Use only for Xbox 360

I would use this only if playing on an Xbox 360 where you can play music from an iPhone through the music tab

By

No user interface on the device

I saw a Reddit thread recommend this as a way to stream MP3s on my phone to my Chromecast. The software has no means to look at what music is there, no means to select what to stream to, and no means of redress when it couldn’t find my ChromeCast. Very disappointing, even for free.

Scam

Finally!

Ever since I've had my Xbox 360 I've wished for a easy to play my iTunes Music on it. I really didn't want to use up one flash drive for all my Music, and not to mention having to constantly update the Flash Drive. I was disappointed when plugging your iPhone into one of the USB ports didn't do anything. And so I gave up and have been just playing my iPhone on its dock. And while that works, it just isn't as cool as seeing your Music on the Big Screen. But then I found AirMusic. AirMusic is what just what I've needed. Thanks to AirMusic, the Xbox basically "thinks" my iPhone is a PC. So it allows me to stream my Music Library to it. The only minor problem I have is that won't play those songs that have DRM protection. But to be honest, I expected it wouldn't. That's not AirMusic 's fault really. So I'm not going dock it any stars for that. But to conclude, for all you Xbox 360 owners who have wished your Xbox and iPhone could get along, this is AirMusic that finally let's that happen. Maybe in the Future they can let you stream your video as well. Then AirMusic would be 10 stars.

Pretty good

Could do a little better, but it's really simple to use, when you open AirMusic for the first time flip the on switch, make sure your device is connected to wifi, as well as your console or whatever you want is on the same wifi,
For the Xbox what you do after that stuff is go to the media tab in the music section of the dashboard and go to play music at the bottom and it should say "AirPlay:______" the blank is your devices name, click on it and you have your playlists and songs and it is pretty awesome and fairly easy to do, so I give it 4 stars because I had to google how to do this and that your not supposed to do a few certain things, but there working on them so you can do them... Worth the money in my book

(Update) whatever they said you shouldn't do I've been doing it and haven't seen any problems with AirMusic , such as leaving AirMusic running in the background or locking your screen, I've done both to test and I haven't had issues

Chromecast user pleased

I got a chromecast audio device the other day and was looking for a way to play my local music from my phone. So far AirMusic seems to work the best compared with others I've tried; but a minor complaint is the lack of music control panel whilst playing. Meaning, when playing a song from the playlist (which, it would also be nice if the music were represented as it is on the phone instead of the mandatory creation of a playlist) an icon appears next to the playing song in the playlist but no song-specific screen appears, meaning I can't skip to the middle of the song or view album artwork like so many other music apps allow.
So far I am pleased, but AirMusic would be worth five stars if those improvements were made.
Also, is there a purpose to the night sky background on which no other tasks can be accomplished? It seems odd using that featureless page as an unclear-navigational area for AirMusic .

This app is plausible

Although AirMusic makes up for the inconvenient lack of iPhone/iPod touch connectivity support for devices such as the Xbox 360, there are multiple bugs that need to be fixed. AirMusic can not to be closed without the 50% chance of crashing followed by inability to restart properly unless AirMusic is reopened multiple times or the device is rebooted. So don't plan to text much while streaming music to other devices. AirMusic also has the tendency to cause "lag", however distance to the wireless connection does make the difference. Finally, it would be extremely convenient if one were able to shut the screen off to preserve battery power. Otherwise, an app supporting one's own music being streamed to other devices has been a highly anticipated release. An update to at least stabilize AirMusic would be much appreciated. Two stars would be an appropriate rating until then, however if you do not mind these inconveniences and spending $2.99(USD), then go for it.

Please consider this review.

I absolutely love this app. I don't know how much it costs now but I bought it way back when it costed like, ten dollars. All I can say is, it's totally worth it. I use air music to stream music to my Xbox from my iPod. As far as I can see, it works flawlessly. I love it. It makes things so simple. I see some reviews saying that it doesn't work. I don't know what isn't working, because it works fine for me on my Xbox and I tried it on my brother in laws ps3 (ewww 😜) and it worked fine on that too. The only time it hasn't worked on my Xbox, was when I had my Xbox's Ethernet cable plugged into my laptop to serve as a wireless adapter instead of straight into the router, but now it's plugged back into the router and works like a charm again. Anyway, definitely worth ten dollars, even though I'm sure it doesn't still cost that, and definitely deserves five stars. TOTALLY recommend. 👍👍👍

Works

Okay, so i have only used AirMusic once, but it worked flawlessly. After using AirMusic once you get requested by AirMusic to make a review of their product. I will edit this review if I run into any problems, but as of now it has been perfect, easy, and pain-free.
Primarily, I bought AirMusic to use with my Xbox because I just got some really nice speakers that I hooked up to my tv and didn't want to use windows media center to play my music. AirMusic rocks because it allows you to play all the music on your iPod. Essentially, now I can stream my iTunes library wirelessly to my Xbox which plays the music on my home theater system. It's perfect for what I wanted. And seriously, what is four dollars? In real life you would spend four dollars on something helpful and be happy you got it for such a bargain.

