Excellent app!!!

A great way to reclaim lost time and build your faith. Have you ever went into a store and then after you leave you have a song or a tune on your heart? That’s what Bible is great for. It stores the word on your heart. It’s amazing how many times the scriptures come back to you when you need them. If used regularly it creates a huge platform in your heart for God to draw from when you need it. It has been countless times that I have faced a situation or a relationship and God’s word will come to mind. I am literally shocked at all the scripture that flows into my conversations. Out of the overflow of the heart your mouth speaks the this app says. Bible will assist you in building that overflow.
Parents! This is a great way to get the word into your children. We would play the this app every night at bed time. Your kids will be bringing up scripture and growing in a Christian world view. You can create an overflow in their hearts just by being faithful to turn the word on at bed time. You will find that your children will point out when the culture or even Christian messages don’t line up with the this app. You will be shocked when your kids bring up Old Testament life examples and relate them to daily living and much more. I can’t say enough about how listening to the word has blessed my family!!

Sought and found God

Great app to both read and listen to the Word of God. There is hope! God is Holy. He is perfect, therefore, he cannot tolerate our sin. We are sinful and have been separated from Him. The Good news is He sent Jesus to live a perfect life, overcome sin, allow himself to be sacrificed (He did no wrong), and was raised 3 days after dying on the cross (overcame sin and death). Through His shed blood (which is the perfect sacrifice) we can be reconciled to God. John 3:16- For God loved the world so much that he gave his Son Jesus that whoever believes in Him will not be cut-off from God, but will have external life. What is preventing you from confessing your sins and receiving Christ? He is real, He is worthy, He is Holy, He is Gracious, and He can forgive you of your sins and you can have a relationship with Him. The God of the universe wants a relationship with you. Just think about that for a minute. Listen to the book of John in Bible. Pray that He would make himself know to you, seek and you will find. God is so good!

Massive accessibility issues VoiceOver

In order for this application to be accessible with voiceover, three things need to be done. The media player icon is not visible to the screen reader user very easily without having to essentially weasel through the window. The way that the design is unfortunately does not permit voiceover users to find easily the option to play because everything is all combined into one window. We will need to make final adjustments to that. One app you might use as a reference for how you might want to design is the this app Gateway app. Their player is a separate window by itself. And then you can adjust the audio player that you choose. I suggest this as an idea because unfortunately when you have a design such as this it is not very user-friendly. No I have heard from many people that visually the application looks nice and very well organized. But the downside is unfortunately voiceover users will not be able to use Bible very efficiently, without having to as I said deal with things getting in the way such as the screen at the far right-hand side where the welcome text is. Bible looks like it’s more designed for tablets as opposed to phones. But it’s designation. As I said unfortunately I did not see a player icon, there was a download icon. But there is not an actual play button. Where you could actually play the audio. Unfortunately anyway. If you need further suggestions, let me know.

Love this app but latest version needs help

This is my favorite this app app and includes great audio, easy bookmarking, etc. Bible has been and continues to be a huge blessing and I hope that below feedback on that latest version is seen as constructive criticism. The latest version doesn’t have nearly the user-experience of previous editions. It’s much more clunky to navigate between books. Now I often need to press a button several times when choosing a book from their new list format and the list format isn’t nearly as easy to use as the previous simple drop-down menu above the current passage. Copying text now strangely includes a copyright notice and a separate link (which makes no sense if you simply want to paste text into the notes on your phone during a sermon, etc.). As another reviewer mentioned, downloads now also take much longer. While the new app has new features like controlling playback speed, that choice of playback speed is not retained between tracks. I do appreciate the new option to turn off background music and the additional accompanying videos, but those features should have been introduced without sacrificing functionality that worked like a charm. No doubt, these issues can be addressed and coming releases.

