I loved the Classic app until I purchased the “Pro Subscription”. It is criminal that the developer is selling this for the classic app. The radar is pretty useless. It cannot be put into motion, and the layers icon sits on top of the menu icon on the upper right of the screen. Once you open the layers you have to completely kill SwackettClassic to get it to close again. I downloaded the newest non-classic version of SwackettClassic and attempted to transfer over my subscription but it apparently does not transfer over. This was a waste of money, and has destroyed my faith in this developer.

First, I have never written a review for an app before this one. I hate the new "look" of swackett, it looks like the weather channel, there is way too much text, much more difficult to navigate. Why can't I have the actual temperature and the real feel, instead of having to chose in settings? Why is the horizontal hourly view gone and replaced with a difficult to read vertical orientation version that reminds me of matrix algebra? Honestly, it was a terrible update. I understand they made the moving clouds to take advantage of the new screen capabilities of iPhone 5s/c, but that's only on the homepage and that makes people motion sick. I miss the dog, I loved looking at the dog page, it was just cute, not everything needs to be utilitarian. If it was, I would use the built in weather app. I'll give them another update, but if it's still a matrix algebra, with stupid clouds moving (it's not that pretty) and one peep that's always dressed in a suit, I'm out. This was a fun, useful app, but now it's difficult to use and approximately 10% as much fun as pre-iOS 7 swatchett.
by New App No Longer Good!!!!
The new updated app is whack! I'm not understanding why the new changes were made, if they weren't made for the better. I USED to love SwackettClassic and tell everyone about it how great and accurate and useful it was. How I could even rotate the phone and whatever hour it was in the day lets say 6pm I could see the weather by hour up until 6pm the next day. If it wasn't broke what did you fix I ask you? Why make it worse? I'm very upset and frustrated about this new horrible change. If the people who downloaded SwackettClassic are expressing how much we dislike the change and we are the ones doing the download and using your app, PLEASE listen and change SwackettClassic back. Until then, myself like many others will not be using SwackettClassic and will be deleting my current downloaded version. Thank you.
by Apple Devotee!
I used to use SwackettClassic a lot! I especially liked the weather alerts I'd receive from it! Now, I cannot even open it—AND I PAID FOR SwackettClassic! Crooks! Don't think I'll make THAT mistake with YOU again!
I feel that it's just not ethical how SwackettClassic, along with an increasing number of other apps, has updated exclusively to iOS 7.0 or later!!! I've had Apple products for years, and never before have I felt so rapidly boxed out with a device that is really not very old yet!
Shame on so many app developers (and Apple?) for leaving so many folks high and dry! iOS 6 should STILL be supported—devices running that version are NOT that old!!!
This dilemma makes me question whether I want to continue to purchase Apple products, as much as I have loved them, if they and their developers abandon you so quickly—and completely!
I mean, it's CHALLENGING to ensure each app isn't going to shut out your device and its iOS before you tap "Update"! There should at least be an "Ignore" option on updates about to box your iOS out! You pay for apps only to have them eventually say, "Sorry, Sucker!" That is just wrong!
I mean, we buy Apple products, not only for their quality, but also (supposedly) for their durability—well, that last reason is now a highly questionable point, subject to however long (or short, really) the developers choose to support one's device, period.

One of the setup options should be gender. Swiping from left to right changes the gender, but I'm always going to be a guy, so, once I've made my selection, that feature becomes absolutely useless. Swiping left to right should switch from current weather to today, then tonight, tomorrow, etc. Or maybe the authors of SwackettClassic swap genders so often that they need instant access to that at their fingertips at all times? If so, their medical bills must be insanely high. If not, put that in the settings and change left/right swipes to switching from current to today, tonight, tomorrow, etc.
Also, once I've gone into the settings and chosen the classic or the modern view, do I really need text on screen to always show I'm in the classic or modern view? Again, great concept but poor design.
The landscape feature is excellent. There too, however, it's poorly thought out, showing a partly sunny graphic and microscopic text that says "partly sunny." Lose the tiny text and the landscape mode is perfect.

SwackettClassic has strong visual appeal and a clean presentation of weather data. The forecast and imagery access in landscape mode is possibly the best of all weather apps. A couple of tweaks and this would be a 5 start app:
1. Weather alerts are great. But I wish I could turn them off and on by location. I keep several cities on my list for travel but I don't want to see their weather warnings all the time.
2. I'd prefer the switch between Current, Today, Tonight, and Tomorrow to be more visible and/or available via gesture. I want to switch between those MUCH more than I want to switch clothes on the people.

