Shopmium: Shopping & Cash Back Reviews

Been excited for this new App. love the interface and the savings.

good for saving money, plenty of discounted and free items. some glitches as i once bought an eligible item but didn’t receive cash back and customer service didn’t respond.

Loaded it 2 days ago and got my first $.50 today. No problems in getting the rebate. I did not use a coupon with the purchase so I don’t know if when I do that whether I will still get a rebate. The items are very limited but I do regularly purchase at least one of them on the list. I am not sure why I have to scan the entire grocery receipt in and that takes multiple photos. I really like that the rebate goes directly into my PayPal account. No hassle with checks. I am surprised that the rebate is limited to only one of the same item in your purchase. When I shop I usually stock up on my purchases so I don’t have to go back to the store more than once a week. Buy two of the same eligible items on this apps list but you are only allowed a rebate on one of them. What’s with that??? I will continue with this app for awhile out of novelty and hey..I am buying the item so let those $.50 roll in.

Limited products, longer than average turn-around time. Additionally, customer support is non-existent. Inquiries are always answered with an auto reply directing you to the FAQs, and the instruction that if you can't find your answer there, feel free to contact them again. Basically, your first contact is pointless because they don't read it. And you get no reply when you resubmit your question. Unlike other shopping rebate or mobile coupon apps, there is no way to review your submitted receipt, so if you have multiple receipts and lose track of which is submitted already, there is no way to determine if you are submitting a receipt a second time. They are quick to let you know that you have submitted a duplicate receipt, or to tell you your rebate is denied, but other than that, you will not hear from them. It seems as if they are understaffed, and under utilized by manufactures, which makes me wonder if they are a viable enterprise. There are several apps which are far superior.

Shopmium offers little products that are useful and their new updated railed are terrible. Receipts no longer accepted from stores they worked with for years and all receipts with coupons are now denied. There are many better apps out there. Use Ibotta, Savingstar, Plenti, or checkout 51 instead.

This company is basically paying for copies of all your buying habits by seeing when and where you shop, how you pay etc. It's not a "coupon". Coupons I clip from a paper I pay for and they get nothing else in return from me except maybe my new found love and loyalty to a product. I will not continue to send all my personal shopping habits and upload receipts ( which who knows if payment information is coded on the barcodes some how to some stores!) to be treated like I am stealing.

So long this app. You lost a user, although your app was hard to use and offered very few products I had any real interest in to begin with.

I've used Shopmium quite a bit and they have had introduced me to new products that I wouldn't normally have tried. For some rebates, Shopmium works great! But lately I've had several rejected without notification--just deleted from the 'my purchases section.' I usually use Shopmium in conjunction with coupons and usually have not had issues. But recently they have done a few rebates that were probably bombarded with use due to a 20 rebate limit on good everyday products and suddenly closed the offers without warning and did not honor the rebates (at least for me- which I did about 6 or so). So I will be very hesitant to use Shopmium until they make some changes, and I will never try more than I rebate at a time-ever.

The only thing I like about this app is that when you redeem an offer and it's approved, the money goes straight to your paypal account instead of having to reach a $20 amount before cashing out like other apps. The problem is that you will never be able to redeem an offer and get your money because Shopmium closes any time you try and upload a receipt. If you're persistent and try 5+ times, you can eventually get it to send, but each time it kicks you out you have to start the process from the beginning. The other problem is that it constantly reminds you that the last time Shopmium was updated was over 24 hours ago, but it won't let you refresh it! I'm so fed up with trying to use Shopmium. It's not worth the time and energy.

As others have said, customer service does not reply promptly to messages sent to them. Also, Shopmium has problems: after you scan a receipt, sometimes it will not go through even after trying multiple times, and Shopmium also doesn't update with current activity (something that's already been paid still says "in progress"). I downloaded the updated app since I wrote the previous comments, and now Shopmium doesn't work at all. It needs fixing, and more customer service reps are needed to provide speedy responses.

I wouldn't classify myself as an extreme couponer but I do love couponing to get the best deals on products I love. Stacking coupons is the best! And with apps like this app I can stack a sale, and a manufacturer coupon with an offer on their app for a super great price. I'm loving all of the new receipt apps and they are easy to use. I did watch a quick how-to video for this app as it is slightly different from the others I'm used to. I look forward to more offers for more savings.

I too, used to use and love Shopmium until they started to exclude most of the stores I shop at because they don't allow coupon "stacking". Why would someone go to the trouble of using your app to obtain a rebate instead of a coupon when they could simply use a coupon, if all they are going to get back from you is a rebate in the same amount as the value of the coupon? Other rebate apps DO NOT have this restriction and are much easier to use. Add to this the technical issues that seem to plague Shopmium makes this one a loser now!! Listen to your customers - how could you note that your average review now is down to 2.5 stars and not fix this.

