Most Features are Broken

Wow, what a disaster. This was tested in six different devices and six different accounts. A group of friends and I are going to Japan and took the time to organize our favorite places in PinDrop . Here is what happened

- There are many missing places in the map when you search to add a pin.
- When you find a place, the pin is placed away from the location and you have to manually adjust the pin nearly every time.
- Sharing anything in PinDrop to anybody is broke at basically every level. The only sure way to add someone to a group is for them to follow you and locate your groups / collections manually.
- Searching for people to send invites to crashes PinDrop .
- Subscribing to the Lite and Pro plans is broken. I signed up and it still said “free”.
- The data between my computer and my phone sometimes synced and sometimes didn’t sync, meaning I had to re-enter pins many different times.
- Deleting groups doesn’t work
- Deleting people in groups doesn’t work

This is all in the last version and the lastest update just published five days ago. Stay away from PinDrop. We wasted so much time.

Stopped working

It worked well for the first 11 pins. Then, whenever I would search up a place, it wouldn’t locate it on the map. In order to place a pin, you would have to zoom into the exact place where you want to drop it, which takes so much more time, it’s not even worth it to have PinDrop . I hope it’s a bug or glitch because I enjoyed using it in the beginning!

App seems good, but…

Free version seems pretty good for my needs, although I wish I could list multiple visits to one pin instead of just typing the dates in the description.

Only 3 stars because I signed up for the subscription that includes the journal to see if it would suit my needs. I was supposed to get a 7-day free trial but was immediately charged, with no free trial so I’m having to request a refund. If the journal feature was good I’d have kept the subscription but it is terrible. I can’t find any way to edit an entry after the fact, or even delete an entry. Definitely not worth paying for.

I will continue using the free version, so far I do really like it and it allows for everything I need with no cost, unlike other apps I tried. Again, I just really wish there was a better way to list multiple visits on each pin. Maybe a “trips” or “visits” section on the pin with date selection boxes (start/end dates). Would give 4 stars if not for the free trial issue, and would give 5 stars if a multiple visit feature were added.

Suggestions for 5 stars!

Can we have a option to have a little preview/caption for a dropped pin when looking at it on map view? It would be way easier for me to know the names of the pins im near at a glance vs having to tap each one to see what the closest one is. Also Possibly a option to default to map view as well? After playing around a bit more I ran into a bug when deleting a tag that has no pins in it under the organize tab. Being apple to toggle a tag group on and off would be great as well as possibly a distance calculator between pins if I select two of them while on map view. All in all it is a great app just missing some little features here and there that will bring it to the top.

Almost Perfect

I get you can make a group but I wish it would just plan all the stops into one route instead of having to go through each individual one and navigate to it, unless I’m missing something. I want it to navigate me to all the points without having to go in and out of PinDrop !

A little buggy but responsive developer

I switched over from Mapstr that started charging a crazy amount of money and stumbled upon PinDrop. The transfer of data was pretty smooth and I liked how it has a lot of similar features to what I was drawn to Mapstr as a user by.
I’ve had a few issues with PinDrop . Mainly when trying to add pins abroad, searching the address usually doesn’t bring up results so I have to go to Google Maps to retrieve the coordinates to manually add the location. The adding friends/ other users is also very buggy and doesn’t seem to really work. I had difficulty making a shared list because it kept saying the person who I was adding wasn’t logged in when they tried opening the link.
All that said, the founder/developer is very open to suggestions and feedback both through the in app suggestion function or through reddit so I’m very happy I made the switch.

Improvements?

I like PinDrop , but I would really appreciate the option to make different colored pins, that’s the only thing missing for me please. add the option to customize pin colors!!! Please, I would pay for that.

Thanks Justin and Andy!

I hadn’t signed into my Pin Drop app since 2013, and I received an email from them that my previous data from PinDrop could be retrieved if I wanted to restore it.

I emailed them and received a reply right away from Justin, who helped me retrieve my data immediately.

It didn’t matter that I had a free account.
Justin and Andy treated me like a VIP member and they were professional throughout our transaction.

Big fan of their customer service!

It’s a great app.

It’s a great app but I wish I can print out some info on my wireless printer. There is no way to print the map out on PinDrop . If they can do that I would put a 5star on this review. I use PinDrop for work.

Best app for exploring any city

LOVE PinDrop. Great for adding pins in different custom categories to explore my own city, or place in traveling to. Solid functionality and the personalization features make it way better than Google Maps

Great improvements!!

My favorite app finally got updated:) just make sure you sign in with google and not apple, and boom, back up, there you are! Great customer service too. keep up the good work guys!!

Best way to keep track of your favorite spots

This is the best app I’ve found to organize my favorite places and places I want to visit. I love being able to organize and customize every tag. The option to share with others is a plus!

Get it! It’s amazing!

I downloaded it a few day ago for planning my trip to London and it’s great so far: I mapped all places , categorized them and added notes like hours, prices, etc) I am a very organized traveler and PinDrop is just perfect for me.

Nice App for Memories + Great Service

I love PinDrop… added pins since March 2023 of places I travelled, including all of the places we stopped on our honeymoon.

A little over a year later, I’d open PinDrop and it would crash before I could even view anything. App was updated, phone had been restarted. Nothing was working.

I emailed the developers and they reached out to me immediately and resolved the issues within a few weeks. I didn’t have to stay in touch or remind them, they went above and beyond. They checked in with me once they did their fixes to make sure it worked on my end. Now I get to go back through and see all the beautiful memories I put in there 😊

Lawn Care

Work with a crew of 6 guys and have many large remote locations that do not have an official address. Mapped out 90 different locations making it easy for new staff to navigate through any navigation app on their phone to get to desired location efficiently.

Loaded with features

Great app with tons of features to help daily stops/calls! I barely scratched the surface and it seems there is a TON of things you can do. I’m still on the free version but will move to paid so I can have desktop access as well. Do not hesitate to give this a try!

best app ever!!

this is precisely what i needed, i couldn’t find an app similar to this and was honest to god about to create one myself. no this one allows you to drop places u went (or want to go to) and put them into a tag / list so u can go back to it. it’s organized, it shows off all your pins in general, AND u can leave pics and notes for yourself

Great App and Support

I use PinDrop for work. I need to store a lot of locations to share with people. It is so user friendly and easy to organize the different categories I have with their tags feature. The best part is their customer support. I had an issue that they could have easily ignored, but they went the extra mile (or five) to get things right for me.

Great App to Document Your Travel History

I use PinDrop to document all the various places I’ve traveled around the world. It’s a great way to keep track of memories I might’ve otherwise forgotten. I also love how I can zoom in and drop a pin on a very specific location and write a description. This way I can keep track of my favorite restaurants around the world and I’ll be able to revisit them in the future. Otherwise I’d likely never be able to track down the exact restaurants again.

Great. Better than Google maps

Great functionality. Can’t wait for the upgrade options where I can collaborate more with my team