So I love the idea of revamping Swackett, but I think there is some more to step back and think about in terms of organization: when I'm on the general "today" screen with the temp and animated background, why do I have to wait for a marquee of information to get what I want to read? And if that same info is available on SwackettClassic elsewhere, why don't you just take out the marquee so that's less confusing?? Also, the current weather does not load (don't ask me how I figured out how to get to it, I don't remember) and it seems stuck even after I've reloaded SwackettClassic multiple times. I really rely on Swackett to prepare me for the day, so a little tutorial would have been SUPER HELPFUL (if there is one, I can't find it!). There are so many layers to SwackettClassic that I have no clue how to work it. Also, that little circle you press in the bottom right, that has the four colored blobs of information you can select? Nooooo!!!! That's tacky and doesn't match the rest of the design. Did someone have a deadline? Y'all can do better I know it. Y'all save my life everyday so I know you can fix these technical and aesthetic flaws. Thanks!

I really like in the mornings when I don't know what to where. It's simple, easy and has a nice clean interface. There could be a few improvements though.
1. Add more editions that fit what people actually need. I like the funny comical ones but we need serious ones too!
Ex. Workout clothe edition
Church/business edition
School edition
2. Add customizable pages for your editions.
I don't like how you have to go to setting to change editions. It would be easier and more efficient if you could just add a page with your edition in the home menu and swipe to the one you need.
Ex. Swipe from school clothing edition to workout edition
3. Add more clothing options and let us customize our style
I wear more than a shirt, shorts and shades. Add more for each edition
Ex. School
If its cold - shirt, jeans, hoodie, long socks, shoes, backpack, iPhone, headphones, watch, Sports cap, and necklace.
Let us choose what we want by what we wear.
Copy and paste this if you agree. Feel free to add and comment on this review.

I love the look of SwackettClassic, colors aren't harsh to look at in anyway, it reads well, basic info is right up front and more detailed descriptions are easily accessible. One major thing that is missing is percentage of precipitation. That's the main thing I look at when using the weather channel. Fix that and this will be the number 1 weather app. One other small thing that doesn't have to do with the weather per say, but being able to lock or specify your gender so the "peep" automatically stays to the gender you choose every time you open SwackettClassic . That is all! ^.^
by SAHendry
This is a weather application unlike any other that is currently out there. Your average, run of the mill apps out their for weather forecasts can be helpful. However, SwackettClassic does that and a whole lot more!
The "peeps" feature is a really awesome and unique feature that can be quite easy to overlook. But the creators of SwackettClassic certainly knows how to not only make checking the weather really easy, but fun at the same time.
So I highly suggest anyone who doesn't have this weather app to give it a download. Not only will you enjoy using SwackettClassic on a daily basis with great ease, but it's also FREE and you just cannot go wrong with all of those great features into only one, free weather application. Download it right now!

has one caveat: a little resource-heavy for a weather app, making it too slow/laggy in old devices ( like my semi-retired iPod touch 4g). But it has tons of pros:
-runs just fine on iPad 2, iPod touch 5g, iPhone 4, and iPhone 5s devices in my household.
-very intuitive and streamlined interface makes it just a click/ swipe away to get data for any day/hour in the forthcoming week
-unobtrusive ads
-very frequent and well-thought updates
-can set feels-like temp as default
-accurate clothing suggestions
-lifestyle indices (for various outdoor activities, on a scale of ten)
-weather warnings
We have tried about a dozen weather apps in the last year with my wife, and swackett is our fave, followed by weather underground. Most negative reviews are merely outbursts of ignorance IMO, making this the most underrated weather app of late.
Thanks to devs for making SwackettClassic ever better.

I've been using the Mac Swackett app for a while and I've been waiting for an iPhone version of it. Totally worth the wait! The interface is great, and very playful. So glad I can use it on my phone. Thanks for SwackettClassic . It's fun to check the weather and be entertained at the same time.
Be sure to check out the change orientation feature on the phone! It shows you an extended forecast and when you tap the screen you get even more info. It was such a surprise! I have lots of weather apps and I think that this one just took the #1 spot. Wow.

Who needs ANOTHER weather app. Hasn't it all been done before? What could possibly be new and innovative in a weather app? Swackett, thats what! Just when you think you've seen it all, along comes an app that redefines a genre. There are so many little subtle things that make SwackettClassic a joy to use. You can tell its made by peeple (see what I did there?) that truly LOVE IOS. Give SwackettClassic a shot. If you have an eye for design you'll see immediately that SwackettClassic is almost a love letter to IOS. Peeps at Swackett, keep it fresh and fun and the downloads will keep coming'!!!

