Sync.ME - Caller ID & Contacts Reviews

I have been using SyncME for years, and I’ve raved so much about it — even posted it on my Facebook! Sometimes there were quirks, but what doesn’t. Beautifully integrated with social media accounts, and I LOVED how you could individually sync certain things about a contact and choose whether you wanted to keep the contact name you already had or change it.

All that was fine and dandy until about 2 weeks or so. All my contacts suddenly had their initials by default. Not only am I a huge texter, I have this weird thing when it comes to my phone about everything being in order and matching, so you can imagine opening the messages app and seeing a giant row of little circles of initials —- nuff said!

Anyways, apparently my friend was having the same issue and said they no longer are affiliated w/ Facebook, which made sense since I did not see the usual link on the contacts screen. I was clearly a little distraught, but I was more upset at the fact I didn’t get a warning, nor am I able to easily find out why the sudden change. It’s possible I overlooked information, and yes there is customer support, but that did me no good as I would’ve rather had a warning.
I don’t have the premium account, never had the reason to, but regardless.

I still love SyncME , but I want the normal app back 😑

Like many other people have said, SyncME used to be great. Synced perfectly with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google. The most important syncable contacts come from Facebook. With no more support for Facebook, SyncME is now useless. As developers, you have access to information and software changes before the general public does. Therefore, knowing the change to their API and security was coming, you should’ve been proactive and had the update ready to go to maintain support. Just like before a whole-number iOS update. Seems lazy and like you don’t care about keeping the many people who liked SyncME when it actually did what we wanted it to do. Let’s be real, nobody is going to use this for Caller ID and Blocking, there are leading apps like Truecaller, Hiya, and Nomorobo for that...along with carrier specific apps like AT&T Call Protect. Just give us what we liked the all originally for: working sync capability for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. ALL of them.

I love SyncME a lot.. I’ve been using SyncME for a long time and it helps me with a lot of things.. I never had problems with SyncME or anything until this year.. before whenever I opened up SyncME I could do everything and wouldn’t freeze.. But Now whenever I open up SyncME and I do something for a second the entire app freezes on me.. it’s like it freezes or has a glitch or something then after a little but then I can use it again..
ALSO Now with new update they don’t have Facebook to sign into like they had before.. and I like how you had Facebook to sign into

All the time when connecting it always will open SyncME but then when trying to use it, it always will take at least over 5 minutes or more to be able to use SyncME itself. And then when you do, it will take at least another 5 min or more to be able to enter the numbers for spam. When trying to update the numbers it takes as long if not longer to open SyncME and get your updates updated. It is fine other than that. And yes I make sure to have SyncME updated to the newest available version.

I used to love SyncME. I just came back to it. Now it won’t sync at all, and apparently it doesn’t work with Facebook anymore, which is all I really used it to sync with in the first place, so it’s pretty useless to me now.

Update: I received a message from SyncME developer. This is due to the new Facebook API, and it does not allow them to access this necessary information from Facebook anymore. They have tried everything they can to make it work, but are not able to at this to time.

I have been using SyncME for about 6 yrs, the length of time I’ve had an iPhone. I love SyncME! The ui is gorgeous and smooth and every now and then there will be a hiccup. The spam blocker works like a dream. The only issue I have is that some of my contacts’ facebook profiles will not show up for SyncME to sync. When I type in the profile name, nothing comes up but the profile clearly exists.

For a couple weeks now, SyncME is showing a notification that I can’t seem to find. But when I open SyncME to sync my contacts, it shows Instagram needing authorization when my settings clearly show it is authorized, then takes forever to load the connection & freezes on 100% load status, but does absolutely nothing afterward. Basically it absolutely has not synced any contacts because of the IG issue & it’s been unusable for several weeks now because of this. I’m considering just deleting it so it doesn’t take up space on my phone.

I’ve used SyncME for YEARS!! I hate not having updated photos for my contacts list and this was the best app I could find. I bought the “lifetime membership” as soon as I could but in the last year or so, I’ve been so horribly disappointed.

99.9% of the time it does not work, I’ve had issues with just constant spinning and never syncing and now when it DOES attempt to sync, it doesn’t even come CLOSE to finding the proper FB friends to sync the contact to.
This has been a problem for months, possibly years where it hasn’t functioned properly... its horribly disappointing because I raved about SyncME to friends for the longest time and now I’m debating deleting it because it’s worthless to me now.

This was my favorite app for years. So much so, I didn’t mind paying for the premium version because I was able to sync my Facebook contacts. That’s no longer possible. I only see the option of using google, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The issue is that not everyone on my contact list use those apps. I am a visual person, and I don’t like seeing grey circles with initials where my friends pics were. And I don’t wanna manually go and add pics to everyone because I like seeing it being updated to their new pics. Please add back Facebook, and at least add Instagram, Telegram, and WhatsApp. My contacts especially update their WhatsApp profile pics. Once I see more social networks to sync, I’ll gladly use SyncME again.