Auto response emails are a joke- I've used Shopmium a total of two times- and then was told by them to change paypal accounts! I have had the same paypal account well over 10 years now and will do no such thing!
My wife used Shopmium briefly and quit when she got her blackberry back- 3+ months ago so I put Shopmium on my phone and created an account specific for me on my phone. So it's very clear that there's is only one account for Shopmium being used (well was being used-) for the household so what Shame on use being husband and wife sharing paypal account sharing bank accounts

I got Shopmium because I follow the Krazy Coupon Lady and she often refers to this app for combining offers for a greater discount. Unfortunately some offers are not eligible to be redeemed through their app because you already used a coupon on the item at the store. The fact that some items cannot be combined with other offers is really disappointing because you have to be very careful and read the fine print before buying anything. Even an item the Krazy Coupon Lady showed worked with their app they wouldn't honor for me. If your looking for a great app I would look elsewhere like ibotta they are really great and always give credit without any hassle.

this app is a great addition to shopping rebate app collection. This particular app is a bit different in that you do not need to collect a designated amount before being able to collect your rebate, it is transferred directly into your Paypal account once you complete the required survey. I do hope that over time Shopmium will continue to expand its offerings and update offers more often, but other then that it is a great rebate app!

I first used Shopmium yesterday, and will never use it again. First, it crashes every time I try to upload a receipt. Then, I purchased an item that was clearly valid, but when I scanned the barcode was told that it didn't match the offer. I emailed to see if I could still get my rebate. I was told no, that there was no way for them to still give me the rebate, even though the product I purchased matched the offer. Last, I just got an email about a different rebate that i submitted last night saying that I need to submit my receipt in its entirety which I already did! Shopmium is not worth the time or frustration. Stick with Ibotta or Checkout 51.

Being able to process multiple offers on a single receipt is a great new feature they've added. Use Shopmium in combination with similar apps to maximize your savings on brand name products. I would like to see the offers updated more frequently and also a larger quantity of items would be nice. Sometimes it crashes but overall I am pleased with Shopmium. I would recommend it.

Shopmium has discounts on some of my favorite products and some cool features that makes my life easier like where the closest store is to me.

The most intersting part of Shopmium is that you don't need to cut and clip coupons because you just take a picture of the receipt and you get the money sent into your PayPal account.

I'm excited to see what new products they come out with.

The only problem I had with Shopmium is scanning a long receipt. Most other apps allow you to scan second and third sections of the receipt right after the first scan but Shopmium has you go to another page for the section section of the receipt. The good thing is that they emailed me and had me attach a scanned copy of the receipt to an email reply.

So I don't use Shopmium a lot because I can't combine it with coupons. However, it can be useful when I forget my coupons. The only problem is some offers are only good at certain stores and you have to go look at the offer (every time) to find this out. After you've "discovered" an offer, why not include what stores the offers are available at in the offer list? You're just making it harder to use Shopmium!!!

I found Shopmium easy to use, payment came within 1 business day with no troubles. I love this! I never remember in store coupons so this is great for me. I had just gone grocery shopping before I discovered Shopmium, so I was really happy to find a rebate for something I had just purchased and be able to test Shopmium . Everything worked very smoothly. I got a dollar!!

When I first read through the reviews, I thought that Shopmium would be great; however, the offers are for things that you don't need. The way I see it, there are very little ways for Shopmium to actually help you save some money. I don't see offers updated very often and I'm not going out of my way to buy things that aren't actually grocery related or everyday purchases. I've had Shopmium for a few months and I still haven't been able to find/buy something that can get me a rebate.

I bought two items offered only on Shopmium. The transaction was among many other items at the grocery store to see how Shopmium worked. Scanned them and confirmed I had the right items. After, again I say AFTER scanning my receipt, paying, then trying to get my rebate plus all of the above, i get a survey that appears totally unrelated to those two items. It asked why i shopped at this location. I answered honestly about the entire purchase. IT REJECTED MY SUBMISSION.
I checked honestly regarding my WHOLE purchase of nearly 100 items AT THAT LOCATION. Some of the other items bought were for other deals, or coupons. But the items i submitted to Shopmium were not. But the question did NOT ask did you use coupons etc on the items you are submitting. It referred to the store, I figured THE WHOLE TRANSACTION.

