This is my communication with their support member:

The reason many users attempt to download an app version remote is because either their original remote is missing or doesn’t work. You don’t have any written disclaimer which I’m your own words “ The authorisation screen is a Samsung protection to allow a mobile device once.
The only input device for a TV, is the physical remote”. So the only fact in this situation is that I wasted several hours of my time trying to get your app functioning that clearly could have been avoided if you only would have provided the information that you clearly have knowledge of. So perhaps is a fair assumption. to state 1/2 of the 7 million downloads were frustrated uses who eventually got no use from SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi. So please don’t count me as a user in your statistics. I agree SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi is free to download but you have premium upgrades which I would have been interested in but instead I’m forced to put all your hard work in the trash. My time is valuable so perhaps you should consider reimbursing me and the million other dissatisfied users as well who got nothing out of this but a headache. It’s obvious that you don’t mention this because you don’t want to turn away potential customers at the front door even if that means not being upfront and honest. A simple one like disclaimer would have saved millions of folks like me from attempting to accomplish the impossible. This is no way to do business!!!!

This is by far one of the best apps I have come across for replacing my Samsung tv remote. The original remote that came with tv is very hard to use. Unlike most tv remotes... the channels are located toward the bottom, the layout takes some time getting used to, and you can not see it in the dark. With the MyTifi remote, this eliminates the hassle of these issues. I also love the feature of the mousepad when using the internet through tv. It makes it so much more easier to use. It even brings up a keyboard to type in for searching, which saves so much time. Way better than the one letter at a time, that is normally entered with a regular remote. And if you are an Apple Watch owner, it gets even better, as you can control every function from the wrist. The layout for Watch is very well laid out and simple to use. Love controlling the channels, volume, searching, etc from the watch. There are so many features and choices for SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi that you can not go wrong with it. For the $2.99 I paid, you can not beat its price, function, and usefulness. Not to mention... you could not go buy a new remote for that price. I normally do not give reviews, but this is one app I would give 5+ stars.

I love SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi! Seriously... I don’t know about you but somehow my TV remote is always disappearing, especially with my 2 year old twins running around. Also, my husband does not know or care to know about technology in today’s world. He’s stuck in the past you know with the cassette players, flip phones, and his response to “Do you have a Facebook page or Instagram?” is along the lines of “Why would I put my face in a book? I can see just fine.” or “Instagram?? Woah man we don’t do grams around here” yeh that one made me spit my drink out. Oops! But OMG! I wish I would of recorded his face one night when the remote vanished and I casually grabbed my phone and turned the volume up and I looked over at my husband and I have never seen him so amazed! So I think he intentionally hides the remote now just so he can see if my phone will control the TV again. I might just have to teach him how to use a smart phone here soon because lately all I hear is “Can I change the tv please can I use your phone come on let me!” Lol I love my husband he definitely keeps us smiling! Awesome App! Great job! Easy to use... even my cave man husband can operate it! Very handy! Two thumbs up!

Well I hadn’t used the Apple Watch app since I originally got SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi . But now I see it has been updated for Apple Watch and does allow you to turn tv off and on from watch. Even better, I was originally happy with remote use from phone but now that I can use my watch that’s an added bonus. I’ve had no issues or other complaints. Perfect in my book. Thanks for the response and update. Works perfect.

Really handy works perfect from phone. Does all I need and more, I was happy to pay for it. It’s a perfect price that definitely cheaper than purchasing another remote from in store. I do however wish that I could turn my tv off and on from my Apple Watch. It is laziness talking but if that was added it’d be that much better. Overall I’m happy. Would purchase again without a doubt.

My phone is always close by so SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi makes it a near perfect way to replace the out of reach original remote.
Occasionally SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi remote doesn't find my TV on the first try but I'm not sure if it's a network issue or TV issue as I've found all three of our Samsung smart TVs to be sub par. (Seriously if you are in the market for a smart TV avoid Samsung)
SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi remote does everything the original does except turn the TV on. The biggest bonus of having SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi on my phone is when my wife is fumbling thru trying to find something with the original remote and I can simply take over without saying "here... Give me the remote"

After years of great reliable service, SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi will no longer connect to my Samsung TV.

Nothing changed on my home network and I verified that the TV is connected. SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi simply will not recognize the TV.

It’s a shame, since I loved SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi and use it all the time.

Hopefully this will be resolved soon!!

Update:

Just as sudden as the inability to connect, it is now working as advertised.
Not sure how or why, but I’m not complaining. I have my remote app back!!

Just verified all is well with my WiFi network,, TV & iPhone connected,,

Figured it out, sort of.
Not an issue with SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi (sorry MyTiFi)
My Samsung not-so-smart TV just drops the internet connection, for whatever reason. Shows: connected to the network, but not the internet.
Monkeyed around with the DNS settings,,
No change.

After resetting TV, seems to work,, again.
Not sure why but at least I know how to fix it in the future.

Really appreciate the hard working in making SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi and even more so for keeping it update. Just got it today and I’m loving it. Works flawlessly. One small minor issue which I’m sure will be addressed at some point - I’m using it strictly for the Apple Watch and am wondering if there’s a way to make SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi just a tad more stable. Quite frequently, my watch is having a hard time reconnecting after the screen goes off on the watch. Sometimes it takes several tries to reconnect again. Again, I’m sure you’re hard at work keeping SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi updated so I’m not worried about it. Keep up the good work!

