I don't know how the app is, b/c I can’t get into it

I installed and used BlueCrossNC several weeks ago. Naturally, I can't remember my user name/password. When I try to use the login screen to find that information, neither the forgot button for User ID nor the one for Password work. They each bring up a pop-up notifying me I will be leaving the site and asking if that is okay. When I click continue, the pop-up goes away. But that's all. Nothing else opens, nothing comes up in its place, it just leaves me stranded. I have deleted and reinstalled BlueCrossNC and I get the same result. Sometimes BlueCrossNC tries to tell me I don't have a network connection, but when I check that, I do, and it's pretty strong. You do know this is partly why we’re so frustrated with our healthcare insurance, right? Things you tell us are for our convenience and that you use as a selling point, don’t actually work. Maybe just make sure they work before you roll them out?

Inaccurate provider list

BlueCrossNC is not accurate. Last week, I searched for a rheumatologist and when I called the practice there was no doctor in their whole medical system by that name who was a rheumatologist. I have no confidence in the accuracy of the information that I get here. And to make the situation worse for patients (AKA clients or consumers in BCBS’s apparent understanding), if I ask a practice if that are in network for my plan they can say a quick yes and be wrong or refuse to confirm or deny and put the burden back on the insurance company. When I call the insurance company the phone representative inevitably tells me that I can use the unreliable app. What a runaround! And it’s high stakes for a patient when the mystery medical bill finally arrives months later.

App doesn’t even work

Bcbsnc is terrible. Their website doesn’t work BlueCrossNC doesn’t work. How can I get BlueCrossNC to work? I just want a simple way to pay my bill each month or have autopay. Instead, I have to call into an automated system and punch in the numbers every time. This is ridiculous especially with how much insurance cost you would think they would take some of the billions they make and help make life easier for the ones that pay for this.

By the way, a -5 star rating would be appropriate

Does not work, do something about it

I cant believe just by reading through the reviews on here that the developers haven’t worked out these issues. I see people from 3 years ago saying the same thing is happening to them as to me right now. It wont allow you to even log in correctly, i need to change my password every time just to make it work, i literally use the same word and then next time it says my info is wrong again. Awful experience with BlueCrossNC.

No longer works at all

Update: after no help at all from tech support I decided to just delete BlueCrossNC . A while later I reinstalled it and like magic it worked. This was happening on both of my devices so no idea what caused it but I’ll remember that going forward.

For the last couple weeks whenever I open BlueCrossNC on my iPad or iPhone, I get the following in a red box above the user ID box before I even enter anything: Blue Connect Mobile is not accessible at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. So, BlueCrossNC is totally useless now. It was Ok for quick lookups of EOBs, etc but if you’re going to do away with it, maybe a less generic message. I can still login using a browser and get what I need so I am deleting BlueCrossNC from all our devices. To answer the easy questions, we are on the latest IOS version on all devices and we keep BlueCrossNC updated regularly.

Can't select providers after update

I was able to select providers not long ago. Now it shows them as available, but none of them show a button to select them as a provider, in their profile or on the list, despite them accepting the plan. I am in the provider preferences. Before the update, this sent me to a list of doctors to choose from. Now it sends me to the "Find a Provider" page, which never allowed selecting providers to begin with. And I still have to Google providers to see where they work. BlueCrossNC's even more useless now.

Review

This experience was horrible. If I could give no stars I would but then you would think I forgot to fill that out. Calling the bcbs rep was also a horrible experience. The whole thing hinges on opening BlueCrossNC . So trying to do this with a bcbs rep on the phone with me, this did not happen. With today’s technology, and a live voice working through this it should be simple. But it was impossible. Talk with your IT people on how to make their bcbs computer experience easier. Really it should be very simple. Even trying to log in with the information on my bcbs card it would tell me the information was wrong. For example they asked for subscriber Id and they kept telling me whoops something is wrong. But I triple checked and I was putting the right number in. I could go on and on but I am going to stop now.

Constantly malfunctioning

I can't tell you the number of times I've seen messages like, "BlueCrossNC is unavailable at this time" "we could not retrieve your account balances at this time" "account not found." My support tickets aren't even being sent to the correct email address. Not to mention I have to reset my password every time I log in without biometrics (which is often unavailable) because the password criteria is impossible to create a memorable password. All I want to do is view my account, see if I owe money, just basic insurance stuff. I regularly cannot get the answers I need. I don't think it's too much to ask to have a generally functional app.

