Wishing For Improvements

I have been using Wordfeud for a cpl of years or so. While I have enjoyed it, I’ve been frustrated so many times that I finally decided to speak up. My biggest complaint is the short timespan before being automatically resigned from the game. Sometimes I just get busy and can’t get back to it that quickly, and I will lose track of the game timeframe. That said, my 2nd complaint is that there is no clearly visible timer on the game, showing the remainder of time left. 3) Words that are recognized in Scrabble and Words With Friends are not recognized in Wordfeud, some of which are pretty common. 4) I wish the “Resign” button was on the left or top side of the board. Idk how many times I’ve accidentally hit it while holding or moving my iPad or phone and been resigned from a game. Very frustrating. 5) The list of ppl I’ve played games with seems to disappear after about 30 days. I’ll go back to start a new game with someone & there will be NO-ONE listed. ☹️

Happy Anniversary Wordfeud

I’ve been playing regularly for about a year and a half. I began when my mom went into skilled nursing care so that we could play and chat with one another. This was the only game of this sort that I found compatible with both of our devices. She’s recruited some staff and additional family members to play too. She is able to chat with me through Wordfeud when her other messaging app was being contrary and that’s been a blessing on more than one occasion.
No 5 stars due to some words not being in the dictionary and in my experience it doesn’t keep accurate statistics. I’m not too into my stats (I lose a lot of games 🤓) but my mom notices and it prompts “why” this or or “why” that.... and I have no answers.
I was unable to visit my mom for about 2 months after our state COVID-19 quarantine but Wordfeud allowed us a lil fun with one another till visits could resume. Thank you!

The Best of The Bunch

Great game. Love the simplicity and the lack of annoying, childish glitz that Scrabble now features. So, how could this app be improved? First (and most important), reduce the turn time from 72 hours to 24 hours. 72 is insane and there are some players who intentionally drag out games, hoping the opposition will forfeit. Second, allow us to vet players before we play them, like Scrabble used to do - also, don’t force us to “accept” or “reject” immediately when a player wants to have a rematch. Allow us the ability to eliminate that screen and think about it.
Finally, the letter distribution algorithm is sometimes incredibly frustrating. Lately, I’ve been getting racks full of consonants for almost the entire game. Seems very calculated, not random.
Oh, one more thing - please make the letters on played blank tiles red. They’ll be so much easier to find on the board. Thanks! Big fan!

Good but hampered by small dictionary

Word Feud is much like traditional Scrabble. It is not gimmicky-it fills the bill for serious word play. My issue is that the dictionary should be expanded. It currently lacks some modern words as well as some older words- including obsolete words or alternative spellings- which most games have. While this makes it more difficult, it also makes it more confusing as players might assume a word that is accepted in nearly every other word game and appears in crossword puzzles, is valid. Unexpectedly, it is not accepted in Feud. Also, there are some very lopsided tile distributions. Sometimes a player will get a hopeless streak where there are no good letters while the opponent romps to victory easily. This does not seem to have a solid basis as in previous games. If the two issues are worked out, this would be the best of the word games currently offered.

Superior to Words with Friends in every way

I’ve played thousands of games in WWF the last 10 years and watched that game become a bloated mess with “power ups” and coins and other dumb unnecessary extras. this app goes back to the basics in both function and design, and it plays and looks great. And you can tell that a lot of thought has been put into so many of the little things that make the overall experience a pleasure. The one wrinkle that this app indulges in is the option to play on a random board, and honestly I love it. It makes every game interesting and different. The only thing I miss from WWF is Tile Bag, but that’s nothing compared to the flawless execution of everything else. this app is just fantastic.

TOO MANY VOWELS

December 20, 2020:

Nice update but it seems you still forgot to at least humor changing the ratio of vowels to consonants. I can honestly expect that in every game (literally) I will be faced with several line ups of all vowels with maybe one consonant. And still, even when I exchange several A’s or E’s, I get them right back. But now matter how insane this drives me, I won’t resort to Scrabble Go or WWF. Oh well!

AAAEIEI
EAEAIEU

November 6, 2020:

Just exchanged the following:
ANANTAE
and received this in return:
IEASEOS

I’m definitely winning this round! 🙄

Oct 31, 2020:

The vowel issue continues and feels worse. Too many times, combinations of letters like these below are my options and when I exchange, many of the same vowels return or are replaced by an equally useless different vowel. 🙄

AAIEEUE
EAEEIOS
QEEUOA
EAEEEIU

Initial Review:
So far so good, I’m glad this is here after the EA version of scrabble went away and was replaced by the childish garbage of Scrabble Go.
My only gripe is that there seems to be an unusually large amount of vowels in the bag. I’m constantly bombarded with 3-4 of the same vowel (EEEE) and exchanging tiles will often bring back the same vowels I was trying to swap out. I think there could be a greater balance of consonants and vowels or some similar adjustment.
Otherwise, all is good.