My boyfriend and I recent got a new smart Samsung TV and we immediately lost the remote and were just navigating with the knob on the back (really complicated btw) and SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi literally saved our lives!! Only $2.99 to turn on and off, (or you can leave your tv on at all times [with a screensaver] and just use the free version~~) even the cheapest universal remotes at the store are still like $6, AND you can still lose them again!
Works better than the actual Samsung Smart TV app! Great purchase, worth the money, and love the convenience of it on my phone!

Purchased the premium version to use with my new Samsung TV. Works well and has lots of features. Since they didn’t have my specific remote, I emailed them to ask about creating a macro for the Sleep button. Martijn, the developer, replied in just over 12 hours with a detailed and super helpful response. He took the time to carefully explain what I was likely doing wrong and how to fix it. He also let me know they will be adding my specific remote in a future release. Very, very impressed. Thanks for going above and beyond to help a new user!

I have my iPhone at my side all of the time, my TV remote...not so much. If there was only an app I could use on my iPhone to totally replace my Samsung remote. There is!!!! The myTifi app works for every function on my remote. Sometimes Samsung updates the TV software and it breaks things on SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi , the support team at myTifi is the most responsive team I’ve ever dealt with. I reported issues and to my surprise they got back with me within minutes. Then they actually told me when they fixed it so I didn’t have to wonder, nobody does that! Thank you myTifi!!!

Been using it for a couple years across different Samsung TVs and different iPads... top remote by far and I’ve tried dozens! Currently using it on 2 TVs. Instantly connects to my TV as SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi opens, remembers the connection even after closing/opening app (many other apps lose the connection and have to rescan for TVs), so many model-specific remote layouts to choose from, trackpad/keyboard is so helpful for Smart TV’s browser, and their customer service (quick turnaround time) is the best.

So far the remote is the best I’ve used to date. It is really good and without knocking it one bit. it could even be great. Functionality is good. Quick channel is good. Be nice if it worked with apple TV but oh well. Doesn’t control the cursor while in browser. Takes the long way to input browser info when working in safari or google. Has quick keys to channels but not to locals like You Tube, Netflix and so on. Even tho I noted herein where it could be better, don’t misunderstand it’s a really good remote… just could be great!!

What a gem! My new goto app! There is nothing I don’t like about SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi. The What’s not to like? Serves my needs well. I may need to contact Support to remove a bad IP address scanned from an incompatible TV so when MyTifi launches it only reconnects to a valid IP address for a compatible TV, though.

Suggested Enhancement: Enable Haptics by default unless doing that would degrade software or hardware performance of iPhones EARLIER than iPhone 7 running the current version of iOS. Even if this is not done, MyTifi is top notch!

I got the premium version for SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi and I have not been disappointed. This is one of the only apps that I have found that is able to turn the TV on. That feature turns my phone into a standalone remote. Also the new update adds a fresh new look. The most responsive Samsung TV remote out there. Would definitely recommend and if you have the extra money you should definitely buy the premium version.

SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi works great! Set up as easy. The only possible complaint I have is that you cannot turn the TV on from SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi remote. However, you can easily Control and turn the TV off. If they would allow you to power the tv on from SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi You would never have to find the original remote again. For this reason and this reason only I give it four stars otherwise it would have been the perfect app.

I’ve been having trouble turning the volume up and down on my Samsung smart tv fir about 2 months. I’ve tried over 100 different apps and couldn’t find one that worked or didn’t have a subscription to use it. SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi connected right away and has not asked me to pay for it. Overall very satisfied and highly recommend SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi

I paid for the premium version to be able to turn my tv on with SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi but it doesn't work. It has worked before to turn on. t tv but most of the time it doesn't work. It even says my tv supports "switch on". Other than that, SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi works great

I've tried all the Samsung remote apps and this is by far the best. The smart remote feature is excellent if you are using over the air TV. The navigation feature makes using the web browser great to use. The only improvement I can see is the ability to add macros to buttons on the remote. If you could rearrange the buttons on the remote for a custom layout that would be cool too.

Supreme for moments when you’re just quickly trying to 🔇⏪⏸⏹⏩ your screen but can’t find the remote if your life depended on it 😂
An excellent alternative to baskets full of mostly dysfunctional remotes hanging around your coffee table.
Next next time you lose a remote, simply ring your mobile and carry on. That is of course provided you remembered to charge it.

My dogs kept chewing the remotes when I’d fall asleep and drop “em from my hand.
Bless whoever invented and/or designed MyTifi because I stopped replacing those costly remotes. The fact it works perfectly and never gives me problems is the icing on top but that’s not all. Having my remote integrated in my smartphone means I needn’t worry about losing it. One question,
“Hey Siri where are you?” 😂

You have the best app overall in SamsungSmartTVremotemyTifi Store. I would like a widget and a black UI as well as Siri shortcut support and like remote tv by quanticapp. It would be nice if you added a 3D Touch feature to power your tv on and off like Remotie.

It would be worthwhile for a GUI update similar to Samsung Official app design or better yet for each model everyone has the ui can reflect the manufacturer’s GUI.

I love how I can label each channel network with an image however I wish I could just scroll and not press arrow buttons up and down.
