Simple Transfer - Photo+Video Reviews

I have worked in IT for 25 years. Everything from tech support to systems administrator to a programmer. Yet after days of trial and error and research, I was still unable to import images and video from my iPhone to my Windows PC. I tried working with iTunes and the Windows Photos app to no avail. I tried other App Store apps with high reviews but they had their own issues like importing several files then failing to import files that were on iCloud but not the phone. None of the solutions were easy and well thought out. SimpleTransfer changed all that. Stupid simple. And best of all, they thought of everything: All the various Apple specific image and video formats that either can’t be viewed in Windows or can’t be viewed properly in Windows are automatically converted into Windows compatible formats by SimpleTransfer. The USB cable transfer worked great and quickly. Just make sure you leave the iPhone app open and don’t move to another app while copying is taking place. 6,000 images and videos taken over 12 months transferred in about 30 minutes. Well worth the money!

I am a real estate agent so I usually take lots of pictures and videos. it has always been a giant pain to plug in my iPhone usually cables etc multiple multiple times to get the files to transfer to my desktop for editing. It would always lock up. In addition trying to use one cloud or I cloud is invasive. It adds to the memory of your phone. They're trying to get you to buy another phone and upgrade. I'm tired of that game! It's the same game that Sony played with their Betamax videotapes when they came out. This program has been a total stress reliever for me as it quickly transfers files to my desktop much as you could go from iPhone to iPhone in a very short period of time It also allows you to delete the photos on your phone and keeps the mp4 or jpg formats if wanted. I'm very happy I found this. The Pro version was totally worth $10.

First off I did not like how they try and make you buy premium by defaulting to your oldest pictures and videos which would have made this a useless app. Fortunately, there is a loophole around it you can create a new album and move your newest content onto there to download. Appreciate the simplicity of SimpleTransfer. I don’t usually do reviews but this is a huge pain point for many especially if they recently moved onto apple and don’t have the budget to buy a mac( apple computer). Quick and easy download without deteriorating the quality of your media. I will consider buying your premium because this hits a huge pain point for me. As of now I’m going to enjoy editing my project with this “Simple Transfer” :)

Since updating to iOS 11 I think most, if not everyone has been having issues with their camera roll... a video I recorded from January 2017 is my latest camera roll photo/video, it did not appear before, it literally just happened as soon as I hard reset my phone that the video from January just came to be my latest photo. hopefully Apple fixes this bug with its 11.1 update because it’s been some time that it’s been happening, this is not the only photo either I have some other photos that it happened to.. on that note, if they don’t fix it I’m hoping you guys can make a feature to arrange the photos by date/time so there’s a fix at least because this is just freaking annoying

Got a new iPad gen 7 for X-mas, and I don’t use iCloud for anything, so therefore pictures on iMac wouldn’t/couldn’t transfer to new iPad. Searched and searched and tried all google suggestions but most were 2-5 yrs old therefore latest tech answers weren’t available. Came to realize an Apple solution didn’t exist ( or I’m to dumb) , anyway decided to take a chance and try this app iOS/ Desktop ( you need both ) and ZOOM off you go, pick a few pictures from photos in computer, drag to desktop, select all , drag to this app drop, and bingo DONE. NOT even a learning curve, just done, VERY HAPPY !

My kids had used up all their space on their 6 to 8 year old tablets, and I couldn't get backups (cords), iTunes, or cloud storage programs to download because they wouldn't work with the old iOS 9...operating system. this app finally saved me so they have all their photos and movies on our computer now. Thank you so much.

I decided to spend the $9.99 to upgrade so I could move more than 50 at a time so I wouldn't have to delete and restore all 1,500 pics and movies from 5 tablets. It saved me a lot of time. And I never had a file time out even though one of my kids home videos was 17 minutes long.

Honesty SimpleTransfer is a lifesaver. Yes, I had to pay for the premium version, but it is still cheaper and easier than buying an external drive and swapping files. I was plagued by constant errors transferring photos from my device to windows laptop. It would transfer 20 or so and then have error after error. No matter what I did, it never worked. SimpleTransfer worked with ease and flawlessly. 1200 photos transferred in no time, safe and secure on my laptop. Thank you for doing what you claim and what it should. This is my first review and honestly was worth the time.

