Ukulele fret board trainer

I am left handed, so there is no option to switch alignment in Fretuoso . I want to cancel my subscription, but there are no clear directions and it is not found on my Apple subscriptions in settings. This means I will have to call my credit card to cancel. Not good. Please do better in the future. Yours, Lin Buer

Wrong # of frets for bari uke

Sadly, this program doesn’t well for baritone ukulele. Yes, you can select ukulele for your instrument, and select baritone tuning, but the instrument you see does not have enough frets. The ukulele that you see in the training has 12 frets between the nut and where the neck joins the body. But on a baritone uke, it’s typically the 15th fret where the neck joints the body. You want to train your mind that at the 12th fret the notes are DGBE. But you do NOT want to train your mind to “see” this pattern in the wrong place, in relation to the body of the instrument. Any chance of adding a separate instrument for baritone ukulele? Or perhaps a feature where you could specify the number of frets?

Okay application and too many adds

Fretuoso is okay. It would be nice to have it in landscape, but the notes do not rotate so it it too hard to use in that orientation.

Fretuoso is plagued with ads. Very so many interactions an ad will pop up. When you make a certain number of navigations an ad pops up. In a span of about 30 seconds I have 3 different ads pop up. It is annoying because you have to sit and watch them for a minimum period of time.

I do not believe I would recommend Fretuoso.

True left hand mode please!

Re-ordering the strings while keeping the headstock on the left is wrong. I really want to like Fretuoso and it's wrong to judge it harshly solely on this one issue, but this is a big deal. If the shoe (literally?) were on the other foot, you would do something about it.

Edit: I’m disappointed that this hasn’t been addressed, years later. Left hand guitar isn’t upside down right hand.

Way Too Many Adds

Fretuoso has potential, but once you get going, you are inundated with adds. If you play the game portion, you actually spend more time being forced to watch adds than playing. Of course, you can pay a fee to remove the adds. Why bother when there are other free apps that do the same thing. I finally deleted Fretuoso after getting tired of all the adds.

I hate the change

I hate to change me I used to be for the lower notes actually saw the note now you what you do is you use 8vaTo see that it is lowerThat was helping me am I note reading
And now I don’t even get a guitar song for some reason that feature is not working with you click on it or not can I get the light version back again

Paid for the full version, kinda regretting it.

Generally speaking Fretuoso has a very dated Web 2.0 looking interface and it’s lacking in all but the most basic features that other software offers. Want to practice with only naturals? Sorry! Want to specify *any* options in ‘game’ mode? Again, nope. Want to increase the difficulty and skip the first 20 or so levels of basic 5 fret quizzing? Sorry! I was hoping for a ‘note hunter’ mode where you could be given a note and have to track them all down. Fretuoso is super basic, practice mode and a progressive difficulty quiz mode, that’s it. I recommend looking a Fretonomy instead.

Decent but too many ads

Great teaching app but the ads are absolutely overwhelming. It is not worth the time wasted in ads.

Partially Fixed

Another update:

App back to being “mostly great”... can’t turn off sounding the notes. Everything else is fixed.

————————————-
Update: now neither app will open (only goes to gray screen and then hangs until it times out and returns to my desktop).

It feels like it may have something to do with trying to sync with the cloud and then crashes. I did use Fretuoso every day. Now I can’t get it to run.

I am on an iPad Pro 11.0 w/256 G memory and LOTS of available storage and latest iOS.

—————————-

I owned both apps and purchased “all” instruments on both apps ($14). Now, it appears, I only need one of the apps to have on my iPad so after updating today, every time I open either app I have to reset the “restore purchases”... I’m sure this is just a glitch that needs to be corrected. I only rated Fretuoso one star so the developer will be sure to see it. When this is corrected I will again rate it 5 stars and remove this review.

Thanks!

I want give this 5 stars

Fretuoso is great for when you’re on the go: on the bus, in-line, or in bed. If you want to learn the notes on the fretboard without caring your guitar around it’s perfect BUT the sound will not work on my phone! I need to hear the pitch. All in all great app!

Excellent tool, Yet Fun!!

Glad Fretuoso was created. Covers learning the keyboard and staff as well as other skills such, as basic ear training, in a fun and engaging way!!

Keep up the good work!!

Helpful Learning Tool

Fretuoso is helping me to “burn in” the notes on the fretboard (I.e. associate the piano keyboard with their locations on the fretboard).

Great app for learning the fretboard

I’ve tried several apps and definitely like this one the best!

Ease of use …

“The more that you can show “would-be” guitarists direct lines to “real-world music” …

the more that these dreams can become new ideas, ready to adapt to any number of dreams
!!!

Love Fretuoso!

I use it for learning notes on the mandolin fretboard. It's fun and helpful. A feature I really like is that you can limit the number of strings it quizzes you on.

Very handy . . .

It’s great to be able to fill in those lost minutes while sitting in a waiting room or a traffic jam with the all necessary practice, practice, practice.

One Request!

Can you fix the game exiting arbitrarily? I’m using the 8 string guitar and very frequently, without any particular patter of usage, the game exits!

Other than that, I love Fretuoso! And you’ll love it too!

Love it. Wish 4 1 improvement.

I LOVE Fretuoso. The only ask I’d have is if there could b an adjustment for image size. OR, even better; a version for pc. U can’t see the whole fretboard on my smartphone.

Great!

Great app! I highly suggest upgrading to your instrument for a couple of dollars. It’s simple and great for practicing in situations like riding a bus or someplace where you can’t play. I also love the leaderboard feature! It pushes you to do more! I would recommend this to anyone.

Love it. Great app...10 minutes at bed time and u are on a our way
