Prey Find My Phone & Security Reviews

I had a party. Someone at the party stole my laptop. I went to the police. The police and I used PreyProject to locate my laptop location and we also activated the camera on my laptop and saw 3 guys in front of my laptop cutting up drugs. Police and I went to the their house and got my laptop back. I guess the cops are watching that house now closely.

PREY free plan was all I needed to track my laptop and phone from one central web app. That said, you need to go through the process of getting a signed certificate onto your phone which can be complicated for people who aren’t as tech-savvy as I am.

This thing is a train wreck. The people who wrote positive reviews are either related to the developer or high. I installed it and discovered very poor usability. I’ve been trying to close my account for over an hour and keep getting a message that my email address and password don’t match. I tried the “forgot your password” option (even though I haven’t) and that doesn’t work either. No email address or phone number to get help. If you try this and don’t like it, good luck closing your account. Stay away!

I have not read a review of this service in years. That said, my review is unbiased toward PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity.
It is great to have a backup tracking system in addition to "Find my iPhone". The alerts are timely, while letting me know that Prey is literally keeping tabs on my electronic devices.

Prey is one of those things that you set and forget (except when you change devices). I love the concept, PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity functions well, and I hope it never has to come in handy!

After finding out this is incompatible with any other management software such as Microsoft 365 I asked for my account to be cancelled. My request was ignored and then they charged me full year membership! Still no response from anyone and now have to contact my bank to remove unauthorized charge. AVOID!

I hope it does what it says it’s supposed to do. It is not easy to understand and set up. It’s repetitive and has to be filled in several times to make it take, and even then you feel you were just lucky when it finally says “You’re Protected”.

I wish the camouflage features worked a little better. For example if it is pretending to be a band app the icon should change to a bank themed icon and when you open PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity it will look like a mobile banking app login screen. Other than that it is great.

Every time I open PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity whether on my phone or my Mac I get frustrated. I just got a new iPhone x and logged in and PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity says I'm protected but the phone does not show up in my list of devices. This happened worth my previous phone as well and eventually it stated working but I'm sick of tech support emails. There has to be something better out there.

It doesn’t tell the exact location of the device or where the phone is located

Tried to delete a device and would not permit me. With credit card in website twice paid $5 for monthly fee. It’s not seen in my account although I can see the charge in my card statement. So I have twice paid and PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity will not permit me to add my devices. In their website the charge to my credit card is not reflected. Will have to contest the credit card charges if I can’t fix this. BEWARE.

I couldn’t agree more with previous review by saying train wreck. Ever since it was downloaded to my phone the phone will randomly power off, freeze on start up, camera completely disabled and gives errors and of course flashlight app won’t work either. Still trouble even after uninstalling and had to get another phone!!!! Don’t use PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity!!!!!!!!

I use prey on my iPhone and laptop. I never need to worry where my devices are because prey is always on. If one is missing prey tells me where it is located.

Having just downloaded PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity. Will be fully onboard with PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity soon as I locate my other phones and iPads what a great App. Again 5 Stars.

Didn’t want to rate it until I really needed it and it worked so beautifully.

Used to work. Maybe it’s the latest update or maybe it’s camouflage mode, but the screen goes black upon startup. Could be something to do with the “CAPTCHA I am not a robot” step. Either way it has rendered PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity unusable on my 2 mobile devices. If I can’t figure out a fix for this I’ll be uninstalling.

Often, the device locate does not work because the device fails to communicate with the server. Also, PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity lacks features and is slightly difficult to navigate.

Seriously what kind of creators force you to sign up for a premium service just to contact them directly. On IOS their login is missing files en. Files and I can’t even contact them to tell them. I’ll gladly delete PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity and find another source. Good job 🙄

Never lost or had device stolen but if I did I feel that with PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity I would recover it, thanks Prey.

Usually PreyFindMyPhoneSecurity works great, but currently when I type in my password to see my device information, the screen goes black after about a second. Not sure if this is a new update causing this or what? I’m on an iPhone X as well, maybe that could be it?