Liking the older version better

As I love Bible, I wish that some things were different. As it stands, I like the older version of Bible WAY better than the newer version. The older version was easier to navigate and operate than the newer version. I wish that Bible had automatic scrolling when you listen to the audio this app being read. It would be nice to read along with the audio reader as they read without having to manually scroll the screen to keep up. This version is not easy to go from one book of the this app to the next, or chapter and verse. The older version was simpler in that regard. I also liked the screen display better with the older version. The older version was just better in my opinion. I wish apps would allow a person to preview what the update would be before they click on “update”. Or at lease pick if they want certain things changed, and maybe go based on what the feedback is to get better results. Also, it would be nice to have an option to un-install an apps updates if you weren’t pleased with it. I Love God and I Love His Word!! Thank you for providing Bible and for listening. God bless!!!

Falling Stars

For years Bible has been a 5 star daily lifeline to the this app and many great features but recent upgrades especially the current one May 2020 has taught me that developers are not acting prudently. In a past upgrade simple problems began to emerge like searches causing program crashes and the removal of features that didn’t make any sense were in explicable and no replies to my attempts to reach out. Now, such a trend accelerates to unacceptable levels as the most recent upgrade has been disastrous for me. Frequent crashes, freezes and difficulty navigating forced me to use the browser version (which is better in some ways and worse in others). I tried the typical fixes to no avail. The only reason I didn’t give a 1 star rating here is out of my respect and deep appreciation for how Bible served me in the past.

This review could be so much longer if I went into detail on specifics. I’m just so disappointed as I loved Bible and now struggle to use it at all let alone on a daily basis as I have in the past (since the most recent update). I hope it’s just me but thought it important to write this review in case others are are experiencing it. Peace!

Like it MOSTly.

For the most part, I really like Bible . I only use the KJV and it’s a great way to listen to it audibly. (I’ve prolly listened to the entire KJV this app with this and have only noticed two reading errors and they weren’t doctrinal, so all in all, it’s great with all of the sound effects.) Most of the characters voices are used for other characters throughout the Old and New Testament. Some of them are REALLY annoyingly bad, (Like the voice of Jacob in Genesis and some of the ones in Proverbs.) but I’m just being picky at that point. One other bad thing. Every now and then when I try to listen to Bible , it doesn’t load, it says “oops, there’s an error and cannot play at the moment.” Or something along those lines, and it just won’t play for a while. I sometimes close Bible out and reopen it and it’ll work. After all is said and done, I’m MOSTly pleased with it. It’s helped my devotions and given me a different perspective on how things are said with different voices. Thankful to God for it and hope they change the voice of Jacob in Genesis some day, haha. 🙂

Helps bring the Bible to life

I really like this dramatization of the this app. I wish there were multiple versions to choose from, but I understand each is a full on performance and therefore costly. I’m fine with the version here, appreciate that it’s free for me. I also like that I can listen at a higher speed than 1x. 1x sounds drawling to me. I set it higher and read along, as this helps get the Word into my brain. However, the pace slows back down again sometimes when new chapters start. (Even though it will still show as set at the speed I chose.) So I bounce back and forth between 1.5x and 1.6x, because when it slows down I have to go in and change the speed again to get it to pick up the pace again. This is an easy work around, since I am actively reading while listening. But would be a pain if I just wanted to listen without having Bible opened up in front of me. Overall though, I am very happy with Bible.

Using this App since 2013

I really have been using Bible since 2013. I was injured on a military deployment near the end of 2012 and sent back to the USA. I felt alone and reached out to God more than ever before. I needed to hear His word while I got dressed in the mornings and while I did assignments and was alone. I filled every moment with His word. Bible allowed me to read or listen. Bible allowed me to listen and read at the same time which doubled my learning capacity. It is easy to use and hasn't changed drastically since the beginning. I can plug it into my car and listen as well. The Jesus Film is such a great bonus because I was in Campus Crusade for Christ in college when Dr. Bill Bright was around and in charge. The Jesus Film has had such a big impact all over the world and has its own ministry. Bible has so much to share. It is a must on my phone!!!
I believe it is the best this app app to use. It has pulled me thru dark times and been a battle buddy all on its own.

Love it! Helps when reading is difficult!

