Used to be mediocre, now it’s pathetic!!!

Originally XfinityConnect was just ok; but over the past year or so has steadily gotten worse and worse, to the point where it is now unusable. The only reason I got it in the first place was to use instead of Apple Mail so that Mail wouldn’t take up so much storage space on my iPad and iPhone (you know, the “ghost storage” in Apple Mail that doesn’t go away even though you delete your emails and empty trash folder; and the only way to get rid of it is to delete the Mail app and reinstall. If you don’t it will eventually use up most of the storage on your device - ridiculous that Apple doesn’t address this!)
At any rate, I was driven to this Xfinity Connect app by that issue. For the first couple of years it was at least useable. Now it only works maybe 20-30% of the time and it has never maintained my contacts. I’m having all of the same issues others are reporting and I just can’t take it anymore! Comcast is doing NOTHING to address all the problems and their only “repeated and very tired fix” is to delete and reinstall XfinityConnect which NEVER works. Shame on you, Comcast! This has the potential of being a very good app if you would only fix all of the problems. Guess we’ll never know what that would be like! XfinityConnect is now bad enough that I’m having to go back to Apple Mail, even knowing that I’ll have to regularly delete and reinstall it in order to keep the size of it down. I’m thoroughly disgusted with Comcast!

Does not work well across devices

I use Connect all the time as my home email app for my Comcast email, both on iPhone and iPad. Being able to answer the house phone on my devices is sometimes very convenient.

Just now I took some photos with my iPhone to send via email. I prefer typing on the iPad so I wrote the email on it. The photos show up on the iPad via the iCloud in the Photos app. But when I went to attach them to the email, they were available.

I went back to the Photos app and moved the pics into a new album. In Connect, I could see the album but not the Photos! I checked the Drafts folder in Connect on my iPhone and the draft was not there! So I had to send two separate emails, one with the text and one with the photos. I even had to retype the email address! Annoying.

Lousy App

I want to like XfinityConnect. It sounds like a great product that would allow you to utilize your xfinity communication services all in one place without having to connect to Apple Mail or be near your home phone. However, it rarely works and has not worked as designed for over a year. It sends notifications about emails and phone calls received, but when I tap the notification the server is never able to retrieve the email and I am never able to answer a call from XfinityConnect . In order to use the email function I have to force close XfinityConnect EVERY time I want to use it, sometimes even during the same email checking session. It is also the same anytime I open the Connect app without having had a notification. If it has been running in the background it will not work without being force closed. As for the telephone portion, I have only been able to look at missed calls. XfinityConnect will not answer calls or dial out. The voicemail does work well as does the speech to text feature. I keep waiting for XfinityConnect to improve functionality, but am surprised at how long that it has taken. I’ve tried various quick fixes that typically work with malfunctioning apps, such as, deleting and reinstalling, but they have not helped.

Happy Camper

Comcast has been with me for over 11 yrs, they are kind of high in cost but good thing is they always have offers going on and not always you have to be a new customer to take advantage of the offers, my internet is so good I’d be embarrassed to compare it to any other specially AT&T, I love my tv program I don’t have the phone anymore because had it sitting there for yrs with no use, I used to let my neighbor friend use it to call Mexico even that is awesome cause it is so expensive to reach out for family in Mexico other phone company’s or mobile company charge so mu they don’t have enough time to say good bye, 😢 as for my tv programming I love ❤️ it I get what I like to watch and not to mention I can record so so much.. Love ❤️ my comcast..Customer service is very good in resolving issues in that 1st call, and they have a 2 hr window for a tech visit or you get a 20$ credit on your account, if you have to call again for the same issue and tech comes out again you get a 20$ credit for reoccurring issues...

Only way to receive emails on Apple Products

Very appreciative to have access to email via the Connect App. Due to “bugs” with the operating system on my Apple products (Smart Phone, Lap Top & Tablet), the Connect App is the only way I can receive and send emails via Comcast which; I should add, is the primary email address utilized for correspondence. If I send emails from my phone, I have to utilize an iCloud account. If XfinityConnect wasn’t available, I would not be able to receive or reply to messages sent to my Comcast account. I have tried multiple troubleshooting methods to fix the Apple bug to no avail. Glad I have this “work around.” The only feature I would like to see added is the following: When I send correspondence outside of XfinityConnect (i.e. sending feedback or questions within online forms), I can not access the correspondence in the “Sent” folder in XfinityConnect . The only “sent” emails that can be accessed must originate directly from the Connect App. If that can be fixed it would be perfect.

