Highly playable, if flawed

Most of the achievements are bugged (level progression, for example). No multiplayer, and subsequently, no Forge support. Which means there's serious room for improvement, and potential for revenue for the developers.

That said, it's still a great port of the full single player Marathon campaign. Absolutely worth it.

Disappointing

While visually, it still remains true to the original, it seems like MarathonInfinity was rushed out of beta.
The control scheme is horrid, that alone makes this game virtually unplayable.
I could be wrong, but it might be laziness on the developer's part. Touch screen controls for FPS type games isn't anything new, and many have done a good job with it. Here its makes the game unmanageable. I have difficulty with moving while aiming at an angle (app automatically reverts to a direct horizontal view upon any movement), switching weapons in a timely manner, dual wielding (again a challenge for touch screens but many other FPS apps have managed this quite well) interfacing with doors, elevators, and terminals (due to the awkward position of the interface buttons) etc... Moreover the HUD controls are a complete eye sore.

The game crashes quite a bit, the initial load up time is quite too long, and bugs persist on many levels (some levels cannot advance, so have to restart saved games, others will advance to levels out of sequence to the original game)

I have to give MarathonInfinity 1 star.
Well intended, poorly executed.

Another update to this Classic!

Glad to see this game brought back to life. I really enjoyed the Marathon series but had to say goodbye over the years as this Mac Classic was lost to two major CPU shifts by Apple. The HD upgrades make this game look even better than it ever did when I first played it back in the 90's on my Mac Performa 630. The music in this game still is the most eery soundtrack I have ever heard in a game.

High Praises to Developer

I can’t thank you guys enough for updating the series. I have been waiting a long time and cannot believe it’s finally here in all its glory! You guys have done a stellar job with all 3 updates and hope that you are able to continue. I tried to donate but apparently the donate button is not working properly? Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Great port, make better controls.

It is literally impossible to beat "Whatever You Please" because of how finicky the controls are. You can't navigate the narrow walkways unless you go extremely slowly, but if you go slow the compilers will shoot you and knock you off into the lava. Someone needs to make an Aleph Two port for desktop computers, since Aleph One is too old now.

Love it

The only thing it's missing is the network games but other than that it's near flawless

Great

I love this game. It's a great iPhone transition. The controls honestly aren't all too bad. The fact that when you start to move and you are looking up your camera shifts down to the middle, but other than that it's not bad.

Re-add the map builder.

Coming back to this game just now, it has been an amazing experience replaying this game. Multiplayer and Campaign are both good. I just wish map building can be remade.

Developers, PLEASE READ THIS!!!

I love Marathon. I love it a lot! But, whenever I reach the end of the game, and see the End Screen, (won't spoil) no matter what I do, I cannot leave the screen! This is a bug that Needs to be fixed! Please Fix This Bug!!!

By the way, this is the case for ALL Marathon games, not just Infinity.

Port is OKAY

PLEASE UPDATE FOR IOS11!

I have played the original game on my PC, and on XBLA. Yes iPhone is limited with controls, but I feel like the game(the trilogy ports)could use a few changes.
1.sensitivity on the movement analog could be toned down a bit.
2.the ability to change field of view between default or higher FOV
3.toggle on/off two things
A. Invert y axis
B. auto center on/off
4. Ability to rearrange icons on screen.

Other than that its a decent port.
If you wanna okay for the story, just play it on easy as the controls take some getting used to.

Just like ol' times!

I loved the original Marathon on the computer, and now I love it on the iPhone, as well. Yes, the graphics aren't too good, but that's the point, right? Just a little bit of nostalgia?

Works on iPhone again

Recent update for iPad Mini support messed up iPhone version (scene was zoomed in and distorted) but it was fixed. This game is awesome again.

Please fix this game

I've recommended it to all my friends including 1&2 but even I can't play it now -iPhone 6 plus

By

Good but a few faults

I love this game but I can't open any doors, and I think the player moves too fast, other than that I love it. I like the combat and the melee and ranged attacks

CHANGE THE CONTROLS!!!!!

I typed the same message on the reviews for Marathon 1 and Marathon 2: Durandal, and let me just say that those people are psychotic, brain dead CONTROL freaks who would'nt know a good control mechanism if it shot them in the head with a rocket launcher!!!!! I mean, REALLY?! This is what your calling a good control mechanism?! GIVE ME A FOOPING BREAK!!!!!!!!!!

Just like the old days

Feels just like the now free to play desktop version. Great value here!

Used to work

I used to play this game way back when on my Mac. Was stoked to have it on my old iPhone 4s, and just put it on my iPhone 6. Unfortunately it no longer works. Can't get past the start / difficulty setting page before crashing.

Sad. I would love to play.

Multiplayer and great game.

You have the same problem hear, no multiplayer. Please add multiplayer for this game. Other than that great port.😄

Doesn't work

I'm on a iPhone 6 Plus with IOS 8.1.2 and all 3 of the Marathon games are not working. I haven't played the series before so I was hoping this port would work. I'll update my software today, but since the last update for the game was 2 years ago I doubt it will do much.