You set up, and I didn't sign up to make an account but probably will, anyway, you can change the background of the weather by taking a picture as your little woman, man, dog or cat icon is showing in the front. During each time throughout the day moving into night weather, it suggests things to do in your weather area search you did. You can email or post to twitter, i.e.
A great job on this one & a fun informative app! A must have so you know what to wear, what to go do for fun or see, or the option to take that special pic of yours for the background.
LOVE it!

Words can not express how much I’ve missed SwackettClassic!!!! Nine years ago I would link it to my Swarm➡️Facebook for posting, and Screenshot certain character themes to the photo gallery. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for SwackettClassic.

To be honest, I wasn't really expecting much. I mean... a weather app can only be so much.. Right?
Not true. I was surprised. You did an excellent job with the design. It's obvious your developed thoughts molded the design. You successfully interconnected solid programming, well executed design, abundant information, and intriguing presentation.. all into a brilliant final app. I particularly like the way you decided to design different layouts for each orientation. Quick, clear, engaging Verticle presentation... With a simple, informative, intriguing Horizontal presentation.
Again.. Well done. I think it's safe to say we can expect more wonderful things to come.
by Vimon21
People are idiots if they say there is no five day forecast. When you are in SwackettClassic a little pop up bubble tells you to turn your phone horizontal for the five day forecast, weather warnings, and the weather images. So for those giving bad ratings because of that..you are an idiot. SwackettClassic is great I do love the quick and easy detail because I am usually only looking for the temperature on every weather app, not the scientific details and SwackettClassic has been accurate. Make sure you have it set up right for your location and you will get an accurate temperature

I have seen some things: A frog with 5 legs, a tour-group of nuns in Amsterdam's Red-Light district, A cow with markings that looked like Grouch Marx --- but I have never seen anything so sublime as this weather app. The science is great, the weather data is accurate - but it's the art that sets it apart. I don't know what kind of dedication it takes to create all of these wonderful characters in their varying modes of dress --- but I suspect it's alot. Whoever this person is (or persons --- what SINGLE human being could be this profoundly creative - and dare I say prolific) I thank you (either singular or group). You have taken something as mundane as checking the weather --- and made it an entertaining excursion into an enchanted land of fun and delight.

I got this after buying Peepometer for iPad. In short, it rocks. All the other visually clean and simple weather apps look ok but lack detailed data. Not Swackett. Almost everything you can want is in here. Hourly wind forecasts are especially useful to me as a long range shooter. I didn't expect that kind of functionality. True, the clothing may be not what most people wear (sweatpants) but I think I am more than capable of deciphering that: pants instead of shorts. Not exactly rocket science. Even the ads are ok, but I bought the ad-free in-app purchase to support the developers. I would actually like to see them bring some more of these features into Peepometer. Oh yeah, their Accuweather feed seems reliable and I like the option to set SwackettClassic to focus on Real Feel temp.

SwackettClassic is awesome! It is the first thing I look at every morning after the alarm goes off. I am adamant about knowing the weather, and the weather forecasts on SwackettClassic are accurate. I use SwackettClassic to get my forecast for the day and to view the national weather patterns. This is a fun app, NOT a radar. I use RadarScope ($10 and worth every penny) for truly seeing detailed NEXRAD Radar and tracking storms. RadarScope is "a radar" not a forecast tool... If you want an app that accurately predicts the weather, correctly suggests your attire for the day, and positively adds a little fun to your forecast, look no further. And if you hate the annoying adds across the menu bar PAY THE 99 CENTS! Come on people, really? Pay for SwackettClassic or look at the ads, you're not going to get a quality weather app for free, and you should not expect to!

SwackettClassic is spectacular. I love the innovation and accurate forecasts. I just have 1 small bug that needs to be fixed: when I turn my iPod sideways to get the extended forecast, if I zoom in on the bottom row (the week-long forecast), it disappears after I zoom out again (the bottom row goes blue and is unresponsive, though the top row, the hour-long forecast, is stil fine). The only way to get it back on the screen is to completely exit SwackettClassic , which is pretty frustrating. But besaides that small glitch, there's absoultely nothing to dislike about SwackettClassic. 4 stars right now, but if you fix the bug I'll definitely raise that to 5!
**EDIT**
I love all the new features of SwackettClassic , but the bug i mentioned above still hasnt been fixed despite the update.
