What a disappointing app for a magazine in the business of audio visual entertainment. The Total Film app is nothing more than a high definition PDF that needs to refocus every time the reader changes a page or even moves around on a single page. TotalFilmMagazine takes no advantage of the opportunities offered by the iPad in the way that dedicated, fully function magazine apps do. Golf Digest, for one, is designed for the iPad and provides videos, teaching visuals that the reader can control, outside links, and the great navigation system found on many dedicated iPad magazine apps including the New Yorker. I'm glad that I bought a single issue rather than the subscription since it is so cumbersome to read on an iPad. Avoid until the magazine wakes up. Separately, how about offering Empire Magazine in the US store as well. Would like to give that one a try.

gadlaw and your mom is crazy.. You two are stupid. Of course content is not free. You really think publishers are just going to give out their stuff for free. It's a "reader" app where you can subscribe inside and read issues and is the only way to subscribe. FYI all magazines in Newsstand are reader/shell apps and are all free.

Not easy to find on newsstands in US it was always a treat to find a copy. I could be sure of several hours reading pleasure to reward my successful treasure hunt. No longer a chore to find, the digital version is even better than the elusive hard copy. And instead of several hours pleasure I have a weekend of enjoyment. And if that's not enough I haven't killed a tree or accumulated dusty stacks of old newsprint.

I bought this a year ago and when my renewal email came last week this was the easiest subscription to let expire. Out of the whole year I had this I was only able to download 3 issues. Every time I would download the latest issues it would quit halfway over "connection issues” and I can download a whole episode of an hour long tv show in 10min but it takes a dozen tries over a few days to download a magazine issue?

The Magazine is pretty cool but I’d get the print version. This Digital one is a complete waste

I this digital download is fabulous however like the last writer to many ad's, I know the bills has to payed. I started downloading magazines because your paying $5 to $6 for a magazine full of ad's, haven't that said Total Films is a one of kind magazine. Love the articles & interviews along a few sneak peaks. Thank you & keep up the great work

Crashes at least once a week and often requires me to re-download issues are I sync--a process that is VERY slow and cannot be done in the background (in other words, if you close TotalFilmMagazine , it stops downloading issues). Good magazine and I don't mind paying, but this one doesn't work.

UPDATE: I have written to the developers twice, but NO reply and NO REFUND of my subscription. This is a complete and total rip-off and I will be contacting my credit card company to reverse the charge.

BUYER BEWARE!!!

Total film is great, period. Yet TotalFilmMagazine is poorly designed and buggy (some issues may be Apple's fault). Downloads take ages and are unreliable, TotalFilmMagazine crashes regularly. For some reason they insist on a style where the text is in a tiny box at the bottom with a huge picture above. Instead of scrolling across the whole screen the text remains limited which is very frustrating.

Magazine might be great but I wouldn't know because I refuse to pay twice for one issue to get it to download. If the devs spent half as much energy on making a functional app as they did on promotions, nag screens and assaulting the user with pop ups and interstitial junk, they might have created something worth using. I have never encountered greater friction in on-boarding. Idiocy. Don't give these people your money.

Great content! Add landscape mode and I'd def give it a 5.

I used to read EW but they updated their app and it won't let you read the mag and when I called to tell them, they had no solution. BUT, in the process, discovered Total Film, waaaay better than EW!

Why do iPad magazines not realise that just because you CAN have flashing logos and stupid popups everywhere doesn't mean you SHOULD! Every article (even the long ones) are on a single page and smothered in buttons and frames that make the whole thing look like a bad night in Atlantic City! Seriously, look at what other magazines are doing (Vogue, Wired etc). They may not have as many flashy buttons but at least you can read them!

A great disappointment. I hardly do reviews. This one is necessary. Pain point is that i continually need to download the issues that were downloaded a million times before into my library. Every time I check my library, it is always empty. I should have read the reviews. Great content but TotalFilmMagazine is, to say the least, well below average and needs major improvements.

Open newest issue yesterday to read and was hit with a commercial. I paid to subscribe and I have to watch a stupid commercial? No thanks. And 3 of the last 6 or 7 issues have has Spiderman on the cover. Slow news year? I have cancelled my auto-renew.

This magazine has all you would want/need to know about any and all films in/coming out to theaters.

This is all just a total scam! You can't search for free magazines in TotalFilmMagazine Store, because they're all free (to download, not subscribe). What was wrong with having magazines in iBooks, or with their own apps like The Daily. Now I have this worthless icon that I can't delete and I can't even merge into another group. I HATE Newsstand!!!

TotalFilmMagazine will take you to a subscription screen. It is stated you may purchase a single digital issue, or a subscription. It should also be noted that the terms & conditions, and Privacy Policy are only available online, meaning you have to have wi-fi to access them.

Well, you know, they give you a 'newstand' for magazines, and I'm guessing all the 'free' mags to try this are all not real, you don't get a magazine to examine, you get a screen allowing you the privilege of buying one of the magazines for about five bucks. So basically the free magazine list is a lie. So don't waste your time. FYI

Do not waste time on TotalFilmMagazine, developer lure users by free trial which does not exist. But since you downloaded it you paid it, because developer uses number of downloads app in its profit, and you can not delete TotalFilmMagazine from your downloads.

App won't open. Immediately crashes. I can see the last article after double clicking home button but once app is selected it crashes.
