All PayByPhone attempts in Brighton this morning 12/9/‘24 into the rest of the day appeared futile. People getting “your card has been declined” messages. I was with 3 people in Stanmer car park at 10am all having the same problem- app was out of action so left notes on vehicles. Spoke to traffic warden in kemptown around 1.30pm to ask about the app problem who stated they had been told not to issue parking tickets until the app was working…. There has been absolutely NO INFORMATION been given as to firstly an ongoing problem and secondly when the app would be working again. How many people rang their bank to check if cards/accounts had been compromised? No information in the local news/web either. Someone indeed reported they had been issued a parking charge today due to the app not working. There should be warnings issued on the Brighton PayByPhone app plus Brighton council parking website informing customers when delays to app management occur. Not acceptable.
Tried to call twice this morning, line goes silent at the end of the intro. I couldn't pay for parking and now have a parking fine!
Everyone I use the app I get to the last screen where I tap to pay by credit card and it just buffers on the processing action. I then get an email to say I have paid but I can’t come out of the app to use it again as it continues to buffer.
Today is Wed., Nov. 1, 2023 and I’ve been attempting to pay for parking since 4:30am. I’ve been using the app for months (see parking history) and this is the first time I’ve received a “payment declined” error. My bank account is active and has adequate funds. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app but the same error occurs. It is now 8:00pm and I’m still unable to pay. Please advise, thank you.
This year, the app fails to warn me when time is expiring! I almost got a ticket because of this. The phone used to warn me with vibration and sound a couple years ago. Android phone Samsung A520 (2017). My settings are the same and all other apps make warning sounds and vibration properly.
Several times tried to park at 83441, but app says "select another vehicle to park at this location - your vehicle is not authorised to park at this location". This also happened at 83700 on another day. Also wouldn't allow me to pay by telephone.
The app will not work in Lambeth. I have trued multiple payment options. It says cards registered pin recognised etc but transaction always fails. Useless
I am unable to use my PayByPhone app as it has logged me out and will not enable me to log in again. The message I receive is: Sorry, an unexpected problem has occurred. Please sign in again to retrieve your parking profile. As I have forgotten my password when I attempt to ‘sign in’ - if it allows me to request a ‘Password reset’ (it has several times crashed before this point), it does not accept not accept my log in details with the code I have been sent. I have tried turning off my phone (which is an Iphone 13 mini, bought new in the last 6 months) but this has failed to resolve the issue. I have now been trying to rectify this for three days - having hoped that it might have been caused by a temporary App error but to no avail. Please could you advise. Many thanks
On 27/07/2027, could not add my Visa Debit card. In the Borough of Hounslow some location e.g. Hounslow West supports Amex but some don’t. Message displayed on iPhone showing £4.50 for 2hours. Some misleading messages appeared on the screen e.g. “Pending Charge” & “Validation of card” Came back in one hour and found Penalty Charge Notice (£40.00) on my wind screen. PCN: NJ36729530. The last few times I've used pay by phone to park it has failed to notify me that time is due to expire even though my settings indicate that it should. Narrowly avoided citations as I rely on the notifications to allow me to extend parking times.
