    Love the magazine, hate the app

    I’ve read most of the comments on this app and I have to agree with the negative ones. Trying to download the digital version is IMPOSSIBLE!!! Is it really this difficult for your IT folks to fix? Very, very frustrating. I subscribe to other magazines with a digital version available and when I’m notified of the new edition, I press ONE button and less than 10 seconds later, it’s available to read. Please get this fixed!!!!

    New version is broken!

    I used to be able to access the digital copies with my print subscription - however, the new version does not authenticate properly and wants me to buy the digital versions, even though I have a print subscription! Whenever I try to log in with my subscriber number, I get an error message that I should try again later, and when I log in with my email address, the app doesn’t recognize me as subscriber. Not happy!

    User Interface is Poor

    As a long term subscriber, why does your i-pad app page always appear as if I am a new subscriber and have to sign into me account?

    Beautiful APP, Terrible Delivery

    I have been a subscriber to the print version for years and was happy when they finally announced that I could get the digital version as part of my existing subscription. The interface for the Oct. issue is great. It is more than just a PDF version of the magazine and really takes advantage of the iPad strengths. So why only two stars? Last week I recieved the next issue in the mail and thought, "Great, I have a couple trips coming up. It will be nice to be able to read this digitally while on the plane or waiting in airports". I openned the app library and no Nov. Issue. I now find out that they are only going to produce 9 out of 12 issues in digital form. Will November eventually appear? I don't know. What issues will come digitally? I don't know. The description above states, "Read and store digital versions within the app as they are released". The implication of the entire paragraph is that most of their volumes are available when actually it is limited to the few that they mention after the word "Include". Since the release of the digital versions does not match the release of the print versions and there is no mention of this in the description or in the app itself, it leaves the long time subscriber very frustrated.

    I'll never go back to the print edition!

    I love getting lost in T+L, especially when I'm sitting at home on the patio. It makes me feel like I'm on vacation myself. The iPad version brought a whole new depth to reading this publication, starting with the cover -- a short video clip that brings the still image to life. From there, you can immediately click to any of the cover articles, or proceed to the map and browse articles geographically. Alternate means of perusal are available through the app interface, which will be familiar to readers of other AMEX publications. Videos produced by the authors give the story a depth you'd never get from reading alone. Interactive quizzes provide a fun diversion, and slideshows allow me to easily explore more on destinations I find interesting. Overall I think this publication does a stellar job balancing information, presentation and exploration. I happily subscribed for the whole year.

    Beautiful app... but what issues can I buy?

    I've had this app almost since it came out. There were 3 free issues when I first installed it and then I bought two more issues for $3.99 each... I now have all 5 issues and there have been no new ones available for purchase for the past 4 months or so... I am apparently one of those FEW that would purchase electronic copies of what I get in the mail already, but THERE ARE NONE OFFERED. I guess they just want everyone to give them $8 - $12 and then not make any more content available in their app. Pity... like I said, they are beautiful and there are some of us here that would buy them.

    Overall a nice effort

    Having recently read many different Travel related iPad magazines to get a feel for what's new and interesting in this space, I find this one to be well done! I'm not experiencing the problems with past issues that others are experiencing and find the content and photography of the magazine to be well done. Interested in seeing creative new features that will separate this magazine or others from the pack.

    Once again they ask what I think of this app

    Interestingly, no matter how many email complaints I write or how many times I call, no one in this apps support structure can figure out that there is an issue with the app. But, when I periodically open the app to see if my "disappeared" issues have returned, a popup requests that I rate the app. Once again, I am giving one star because I can't give zero. The app and its cousin, Food and Wine, are broken. I can't download any digital versions since the May issue for either. I am a paid up subscriber with written documentation that I am entitled to free digital downloads. Guess this is what happens when Time Inc. gets its hands on you.

    Crappy Update

    Since the latest update, all of the issues I previously downloaded need to be re-downloaded. I wouldn't mind so much except it was like 20 issues. I don't have time to re-download every issue since your update reset everything. It would be nice if this was fixed so I could access my previously downloaded mags with doing it all over again. I like the previous version anyway. I'm not trying the new update until I can access my other mags. My subscription is up for renewal in less than a month. This will definitely determine whether I spend more money. Same thing is going on with my Food & Wine app. I'm really annoyed! #Frustrated!

    Navigation wish

    Very comparable to the print issue. Seems to me if I am paying for the print issue I should be able to get the app free. Also, I would like suggest that the navigation from one section of the issue is available on every page - perhaps tabs?

    Not Pleased

    Terrible app for a great magazine. It constantly tries to get me to re-purchase issues I have ALREADY PAID FOR, either through my print subscription, and then again through charges for individual issues. App treats you as a first-time user no matter how many times you have logged in. It tries to convince you to try the app, every time, and then re-buy the issue even when you are validly logged in as a subscriber. Shameless rip-off. I have complained several times, and oh well. At least with the print version you only have to buy each issue only once. The app developer should be publicly flogged for this.

    I hope this is fixed... FIXED

    I've been waiting for this mag on the iPad since day 1, and so excited to see it. Unfortunately, I can't get it to download the first issue. I'm not sure why only some users have this problem, but I'm very disappointed. I'm not giving up though... Waiting for a fix. UPDATE: Later in the same day, the download worked! So be patient, the content is worth it.

    Great that App Now Works on iPhone...Except it Doesn't

    Update: App STILL does not work on iPhone; specifically, it does not work on the iPhone 6 plus. What faulty advertising! When the app description says, "now works on iPhone," don't believe it-it does not! 'Need to reimburse subscribers for iPhone (6 plus) for charging for subscriptions through this App that has not been working for a month now! Original review: Will not load on iPhone 6 Plus. 'Says it is updating library; then, just loads a blank page. Also, there is no option in settings to restore previous purchases. App simply does not work on iPhone.

    Just downloaded the app

    I also downloaded the app and had no issues, I got the same error message but I was able to keep going with the download. The features are really nice,you can tap the pictures, And it provides more information. My assumption is they must have fixed the kinks in the download.

    Doesn’t Recognize Print Subscriber

    Like others are reporting the Travel + Leisure app does not recognize my digital account that I have as a print subscriber. I have quit/restarted the app and the iPad, logged out/back in, changed my password and logged in again using the new password but I am being asked to pay for issues. I have written to customer support for help but am still awaiting a reply although I am not hopeful based on comments here. Terrible app since other magazines seem to be able to get this functionality right.