Bible has helped me SO MUCH! There’s times when it’s difficult to differentiate who is saying what to who. There’s other times when names and places are difficult to read or pronounce in my mind. There’s even other times when lineages of historical accounts are lengthy and hard for me to read all the way through. And plainly, sometimes my focus is just hard to focus (we all have tough days). But letting the audio from Bible take over the difficult parts really helps a lot to get through those difficult humps! I highly recommend Bible, if anything for at least a backup to one’s own this app. But also having the this app on an app means you’ll always have one handy, so there’s no excuse to not having it to read (Because it’s always on your phone. And also, because it can EVEN read the this app to you!). #AlwaysBeReady

Too slow

This was a great app. Now, 2020, it is too slow and it is difficult to get around. Why do you have to go to a different menu just to change from Old Testament to New Testament? I used to this app drill with a persons phone/pad and a this app book, and Bible was very fast. Now if I try to use this at church the text is not found soon enough before the pastor has moved on to new text leaving you struggling(waiting due to loading issues)to get to that one, and bottom line you miss the message and have been distracted by a phone/pad! Not good changes! Please consider removing these changes.
Also this was so easy for my children as young as four to open, turn on, and listen to this app before. Now five and having difficulty finding the correct section( menu) to get to the the books, then having to select OT or NT and then he ends up leaving the pad laying because it is stuck in loading. Resulting in No this app was listened to. You ask yourself is that what you wanted?
What happened to the non drama/music KJV. It doesn’t say that when you select it, but that is what it is, distracting music/dramaish style. More options please.

Sorry to have to go

I used to give this a 5 but as of Aug 2020 I have decided to find a new APP. I’m not a tech wiz but with these new changes you need to be. I’ve been using Bible since 2014. Haven’t used for a few months and went back to find such drastic changes it is unusable. I spend all the time I have just figuring out how to do anything. Found one info page by accident. When I went out of it to try something it didn’t work and now can’t find the page. After 2 weeks of off and on fustration I find I need to spend more time praying about temper, bad attitude, and short tempers instead of reading the word and having a time of peaceful prayer Hope Bible is a blessing to many. God may have some techies out there who love to play with an app. Hope this works for you. Unfortunately bad timing for me as I’m going to be in the hospital in a couple weeks and no longer have an easy to use app for my stay. I wish we were given options to change. I was happy with the way it was. God Bless and I hope Bible works for and blesses many

Reading Along is a Great Way to Study!

I use this application to help me do my daily this app study! Praise God for the ministry of Faith Comes by Hearing. The world is noisy to the point it can easily cloud your mind when reading. Reading along with Bible helps block out the noise and helps me focus. Alternatively you could read out loud; however, I appreciate hearing the pronunciation of words and names I’m not familiar with which helps me study and know God even better! Below is a good place to start for unbelievers as well as believers! The bad news is you’re going to die for your sin, but that’s what makes the good news so good! Jesus can save you from it! Admit you’re a sinner in need of a savior. Romans 3:10,23 & Romans 6:23. Believe Jesus is Lord and conquered death through the resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 & Ephesians 2:8-9 Call upon the name of the Lord. Romans 10:13

I want the old version back

This this app apps was one of my go to app for the past two years until this new update. Now it’s not as quiet and meditative as it was before. This is the Word of God I don’t need to hear some echo of God to interrupt my quiet and simple narrative nor do I need background music. I just want to read the this app audibly and meditate on it as I would do reading it. Since I’m on the road a lot I relied on Bible so much and I’ve not been able to stomach the noise now you’ve included in it. If I want entertainment I know where to go. Please include the classic option to silence everything else but the reader. It was so creative how you had different narrators for each book. It was almost like hearing those prophets unique voices. Please you’ve cause me a lot of confusion lately I need to return to that quiet place. Thanks for the good work so far but please include the very quiet or as I’m calling it the classic option. Thanks

This app is well made!