THEN i look for a means to question , chat, or receive a chance to explain or give feedback becuz i believe explanations could possibly correct. . NOPE not available. So now I bought over $20 of items out of $243 for nothing because the developer of the questionnaire doesnt know how to properly ask questions. Now i know i may have misunderstood the question, but why not a chance to question the decision? And NO THIS IS NOT THE BEST REBATE APP. It has a world of change to get there.
I would not refer or recommend Shopmium in case you havent guessed yet.

If there is ever an issue, it’s horrible. I messaged them after a month that the welcome gift receipt was approved, but I never received payment for it. After around 3 weeks, I got a response that it was being forwarded to another department for review. Another 3 weeks, and got a second email saying there is no problem. I responded immediately with screenshots of Shopmium not showing payout and of my PayPal showing all payments from this app, specifically not including that amount. It’s been almost 2 weeks, and absolutely no response for this. Seriously. Over a month, and the response is “Nuh uh”?
I was pleased initially because my very first submission was approved and payment issued pretty much immediately. Then this. Use any other couponing app instead.

I activated an offer for products I purchased, scanned the individual items and uploaded the photo of the receipt, and it wouldn’t accept it. Got a notification saying I needed to take a photo of the receipt showing the date, time, etc… which I already did in a clear photo, but I did it again just to be safe. Got a notification again saying the offer “needs to be activated before” submitting the receipt… Which is strange because I did activate the offer before I submitted the receipt. Now the offer for the specific products I purchased is conveniently not showing up anymore and apparently no longer available… It was available when I submitted the clear receipt photos twice before :(

Everything seems to be going OK now but I joined and made my first and submission in January and never heard back and never received my cash back for that item. I tried to contact customer service, but never heard back. The offer is just sitting in my request stating hold onto receipt until offer goes through and I never did get the offer we shall see.

I especially like the no minimum balance required for payout directly into my PayPal account. Simply active an offer by clicking on it, shop, upload your receipt and get money back within a matter of a day or two. Such a simple app to use and earn money. Love love love!!!

I received credit for the first two purchases I made and then my next two purchases stayed in a pending status and been over two weeks. I have no way of reaching anyone to resolve this issue. I also can’t update any of my personal info. When I update it, it immediately changes everything including my bday. I regret linking my info to Shopmium. makes me very skeptical as to why they collect all that info. And then no way of reaching anyone. Regret down loading and sharing personal info. Please don’t make the mistake I did.

Shopmium must have a quota to reject items. I circle all items and it will clearly state item I’m
Requesting and they reject over and over or just plain deny my request. I even take multiple
Pictures of the receipt and they deny. No one ever responds back when you send a question.

I uploaded this , went shopping purchased my items, scanned each item, and my receipt! Went back into Shopmium and it’s saying to complete my account! I believe the original email is through the Google or whatever, so when I try to change my email it won’t allow me. It won’t allow me to do change password or anything. I don’t know how to get back into the original email to change! So I purchased items I normally wouldn’t! The help site is useless for ME! So now what??!!!

It’s pretty embarrassing to see people leaving such awful reviews for an app that hasn’t truly gained much popularity until recently. Of course there’s going to be issues as they work on Shopmium and fix bugs and unforeseen issues. No need to throw a temper tantrum over it.

I downloaded the this app app last week and got to use it while buying dog food. It is super easy to use and you’re able to see other brands you can save on you normally wouldn’t buy from. I love it and I will use it whenever I can!!

I just downloaded this a few weeks ago and i look through the deals about once a week. then i go buy whatever i need from those deals and i’ve saved so much money! Thank you this app!

Shopmium is great and so user friendly !! Literally activate an offer -buy item-submit receipt -and take a pic of the barcode-once verified -cash is deposited directly to PayPal -no need to request !! It’s automatic!!How easy is that!! Forget the days of clipping coupons! I am buying snacks, groceries and Beauty Supplies and getting cash back right into my PayPal Account. NO WAITING until you hit a certain Dollar amount.

Love the easy access to savings. Love that I can scroll through different photos of redeemable products. It’s super user friendly and I am excited to keep testing it!

They are very quick to return the cash to your account. I have not had any trouble. It’s my go to for savings.

I have not been able to use app at all. It won’t accept my receipts or anything. Contacted this app and they addressed a problem I did not have. After that, they would not answer me at all. I have asked several times for them to delete my account. No answers. There are a lot of bad reviews about this app. Wish I would have read reviews before getting this.

it makes me sad to see how many people buy processed food, and chemical filled products. why can’t there be coupons for healthier, cleaner & eco friendly products?

i hope everyone starts to wake up & realize that it’s really not worth it.