Word fanatic

Here we go again. I select random and keep getting people I have previously played. Again, if I want to continue playing another player, I add them to my friends list and rematch myself. I’m getting ready to go back to WWF. This seems like an easy fix in your multiple updates. Please stop doing this! previous Word feud is my favorite "scrabble" app. However I have one issue that is really annoying me. When I want to play someone new, and request a challenger, very frequently I am matched with someone I have already played. If I wanted to play with them again I would add them to my friend list and request myself. Stop doing this! Update: again, please stop automatically matching me with people I have already played. I would request a rematch if I wanted to play them again. Some people mistake Wordfeud for tinder. It’s really annoying and cannot be random because it happens so frequently.

Connecting family during COVID-19

I’ve played this game for many months now, but as the quarantine and stay at home restrictions came into place, I’ve used this game to connect with family members near and far I can’t go physically visit. For example I’m in Oregon and my aunt is in Colorado, and she loves playing this game with me and with my mom every day. It also has a handy little text message feature in the game that lets you chat back and forth with your opponent. The only thing I wish they would change is to come up with a way for more than two players per game, as the three of us would like to play a game together. This is a minor criticism, however. Overall, I love this game!

Mixed bag, limited community

On one hand it’s underdeveloped: no game history to review (once you delete your game from the main view it’s gone forever, apparently), no extra frills like the ability to check your word before you play it. On the other hand, the refreshing lack of garbage that has ruined the other apps is what makes it worthwhile. The biggest problem seems to be who’s using it (or rather who isn’t). I’m 20 games in and haven’t come close to losing yet, which is unusual. In any past scenario I was maybe a top ten percent player, but I’m starting to get the distinct sense I’m top 1% among Wordfeuders, which is making a satisfyingly challenging game in which I don’t find myself passing so as not to run the score up hard to come by. Good pick for very casual players.

Better than THAT other word game

I was an avid player of another word game but over the years that app became unusable with ridiculous in app purchasing and harassment through the chat feature.

this app is classic and straight forward. I use the random opponents feature to play with people from all over the country and internationally. There is no harassment so far in this game's chat feature and all the players are focused on actually playing the game and not trying to get you to chat outside the game.

The only complaint I have is the fact that in almost every game you'll receive an unusual amount of i's compared to every other letter.

3 Days

this app, 3 days to play a turn is TOO LONG. I've been playing this game for years, usually always have the maximum 30 games going, and most days are incredibly slow on Wordfeud with maybe five of them playing and the rest well on their way to timing out. Please make an option for quick play already!!
Also, your support team used to be good about responding to e-mails that I’ve sent. For the past few years, I’ve gotten zero responses. There are some people you seriously need to kick off of Wordfeud, like the ‘Mark Hung XL’ or whatever his screen name is. Literally for years I’ve been getting stuck getting matched up with two or more of his accounts and he won’t play a single word, he’ll just move on to another account. I have two games going with that creep that are just going to sit there for three days. It ticks me off, but I know e-mailing your support team won’t do a thing!

Love the WF Tournaments

After getting a tad bored with Words With Friends, I was introduced to Wordfeud. I really enjoy the high scoring boards.

I urge everyone to check out the tournaments. I play in the English International and the English US. You will have lots of games to play against some very good players. You report results of each game and advance in different "tiers" or levels. My brain has been highly stimulated and I have played many of my opponents outside of the tourneys. I have enjoyed chatting with players all over the world. The tournament is very well run and only supported by donations through PayPal. Give it a try (you can find a link on Wordfeud ) and donate to help them keep up the great work!

Great game with a clean interface

Been enjoying this app for a few months now. Mostly against friends. I really like the interface and color scheme compared to the other popular game in this genera. It's been easy to use, quick to keep the game going after a win.

The one complaint is that you cannot quit a game without forfeiting. There has been more than once we have started two games at the same time with the same person. It would be nice if both player can agree to cancel the game without a penalty.

Also It would be nice to either pause a game (incase you will be out of Communications for a few days) and I really wish you could see who you have played in the past even if you didn’t friend them.

I LOVE this game! I play it daily. My grandchildren kept borrowing my phone years ago & then finally I asked what are you playing. I find the game challenging and stimulating. I have some health challenges including sleep apnea & insomnia so I can play in between naps & at night. Love the chat feature. I have a core 5 that I have played with for years & they understand me when I'm down & I likewise with them. I have concern about dementia or Alzheimers but this keeps me thinking much better than a puzzle. Great therapy!😀
I only play random games because of the variety.

2 requests:
Since I upgraded my score doesn't appear after each game but it should, please correct.

The game freezes sometimes, please work on that problem too.

I play random players but women don't normally last, why not? This is over 5 years, I'm playing all guys. Don't like losing or being sick. Sometimes when my son wouldn't call I would send s game request and chat that way just as long as I knew he was ok. I think it keeps families together. 😀
I really love this game!