My opinion

You looking for a decent review to see if this worth your time? Well, I can tell you AirMusic is nothing special, and has many flaws. Are you ready? 1. Get a usb instead. Sure, wireless is cool, if you have wifi and strong connection 100 percent of the time, or else you will have something similar to a bad cd player where you haven't clean in years. Your music will stop half way at times. 2. For some odd reason, it doesn't load all your music, Like a missing album or song from each band sometimes. It could be that it is burnt from cd, so maybe that's why. But come on. The music is on here, just can't load it? 3. Did you get your music from a computer or this? I don't see a point to wirelessly connect to a computer other than plug it in to charge. Overall, it's below average. Unless your systems don't dick with you half the time, then you're fine with AirMusic.

Device cannot be accessed

After downloading a free streaming app and thinking if I paid for AirMusic I would get more functionality, I was sadly dissapointed with air music. To compare the free streaming app had no problems. Free sync streamed right off the bat with no lag issues or connection issues. After installing air music it wouldn't connect giving 'device'errors, only to connect about 30 seconds later without me doing anything. It plays songs for a little while, then skips and stops playing songs all together. Going to the help section everything was setup correctly I.e music stream on 48k, and EPA/wpa2 selected, I even turned off high quality streams with same problems. To this end I had to reinstall my free sync app which works fine for me. The other issue I have is, apparently the dev has a new app that addresses some problems of AirMusic, but instead of a free upgrade, it is a separate app that you have to buy. Their justification - you pay more in coffee and they have to feed their family. What a scam

Needs Improvement; Still Best Option

I really enjoy AirMusic as it has worked for casting my entire library pretty easily and is really reasonably priced, but there's definitely a lot of work that needs to be done.

Please (if you aren't already working on an update that fixes this) create an update that allows us to skip through music. Any time I shuffle, I find myself wanting to skip past songs, but the only option is to restart shuffle if I want a new song.

It's also a little bit ridiculous that we have to add any music into AirMusic for it to play? If that's the case, create a way to organize music added within AirMusic . Right now I have a bunch of useless playlists that exist in my iTunes library only for the purpose of quickly adding certain music to AirMusic .

And one final note is that I've noticed when songs don't have album art, AirMusic grabs an image from the closest album with art to display (instead of just displaying a general music note image or even just a blank screen). It's obviously a minor cosmetic issue but it can be sort of weird/confusing.

Please please please come out with more updates because honestly this is still the easiest option and I recommend it to my friends. I'd hate to switch to anything else.

Great App but needs to address a few concerns

This is really a terrific app- and of course it's great to have compatibility between an Apple product & a Microsoft product like the XBox. However, the music cuts out if you start using a different function on your I-Pod/Pad/Phone for more than a few minutes. Also when the i-Pod/Pad/Phone is in sleep mode for more than 10 minutes the music cuts out. This, and the occasional skipping due to (bugs?/connectivity?) are the only negatives to this app.
The psychedelic musical patterns, though, are amazing to watch on my TV screen; I've only ever seen it on a computer monitor previously. So, all-in-all, a really great app and definitely worth the measly $2.99 as opposed to a steep monthly fee for XBox Music- especially since most of us have all our music on our i-Pods/Pads/Phones anyway!!

It actually works..

Im sure many of you are just like me, afraid that you are paying for an app that doesn't work, well to my surprise it works excellent on my Xbox 360. I wasn't sure if it would... But I tried anyways. And guess work. IT WORKS GREAT!! No more USB jacks and no more old school headphone jacks. I am currently satisfied with AirMusic. I gave it 4/5 stars because it is a little difficult to navigate without reading the instructions carefully. But anyways.. I'm extremely pleased so far! This is a MUST BUY app if you want music from your iTunes music library to your console without wires, it works perfect so far.. Just slightly complicated for those who aren't tech savvy . But it is simple enough for anyone to use. Just read instructions before you get upset because you can't figure it out!

