Cam Scanner was a pretty neat app that focused on great scans/captures using your phone or tablet, thus bridging the gap between a genuine scanner and an image or .jpg

I purchased Cam Scanner.

Now a subscription is required to access the same features that I and others already purchased.

And that’s where this review stops.

People! Customers! Users! Players!
Stop being ‘nice’ about subscriptions!
You’ve already paid for a thing, right? Why are you now being required to pay for it again?!
Because developers can get away with it?

This isn’t logical, reasonable or feasible anywhere in the world or society unless you happen to be in the business of cement boots and breaking things with baseball bats. Even then, it isn’t OK. It’s just something someone who’s bigger than you can get away with, for now.

Developers:
Great, amazing, inspiring, awesome apps are created with drive, passion, purpose and vision, not with complacency and a monthly fee. Even if an initial purchase is required, the user can rest easy knowing that the developer is working hard to make their creation even better and it is perfectly reasonable for the dev to request payments for upgrades.
It isn’t reasonable to expect users to pay a never-ending fee for something that may be great one day, but just not today.
Have the courage to make something great and stop bowing to Apple’s latest greedy idea.

I have the paid version. For over a year CamScannerOCRScanner did not work properly due to it not being up to date with one of the iOS updates some years back. Now it functions properly like it should with even better features. But now it keeps telling me I have to pay for it. I purchased the “pro” version of this YEARS ago. What gives. Why are you trying to charge me again. Now it constantly freezes and this is just a big disappointment

I paid for the "plus" version of CamScannerOCRScanner , and simply ignored its repeated offer to sell me cloud storage, since I use Dropbox. Now however the simple upgrade of creating folders in CamScanner requires a $5 per month or $50 per year subscription. There are too many alternatives to this simple app to tolerate this, particularly after I already paid for it. Trying other apps.

Been using CamScannerOCRScanner for a long time. Amazing, although if you want to send an email with the scanned pdf the send button doenst work. Thus the integration with iOS doesnt work properly. They need to fix this....

Because OneNote is a memory hog, I found myself in need of an app that could not just scanned documents but could store them on the fly. Enter CamScanner.

It's a very easy app by simply pointing, shooting, cropping and saving any document you wish to have scanned.

My only bone of contention with this application is that even as a paid app it still requires you to complete certain tasks to gain "free storage" in the cloud. And even when you do complete what it requires, you don't always get the bump in storage space. A paid subscriber should not feel like it's been taken hostage; this foolishness should be saved for the free version. Once CamScanner fixes this problem I will edit my review and give it five stars.

I’ve tried various scanning apps, until I stumbled across this one! It’s very user friendly, and I’ve had good results so far! Even the free version is good! I have the plus version, which means I’m not bombarded with ads all the time! I have no problems with paying a one time price for an app, but I refuse to pay for the subscription version! Kudos to the creators of CamScannerOCRScanner!

This is the perfect app in its category. Gives me a quick pdf or jpeg for documentation etc. it works every time. Exactly how I need and want it to. Can email to myself in a few taps, email to someone else with a few taps. Simply perfect and wonderful.

I’m a realtor and small business owner and I use CamScannerOCRScanner all the time on the go or at home. It’s faster, better, and quicker than my printer/scanner. I used the free app for a while and thought they more than earned my business so I upgraded to the paid version for the sole reason that I wanted to pay them. It had nothing to do with the upgraded features.

I use CamScannerOCRScanner for everything and no longer need to save paper copies, receipts, product instructions, recipes, etc. It has a very useful whiteboard feature that is great to categorize whiteboard pics from meetings. Highly recommend.

Working on a custody case against my kids mother, the courthouse wanted $0.75 per page to make copies of a 120 page document. So I downloaded CS Scan, it worked amazing!!! I would’ve paid $100+ for those copies then had to scan them just to email to the files to my attorney; with CS Scan I scanned all 120 pages right at the court house and sent them off right from my phone. If you need to scan, then you need “CS Scan” the plethora of in-app options to suit personal, business or professional needs! Get It Today!

I have been using CamScannerOCRScanner for years for work and it works very well. There are definitely some opportunities for improvement, but it's better than the others I've see on the market.

As a college professor, I recommend CamScanner to all my students. It is a great free app for students to take photos of their statistics homework and then create a PDF that easily uploads to Canvas learning management system (LMS). PDF work better for grading then uploading large jpeg files.

I used CamScannerOCRScanner for some time while traveling. It helped me organize scanned assets.
Stop travel and also stop using app for a while. I thought I lost those assets. When reinstall, it seems to work well again.

Don’t know how many times CamScannerOCRScanner has saved me from looking for an office scanner. By far the most useful app on my phone for professional issues.

I had some major issues and could not fix them. The tech support never gave up on me and with their perseverance, l was able to fix everything. I highly recommend CamScanner
over all the other similar apps.

It would be nice that once I email the document that the file automatically closes rather than having to back out of the “process” to start another document.

A student gave me a document written in light orange pen. This was the only scanner that could produce a legible electronic copy. App is great for color scans. It is easily adjustable, but does an incredible job finding the edges of the page and determining contrast/brightness without any user input. AMAZING!! (Only addition I would love to see is an ability to write/type on scans.- this was added, yay!!)

I have been using this and related camcard app for several years. Magic color feature and control over edge boundaries with distortion compensation are what make it exceptional in my view. Photos fall way short in comparison, with reflections, non-uniform lighting and distortion. Try it and you won't go back. Superb for capturing white board sessions.

I've been using CamScannerOCRScanner for several years now it keeps getting better cloud storage seals the deal. Just what I needed easy to use scanner on the fly that allows me to create and email PDF files and email them them. Now I can upload them to the cloud in case I need them later so I don't jam up my email or my phone. Nice job.

I always recommend CamScannerOCRScanner to everyone that I know whenever the occasion arises that we need to send a PDF copy.

CamScannerOCRScanner is so much easier and faster to use than a copier, or the scanner on my printer, and the quality of the images always far superior.