Truly amazed!!!

So far I have all Comcast apps...working great but lately giving some trouble with emails loading and opening this just started about month ago only sometimes gives me trouble not all the time but other then that Easy to to pay my bill check my account and check to see that all my devices are working I love using the xfinity Hot spots app where I work not able to get free Wi-Fi but there are plenty hots spots near me we don’t have unlimited internet on our cell phones I like to listen to music at work so it works perfectly for me every app will have it good and bad but I think they are always trying to improve and make better be patient and just let them know where improvements are needed be kind they are creating these apps to help make our lives easier might not be perfect at first but sure over time things will get better my husband and I have been long time customers of Comcast we have been though many changes with them but we are truly happy with what they have done over the years

Greatly improved

I shared the frustrations expressed by others here with XfinityConnect until, I believe, Version 6.7.1 auto-updated on both my iPhone and IPad Pro a few months ago. Previously, if I wanted to check my inbox, loaded and updated with every new email, or current with items sent to trash or spam, I would have to log out, and log back in. And often I would get a false error message telling me that I was not connected to the internet, which wouldn’t go away. This would force me to delete XfinityConnect , reinstall it, then log in and wait for it to completely update. This took way too long and I was very frustrated.
Since the update ( which coincided with a new look to XfinityConnect ’s badge ), all of these frustrations are gone and XfinityConnect , after a short delay, automatically fetches new emails into my inbox, and the emails open when selected. A miracle!
It took Comcast too long to fix XfinityConnect, but now that it has, I’m giving five stars, a high five and an ‘Atta-Boy’!

Xfinity refuses to fix

I downloaded XfinityConnect not long after it came out. It worked beautifully for a long time. Then about 7 to 9 months ago they released an update that totally screwed up email. It caused constant error messages saying no network found and email will not refresh unless you closed XfinityConnect down and restarted it. You have to do this constantly to get email to work properly. Xfinity’s only answer was to delete and download XfinityConnect again which does not fix the problem. Myself and many other paying Xfinity customers have made repeated posts on the Xfinity help forum about the problems with XfinityConnect going back to Sept. of last year and Xfinity has done nothing to fix it. I personally found a temporary fix by turning off the background refresh switch for XfinityConnect in my device settings. This fix is still working for me but it did not help many others in the help forum who are literally begging for Xfinity’s help to fix XfinityConnect. If you are thinking about downloading XfinityConnect DONT DO IT! You’ll experience nothing but total frustration. It’s really a shame because when it worked it was a great app.

Missing Emails

I have several different folders that I use every single day. The problem started the first week of July. Every email I directed to move to the proper folder never made it with XfinityConnect. They just disappeared. When I investigated on the xfinity dot com site. The lost email were in their correct folder. Just not on the xfinity connect app. So now when my emails mysteriously disappear, I have to delete XfinityConnect and reinstall. I also have the same problem another app subscriber has...my phone indicates I have a new voice message...which is never there. They told me it’s my phone. So I purchased a new phone and XfinityConnect still said I had a new voice message, however the new phone notified me my subscriber (Comcast)has a new voice message for me. I never use the phone recorder, I only use Xfinity to record voice messages. So I took the phone back for a refund. I have had to uninstall XfinityConnect and reinstall several times. Very annoying. XfinityConnect needs major updating with all these bugs. Back to the drawing board xfinity. Please fix these issues.

Needs improvement

XfinityConnect is getting worse instead of better. It is getting harder and harder to get and open email. Went to the Xfinity store and they could not fix the problem and said I would have to wait until Xfinity updates XfinityConnect . Well update XfinityConnect !!! Fix the email problems!!

The previous version of Xfinity was better. When Opening this version it does not automatically update your email. You have to physically pull down and update the email manually. It also has a connection problem that you have to refresh before any updating is done. It tells me I have a voicemail message when actually there is none.
You need to be able to create folders from the mobile app.
On the iPad, The email does not automatically refresh. You have to physically close the program and then reopen it for it to work. I called and they said remove the program and reinstall which I have done several times and still have the same problem. They really need to get XfinityConnect fixed. It has great potential but there are too many flaws!

