iCarMode literally does nothing but overlay your screen. If you have to go to another app, it just opens up iCarMode . No integration within iCarMode itself. Not worth the money

Great idea but needs work. The music button literally takes ten seconds from the time you hit the button until the music player opens. Continually prompts you for your iTunes password...only asks within iCarMode . I thought Apple did away with thin kind of “fishing” for account access.

Generally spend a lot of time driving in my car and I don’t like distractions. Some of the dashboard features are quite good such a maps and where did I park. Great stuff. But the integration with music leans something to be desired. I listen to podcasts mostly and the integration options are pretty limited. Also, there is no alerts for incoming messages with the option to read our message and dictate a response. This was a built in feature of Cortana on Windows Phone and it is one of the features I miss the most. Add that and I will bump to 5 stars.

Unfortunately my favorite dashboard app isn’t available on iOS and I miss it terribly. iCarMode is okay but the screen is almost impossible to see in sunlight, Pandora doesn’t integrate with iCarMode ’s built in player, I can’t figure out how to change the order of the buttons, there is no speed display, I could go on and on. It’s nowhere nearly as good as what I came from. I wish I had thoroughly vetted iCarMode before I spent my money.

When using the Music function with Apple Music, the ‘Previous’ track button when pressed actually moves the music to next track forward, as opposed to backwards. Both Previous and Next track buttons perform same function. Huge bug that needs fixing. Nice improvements of late, but your software QA needs work.

I would love if you could view your maps / music at the same time. This seems like the obvious answer as these are the two most commonly used apps while driving, yet no car play ios app has yet to do it.

Will not load all of my music. Not enough player options on screen such as shuffle & repeat. I’d rather it take me to the Apple Music player.

Need to be able to truly turn off the features, fix compass problem (constantly changing direction) and add screen off setting with Bluetooth or usb loss.

It is frustrating that every time I want to log into iCarMode, I must sign onto iTunes. I'm not sure if this is due to syncing with Apple Music, but it is highly annoying and has prevented me from using iCarMode , until it is fixed.

App is really the only I could find on iCarMode store as a car dashboard. The shortcuts are pre-baked into iCarMode and you can't select other apps to launch without submitting an enhancement request for iCarMode .

iCarMode crashes when trying to move the position of 2 or more shortcuts at a given time so you need to move one shortcut > save > move next shortcut > save > etc. It's tedious.

It would be nice if there were other features too (e.g., automatically launch app when connected to my car's Bluetooth, set media volume when connected to app, change brightness when connected to app). I'm guessing some of these requests, if not all of these, are not possible due to iOS being super locked down but they'd be great enhancements nonetheless.

I have an ipad mini mounted in my car, and this solves a huge problem: the buttons on the Apple music app are just too small to use in a car. As a result, I now use this to play my music. It also has a nifty feature that is also really useful where it shuts off the music when the power is shut off to the ipad, stopping the music when I turn the car off. Admittedly, I don't use the other functions, but for these two things alone, it has become a go-to app.

YOU need this app. If your phone is on your seat or your console or even your pocket...YOU need this app! Simple in appearance and easy to use and set up.

This allows you to see all of what you need while driving on a glance on one app.. Music, phone, maps, contacts and favorites etc. just a big button tap away without the need of focusing in on your home screen and scrolling while looking for each app you want while driving. It even makes finding where you parked easy without having to scroll and it let’s you know if the meter needs fed.

Try it. It’s 5 star worthy in my opinion!

I really like iCarMode. I got it for my granddaughter who has a 2017 fiat Panda. It works great here in the USA and I will update this review when she gets it installed in Italy where she is working on her graduate degree.

I really like iCarMode, especially on my motorcycle. It has big glove friendly buttons and the ability to work in both orientations is extremely useful. iCarMode needs more shortcuts to other apps and the developer is very quick to respond to requests for them and any other needs. Great app.

Cool little app that does exactly what I need it too. The interface is simple to use and works well though I admit it does look a little outdated. Developer responds extremely quick to inquiries and that goes a long way. Overall I don't have any hesitations in reccomending iCarMode. Keep up the good work!

I have been debating getting a new head unit for my newish car so i can use apple car play but I would lose some important safety features. This fits the bill nicely to still be able to access the apps like apple car play without paying a lot to upgrade. The price of iCarMode is very reasonable and the podcast upgrade is totally worth it as well. No monthly subscription bills like the other app I considered. Well done, developer!

I have enjoyed using iCarMode and watching it grow to be better, as with all things, things that are worthy of use they only get better and iCarMode has proven to be one of them. With every vehicle in this day and age having dash cams and backup cameras and owners like having an older vehicle without the mentioned devices would be elated to be able to adapt them to iCarMode through an adapter, I use an iPad installed in my dash so I personally be thoroughly satisfied, thank you for sharing this with us.

I’ve had iCarMode for years. It works great in my new and old cars. Love it!

Nice App that fills a real need. Hope it keeps growing. Developer is extremely responsive via email.

(9-12 update) Developer addressed issue with additional custom buttons.

Use it all the time, but one custom button is not enough. Need to be able to read text messages and respond, hands free.