Shopmium is very confusing when submitting offers. I have submitted for offers then been denied. It’s not clear on which retailer you can submit for. Very frustrating after you bought the product! Sometimes when you submit fir a rebate and then they want you to send pictures and more proof when you’ve already done so!

I like it because it’s easy to use and it gives your cash back fast. Thanks

I purchased Cure which is a powdered Electrolyte drink and was supposed to get $4 back but was declined because I did not activate the offer before purchase but waited till I returned home. The offers have to evidently activated before the purchase. There doesn’t seem to be a way to contact customer service

I love everything so far about this app EXCEPT I don’t like how you have to tap on the item to see the details for what store(s). I would like to see more options for checking a products barcode or maybe different layouts for detailed or basic. I do love the offers and the amounts have been good! The payout is super fast which I LOVE! That in its self will keep me coming back and using Shopmium , as well as recommending Shopmium !

Downloaded Shopmium based off of friends’ success and recommendations. Was so excited to get to try it out. Unfortunately I can do nothing with Shopmium because I can’t read anything inside of it. I chose “United States” as my country and after the sign up process it opened Shopmium and everything is in French! I’ve looked all around the settings and there is no where I can find to change my language preferences so I’m completely stuck and unable to use Shopmium . Please please fix this bug! Or make an update that allows users to switch their language preferences!

I really like Shopmium. I just started using it, I plan on using it more. It seems to be easy my hopes is to keep saving so I can use the money for Christmas. By using Shopmium hopefully I will be able to get my grandchildren some a little extra for the holidays.

I love Shopmium and the rebates. Works great and I never have issues with payouts. I have saved so much money. I would definitely recommend Shopmium if you like to save.

I downloaded and installed in January 2023. I was able to cash out several items until July 05, when each one after a update failed their submittal process. I checked the list and added items, making sure they were not expiring, I scanned each item confirming correct, scanned/uploaded the receipt, took pictures of each item just like before July 05, all denied and all marked abandoned.
3 stars for receiving some money.
This could be a good app, I think since July some of your hired people need more training. I don’t make a habit of buying things for a rebate I do not get, so will be dropping and switching back to iBotta.

Shopmium was going fine, but then a few days ago it abruptly failed. All my rebates are being rejected as “not activated” which isn’t true, as I check Shopmium everyday and activate what interests me. The offers are not being activated on the HOST side until 24 hours AFTER I submit a receipt. The rejections are clearly on a timer from when I submit. Customer service refuses to acknowledge that there’s a problem and just quotes the handbook that I haven’t activated the offer. Their solution? Why, just go buy it again, of course! Uh, no, fix the problem on your end! One of the rebates is stuck as “pending” for the last 6 days, so I can’t even submit a new receipt if I wanted to. Customer service won’t even address it.

Shopmium is not user friendly. Why would you make someone select multiple offers and then scan a receipt and then scan the item barcodes as well without being able to see a list of items they are trying to redeem on? Switching back without cancelling. Please change this! Submitting doesn’t have to be automatic but it has to be better than this. My very first submittals were denied for no reason. I inquired as to why, said they would update and give me the money-and didn’t. When I go shopping it’s for a month, so yeah my receipts are long. It’s your issue you want a complete copy of it. I’m not really a fan so much because if I don’t get the current offers I submitted for I’m deleting Shopmium. 2 stars hoping it all goes through, this has to be easier.

Great when it works automatically. However, when there is an issue (like purchase of two products and one other coupon used) the help bot is useless. I got an email telling me my ticket had been updated but there is no way to access that response. Email has no link. Chat says to go to Help>Help Center>Contact us …. But here is no link fir “contact us”. If there is a way to talk to or hear from a person. I cannot find it.

Trying my best watching TikTok videos to see what I need to purchase. I finally tried a deal on toothpaste and bodywash, some items my bf and I use daily, why not get money back on things we use a lot? I need more practice but it feels great to get money back on essential items. Can’t wait to do better !!

I absolutely love Shopmium!! What’s easier than shopping and getting paid for it? It’s as easy as finding offers here ,taking a picture of your reciept and scanning upc codes. In a matter of minutes your cash back appears and you’re done. This is awesome!!!

I’d give it 5 stars if it had the following features: 1. “Search” button so that you could look up a specific brand instead of manually scrolling through all the offers. 2. Show the cash back amount on the main screen so that you don’t have to click on every offer to see it. Every other rebate app has these features!

Help center is just copy and paste responses, I have never received actual help and resolved any of my issues with them. I’ve lost out on so much money trying to replicate deals that other couponers are doing. They are starting to penalize people that are on multiple rebate apps, which is absolutely ridiculous. In my latest transaction, I am out $17 in cash back because they show “records” that I submitted this somewhere else. Honestly, it’s better to just skip on Shopmium, and stick with Ibotta and the others it’s not like we get many offers on here anyway.

