Authorize Net Reviews

AuthorizeNet along with the card reader they sell for mobile transactions has been quite difficult and kind of more of a pain than it’s worth. When it works it’s fine but 3/4 times there is an error of some sort usually from the card reader.

We’ve spent hours with their support team who basically told us that the card reader needs to be 100% charged at all time for it to work properly… not very mobile for a mobile card reader. They also only warranty the card reader for 30 days, even though it’s $130. We’ve talked to other merchants with Shopify which uses the same card reader that’s $50 and works well.

They also told us that our main problem with connectivity was that other Bluetooth devices may be interfering and that we need to ask people around us to turn their Bluetooth off! Really?! When we are at events of course other people will have card readers and Bluetooth on. There’s seem to work so why not ours.

: it constantly logs me out which is frustrated when I’m at an event and there is a line of customers. If im only using the tablet or phone for transactions (meaning I’m leaving AuthorizeNet open) then it should perform efficiently and it doesn’t. Having to log back in is time consuming when I have customers in front of me.

as a merchant i should be able to create a catalogue so I don’t have to constantly physically enter a product name and corresponding price. This is also time consuming.

Needs lots of improvements!

Today I downloaded, enter was easy, I give the ok to the terms and conditions... but it crashes constantly. I can’t get to know the complete app because it keeps shutting down, I already uninstalled and reinstalled again and it keep doing the same think.

Installed, have had to restart repeatedly to get it to communicate with the card reader they sold me to use with it. Freezes when looking for firmware updates. Even after pairing and enabling the chip reader, still asks you which reader you want to use, but the selection list is empty.

Basic QA would be nice, guys. There’s no excuse for this!

AuthorizeNet is not good. The company offers terrible support and they make you change your login password seemingly monthly, and you can’t change them from AuthorizeNet . You just get a message that your login failed, and then you have to try to figure out why. Wish I had stayed with CloverGo - higher rates, but at least AuthorizeNet worked smoothly.

You guys are dealing with thousands of businesses and your app looks like a scam app. I don't even get notifications when someone purchases on my website. And when they do it doesn't tell me if it's settled or unsettled til the next day. There are no graph charts to tell you YTD or MOY, nothing. For hosting our businesses you guys should definitely make things easier for us to see our business numbers and give us notification

This is without a doubt the worst app I’ve ever used. Crashes whenever we try to print a receipt. Logs us out in the middle of a transaction. Only compatible with three or four specific printers. The one we have is over $300 and loses Bluetooth connectivity all the time. I can’t see my company using their services for very long. They’re fees are cheaper than a lot of companies, but you pay for it in the end.

Each time I launch AuthorizeNet it notes that it is the most current information however it is not communicating any activity in process. Meaning anything that has been initiated that is unsettled, pending, or settled indicated on the website portal is not indicated in AuthorizeNet . I have deleted AuthorizeNet and reinstalled logged in again nothing seems to correct the situation. I would definitely love to have the two in sync with one another as they have been in the past which would immediately allow me to give a five star rating.

Multiple times where I’ve had to use AuthorizeNet for company events, the reader has not worked. I have to manually input card numbers and it takes time. I’m rarely sure if it accepts it upon authorization. Also, it’s not great for iPhone Xs because the home swipe-up overlays the “0” on the # pad (“oops, sorry, one moment, ma’am”). AuthorizeNet functions are not very intuitive and we actually have to endure a mini training session every time on how to use it. For example, illogically select the “grayed out” area to enter the dollar amount. Not a great app. I wish my company would find an alternative.

Would be a great tool if a little work was put into it. Connection works great some days then other days I can’t get it to connect. It may say connected but then I try to run a card and it says “no reader found”. Pretty embarrassing standing in front of a customer and my equipment that I pay dearly for does not work.

I find this a very difficult app to work with. I have attempted to enter data under the catalog management page. It does not work. It doesn’t allow me to go to the ad page on any of the categories departments or items. I’ve use the chat function and called support. No one seems to have an answer. It would also be very helpful if AuthorizeNet was able to scan the credit card in as others do.

Transactions are fast when app is working but it frequently logs me out when barely any time has passed since logging in. It also has a hard time connecting to card readers and frequently fails transactions when nothing is wrong with card. It’s frustrating

Crashes all the time. If you try to download the template for inventory you get stuck on that page, only way out is the close AuthorizeNet . There’s no way to download the template. Should be able to download to PC or laptop and them upload.

This is a frustrating app to use as it signs you out after 2-3 minutes of use. Having to log in and reconnect to the reader every time you want to ring a sale causes unnecessary delays.

My login and password work fine with my computer, however it’s not possible to login with AuthorizeNet

It’s a little hard around the edges aesthetically, but that’s the worst. Functionally it’s sufficient, but a little lag over cellular is expected. I do like that I can use my phone, tablet, or laptop to complete transactions. The reader options leave a lot to be desired, and are over priced IMO; especially when manually entering the info is as easy as a few keystrokes. I don’t know what the cost to transact is, as I am an employee and just use AuthorizeNet , but if it doesn’t charge I would give it 5*’s

As a non-profit we collect donation and seat reservations at events. For donations, it would be nice to setup an item with zero amount but allowed to enter a variable amount when selected. Right now we have to add a Quick item, type Donation and then amount. It add so much time if you have to process 200 people.

I would like to echo the comment of another reviewer - we want to require certain things for transactions - address, phone, or email. It would be nice to have a custom field where we could enter an invoice or pledge number.

AuthorizeNet is good as long as you don’t care if you have the billing address of the card. We service locations and use the shipping for the services location but there is no option to enter the billing address.

The other problem is, when I contacted customer service to direct me to the “Shipping Field” I was told the phone app doesn’t have the option, which I found on my own by turning on the options in settings. I then told the customer service rep” by online Acct customer service” they should not this for the next customer asking the same question.

Overall, AuthorizeNet serves its purpose!

I don’t know why people are leaving bad reviews? This is the best you can get for free service? I am a website developer, I seen to see that AuthorizeNet have everything that we need from credit card processing to online transaction.