Ever since upgrading to an iPhone 7 Plus, I have been struggling to find a fast way to backup my photos and videos to my MacBook, (which at five years old, is considered to be archaic). Dropbox and iCloud take forever and crash often. SimpleTransfer saved everything! I'm able to download, upload, transfer between iPhone and MacBook, in either direction. I'm thrilled with how easy it is to operate and the fact that it only requires wifi to operate. No third-party websites! Its extremely efficient and my favorite app!

Wow. I’ve used SimpleTransfer in the past and it was ok. Not great, but it got the job done. I didn’t have the Pro version and I made it work. Now I am on a new trip and find out that I can only transfer 50 photos on any given day. Ok, so perhaps they changed that, I am not sure. I am a professional photographer and I need to be able to move photos between my various devices and so I bought the Pro version and now I want my money back. This thing is a turkey of the first order. I can’t get it to recognize any of my devices no matter how many times I go to their website and attempt to follow their directions. My advice is to forget this pretty lousy app. I have asked for my money back because it won’t work and I will see how they respond. In the meantime I am going to get something that actually works.

When my MBPro stopped recognizing my iPhone (device is locked error message when it wasn't) I thought I was truly sunk. Camera roll had 5600 pics & videos that needed DL for editing. Purchased 3 other apps that did nothing except crash or freeze my phone and then tried this one. SimpleTransfer enabled me to transfer all my files pretty painlessly. My one word of advice is if you have a large library as I did, break the task into smaller chunks. That will make confirmation of file DL and organizing said files much easier. So relieved I found this and will continue to use it going forward!

The new Version 7.1 suffers from two problems that I can see. 1) Converting videos from H.265 to H.264 as part of the transfer process takes an extremely long time, long enough for me to abort the transfer and save the videos as Original instead; now I use another app on my iPhone that quickly converts H.265 to H.264 before I transfer files. 2) It appears that GIF files are no longer transferred; instead, there’s a bogus error message about iCloud (I’m just using WiFi) or that my iPhone is out of space, which is ridiculous when I’m transferring from iPhone to PC.

Previous versions were 5-star apps.

I needed a way to download iPhone photos to my PC because it kept failing when I tried the old fashioned way. SimpleTransfer seems to have the basics down but there are two issues that keep it from being a great app.
1) SLO-Mo videos get downloaded as regular video. No slomo effects transfer
2) I can’t see a way to download them in mass and have them put in folders by date/month. When I have months worth of photos it will take me a long time to sort through and organize them on my Pc.

Update: I have tried to upgrade to premium multiple times and it doesn’t work. I wanted to pay them $25, but no luck.

I’ve been using SimpleTransfer for the past year and it’s absolutely worth it. I’d even pay if it wasn’t free. If apple keeps this bs up I will eventually go for another phone. Such simple things and apple choose not to implement it in iOS. Without installing and downloading a bunch of bs. No wonder there’s an app for everything. I never connect my apple to my windows because it’s always trouble. With SimpleTransfer all you do is put IP address , connect to wifi and you’re set. Easy and super fast. Thanks developers for new update

This is one of the best, 'out of the box functional' apps I've ever found -- and it's free!!! SimpleTransfer works perfectly (not always the case with freebies), and also has some very useful functions -- like being able to select individual photos for transfer. Because I'm always adding to the 'camera roll' on my phone/iPad, I tend to move selected photos between them every couple of weeks. The 'selection option' means I only move the items I want to move. This is an UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME APP!!! 👍🏽💯💯👍🏽

If you are looking to take a 4K 60fps video that is an hour long off your phone sport but it won’t happen even with SimpleTransfer it’s just too big of a file but this is an amazing app none the less it lest you download pictures exactly how you want with many options and for only 10 a year I think it relieves stress 😂 and it can still download 4K 60fps I’m just not sure what’s the cap for the file size

I tried many applications to download pics from my iPhone 11 to my windows pc and all of them has Been unsuccessful. I end up paying foe the one year which it was worth it it, I transferred over 3k pictures and videos and even converts the a compatible file to view it with no issues in my pc. It saved me from switching to a Samsung.

While it can't transfer literally everything from a computer (software-based, of course), it is a rather nice application (what I believe, anyway is for) that can transfer (what I know is) all types of images and the usual video formats, at least for the iPhone/iPad in both cases (photos and videos). Even despite the fact that it can't transfer literally everything (at least for right now), it does a very good job for the most part! :)!