Providing, incorrect provider information

I was provided with incorrect provider information through a link they sent to find in-network primary care doctor and physical therapist and once I had made appointments and seen the doctors when the claims were sent for my visits it was denied and waited till I called to inform that the provider informed sent to me was incorrect. Now still even after the mistake and miscommunication expect me the patient to go through the repealing process to except the claims, also I’m now put in a position to find another primary care physician and another physical therapist that’s actually in network. Who knows can’t trust Blue Cross as I was initially given wrong information. What’s the guarantee that this is NOT going to happen again.
I’m very disappointed.

Worst app ever to get started in…

UPDATE: a massive user pet peeve is every time you update BlueCrossNC having to login to BlueCrossNC with our passwords. BlueCrossNC should hold our passwords and usernames without us having to reset them every time.

Just registering with it is a royal PITA. I’m an app developer and BlueCrossNC is so horribly counterintuitive it’s 👎. Also not to mention they don’t offer text notifications, only via email is archaic. Took me three tries and a phone call to Blue Cross just to be able to register the conflicting information they ask for where spaces don’t necessarily match what’s on your card! Get it together BCBS. There’s a reason you have such horrible reviews and ratings.!

Flex Card Scan feature does not allow opening the camera

Trying to use the Flex card option and access the scan option to be able to check is a product is covered by my card, but BlueCrossNC doesnt want to access to the camera.
Reported this 3 weeks ago and no solution, very frustrating to be at the store and not able to scan what is cover or not, what a wait of time

Please stop asking if I found what I wanted

This question pops up repeatedly when I go on the site as soon as I click on something. I have no idea if I found what I was looking for because I haven’t had a chance to look at it. Very annoying. Other than that, the site is good and easy to maneuver and I do find what I’m looking for but you need to give people a chance to look at what they’ve opened.

Not dependable

This is a horrible app. Yes. Things are easy to find on BlueCrossNC and it is nice to have a digital copy of your card. But every month, paying my bill is drama. BlueCrossNC will randomly close, doesn’t bring up the scrolling dates when I tap on them for my card info, and then if I manage to get to the end by some miracle, more times than not it will say there is a “system error” and to try again later.

Payment

BlueCrossNC is great most of the time… but it seems like every month for the last 6 months there’s been a problem with paying online… and it gets really annoying my payment is due on the 1st but when I go to submit payment there’s always something wrong and all the information is entered is correct… needs to be better

Over the counter hard to use

The OTC feature is hard to use. I have an iPhone and there is no way to allow the camera to connect to allow the ability to scan bar codes. Therefore we were surprised that several of the items we purchased were not covered. Hope this can be fixed.

Claims

Claims take what feels like forever to be processed. I know they are allowed 60 days. I know that I have met my deductible and out of pocket but now I have to wait until everything is processed. I go to doctors appts and they try to charge me even though I know everything has already been satisfied. So now I have to wait or pay and then hope to get the money back.

An app that actually makes my life easier

Easy to log in and view every bit of my info needed, make payments and even instantly show my ID card. Is it super fast? No... but it doesn’t need to be when it is loading a crap ton of useful info for our eyes to feast on. Great app if you actually want to see your information relatively quickly and easily. This is hands down easier to use than the web site.

App

I think BlueCrossNC is great. What I dislike is the length of time it takes to process big claims. Normally, once the claim shows up on BlueCrossNC , it takes 3-5 days to process. All of a sudden, on a claim that was high $$$ amount, it is taking for ever. And there are even a couple claims with service dates more than two weeks ago not even showing up on BlueCrossNC . Sorry, this causes me not to trust BCBS, not that they care.

Amazing customer service experience

I had a really great experience last night where your app really helped me.

I was at the pharmacy trying to get a flu shot with my son. The pharmacist said that his birthdate wasn’t matching in the insurance system. Which didn’t seem right.

I popped into BlueCrossNC and tried to just verify what you had for his birthdate. So I started a chat in BlueCrossNC and someone named Cindy (I think?) helped me.

At first I was just trying to make sure his birthdate was correct in the bcbs system (it was). Cindy actually volunteered to call the pharmacy while I was there to straighten things out. She spent forever on hold - I had to tell the pharmacist to pick up the dang phone. She got it all fixed while I was there and my son was able to get his shot.

That was really great customer service. Terrible from Walgreens, but great from you all. Thank you.

Pretty good

I really enjoy BlueCrossNC, but I occasionally have trouble logging on and have to delete it and reload it and that’s very frustrating. There are other times when I log into it and it won’t let me play. See if you can fix this.