Almost Rocks

This is a clever app. It does what it says. I have my Xbox behind a router behind router (pass thru) and plugged into my apple base station. Though I have password protection, AirMusic does not require any authentication to stream music to my Xbox. I think it does this because the communication is one way, from my phone to the Xbox. AirMusic itself only allows you to tweak stream quality and choose the device you wish to stream to. It does NOT, however, allow you to control the music with you iPhone, which I had hoped. Instead, you must use the Xbox controller and use xbox's built in controls, which are lack luster. 3 out of 5 stars. 5 stars easy if I could use AirMusic as my actual media player, volume adjustment, mute, etc.

Still... great app. Worth getting until you find something better.

Great app, for the most part

This is a great app for the most part. It works rather well and it's easy to use, but I've ran into a few bugs that need to be fixed for it to be a 5 star app.

1. I'll start this app on my iPod, choose a song and it will keep loading and it won't work. I hit the guide button and try again and it always works the second time. Rather irritating because it happens all the time.

2. I usually play full albums while I play and when a song finishes 60% of the time it will skip a track or two or four and play a later track from the album instead of going in order like it is set to. Again rather irritating.

3. Songs will sometimes drop while they are playing. A song will be playing and it will abruptly stop right in the middle of the song and play a new song. Very irritating as well.

4. Some of the load times between songs will take forever. Not a huge gripe but still should be fixed.

This is a very ingenious idea for an app and I use it all the time but these bugs really need to be fixed because it worked better in a previous update. Please fix these bugs. I'll definitely make the rating a five star then.

AWESOME App. Don't like re-launching it though

I was thinking about updating my theater system due to my music library is on my IPhone. However while playing Batman Arkham City I realized the controllers were Bluetooth on PS3. I went online to see what was available for possibly streaming music thru my PS3 and sound system. This came up and I have to say it's so frigging easy to use. The sound is AWESOME through my aging theater system. The music navigation system off the PS3 to use AirMusic is just like it is if it was on the PS3 hard drive. AirMusic is well worth $2.99. Also you can copy music from your iPhone to the Ps3 this was. CRAZY AWESOME. only complaint is the constant relaunch after 5 minutes. Hope an update fixes this.

Did not work on iPad (v1) with iOS 4.2.1 but...

I originally installed AirMusic on my iPad (v1) that had iOS 4.2.1 on it. When I launched AirMusic it would remain stuck on the "Loading..." screen until I gave up after 5 minutes or so. When I synced the iPad with iTunes and then let AirMusic install on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.2.x on it, AirMusic launched and worked really well on the iPhone the first time. I upgraded the iPad to iOS 4.3 to see if that would help and AirMusic started to work as advertised on the iPad too. Overall, a nice and easy way to share iPhone/iPad music with DLNA-compliant players. I was able to use my XBOX 360 and Windows Media Player on multiple PCs to see the music on the iPhone and iPad and stream it from there.

Great app

This is the best app on my iPod... So worth 2.99. Even though it does turn off after 10 min, I can easily turn my settings to always on so it never sleeps and then just plug it into my 360 or the wall and it play for hours. The quality is so great that's there no difference between plugging my ipod into the Headset and using AirMusic and I can listen to my games as well. Also AirMusic is so easy to use.. You just press a button and bam your music is now up in the air floating in wifi and it tells you which device you connects to. When you're on your Xbox or other gaming counsel, it lets you choose your plaudits that you have made on your Xbox. Best app ever!!!!! Must buy!!

Update 1.1 works!

EDIT: Update 1.1 works flawlessly with my Xbox 360 now even with High Quality enabled!
No stuttering so far & maybe that's because both my iPhone 4 and Xbox 360 are connected through Wireless-N!
Well done!

EDIT 2: Also tested on a "Phat" PS3 with firmware 3.56, while this app is streaming to my 360, and it works too!

Tested with my Xbox 360 Slim Model with iPhone 4 32GB on 4.2.1.
My Xbox 360 sees my iPhone but every song I try to play shows a stop image next to them.

- My Xbox 360 is connected to Xbox Live with it fully updated
- All of my music is purchased from iTunes
- None of them have DRM
- MUCH more than enough space for the 50MB minimum
- I've even downloaded the "Optional Media Update" on the 360 which allows you to play music from an iPod

Windows Media Player on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit sees my iPhone and plays the songs fine. There is absolutely nothing on the website on troubleshooting why it won't work.

I wanted to use this with my 360 mainly, so until this actually works on a 360, 1 star.
Once it works i'll update my review.
