It could be a good app but it’s not

These guys will find any reason to reject your submission and not pay you, probably while still using the data you sent them. Unlike other market research apps, FieldAgent only gives you the opportunity to submit one picture for each question so if the tiniest bit of a sign is cut-off because the aisles are too small to get a proper angle, well, guess what? Submission denied, time wasted.

Their job search function is also severely lacking. Rather actually searching by keyword, you have to browse through sloppily organized jobs.

Pay is okay for each job, but considering how often they deny submissions for the slightest perceived infraction and because you don’t get paid for ANY of your work if one photo has a tiny bit of signage cut-off (never mind the other photos for the other questions and the other answer work you did), it brings the pay scale down significantly to the “not worth it” category.

Also, it takes forever to get paid. Way too long.

I was really hoping this would be a good app to add to my money-making app lineup, but I’ve been severely disappointed. In my other market research apps, I’ve never had a single denied submission, but in my week of having this one, there have been two for incredibly minor things. Plus, if they just gave you the chance of uploading more than one photo like other apps, there probably wouldn’t have been a single denial (though I’m guessing these guys would find a way).

Free Alcohol but that’s about it, don’t waste your time

So I’ll start off by saying the free alcohol part plus reimbursement of 90% is cool. I got a free 6 pack of my favorite beer and some seltzer’s and got paid a few dollars on top of the 90% reimbursement (living in CA). But do NOT waste your time with their actual jobs. I’ve tried about 5 stores in total. 3 Ralph’s stores which had ZERO items (they are described TERRIBLY in field agent literally like a 4 year old wrote what to search for) and a few in BevMo. I completed two tasks in BevMo and they refuse to pay me $5 for each one, which also is not legal to do so. So unless you want to go down the road of a small claims lawsuit against this company for regular to pay its workers after completed tasks (because of UPC codes they provided that we’re incorrect…) then trust me, do NOT bother. Waste of time and waste of gas. Also illegal what they’re doing
But free beer? Why not.

Amazing app, but very few jobs for me now

FieldAgent is pretty incredible. I started using it about 2 years ago and became the biggest fan. I did jobs all the time. One month I even made a whopping $400! It was my favorite part time gig, and if I had the chance to work for field agent full time testing products and writing reviews I would. I love trying new items and giving my very honest feedback. FieldAgent truly brought me genuine joy amidst a very hard time in our world. I looked forward to opening it every day, wondering what new jobs I could do and how I could help my family with even just a tiny bit more income.

But sadly, for many, many months now, there are far fewer jobs available to me. There are some scavenger hunt jobs, some eye spy jobs, and occasional audits. But I don’t think I’ve seen any opportunities to try and review products for several months now.

I don’t mean to complain, as I know it’s such a wonderful gift and privilege to get to do these jobs at all. I’m not owed these jobs, nor entitled to them. I just miss them. They were so fun.

There are still many great ways to make some extra cash doing the scavenger, eye spy and audit jobs. But I think the review jobs were my favorite, preferred jobs, and I’m just missing them. I hope I get the opportunity to do them again some time in the future!

Work doesn’t equal the pay

First let me say FieldAgent works very well. Also with some company’s I would just rate how FieldAgent works. With this company I believe the review should be as much about how FieldAgent works and how well the crowd sourced jobs are. I have used this off and on for 5 plus years. They are good about paying out jobs and getting the money transferred to your account. Based on all of the above it probably should be a 4 star app. Now why I gave it 2 stars. The main reason for using FieldAgent is to earn money and FieldAgent has changed in 2017, just like a lot of work. Field Agent continues to increase the time and effort to complete a job while reducing the payouts for the jobs. I believe they should have a simple payout formula. The $5 covers a job with 1 picture and 5 questions. After that the job should pay $5 per picture and $5 per 5 questions. Yes it would increase the cost of the jobs. It also would be less than what it would cost to have a full time employee do the jobs and it would help keep companies from requesting unnecessary task as part of the jobs. Just wanted to share my frustrated thoughts. For the short term I will keep FieldAgent on my phone but very close to just giving it up.

