Martha Stewart app

I love the content but getting it to download is way too slow I’ve been all night trying to get December issue to download it I knew you did sometime in the wee hours of the morning way way too slow. I never did get the November issue do you completely download I’m working on it again because I’d like to use some of the recipes at Thanksgiving but it’s only half downloaded and I’ve been at it for a couple of hours already.
I love your magazine I dearly like seeing it on my tablet I spent most of the day reading December October and September it was just splendid. And I do realize that I live where reception is poor that is certainly worth the wait I love it

Please Fix App

After your recent update to the Martha Stewart Living App, Version 7.3.1, MarthaStewartLiving will not open on my iPad. If this is a bug in the latest version of MarthaStewartLiving please fix it. If it is not an issue with MarthaStewartLiving please instruct as to how to open MarthaStewartLiving on my iPad. I would like be able to access my November issue of Martha Stewart Living as soon as possible. FYI, this is not the first time that this issue has occurred in the 4 years that I have been using the Martha Stewart Living App. Thank you in advance for assistance regarding this matter.

Issues won’t download fully or at all!

Something is seriously wrong with MarthaStewartLiving. Used to be great. But in the last few months I’m unable to download issues. Some have partially downloaded. Some won’t download at all. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling MarthaStewartLiving . I’ve restored past purchases, all to no avail. I’m currently fully up to date on iPad mini 4. OS 14.6. Please fix MarthaStewartLiving! I’ve waited thinking there would be an app update, but nothing has happened to remedy this. Help!

Perfect magazine

Has it all. Gorgeous scenes in Martha’s homes, recipes and
informative material. BUT,, every other month I cannot open
my digital magazine. All I get is subscription renewal it will
not allow me to READ. I rated the magazine, due to
the content. There is an issue with MarthaStewartLiving .

Cannot log in

I’m not able to log in to my account or access my ZINIO subscription to the magazine through the Martha Stewart Living app. The FAQ section for “how to sign in” literally just says “go to account. Tap sign in” with no option to recover a lost password or otherwise troubleshoot sign in. I paid for a subscription and I want to be able to use it!

Trouble with Apple store paid subscription

The latest issue in my App Library is June 2020. How do I get the newer issues that are part of my subscription? I am set to auto-renew soon. I am not receiving what I’ve purchased. Please assist.

Martha Stewart mag-wish folders were available in bookmarks

Love looking at the magazine but using the bookmarks option is REALLY frustrating.
Without folders in which to organize bookmarked items, and no way to identify what the bookmark is, I.e., decorating or food, they all just sit there with a date. Can’t really find anything after bookmarking.

Martha Stewart

I have not been able to access my Martha Stewart living magazines for over a year yet I am paying for the subscription. Please help! I will not renew unless your app allows me to get what I am paying for.

My May and June issues will not open or download.
Can you help me with this?

Take my Magazine everywhere

I really enjoy taking all my magazines with me without carrying baggage. I can archive them and access all at the same time. I can share without tearing out pages 🤭

All it’s content and more in one spot.

I love MarthaStewartLiving and it’s content all in one place. The only flaw is it needs better search cap.

Issue not available

My November 2021 issue has not been available to me for download. I have updated my iPad, removed MarthaStewartLiving and downloaded it again (multiple times) and tried to restore my purchases (multiple times). How else can this problem be solved?

Living Magazine

I look forward to it each month!

Won’t load

I have plenty of memory, all updates current, and I can stream video with my internet connection, but MarthaStewartLiving can’t load a magazine. Either I’m unaware of some amazing feature that requires a ton of bandwidth, or MarthaStewartLiving is just ridiculously clumsy and unusable. I can’t even get the individual articles to load. Total disappointment.

My favorite magazine!

Such a great magazine! I always get such good ideas out of each issue!

System Error Won’t Download Issues

I’m rating MarthaStewartLiving 1 Star because I have a paid in full subscription, yet something occurred where I cannot download ANY of my June or later issues for this publication or any other publication that is from this same developer. Please fix!

Jan/Feb 2020 MIA

I have enjoyed using MarthaStewartLiving for many years and it’s on auto renew. But where’s the latest issue Jan/Feb 2020? Also, the FAQ and other supposed “Help” sections for managing my subscription are pretty unhelpful. Didn’t know until I needed answers that there are none. Martha Stewart, you can do better!

My favorite magazines without the waste

Like most of the e-zines in MarthaStewartLiving store, yes- it's annoying to have to pay twice for both a subscription and also for a digital edition. And yes, it's not as cheap as a subscription price and it would be nice to be able to sign up for a plans solely for digital copies if that's the direction you chose to go with.

My subscription to MSL just ran out so I decided to download MarthaStewartLiving instead despite each issue only bring a dollar less than the print copy and more expensive than a print subscription. Here's why-I like to hold onto my favorite magazines to be able to go back and specific articles and features, but I also live in a tiny apartment and if I don't clip the article right away then I wind up having to eventually toss them so that I don't end up on an episode of Hoarders. With the digital editions, I can by a magazine, take screen shots of what I want to hold onto and either archive them or discard them . . . no more piles of magazines and no more clipping only to have to organize and store them somehow. It's that easy and totally worth the extra cash. There are just a couple of my favorite magazines that aren't available, one of which is Whole Living-which I hope will be available at some point, but until then the impact is going to be huge and my garbage and recycling company will finally forgive me after all of my annual purges.

Now was that so hard?

Delete and Reload!!!