Bible is so good, I’ve been looking for a Audio this app App that doesn’t have Robots reading to you and that sound like its really going on; a Dramatized Audio this app. Bible is just too good, I highly recommend it but there’s 2 bugs that I came across, one is when Bible is in the background and your phone is in sleep mode it would play backwards instead of going chronologically. Another is that if you have WiFi on and it happens only with WiFi on - after a chapter is played it’ll pause and you’ll have to manually press next and play again. Of course if anyone is dealing with this you’ll need to listen to Bible without WiFi for now until this bug is fixed. Those are 2 bugs, once these are fixed Bible would be 10/10, right now its 9.9/10.

Downloads are fixed for me.

I love the this app app and I use this and you version. I love the new living translation on you version app and I wish this had it as well. The reason for the two star review is downloading. Downloading is very slow, took me a little while to understand how to do it, and it crashes both my new iPhone X and my old iPhone 6 when I download more than one book at a time.
After the update two days ago, I did lose my downloads but I was able to download the audio this app without any problems or crashes. So glad this is the only app that you can download and listen to off-line in case if there was ever an Internet outage or power outage. The audio this app has really helped me as sometimes I don’t like to read but I’d like to listen.

Do not like it after it’s been updated look for update below

The older version was sooo much better. It was so much easier to switch between versions and You were able to tell which ones dramatized and have different voices.
Here it’s extremely difficult haven’t quite figured it out every time I guess because I don’t come on here as often as I used to do that I don’t remember how to do things but it’s just not convenient are used to switch frequently in one sitting.

Now it’s just like any other this app app I might as well just stick with the YouVersion this app but I used to like to do that one and this app is specially in the old testament ,the gospels, and Actsbecause I like to hear the different voices but now it’s just too complicated I don’t even know if that still an option

Sept 4th after leaving the previous review I was contacted by this app is and they were helpful to help me find the things I was looking for and gave showed me the tutorial.
So I am much happier with it now than I was and I will continue to use it.… But sorry I still like the old version better. But that just might be me I’m not good with change and I’m sure as I use it more I will get used to it and will really like it I do like that there’s plants and stuff on it now

Quirky

I love the content of Bible but I find it very quirky to use. It takes a long time to open Bible even if it has gone to sleep. It is an audio this app but the playback controls disappear right after you hit play and you need to scroll to get them to reappear. Sometimes they won’t reappear and you have to close and reopen Bible which is time consuming. I have downloaded a version in the past which took several days even though I was in WiFi. Then an update of Bible came through and Bible can no longer find my download. I haven’t downloaded it again because I don’t want it to take days and then just lose it with the next update all the while taking up big chunks of memory. I will still use Bible but it is frustrating. And one more item, I am having trouble posting the comment because all the nick names are taken.

The Word when I’m too busy to sit, or eyes too tired to read.

I am so strengthened by this ap. Hearing it dramatized helps me to imagine and understand the Word better, especially in passages that are hard to read.
I only have one negative comment. The women voices sometimes seem ‘just not right’. Several times they sounded very seductive, which I feel didn’t fit with the content. I can see when the daughter-in-law was playing a harlot, but when, for instance, Queen Esther was speaking, the seductiveness doesn’t seem appropriate for how I feel she is portrayed in the this app. This happened several times , in several books. And also the female voice in several verses seemed screechy.
Other than that I love it. Such an encouragement!
Other than that, I love listening.

Used to be incredible

I have used Bible for many years, and it was phenomenal, but with the latest upgrades it is become almost worthless. I use it as part of my daily this app reading plan by listening to various versions of the this app and never had a problem with it in the several years I used it, but since this upgrade I have yet to even have one day in the last few months where I have not had to clear Bible from memory and restart it to be able to have the audio version to start working. Many days it takes six or seven or more restarts before I can get through three or four chapters of the this app. More often than not it requires a restart after each chapter. I have even let Bible buffer to see if it would load on its own to no avail, even after 30 minutes of buffering it still doesn’t loads the audio for Bible. A very major frustration. Please fix Bible .

Θαύμα!