Great app and system

I love FieldAgent and it’s by far the most well managed and efficient process I’ve seen for this type of assignment work. But I gave it a 3 star because like some of the reviews before me had mentioned, they DO NOT PAY ENOUGH FOR THE ASSIGNMENTS! It’s actually quite insulting the rate of money they expect us to be okay with. There are some as low as $2-$3 and the assignment could easily take 30-45 mins to complete especially including travel time and gas money to get to the store. Home Depot and Lowe’s jobs pay $3 and they want around 20 pictures and 60 questions answered sometimes. It’s sad actually because myself and many others are desperate for cash so we can’t refuse work even though it’s so obvious that companies are taking advantage of us by not being fair and sticking to equal pay for equal work. These assignments should be at least $10-$20 each one depending on what the requirements are and how many pictures taken. I agree with the reviewer that said they should pay $5 each picture/5 questions answered. These companies are saving so much money by hiring people like us for pennies instead of having a regular worker with benefits and all the good perks that come with permanent jobs. The least they can do is pay us fairly for our time. If Field Agent starts paying us equal pay for equal work, I would give them a 5 star perfect review and recommend to people all the time. Thank you for reading.

Stellar Agent

I like FieldAgent. I have been frustrated by the people at Field Agent because they won’t pay you for work that’s being done based on something trivial. Specifically, there was a job that had to be completed before 8PM. I completed the job at 7PM, however I was declined payment because the sun was starting to go down when the job was completed. All my pictures were clearly visible and I even had to do extra work to complete the job, Field Agent wouldn’t pay me because the sun was starting to go down in the background. I have missed out on two jobs now because of something trivial, not because I violated the rules or didn’t provide a clear picture. I have voiced my objections, but subjectively Field Agent unilaterally refused to allow payment for my work. No appeal process and they won’t answer my questions.
I think I’m done working for free.

Minimal appreciation for long history and good standing.

I downloaded FieldAgent roughly a year and a half ago. My current score is 115(pretty good) and I have made about $405 to date. I have had good success with FieldAgent up until a few weeks ago. I submitted 3 jobs over the weekend(the third one would have met my quota to reach the $20 bonus for customer service jobs). I was expecting to get paid for the 3 jobs and the bonus on top of it. After 6 days pending, all 3 jobs were declined and I never received an email explaining what was wrong with my job submissions. So, I reached out to customer service via email looking for answers and I have yet to hear back. This was two weeks ago! On top of that, ever since those jobs were declined, I haven’t had any access to new jobs. As someone who has had minimal jobs declined(2 others)over the last year and a half and has a good score, I’m highly disappointed in the way field agent has chosen to handled this situation.

One of the best

Field Agent has the best design of all the secret shopping apps I’ve tried.

FieldAgent is easy to use and they continue to make improvements.

Unlike other secret shopping apps I’ve tried the work is pretty consistent.

It’s also interesting work— One gig did was to measure water pressure that involved all kinds of measurements and data collection. It was high paying too— $15 or $20 I think.

High paying gigs are few but the area I live everything is close so I don’t have to drive super far.

The key to make it cost effect is too coordinate errands with audits.

Before going shopping I check FieldAgent and if there on my way I take them. Some of the places are so close by I can even ride my bike.

When I visit larger cities I check for audits but usually they’re too far to be cost effective so I don’t do them.

I also don’t do audits that ask for a lot but pay little. If no one expects them the price goes up and take them then.

When I get an audit that I feel was worth more I tell them.

I would like to see certain factors taken into account like how much walking is involved, questions, pictures, etc.

They’re receptive to feedback and when they’ve messed up they’ve paid me for incorrectly rejected audits.

It’s a side hustle — not a full time job so be strategic and adjust your expectations a little.

When I first started I scoffed at $3 gigs. I learned that $3 here, $5 there adds up quickly-I make an average of $20-$50.

Very good, but there are better alternatives

Up until recently, Field Agent was my favorite app for micro work. Ever since I discovered two other very similar apps (one for scavenger hunt type tasks, the other is for taking photo audits of local properties/businesses), the things I dislike about Field Agent are more prominent. In comparison to the other two, the pay with Field Agent is $1-2 less per task and more importantly the time to get paid per task and cash out time is painfully slow. With the other two apps, pay is typically same day or next day and cash out is almost always instant (and definitely always same day). With Field Agent, it takes about 5-6 days to get paid for each task and an additional 5-6 days from time of cash out until actually receiving the funds. Despite all that, I still always check Field Agent on a daily basis; as the tasks are easy, quick, and rarely is a task rejected. For context, I’ve been using Field Agent for approximately two years now. Lifetime earnings add up to $295 for Field Agent. The two aforementioned similar apps I’ve mentioned I’ve only been using for about two months. Year to date earnings = $310. Overall, I still enjoy Field Agent very much but wish they would catch up to the other apps in their category in terms of PayPal cash outs and also amount paid per task.