My favorite game

I love this game because it is a simple Scrabble type game without all the distracting bells and whistles of other games - no challenges, tournaments, buying clues, earning gold stars, etc. of other word games. You can have Friends and play the same people whenever you like, and you can chat with them if you want. I paid a small fee two years ago to eliminate ads, and it was well worth it. Doing that also allows you to see some statistics if you want - like your # of wins and losses against other players, your best game score, longest word, etc. I can’t remember ever having any glitches with this game!

Very addictive game!

I use to be an avid words with friends player but way too many pop ups!! I got introduced to word feud back in 2010, I've been playing everyday since then! I've got some players I started with back then that we're still playing against each other to this day! I absolutely love this game! I play the maximum amount of players at one time, currently at 30 games! I've played players from all over, I think it's nice we can chat with each player, it would be nice if u could share pics too, but nonetheless this is right up there in my top 5 favorite games! Mahjong is my favorite then this app, different types of solitaire!

Getting My Word Feud Fix...

A friend shared this free app with me 15 years ago. We've been chain-playing non-stop since then. We end a game by starting the next. Great way to take a brain break! I check-in to make a play a few times a day and find myself excited each time I see my opponent has played! Most recently, I have invited random players to games. I'm currently playing 5 games at one time. The best part is that I'm no longer waiting for 1 person to make a move; I can get my "Word Feud" fix from one or more of my other opponents while others are thinking. It's addictive! It's my favorite game app (and the only game on my phone).

iPhone X “TOUCH thing”

I play this every day with 4/5 other people. Quite a few years now. There is a bit of a “thing” playing on an iPhone X. The touch screen doesn’t want to play nice with this app. My tiles are lined up at the bottom and when I try to pull them up to play them; they will not “hit and move”. I have to fiddle around, once I get one out of the bottom the rest will move easier. And I have to readjust my body’s memory touch to get this to work. It hasn’t stopped me, it just means I go over to the iPad and lazily play it there. I looked for a way to contract and designers but I do not do/TRUST Facebook and I do not do/TRUST Twitter.

A great alternative to Scrabble/WWF

The Scrabble and Words With Friends apps are so bloated with useless “features” nowadays that they are nearly unplayable. This is a great no-frills app for people who don’t care about jewels and leaderboards. The ads aren’t terrible, and you can pay a one-time fee to remove them. That’s a lot better than some apps, which have adopted a “subscription” model for ad removal. Yikes.

The ONE, only one, complaint I have about Wordfeud is that you can’t play on a classic Scrabble board. Probably a copyright issue. The default board works well enough, just takes some getting used to.

Does exactly what you’d want

Pros:
- NOT like Words With Friends. Jesus Words With Friends is a horrible array of colors, social connections, spam, unoptimized programming, and ads. 5$ get you ad-free, simple games of scrabble
- 5$ means ad-free. Totally worth it
- Connect with friends. I play with my siblings and mom all the time.
- Board is a good layout. The lay-out encourages decent strategy and good opportunities for points most moves. Way better than Words With Friends.
- The stat tracking is fun, but could be better
- It’s just a simple game. It’s a smaller program and runs smoothly on every device I’ve ever used. Words With Friends found a way to make Scrabble laggy. This is not like Words with Friends

Cons:
- Not many. I would like to be able to view others profiles more easily.

As far as scrabble apps, this is the best I’ve tried. Big enough user base and simple enough to play to your hearts content without needing to think about more than the 7 letters on your deck.

Almost perfect

I’ve been looking for an alternative to EA’s Scrabble app since it announced it would be shutting down in June. The candy-coated Words With Friends and Scrabble Go apps give me headaches. Then I found this app - a nice, clean platform for game play without any annoying prizes, challenges and other pieces of childish fluff. My only difficulty is that the dictionary hasn’t been updated since 2012, so I have to let go of my old standbys TE, PO, GI and DA. This is a minor inconvenience, though. It would also be nice to see a list of letters left “in the bag” for each game and a play-by-play score breakdown. Other than that — Perfection!

BUYER/USER BEWARE THERE IS NO VETTING OF ADVERTISERS ON WORDFEUD GAME SITE. I ordered a piece of furniture 3 weeks ago from Persistuc. Funds were deducted SAME DAY. Received confirmation e mail. Received tracking number via e-mail. My order was on its way. Today I received a pair of very cheaply made gloves. The tracker says "complete, delivered". IT HAS NOT. I WANT THE PIECE OF FURNITURE I ORDERED AND PAID FOR. PLEASE HELP. Please share my experience with Wordfeud users everywhere. Michelle. 905-449-0501 Canada

I have been playing every day with 4 players for several years now and do enjoy it. However, I do have a major complaint…….the uneven distribution of high scoring tiles. With one player, I inevitably win because of the better tiles I get given. With the second player, it is slightly more even, but I still get better tiles than my opponent. With the other two players, they repeatedly get more high scoring tiles than me!! The most exciting games are those that are close but repeatedly this is impossible due to uneven distribution.

My issue is you can only block one player. I get tired of people getting crude with the chat and need to add them to a list of blocked players. When will this feature be available?

wordfeud is well presented and easy to use but it is awash with cheats which makes playing against random players not much fun