A this app in text and audio in virtually every language on earth, including -- and this is what attracted me to it since I am a Classical scholar and translator-- the original Greek of the New Testament in the best text there is, the official text of the Greek Orthodox Church, downloadable as opposed to a web this app, so you need not go online to use it .... for FREE. The audio is also excellent. There is really no disagreement among scholars that Greek of the 1st Century was pronounced as modern Greek is today, and not as Classical Greek was. Typically, when the New Testament is recited, it is done so in the Erasmian pronunciation which is a guess at what Classical Greek sounded like, only because most students of Ancient Greek are taught that pronunciation and do not know how to pronounce modern Greek. What’s worse is that it is done so by Anglo-speakers. The result is terrible, and one can be assured that no such articulation was ever heard in ancient times. It was not the way Greek was ever pronounced, if it ever was pronounced exactly that way at all, since the 1st Century BC. Bible lets the user hear what New Testament Greek really sounded like. The announcer is a native speaking Greek, and he was recorded in what appears to be a cathedral, since his voice reverberates — a nice touch. And did I mention that it is all offered for free? Remarkable.

Best Bible app out there!!

I had been looking for an audio this app app that's not in a monotone voice and came across this this app app that has dramatized audio this app ranging from NIV to KJV version. When I tell you guys I have never ever been so excited to be in my word than this. I read multiple chapters and can understand much better especially with the different character voices that do such a great job of portraying the emotions of the characters. Instead of listening to music I just put Bible on my radio with my aux cord. But that's not it it even has Christian movies you can watch on that app and I was able to find my native language Swahili as well as my tribal language. Bible truly lives up as the best this app app out there! So, just download it and see what you've been missing out!

Greatest thing since the Bible!

Love the Drama options and the way it separates the voices and makes it easy to follow along and understand. Many years ago I was hit by a car, with severe head injuries and in a coma for 9 days. Throughout all my school years, I had very bad learning problems, and couldn't comprehend what I read. But when read to, I could tell you everything about it and answer my test and book reports correctly. Bible does that very same thing. I'm able to take it all in and understand it. And the Drama version helps me visualize what's being said and makes it even more enjoyable. For the past several years I've let myself kinda slip away from my faith, Bible is reeling me back in and making it fun. I highly recommend it!

My relationship with God has never been better

I have felt a connection with God more each day it seems over the last few years. I've recently started for the first time to be closer to him and to become a better person. To live life the way I should be, in the way he would want me to. I've never read the this app, but always set it as a goal. I have recently moved and have a 35 minute drive. On this drive I have pledged to listen to the this app. Bible so far is amazing, I use the dramatized King James Version so that the situations come to life more. I feel that I understand it more than when I've gone to church and have had it narrated by a pastor. 5/5 for quality and easiness to use. Can read as it plays or in my case just turn it on while I drive.

Retired Pastor

I don’t know how I could ever go through my day or especially the night before I go to bed, without hearing the Word of God from your excellent app!!!...
I especially love the audio and the Visual Portrayal, behind the portions of Scripture/or telling of a Stories, “such as When God created the Earth” {and later the Heavens}as well as so many choices of Languages for all the peoples of Gods Earth
(You might think it “strange or silly” to mention, but the three articles at the end of my sentences mean, In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!!!...An accidental fourth article would be only proper and Holy, which adds after The Holy Spirit/Ghost, there would be a great “Amen”!!!!....)
So, I hope you like my review, but I guess it’s time to finish this review and listen to the Word of God by hearing it through using your excellent app! Thank you for writing Bible “Faith Comes by Hearing!!!...

Please may you have you and your staff, pray for me(To restore my voice), as I’ve had a Stroke which pearlised my left Vocal cord, which keeps me from Preaching Gods Holy Word anymore!!!...(unless I’m healed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ)

Best audio bible ever!