So far I’ve done about $100 worth of rebates and almost every single time I’ve gotten money sent to my venmo with 10 minutes of submitting a receipt. Haven’t had a single issue yet so I can’t speak of their customer service, but I’ve been very happy with Shopmium so far

The coupons offered are great and for quality products as well. There’s a decent selection but would be nice if there were more offers. My only really complaint is the horrendous scanner. It frequently fails to work and requires you to scan each barcode after submitting your receipt that already shows the items you’ve purchased. Often times this leaves me digging through my groceries in the car and then sitting there wasting minutes trying angle after angle to get the camera to actually scan the barcode.

I loved Shopmium the first few times I used it. I submitted my receipt, and everything went smoothly. Recently I have had several offers denied because I didn’t buy the correct item. When I read the fine print, I confirmed that I did buy the correct items, and I contacted customer service and was credited for the offers. Now I have contacted them 3 times about an offer that they denied, and I can’t even get a response. It’s really frustrating. I’m not sure what changed with Shopmium , but it is now very difficult to get them to pay for offers that I did buy.

It’s like Shopmium does everything possible to avoid paying you. Multiple times I have had to resend the same info. I’ve had “requests abandoned and closed” because they wanted more info again but I didn’t get a notification and by the time I realized, it was too late. Now I have sent photos of my receipt and the product 3 TIMES (said store name and date weren’t visible but the other products I submitted on the same receipt were approved) and now they are saying the rebate isn’t valid at that store (but if it wasn’t I wouldn’t have been able to submit it). Haven’t been using Shopmium long, but I absolutely don’t recommend it and the $40 in rebates I’ve received aren’t worth the aggravation.

this app is a scam. Don’t waste your time downloading it and trying to figure it out. I am a huge couponer / rebate app user and I was excited for this app. They DO NOT give you the money back they promise. Over and over again, I will verify the offer I’m wanting to use…scan the item in Shopmium BEFORE purchasing and read all the fine print….once I submit my receipt and item barcode, they’ll deny it. They will argue with me through emails and basically drag out the process until it will just say “abandon request”….which basically means “you’re stuck with the product and we (this app) will not be giving you any money.”

Right now I have 4 separate items that supposedly have been “validated” by this app…meaning they approved it….but no money has hit my PayPal…and I’m convinced it won’t. Again, don’t waste your time or money on this Scam App.

I submitted receipts for items I had selected and when I scanned them it showed they were attached to the offers I selected. It says pending and then comes back to ask for a photo which is already there, because it says that it can’t read the date even though I made sure it was clearly visible. I even resubmitted the receipt and it gave me the same error message or said I needed to select the offer, after it had confirmed the offer I had selected was attached to the item I scanned. So needless to say I have submitted and resubmitted three transactions that are selected but Shopmium isn’t giving me credit for it.

I saved a rebate and even scanned the product in store to make sure it matched. It said it did, so I bought the item. Sure enough, when I got home suddenly the barcode did not match any active offers. I checked the offer and the item met the criteria but was now not accepted. I messaged customer support and it took three days for them to respond with “make sure there isn’t a second barcode disrupting the scanning”. This was well past the offer close date and they didn’t offer to just give it to me since I sent photo proof of the receipt and the item and the barcode to them. Ibotta would’ve looked at it that same day and given the offer to me so long as it met the criteria. Customer service is a joke and so is Shopmium

I have been waiting for months for a fix to missing funds on my welcome gift of all things. Nearly every single purchase gets debated and there is no alert to inform you of the debated item. If they don’t get a second copy of the exact same info they already have they void the request within a couple days. I have been told to keep waiting for a measly $5 refund for over 4 months with no update no matter how many times I check in. Shopmium should be removed from the play store

Shopmium can be really good, but unfortunately, there is no customer service no responses. You never get the money back. I keep getting the message validate validate and activate every single time. I submit pictures showing it is activated. I have pictures showing the reward was activated but they keep messaging me that it is not valid.
There is no customer service- there is not a live person or anyone you can email for assistance.
Don’t bother with Shopmium go to apps that really reward you.

I have to say that the customer service team has been outstanding for me. After a bad day of nasty ppl it was nice to actually be talked to like a real person. They actually seemed to care about my little problem and trying to fix it. So I just wanted everyone to no that I have had only good experiences with this app and their customer support goes out of their way to help u and to me that is outstanding. Thank u this app I love your app