SyncME is literally useless without fb or instagram. Google and LinkedIn are NOT good alternatives for contact pictures. This whole fb API thing happened about 2 years ago... And then you guys fixed it and now it's bad again. What's up with that? I used to pay for the premium feature, but now SyncME isn't even worthy of being free. Fix this or work it out with facebook, because a ton of people will support you guys again when we can get our contact pictures back! And implement a feature that doesnt just delete contact pictures when it doesn't find one in case this happens again. PLEASE FIX 🙏🏼

This free version is almost useless, very little you can do without getting pop ups trying to get you to sign up for premium pay version! You get notifications that you have duplicate contacts but it won’t allow you to do anything about it without signing up for the paid version! You click out saying no thank you for the paid version and yet another link to the paid version comes up again still trying to get you to buy their paid versions. If there so desperate for customers that they have to annoy everyone that uses their free version there just chasing people away from using their app at all! I’m deleting it and won’t be using it ever again!

They have not been any good updates done to SyncME, as of right now every time I open SyncME SyncME crashes and it doesn’t sync with Facebook which was the original reason why I got SyncME . If the updates are not done you might as well not waste your money doing anything with SyncME. There was a review back in November 1 that’s said that the issue was major issue for SyncME the response from the company was on November 5 that they are working on it here we are half a year later and no new updates to fix any of the problems. Do not waste your money it’s not worth it as therefore I wish I can get a refund back from the company

Facebook sync for me was fixed but for some reason when I recommend SyncME to others (family members) they get a message that says Facebook unsupported. I’m not sure why they are getting this. Also I’d like to see support for business in the contact updates. I keep a number of business in my contacts and the businesses have Facebook pages but there is no option to link them to my contacts.

I’ve been using SyncME for a little over four years. SyncME has been buggy since Nov 2018. It won’t sync to my facebook or IG accounts in order for me to get my contact photos. I’ve deleted and reinstalled SyncME and still the same issue is present. I’ve updated SyncME when updates became available for my iPhone XS Max and still the same issue. This was my favorite app until November. Please fix SyncME!

As this was the only app that was broken on my phone, I decided to upgrade to the latest iOS and sure enough it’s still the only app broken on my phone. Once they removed Facebook sink, the vast majority of photos were not available, given that Instagram is owned by Facebook, I find it interesting that we are no longer allowed to do that but maybe there is some licensing issue. They want you to fork over more money for a premium sink, but they need to offer some more features first.

I've spent over an hour today dealing with SyncME and I feel I'm prob wasting more time writing this but here goes (I never write reviews!). I've had SyncME since 2015 and it was great for a while bc it synced contact photos with FB. Around a year ago, that feature quit working, then it came back, now it's gone again. It was working for me 6 hours ago, then SyncME crashed, I had to delete it and re-install, and now FB isn't even an option to connect via social networks while syncing... I'll see if this is fixed in the next update, if not I'm deleting SyncME for good bc it's worthless otherwise. Very very frustrating

I’ve used SyncME for years and with many different phones, but for some reason, lately, I’ve noticed some of my unrelated contacts are getting merged into one. It’s really random but annoying as hell! To clarify I’ll search my contacts for a person and they won’t come up, when I know they should. I’ll then do a spotlight search on my phone and discover that their email address is now stored under a completely unrelated contact. I’ve found the 5th one this morning and have no idea how many more are like this. Please fix this, or I’ll be forced to delete SyncME .

Is it me, or is SYNC Me really slow and crashing. It takes forever to sync, and when it’s done, It takes about a minute to view your updated contacts. SyncME is crashing again with LinkedIn and the API no longer supports Facebook or Instagram. I don’t understand how SyncME has 4 1/2 stars. I’ve been using SyncME for years and have never had so many problems with it within the last two years or so. There has to be something better out there. Customer service is pain to get a hold of too. I try to contact them through SyncME , and nothing.

SyncME Has been garbage for the past two months. It doesn’t sync my contacts any longer, it freezes, or it’ll sit on the sync page ...spinning and spinning and doing absolutely nothing to the point where I have to kill SyncME and restart it again and the same thing happens.
At one point SyncME was great, it filled in the photos for my contacts their names and their addresses everything from social media now I can’t get it to sync a darn thing! Stay clear from SyncME it doesn’t work like it used to it is more frustrating than anything .... even after this latest update in October 2018

I have had SyncME for a while and it use to work almost flawlessly...now it barely functions. Out of my over 400 Facebook friends to match with my contacts, SyncME can only find 6 to sync with their contact information. Not to mention it is suggesting people I am not friends with on Facebook. I paid for the yearly upgrade, thinking I was getting the quality product I was used to, but at this point in time SyncME (upgrade or not) is useless. If this issue does not get fixed soon, I’ll be deleting and asking for a refund.
