I used to love the Australian App but some months ago an update broke the saved story section. Now you can save a story link and look at it for up to a day (if you are lucky!). After that when you try to open the saved story you get an error loading content try again error. I have reported this to the powers that be and received no response. Hopeless.

I anticipated that if I download the paper at home, I should be able to then read it offline on the bus or train but stupidly, TheAustralian wants to reconnect online before allowing you to open TheAustralian . Extremely frustrating and disappointing. Why bother having the download feature at all. Please fix.

If using TheAustralian on an iPhone 8+ with ios15.1 installed, dragging a finger from the bottom of the screen to the top results in the article list going in the opposite direction

I no longer trust the Australian to deliver open and thoughtful perspectives. Its right wing agenda, and the way it stirs up bias and intolerance is a sickening indicator our times.

I start TheAustralian and then have to wait ages while the latest edition loads. And they expect me to pay $15/month but I also get saddled with intrusive advertising. And I mean really intrusive. Like go to an article and get taken to an ad page first!

You need to have a good look at how The Guardian have implemented their newspaper. And you need to get it on Newsstand on iOS 5 so at least the latest edition downloads in the background and is ready for me to read when I want it.

I signed up for a 3 month free trial but if this is what I get I'm not signing up for the real product. It's not worth it.

another disappointing app from a newspaper publisher....you gotta try harder than that if you want people to pay for the pleasure...the web page is much more visually pleasing (and free). Why would I use TheAustralian? At least it was ready for the Aussie iPad launch...better than the other Aussie media outlets!

I want to be able to find an article on a back issue paper and save it as a saved articie

I want to be Able to search by keyword or author

TheAustralian is not too bad, but it still presents a selection only of the paper (along with some stuff not in the paper). They should focus on getting 100% of the newspaper content in TheAustralian . Also, it is not possible to email a link to articles - that would be a big improvement.

I like TheAustralian, but noticed an issue with the date: It has been showing "January 1, 2001" on every article.

I find The Australian’s news coverage to include a wide range of articles across Australia and to include many key global stories. I find there is a tendency to view stories from a conservative perspective, which can skew news selection and often the presentation of stories. Editorial opinions are worth reading and should be carefully considered in light of the reader’s knowledge of events and history from other sources, including discussion with friends and colleagues. I also subscribe to other news publications and tend to rely on longer written sources! Rather then the brief news offered via broadcast media.

After you ignore all the bias pro/anti comments you get an okay app.

Considering we've only just scratched the surface when it comes to print media on the iPad, you get TheAustralian which you can nicely flick between pages, easier than the web-site. The ads are there, but easily dismissible if not interested (similar to the actual newspaper experience) - sometimes we forget ads are actually useful.

Looking forward to future updates.

At the end of the day we need good journalists in this country being paid and to keep the govt honest - so get your wallet out and pay.

Love the way articles are laid out in app, with a front page emulating a traditional broadsheet but a reading section that gives the bulk of space over to the article of interest without the clutter too often seen in newspaper apps.

Once again it is good to see the Australian adopting features from the Wall Street Journal app from its News Corp parent. TheAustralian itself an excellent app, and is a real improvement on the previous version. It is finally good to be able to share articles from all places in TheAustralian .