I have zero complaints. Love Bible! The back ground noise from the music to the birds to the wars with mettle clanging and soldiers shouting is amazing! You can tell a lot of effort was put into Bible. Well done!
I also love that the whole this app is read like a real life audio play. Different voices for each character etc. all of this combined really helps you to understand and know what’s going on as it plus out.
You can also read along with it as it plays.
Select what book you want to read and so much more. I recommend Bible every time I get the chance.
If I ever have any issues or ideas that Bible could be made better I will post it here down below. But so far it’s perfect.

Love it but often the audio doesn’t play

I love Bible and I want to use it to listen to the whole this app. It makes it interesting and is not boring to listen to. It would not put you to sleep or be so boring that your mind wanders. This is because they use different voices in music and lots of dynamics. My problem with it is that often it will only play one chapter for me and the next chapter just never can load or play. I am very frustrated with this. I am trying to listen to it at home in the mornings with my satellite Wi-Fi. I hope the producers can do something to fix it or maybe the problem is on my side -I don’t know but I’m about to look for a different this app to listen to because this I don’t have time in the mornings to fiddle with this every day and that makes me sad because I really like it and wanted to listen to the entire this app.

Insomnia

The nights I can’t sleep but even the nights when I can’t sleep I keep the this app running all night and when I wake up and can’t go back to sleep I get to listen to God’s word till I go back to sleep. I’m able to hear the word and pray it as it is being read! The best reading I’ve ever tried. The different voices keeps you so excited as you listen. Praise God.
A great witness tool, found a lady that was going blind sure just apathy or and put it on her phone she was so excited. Another person couldn’t speak English but spoke some type of Asian language. She was very excited. Share with Hispanic people blessed them too. I love sharing God‘s word this is a good way to do it. Thank you this app .is!

Great aid in daily Bible reading

I am a very slow reader and can get stuck on certain books that are "slower" than others. My attention can wander and I find myself having to re-read over again. this app-Is helps me get out of that rut and get more reading done by allowing me to read the text and listen to the recording. It helps me focus and try to understand more deeply.
If Bible could have a "bouncing ball" type of addition to follow the words on the text along with the recording, that would make it that much more perfect! I find if I take my eyes off the text for a moment, I lose my place. Thank you for this great service.

Amazing Tool!

We pursue extremely busy lifestyles and our smartphones are usually distracting us from engaging in building meaningful relationships.

What better relationship to build than one with Christ? This tool has made it possible to take full advantage of situations I once thought were stressful. Now when I am sitting in traffic, I can listen to the Word of God. My long drives, breaks during the day, and idol times are now a blessing to get my life back on track.

My perspective shift and worship time with God has become more accessible in this unacceptable world we live in. The best defense is to renew our minds daily and wash each other with the Word of God.

Ms. Linda Towner Sharma

My go-to this app app.
Easy to choose favorite choice of Bibles. Books and verses are just a finger tap away, and a finger tap to continue reading. Also easy to select to listen, or just to read.
Other apps., offer basically all of the same study aids such as underlining, taking notes, etc. but I find them much more difficult to use. They require much more time to change from one option to another.
I like to take it to Church Service’s, because I am able to quickly switch from passage to passage, and keep up with references that are given and referred to in the sermon.
Thank you this app IS.

Phenomenal App

Bible has helped my walk with God in so many ways! In fact my first time ever reading/listening to the this app, it was through Bible. This is my go-to whenever I don’t have my physical this app on hand. The KJV Drama is what I read/listen to and it has given me such a great sense of context when reading and understanding the Word of God. Everything about Bible and the ministry they’re building is truly amazing and has been a blessing to me and many others. I full support what Faith Comes by Hearing is doing and I pray they continue to create audio Bibles in various languages! Bible is SO slept on. Please support these people!

BIBLE:IS

I love this this app and I love that it can read to me and I can follow along and sometimes it’s understood even more when I read it back again and listen to it again because I’m trying to learn everything that I can about this but I will about the content of this but I will believe in Jesus Christ and that he died for my sins and I believe everything that’s in this this app everything that I have so far read I learn a little more every time I read it and it’s going to be my favorite book for the rest my life and thank you for making this available to me and others.