Call blocking and screening needed

It is needed that call blocking for scam and unwanted calls be easier than a limited number of blocks that you have to go online to the website to enter the number you want to block. This is so time consuming and error prone. Getting pen and paper, writing the number call and hunting through the Xfinity site to find where the blocked number is to be entered. I suggest the Developer take a look at apps like Mr Number that shares several types of unwanted and scam call directories, notes from users about the nature of the calls and easy grab, copy a number you want to block and open the Mr Number app to allow blocking and to see info on known history of the number and call notes. A connection to a telephone data base, wider than Xfinity's and or one mobile service expands uses access to names and or location info associates with a number. Make blocking really work. These calls are not just irritating but potentially dangerous.

Xfinity has officially murdered this app with latest release

Have been using XfinityConnect for about a year over the various iterations. I use it on my iPad Air2 as well as my Galaxy Note 9. XfinityConnect is extremely glitchy, it works when it feels like it. I have to constantly close and restart it. The virtual dialer is a God-send when I’m away on business but it constantly says “call failure” and also the contacts randomly disappear. The contacts that it gets from my other accounts are not searchable. The phone numbers they provide for you receive hundreds of robo-calls everyday. The text messaging works ok but sometimes won’t show the full message and will not break it down into multiple messages if the other party exceeds 160 characters. One may also not send MMS messages thru text. The weirdest thing I’ve encountered is that when I use my Galaxy Note 9 the outgoing call will start to ring on my bluetooth headset but when the other party picks up the convo can only be had on the phone itself. I really want to love XfinityConnect but please try to improve it.

Application- that’s been ‘fixed’ to complete failure

I’m not one to write reviews but that being said this application is absolutely horrible and potential users need to be aware. If you are one of the few lucky enough to actually open the application with out it giving up before it closes then you are in for a real treat. Because once inside you will be met by a slow, lagging useless way to check your email. It’s absolutely impossible to search by name or subject because the application will close. Replying to an email on here almost feels like you’re using dialup internet. WiFi/cellular coverage has nothing to do with this poorly designed application and has zero effect on its horrendous performance. Call Comcast and roll the dice. There is a dismal 1/10 chance you will be connected with someone who speaks proper English (0/10 chance it’s someone from the USA) and can attempt to “help” with the problem. “Hello sir sorry for the problem, erase the application and start again” do that and you’re back to square one. Save yourself the time, trouble, and aggravation and never download this awful piece of ****

Used To Be Mediocre, Now Worse...

A while back, I said XfinityConnect was “Mediocre At Best”. I can’t even say that anymore. XfinityConnect hasn’t improved for email, it’s only gotten worse. Yes, I’ve tried the “tried and true” method of deleting and re-installing XfinityConnect multiple times, still doesn’t work that well. There are times, regardless of connection, that I’ll get a new email, try to open it up, see the header, and then the body of the email itself will go into an unending “loading” pattern. There are other times when I go to delete an email - I refresh the screen and the old email that I just deleted reappears again, as brand new again. I have to delete it twice. Other times, I see that I have a new email, and nothing pops up - I try to refresh the email and no new email pops up until I manually close and restart XfinityConnect . Perhaps it’s time to split the email portion away from XfinityConnect . Perhaps make it available as part of the iOS “Mail” function, instead of having us use a very buggy iOS app to view our Comcast email.

Terrible.

Congratulations xfinity! Yours is the first app I have ever disliked so much, that I have felt compelled to leave a review. XfinityConnect is almost as terrible as the services your provide, like the nonexistent internet in my home. Since upgrading my plan, I have secured new part time employment, but not to pay xfinity’s extraordinary bills. Rather, my new part time duties consist of calling xfinity support so that one of their techs can come to my home and tell me everything is in good working order. Likewise, XfinityConnect is horrible, it never works (despite my having a newer iPhone), and only takes up space on my device. I think I only keep it to punish myself for not finding a better service provider. Though, to be fair, sometimes I’m not sure if it’s XfinityConnect , or xfinity’s horrendous internet connectivity. For that reason, I will leave one star, and not look further into whether I am able to leave zero or negative stars. Now I must head to the public library, and hope they use Verizon for internet, so that I don’t fail my online course. Cheers!