Love it, with a few drawbacks

I heard about field agent on Instagram and I was skeptical. I downloaded FieldAgent and saw that there were a lot of little jobs offering like $2/3 ... not worth my time I thought. But then I was already in store and did a buy and try and that’s when I loved FieldAgent . Yes the payout is low, however I’ve always seen it as I’m getting PAID to simply try a product AND I get the product for free. At my old city I got so many food jobs like little Caesars and Popeyes, so I had free food and got paid for it ( college girl win!). I recently moved so I have a lot less food jobs and a lot less buy and try’s/product experiences offered to me, which is disappointing. And because I live so far from everything sometimes $3 isn’t worth the drive. If the amount of jobs would increase for my location I may really love it again. Also, I keep seeing jobs they’re asking agents to do where the product is literally sold out everywhere and I hide them and then they show back up the very next day , I’ve hidden about 150 of these jobs, so that’s annoying. This is a fun little app for me to do when I’m already out or I’m bored and looking for something to do. If there were more multiple jobs for similar locations it would make it more enjoyable.

Great App - Great Jobs!

This is a reliable and reputable company. They have Always paid on time and never once have I had any issues with their app. I’ve been using Field Agent to earn extra money for about a year now. When I first started I had not received my money for two jobs I had performed, yet it showed that payment had been received. I sent an email to customer support, was contacted within the next two hours, and payment was resent within the next 24 hours. Come to find out, it WAS MY FAULT and I had entered the wrong PayPal address (which is the only way you used to could get paid - they now offer direct deposit). They were courteous and quick to respond with several emails and my money. What else can you ask for?!?! If you are “on the fence” and need extra money - go for it (as long as you don’t live in my “neck of the woods” LOL!).

Great way to make some extra money

I just started with FieldAgent a couple weeks ago and have already made more than $40! Now, some of the jobs take a bit of time, but if you only accept the jobs for stores nearby or for stores that you shop at anyway why not get paid to take a few pictures or try a product? I was reimbursed for eggs and payed to try them as well. I buy eggs anyway, so this was a great deal! I also got reimbursed for $10 worth of groceries and payed an additional amount for doing the job. I bought more than the combined total in the end, but it was all stuff I needed to buy anyway, so carrying out this job was very worthwhile. I understand it would be frustrating to spend a lot of time on a job and not get paid a sufficient amount, but if you’re looking to pick up jobs for buying products you need to buy anyway, or that are located nearby then I think this is a very worthwhile app.

I love field agent

I want to tell you how much I love finding a job on Field Agent. I guess I feel like a spy or secret shopper, which I suppose I am. I hate when I have to back out on a job like one I did last weekend in Lowe’s for the 5 gallon water bottles. I did as I was asked. This one was a none starter from the get go. The isle I needed to be down was closed off. I walked around and went back later still closed off . Went to find the full water bottles. They were right where 3 staff members were standing. Waited and went back. Still having a good talk. I did not want to blow my cover. So wrote why I was backing out on this one and went home disappointed. Apart from that I love doing this and getting free things to try out and earn myself a little pocket money too for my old age. Thanks for letting me be one of your agents. Sincerely Annie Thomas

Get rich quick? Read on

I found FieldAgent while looking at articles discussing best “side hustles” for some extra cash. Decided to try it out, I have had FieldAgent for about a week now and have consistently found jobs to complete daily. Too many to be able to complete actually. Of the jobs I have completed, only ONE was rejected because I failed (yes, I take the blame) to take photos at the correct angle for the retailer. I have worked in “big box” stores for years, from retail side of things to corporate based positions and for me, the benefit of FieldAgent to the retailer is clear. Instructions are simple, jobs are not time consuming and pay is ok.

Will you get rich quick? Absolutely not. But in my roughly one week of actively seeking jobs to complete I’m closing in on $40 to be paid out, with more jobs pending. I’m already shopping these stores, think it’s a fun way to earn a few extra bucks, so why not? Just pay attention to the instructions and you’ll be fine.