I was one of the people who hasn't been able to access Living on my Ipad for months. The pencils would load and then MarthaStewartLiving would immediately shut down. After reading some reviews I figured out how to delete MarthaStewartLiving (even though it appears in the newstand) and reload. Now it works like a charm again! Once you open your newstand hold put your finger down and hold on top of the magazine icon. It can be a little trickier than trying to delete other apps (I had tried before but couldn't get it to work), but eventually the little x will appear for you to delete! I am disappointed that with so many complaints on here that Living didn't announce this work around to the problem themselves! I have seen other companies do it when enough users complained so that rather than people sitting around with a useless app, there was a fix even if the problem shouldn't be occurring!

Newsstand

I loved MarthaStewartLiving before newsstand, it was a bit frustrating downloading each months digital magazine since you had to stay in MarthaStewartLiving and deactivate the auto standby due to how long the download took. But at least you could download them! Now, I not only am unable to download the most recent April issue, MarthaStewartLiving errors and says to restart! I have also lost the Peony issue I had purchased, had it in my library until I updated to the new version, now its gone! According to their site, once you have purchased an issue it's in your library permenantly, but that has proven to not be the case. The newsstand version of MarthaStewartLiving claims that the magazine will download automatically when available, but this feature does not work! You still need to be in MarthaStewartLiving to download and deactivate the standby feature otherwise the download pauses when the iPad goes into standby, then the download won't restart so you have to cancel and then start over at the beginning! I have attempted to contact the MSL customer service on 4 separate times about the inability to download the April issue over the last nearly 2 weeks with NO response! I am very disappointed in how MarthaStewartLiving has evolved, the quality control / assurance department is failing!
Also a needed feature is to have the ability to archive issues that you choose not to purchase, so only the purchased ones and the most recent issue appear in MarthaStewartLiving !
Presently I would not recommend MarthaStewartLiving until the bugs are worked out!

On 2nd Thought

August 2012: You'd never know from the Martha Stewart website, FAQs or Customer Support how to get MarthaStewartLiving working. It has been incredibly frustrating. However, I did it. Just delete MarthaStewartLiving , then reload it. Voila. Everything suddenly works. I have no idea why, but they should make this work-around common knowledge. It DOES work, you just need to delete and reload the entire app. All your purchases from within MarthaStewartLiving (ie, all the issues you subscribed to or purchased) are preserved.

So now, 6 months after subscribing, I can FINALLY see the magazines. However, I'm only giving MarthaStewartLiving 2 stars because it takes more than 45 minutes using fast WiFi to download an issue, making it NOT an advantage over buying the newsstand issue.

July 2012: I've had MarthaStewartLiving for about 4 months and updated it constantly. It does not work on my iPad 3. It crashes every time I open it and I cannot use it at all. When it did work, once several months ago, it took forever to download an issue and you had to stay in MarthaStewartLiving to do so. More than one hour later on a fast DSL wifi connection and I gave up. I have not been able to read a single issue.

all magazines should be like this

I always have a difficult time throwing a print issue away, so I limited purchase to occasional issues. As soon as I got an iPad, I subscribed digitally to save the space all the magazines could take up, I never expected to be blown away. The digital versions of this mag provide readers with all the class and beauty of the print mag in a full multi-media format. I even find myself enjoying some of the ads that I would have simply ignored in print. If every publisher created digital mags this amazing, we'd all be reading a lot more. For those not wanting to make the full jump to a subscription, you can purchase individual issues. If your space is tight, you can archive purchased issues to re-download at a later time. I'm on an ipad2 and have not had any of the download problems that others experience.

UPDATE: As of the end of May, this keeps crashing. Can't get June issue. Can't even get to what I already was reading. Please fix ASAP!!!!!

Poor customer service

I wrote a review a few months ago detailing my experience with MarthaStewartLiving. I lost issues that I previously downloaded, my subscription was cancelled without my authorization, MarthaStewartLiving asks me to pay for current issues included in my subscription (when I asked customer service to fix it- they said no problem, then I got a bill and discovered they signed me up for a digital only subscription, which I didn't pay for), I have been billed four times for the same subscription, etc. I have called customer service numerous times for various problems. They are very unprofessional and unwilling to accommodate their loyal customers. They insisted I call iTunes for support, and argued, incorrectly, that I purchased from iTunes. The iPad subscription is supposed to be free with your first print subscription. My print subscription ends in december, but they cancelled my iPad subscription and want me to pay $25 for a new print and iPad subscription. I'm not sure why my iPad subscription ended early, and I'm also not sure why I need to pay twice for the same print subscription. I suggest that msl provide the iPad subscription free with print like most other magazines.

So impressed!

This is my first newsstand magazine, and like the reviewer before wrote, this iPad magazine makes me really excited about what mags on newstand will offer. First it is very beautifully ad interestingly laid out, using multiple different approaches to keep it interesting. I like how the recipes are on one page, so if you're not interested it's easy to get to the next one. If the recipe is longer than a page, you scroll within the page. Really cool! I also like the variety of different medium, with the use of video choices, print, etc. I really like how when you scroll down, you continue with your current article and when you scroll right or left, you go to the start of the article after or before the one your on. This is so much more convenient than paper and takes up no additional space. This means I will keep it. I really like this format and hope to see more of my favorite mags go to this.

THIS is what a magazine should be.

Of all the attempts to make use of the iPad's ability to deliver content, I think this magazine is the best so far. The content is amazing, the interface clear and easy to use, and I absolutely loved the embedded video/slideshows/panoramic photos. I am very impressed. I think MarthaStewartLiving is a great value for the price and something I would easily purchase again or buy a subscription for.

Yes, the file size is large, but I think it's a great trade-off for (a) having lots of content at the ready and (b) not having to depend on an internet connection just to read the magazine. I just took my iPad on a long trip and appreciated that very much. I don't worry about fitting lots of them on my device because, just like a paper magazine, it's meant to be read and discarded. You can always take it on or off your iPad or switch it out for later issues.

Beautiful work from MSLO. I hope other magazines will soon follow suit.