Only recommended it to my wife who also bought SimpleTransfer . If you are trying to transfer large videos to your computer and they keep failing via cable or trying to upload to the cloud only to redownload to your computer, stop wasting your time and buy SimpleTransfer as my time is worth more and Apple can be frustrating. SimpleTransfer is easy, secure, and works inside your own network at home.

I’m a PC user and store most of my iPhone photos in iCloud. So after failing with iCloud for Windows (extremely unreliable), and trying iTunes (doesn’t work with iCloud), uploading directly to iCloud with a web browser (doesn’t work), SimpleTransfer actually works perfectly! It even keeps the date from 10 years ago, so my photos are chronological as well.

I had very large videos on my phone. Each video I needed to edit on my computer was an hour or more. Nothing I did would transfer those videos from my phone to computer until I found SimpleTransfer. I love this product. It doesn’t matter how long the video is. The transfer to computer is easy and quick. So glad I found SimpleTransfer!

Tried out the free version and it worked great. Brought pro and only about 20% of my files are transferring correctly. The rest just transfer as HEIC without the JPEG or they say “error.” To convert to JPEG while transferring without having to go through every single file was why I bought this. They were all taken with the same camera and are stored the same so very disconcerting that I’m unable to complete the transfers after spending money on SimpleTransfer . This is exactly why I don’t buy apps often. The apps always show “most helpful reviews first which always seem to be 5 star reviews. Note to others: check recent reviews before purchasing apps!

Response to developer: my review was for SimpleTransfer version and not the browser. So please look into both while you’re at it. Also, it’s a shame to not receive a response when I went directly to your company for help before leaving bad reviews. Tried to give the benefit of the doubt but getting an auto response that’s still not helpful just seems a bit dodgy to me. Again, this is why I don’t buy apps. No refunds when it doesn’t work and just being told to “wait it out” is just terrible business. My phone was full and I couldn’t take pictures. Bought your app to help me store them properly and it didn’t work. Thankfully, I figured out another way of transferring them. Really wish I had looked at the most recent reviews before buying.

I have been using SimpleTransfer for quite a while now and have had good luck with it. Fairly fast transfer rate getting photos from my iPad to my computer. The free version only lets you transfer 50 photos at a time, so I upgraded and now I get unlimited transfers. This is helpful when you have a LOT of photos to move at once. I have had no issues with it so far. I plan to keep using it.

Will only transfer 50 files with the free version. Had to pay five dollars to transfer the rest of them. Had a lot of connection timeouts, did not work on the first, second, third, or fourth try. On the fifth try, many files failed to transfer intact. I have no idea which of my photos is lost now. Just what you want out of the back of product, right? Not a great product. Still better than trying to transfer them without an iCloud account. It should be easier than this. Why can't I just plug my USB cable in and drag and drop the files like any other storage media.

Been working great but recently, I noticed photos that are downloaded from computer to iPhone won’t sync or download into designated albums. Only 50% of the photos correctly go in the albums I want even tho all the pics are downloaded successfully onto my phone from the computer. Is this a glitch or bug of some sort? This is getting annoying let alone frustrating. Imagine downloading 50 pics and only 24 pics go into the album you want. Now see how tedious to see which pics didn’t go out of those 50? Sorry, will be 1 star rating until it works 100% like before.

I'm delighted with SimpleTransfer.I take many photos with my iPhone but prefer to see them on the larger iMac desktop screen. Then I can download to a thumb drive if needed. I use a PC in my job and can take job photos there to upload—- and still retain them. You took hours off the “old way” of painstakingly emailing photos then saving them to specific folders. Same with videos.

This is such a simple solution and so helpful! I'm using the free version and you can only choose from the top 50 photos on the list. Which was fine, until it somehow started listing my photos by oldest first. It won't let me change the sort order so now I can only transfer old photos which isn't what I was hoping for. I'll probably upgrade to the paid version but thought I would mention the quirks of the free version.

This is a great ap, simple to use. Unlike other ways of transferring photos from phone to a computer, this method saves the time/ date info AND the location of the photo, as provided by GPS coordinates. That part is especially fun when you are taking photos during take off and landing, or when trying to reiconstruct where you drove once you get back home.

SimpleTransfer worked great for me as for some reason trying to transfer my files wired to pc, keep disconnecting my phone after a few files transferred. I had no issues transferring wirelessly. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star is that I like using the import photos on windows where it changes the name of the files to the dates it was taken, which I prefer. For now, I use a renaming tool. Don’t be afraid to try it out! It’s free for like the first 50 transfers.
