Base Directory Reviews

Have always found BaseDirectory useful, love the improvements, the new base information, and the return of the "Home Base" and map features! Thanks for continuing to improve this resource for service members.

The newest update has made things much easier. I especially like that I can use the map to find bases and plan trips, and BaseDirectory is much faster than before.

I just wish more people knew about BaseDirectory so that there could be reviews on some more of the bases! But this is perfect as we make our wish list for duty bases!

BaseDirectory is great. Except it is down for some reason and I am getting an error message. Hope this gets fixed soon.

I travel to many bases throughout the year and BaseDirectory saves me the time and headache of searching for lodging, food and services. I simply pick the base I'm on and all the base services phone numbers, locations and hours are right at my fingertips. I also use it daily on my home base to verify the hours at the Exchange, Commissary and even check the current movie listings at the Base Theater. I highly recommend BaseDirectory to all past and present military personnel and their families!

I really love the convenience of BaseDirectory especially when you are PCSing (or about to). The only complaint I have is that after I rated a location I went to write a review of the same place and it would not accept my written review because I had already rated it. Please fix this, or take away the two separate options and just combine them into one button. Written reviews are much more helpful than star rating when you are getting to know a new place.

I travel frequently on TAD orders to bases across the US of all branches of service. I've found that Base Directory has relevant information such as phone numbers for medical dental clinics, locations of MWR facilities, and hours of operation for the NEX/PX and commissary. This information can be hard to find, even if you have a base directory (which you don't when you're on TAD!), and has helped me tremendously. Thank you for BaseDirectory!

BaseDirectory is awesome! My fiancé is currently in flight school with the Navy which means we are moving to about 4 different bases within 2 years. BaseDirectory is so hopefully every time we move. Even though we don't know the new cities right when we move there, we are always comfortable with the base and being able to find the information we need.

I used the directory to locate bases near my travel routes. The map was great, because I could find bases I did not know existed. The map had links to the base's services and facilities. NOW, I have to look at each military service (Army, USAF, Navy, Coast Guard & Marines) then search each state to find bases. Even then, I do not know where they are. Also, I know the USCG station at Marathon, FL has lodging and MWR services, but it is not even listed in the new format. It was on the map before. I see lots of references to USAA products, but that is a poor substitute for a lack of usefulness and functionality.

The previous version Suited my needs for retired travel. The last version had a world map which could be zoomed in and out to the location being researched.

Previous version also consolidated all military services lodging destinations so that your search could be found by destination time of travel and distance traveled.
Is there anyway that I could download the previous version which to me was a much better application.

I spend a lot if time on the road going from base to base and BaseDirectory is my constant travel companion. I even use it at my home base for everything from checking gym hours to finding phone numbers for other units. If you are in the military you should download BaseDirectory. It is very helpful and easy to use.
