Unlike the popular books from the 80s "Decide Your Own Adventure Stories" include animations that bring the story to life.
You are the sole survivor of an ill-fated mission to seek out reserves of dark matter in the Rigel 7 region of the Orion nebula.
Space travel has become fast, reliable and commonplace thanks to the discovery of dark matter.
As you consider your options a silver flying saucer flies into view and is heading for your ship.
The story continues until you come to a dead end where you can start again for a different result.
The dark matter detector has just given a positive reading.
The co-ordinates point to a dark mysterious planet, just behind a bright green planet.
After you read each page you are given two options.
There are now 3 complete story lines to choose from with more to follow.
It's been a week since the oxygen recycling plant exploded killing almost everyone on board.
There is an escape pod with some more oxygen which you could use, but you are surrounded by space debris and it's less sturdy.
Each time you read you get a different result.
You are down to your last portable oxygen tank so things are getting desperate.

It's dumb, it has like NO story plot, only lasts for around a minute before it gives you a crappy ending and you gotta pay for more short stories that are almost exactly the same.
For example, my run through:
I am a gold seeker on a ship, but then randomly the ship sinks, so I join a nearby arriving pirate ship in hopes of surviving. Then I show my treasure map to the pirates to gain their trust, and we find the gold and I live as a pirate happily ever after. The end.
Keep in mind, all that lasted less than a minute.
I was looking for something interesting and time consuming, with a good plot and unique endings.
Needless to say, this was way below what I expected.

Though the stories are short (and somewhat similar) this game is a lot of fun to use alone and as a family. I suggest more stories though.

Pretty disappointing in ways of option and length. The "trial" story was small and semi-unappealing. It left me wanting an explanation and an ending. I have no desire to unlock any other stories for 99cents because the first one could not hook me.

My son and I had a lot of fun reading this together however it needs new stories now and than and apparently is discontinued 😞

Downloaded and finished in under 5 minutes the choices don't really tell you what you are about to do. Although it is free it doesn't really get you into it, seen better. Try game: choice of broadsides. At least a little better and still free!

When choosing any story but the first, the game crashes and becomes completely unresponsive. The first story was definitely entertaining; I just wish the rest of the game was playable.

I opened DecideYourOwnAdventureStories thinking it would be really cute, and when I tapped on a story, nothing happen. I opened and closed DecideYourOwnAdventureStories , and when I opened it back up, it still wouldn't work. It was a big disappointment and waste of time.

I got this one because I've always wanted to read a choose your own adventure book and two because I have a 4 year old brother who likes it when I read to him. Both story's are pretty similar in the options given and they are the only two stories. I even bought DecideYourOwnAdventureStories...not worth it because you don't get anything extra. So....make more stories with more diverse options. Thanks.