Great App

Very straightforward tasks that are easily understood and the tech support is phenomenal!! The ONLY complaint, and it’s not really a complaint as much as a ‘nice to have’ would be longer completion times. Since I look for jobs to complete during my lunch break, if I see it that morning, it is gone by the time it is close enough to my break to reserve. I realize that it is open to all but the short reserve time is almost like making it a competition to see who will win. I just want to pick up a few extra bucks and not be in a contest.
Otherwise, great app and, tech support is the best EVER!! I have never had an issue remain unresolved for more than a day, two at most ... other apps have taken weeks. They are the best asset Field Agent has!! So glad I discovered FieldAgent!!

Let’s get things straight

This is a great app to make side money on. I know the reviews are mixed. But to continuously be compatible with a “job” u have to do these free ticket questionnaires to be matched with them. I used to have not many around. Then I did those and so many jobs would pop up after. You get paid if you follow directions and do it correctly. They literally guide you every step of the way on how to do it. They even include pictures of what they want!! I’ve had no complaints I always get paid out. And it’s nice to get free food and drinks (after reimbursement). And you can cash out at any time into your personal account no need to wait to get to a certain amount.

Simple to me

I really like field agent so much that I’ll actually review it. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and it’s been a blast. I got payed to try some fast food, jerky, detergent, toothpaste, didn’t find it but still got money, and probiotics. I did one audit which got me a good amount of money and stuff for my time. I don’t know how specific I’m allowed to be, but all the jobs I took were pretty explicit in their directions such as when buying the item to do it by itself if you want sales tax reimbursement. I recently cashed out my earnings straight to my bank account which was super easy and they have you verify your bank account by sending some change which is neat. I haven’t done everything, but for me it’s easy odd jobs that are enjoyable. If the money you make from the job isn’t good enough then I’d not take it or unassign. I work near a Walmart which is where most jobs will bring you, so I stop by if there’s a job, but it’d take a lot to have me drive there just for that. Hopefully this clears up any haze at least to the legitimacy of FieldAgent .

Honestly Impressed

I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to try FieldAgent after reading some reviews. Let’s be honest, though, those reviews are people who want free money handed to them.
This is one of my favorite apps so far! In less than a week I made over $30! Not even kidding. Some jobs are low paying, like $1 for 1 picture, but that’s better than nothing. I’ve gotten paid $2+ for surveys, which I love since most survey apps pay less than $1. (Not every survey pays, but you can choose which ones you take). There’s lots of different categories to choose jobs from, buy and try is probably my favorite, because they let you buy an item and reimburse you for it, plus pay you for trying it!!! Which is absolutely awesome.
Downside, since it’s such an awesome app jobs go quick, so you have to check it a lot, but I don’t really feel like that’s an issue. Huge pro for me: the support team is amazing and quick to respond. When I’ve emailed them they get back to me in less than 24hrs. Honestly I would download it and try it, just to see. If you hate it no big loss. If you love it, I told you so :)

Review

I just completed my second FA job and I enjoy it. I was ready to do a few more today but due to the delay on the Teacher ice cream demo, FieldAgent stated it started at 11am, after asking several employees about it, two knew nothing about it, one gave me the wrong location for it, I finally asked the Teacher Cake/Gift Bag Demo (which I submitted a picture of this) worker when they set up after 12:00pm, I was informed the ice cream demo lady did not show up. I had walked around and waited and looked for the demo for over an hour. When I completed this job I was ready and accepted others that were listed in FieldAgent then informed they were no longer available. Hopefully better luck next time. I do enjoy this and looking forward to do a lot more!

Not perfect but a lifesaver

This is not a technically perfect app. It can be a little slow, it’s not super easy to figure out everything you can do from the beginning, and it may take some time to find a rhythm for efficiently moving through jobs. Once you’ve figured it out though. The extra income really can help and add up. I was shorted on a check at work recently due to some mix up, and FieldAgent allowed me to make over 150$ this month without even investing that much time. It really saved my bacon on the upcoming bills I have. I’ve tried many apps to make money and this is by far the most lucrative of them. For that reason, accomplishing the purpose of making extra money, I rate 5 stars. Thanks.
