No better than Google Earth

Playing with this program I do not see that It provides as good of topographical data than Google Earth. With Google Earth I can use the satellite view and get a real good view of areas not covered it seems in rural areas of Alaska. This program does not need a Internet connection so when flying it offers benefits but the data in bush Alaska is poor at best. Using this as I wanted for navigation when flying or to detail landing areas for hunt preparation is not possible or at least not as good as Google Earth. Not worth the buy

ScenicMapAlaska has been great for me. I've used it for the past 7months and have hiked in Anchorage, willow, Chitna, hunted in kodiak with it, and I am about to use it to track my route down Susitna river this weekend. I have emailed a couple of the GPX files to a friend at USGS and he says he can print me a map with my track on it! So as soon as I here back of from him i'll comment on that as well. I thinks it's great for us who travel on the ground.

Purchased Alaska and Western US to use in the airplane when I have no Internet connection in the air and I am flying the back country and bush. Great app. Replaces paper maps with the added ability to zoom in and track where I am with a Bad Elf GPS Device. Thanks developers. Good work on this one guys.

Features
Unlike old fashioned topo maps, Scenic Map’s roads and trails are up to date thanks to OpenStreetMap.org. It contains polygons for urban areas, shopping malls, an ever growing number of buildings and many other features, The best lake, pond, stream and rivers from the USGS and Canadian public databases are also included.
Want to learn more about a map feature? Tap the target icon and center the feature under the compass rose to display its name, type, urban area, county, state, elevation and coordinates.
GPS recording stops automatically after you have remained stationary for some time or you can choose to manually stop tracking by tapping on the top track in the Tracks view.
Satellite image overlays add breathtaking detail and realism to the maps (tap preset 2 or 4 when Online Map is enabled).
Turn on Online Map in the Settings menu and you can then scroll or go to any location on the planet.
