcom.

this app is a partner with Omnipod apparently so I finally re-downloaded Glooko in an effort to track my insulin delivery with the software since the original omnipod system is a bit antiquated and requires usb sync to get data into the cloud for review.

Overall, Glooko hasn’t changed much amazingly. Slight improvements but plenty of room for growth imho. Also could really use a widget to reference delivery data, that would useful.

Syncing with Dexcom seems buggy. Works off and on, but not always. My app didn’t update for a week with glucose data even though settings confirmed I was actively synced with my Dexcom account.

Almost complete

2024-06-17

Glooko is very good. I especially like the large number of glucose monitors it syncs with and the reports you can print. However it has short comings: the food database is limited, so many meals you have to enter by hand. This could easily be solved by better integration with the apple health app which syncs with many fitness and dietary apps. This brings up the other shortcoming, it only syncs with the apple activity section of the apple health app. It does not share the glucose information or any of the nutrition info that you enter. This could be a 5 star app with better syncing with the apple health app.

After update on July 2 app won’t work

2024-11-02

I have been using this app for years with no problems but it seems after the most recent update Glooko no longer responds when you push the home, trends, or any other button you want to access. It also crashes and closes Glooko . Glooko has helped me get my A1c to 6.0 and I would like to continue to use it when you have a fix.

Great diabetes app for Type 1. Missing Apple Health Integration

2024-09-22

Pros:
-Easy to read graphs.
-Easy to enter information quickly without extra clicks.
-Excellent reports on website.
Allows entry of custom medications such as Symlin, GLP-1, etc.
-Data export feature (however this could be better; I have to select the email option and then grab the file from an email rather than export directly).
-Pleasing color scheme.
-Reminders for medication
-Displays average BG and insulin over various periods of time.
-Syncs with Strava for exercise data!
-Fast load without the extra useless eye candy of other diabetes management apps.

Cons:
-Does not write to Apple Health unless you have a CGM. For finger stick people, neither glucose nor insulin injections export to Apple Health.
-Does not import food data from 3rd party apps. PLEASE PLEASE add this! This will bump to 5 stars! Either a sync with Cronometer or a read from Apple Health will do (Cronometer writes carbs, protein, and fat to Apple health). If you read carbs, fat, or protein from Apple Health, then effectively you have added sync from other popular food trackers such as myfitnesspal.
-Export of CSV only vía email is a bit klunky, though it works.
-Cannot remove bad data. If you have sugar on your finger or use a strip to test to make sure it is really Diet Coke that the waiter brought you, those readings cannot be removed from your database - and mess up your charts.

Nice, simple, more than avg features

2024-04-27

For a free app, it surpasses expectations for features. Seems very simple to use and connects with devices. Offers you the chance to add notes, how you're feeling and explanations for your usage plus more. It even has food lookup feature! It's DEFINITELY worth a try.

Though, for someone who has complex health issues, this may not fit the bill. If you need to track blood pressure, heart rate, many meds, or other health related issues, this probably isn't for you. Otherwise, it's a great little app.

Nice Diabetes Data App

2024-09-08

I was turn on to this as starting to use an Omnipod pump, which so far is looking good.

I do wish Glooko supported data share for other carb counting apps like MyNetDiary or others as part of Apple Health data sharing (i.e., share carb and/or calories for food logging). I appreciate the ability to manually enter in Glooko but I have a history of data from other sources that I would like to include in charts, trends, etc. as it relates to carb/calorie tracking.

Not sure about the last update

2024-09-22

I really loved Glooko but this last update makes it very confusing and more difficult to enter notes and see your 1 week, 2 week, 1 month and 3 month averages. Before it was right there on the home screen, easy to read and change the options, now you have to dig around to find the information. Sometimes keeping it simple is the better option.

Improvements

2024-09-27

It would be beneficial to be able to manually add data to Glooko . I went on vacation and didn’t take my Bluetooth meter, I took a regular meter. I am unable to add that data to my log. Also, when I first got Glooko , I didn’t pay attention and added a reading for August 8, 2041. I would like to be able to delete this data or at least move it down to the bottom of my data since it’s 17 years in the future.

Glooko

2025-07-19

This is a very good app in most respects to keep Diabetes data. However, I would like to see food calorie count in the meal total. Daily totals for Calories, carbs, and protein should also be shown after all food for day has been entered. Recent COMPLAINT is that Reminders do not work for daylight savings time. The notifications come 1 hr too early (spring DST). Reminders should read time from phone time.

Finally!!

2025-05-20

I’ve been looking for an app like this for a very long time. For something to connect to my reader, other food tracking apps, etc! And compile the data to give me trends and averages! Thank you!! It is nice now I have something tangible I can show my doc to share that the meds are no longer as effective as they used to be!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

New Omnipod 5

2024-07-30

Started on my Omnipod 5,yesterday, from the Omnipod Dash. Love the automatic mode, and the report on this app looks like I probably will see improvements for my A1 C. That’s my goal to get my A1C under 7, presently running 7.2 down from 9.7 18 months ago when I started on the Dash system.

Great App!

2025-08-29

As a Type 2 diabetic, it’s refreshing being able to use an app that allows me to easily share my reports with my doctor.

My glucose meter easily pairs via Bluetooth and all I have to do is turn it on. Glooko has also allowed me to log my medications and foods in order for my dietician & doctor know exactly when I’m taking my medicine and what I’m eating! Also not having to pay a subscription is a huge plus!

Great app!

Great app for staying healthy

2024-08-01

I didn’t want to switch to Glooko because I had 8 months of data on another, but once I started using Glooko which was suggested by my Endocrinologist I realized that it was far better than Glooko I was using.

It gives great analysis and the Bluetooth works with my meter as well as many others.

Newly Diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes

2025-10-05

I have been struggling to find the right app to help me accurately monitor blood sugar - count carbs - track exercise practices without costing me a small fortune monthly. I like Glooko!! It’s user friendly and without effort found how may carbs in a sausage biscuit with the search feature!!!

Love this app

2025-12-02

Glooko is great for diabetes management - I’ve tried the others and they don’t compare. Love the features and ability to use various meters as my insurance company seems to change which one is covered all the time. Love being able to connect with Strava for workouts and there hasn’t been a good I haven’t been able to track in Glooko thus far. I’m having some trouble with the share csv function which may not be popular but I like having it so if someone could help with this that’s be greatly appreciated!

Great app

2024-08-01

If you are someone who likes everything in one place, this is Glooko . It has the best food log where you can search for food, enter your favorite special foods and it keeps a list of your favorite foods and computes the carbs for you.

It integrates and imports Dexcom CGM data, and insulin and carbs directly from Omnipod.

I have not been able to get it to successfully integrate with Apple health yet.

My only suggestions are:
1. It would be great if it directly sent the bolus instructions to the omnipod so you would not have to enter carbs and glucose reading into the PDM.
2. Because carbs are computed in Glooko and also entered into the omnipod, total carbs are doubled. Although on the this app report they are listed separately.
