Bought Lifecards. Has a lot going for it. However, it "dead ends" on the finish - for e-mailing, and has problems with interface with Facebook. There are many posts
discussing this issue, not posted here. I was most astonished when I went to the developers web to ask some questions, vis e-mail. His site says he doesn't take e-mails. Hmmmmmmmm wonder how interface with Facebook and customer input will ever happen

I had a hard time deciding on which postcard app to purchase when I went on a trip to the Grand Canyon. I was very happy with Lifecards at the time. It was fun to use and looked great when I sent it though email and posted on facebook. Presently, months later when I printed them to scrapbook them, they are poor quality and blurry. Please update Lifecards to save the completed postcard in a better resolution!!

A couple of things to make this app a bit easier to use:

1) Indentation (spaces at the front of a line in the text area) should not be discarded. Otherwise, there's no way to indent for readability or "signature" lines.
2) Typing "in-place" would be nicer than popping up a text field. As it is now, you have to go back and forth between the two views to check if everything is fitting the way you want.
3) It would be nice to have larger template previews. Maybe only have one or two per page and flip through like the photo album app.
4) Separate text input for areas to the right and left of the "postcard" center-line. Makes it easier to write a brief message on one side and "address" it on the other.
5) Why are there no "single-picture with postcard back" options in the templates?
5) The pan/zoom button is awkward. Taps, drags, zooms and rotates are all be sufficiently different from eachother. How about defaulting to card pan/zoom. If a picture is double-tapped, gestures affect the image instead. Double-tap again to return to card pan/zoom.

Love Lifecards! Here's a few suggestions for updates:

1. Of course, more cards!! Better variety :)

2. Would love the option to move around the frames on the card to the position I want. Sometimes I have 2 landscape photos and the card on offers portrait. Would be nice to just turn it sideways myself and add my pic.

3. Maybe an option to move the text around to where I want it as well. LOVE the feature that allows you to download whatever fonts you want from the Internet (I wish more apps would follow your lead!!!) but I'm limited at what I can use Lifecards for because of where the picture placement/text placement is. Please consider!!

Of all the postcard apps available, this is the only one that allows some flexibility in composition and design. While limited in sophistication, it can be very amusing comprised of your own photographs and text assembled on-the-go. And the design elements are not cloying and sentimental, compared to the several other postcard type programs available.

Lifecards is great! It has totally replaced paper/pen thank you notes for me! The only thing keeping mr from a five star rating is this: I want to be able to replace any text box with the handwriting box you see in one example. I'd totally rate it five stars for that.

BUY Lifecards!

I travel alot so I very much like the concept of Lifecards. It allows you to send photo's in a postcard format to friends and family (or torture your co-workers LOL) while your on your journey. Optional postcard backgrounds, alternate font styles and colors allow for some great personalization. Better still you can save the finished product for later use if you want to wait for a WiFi hot spot instead of using your paid data connection which can be pricy while travelling.

this app does exactly what it says it does without a hitch. I did not find it buggy or complicated in any way. Looking forward to future updates. The only thing I would really like to see in a future update is the ability to email from within Lifecards . That would definitely make this a 5 star!!

Lifecards is GREAT! VERY EASY to use! I had my christmas cards done in about 10 minutes. They email in great quality/definition. I would have giving it 5 stars but if you try to print the card the pictures are fuzzy. It would also be nice if there were a few more options of borders or the ability to change the color. Overall a great app!

I really love Lifecards because it resembles the digital photo books that are so common now. I had no problems using the various functions and appreciate the simplicity. I am experiencing problems posting to facebook on OS 3.0 but see they are working on that. That's why it got 4 stars instead of 5. No problem on twitpic and showed exactly the way I made it. Thanks for a great app - please fix with facebook!

This is, by far, the best app I have downloaded to provide some form of non-work-related utility. I really appreciate how well thought out this program is. I can do so much, including create my own design, which is much more than I can say about the many other postcard type apps out there. Lifecards will eliminate the need for me to buy greeting cards in the future. It is well worth the price tag and pays for itself with the first use - since I only buy Hallmark™. Two thumbs up!! 

The recent update helped Lifecards in 3G. Lifecards works like a publisher program I've been wanting. It has great features and The latest update has helped it work smoothly again.

Here are a few thoughts that might enhance this even more. Since your cards look so nice when emailed maybe you could add some calendar templetes but if you do let us tap on a date to enter text and and add small cliparts for birthdays,
holidays, and anniversaries maybe even a small photo on special dates. This would be nice for sending personal calendar reminder card to family and friends. Would it be possible to send a small music file that plays as the card opens.

Lifecards allows you to create and send a card in about a minute to let someone know that you are thinking about them. Important if you are a busy mom with lots of close friends! Very very user friendly! You already know how to use it if you are familiar with anything "Apple". I'm actually surprised this wasn't created by Apple. You won't be disappointed!

I love Lifecards for quick posts and interesting photo messages.

Please update and keep supporting. I’ve been using it since the first 16 gig iPhone. iPad didn’t exist yet!

What I’d like to see:
Some new and modern borders
The ability to add/use custom borders

That’s it, the only changes I’d like to see.

I use this application so much and absolutely love it! It has so many possibilities = ). Fun to use pictures doctored with other applications such as ImageTouch, Vingo, & others.
The authors of Lifecards responded in less than 1 day when I emailed with a few requests. Very nice too! If you are trying to decide to buy, I feel it is well worth $3! ~JagKarizma

Makes great postcard type pictures. Everyone who I have shown Lifecards to has bought it. Easy to use and great results. If you take any pictures you need Lifecards. People have thought I scanned a postcard from the zoo and posted it on Facebook with Lifecards, it is that good.

Only wish they would put out more frames (pet type frames specifically) or sell a frame pack.

And the dude who rated it 3 stars because it is English only, does it say otherwise? NO. So why lower it's rating because you can't read?

Honestly they need a free version with very limited frames so people can try it out to see how great it is.

Lifecards offers a nice selection of templates allowing you to share between one and four(?) photos at a time. A variety of template layouts, similar in concept to mac Pages, offer more or less photos and text boxes. Reasonable font, font size, font color and text alignment controls. Easy and fun to use... I just can't stop playing with it!

In addition to making nice postcards and card style communications to send to friends and family while traveling, some layouts would be well suited as a recipe card. Off to try that out...

I have used Lifecards to create communications for extended family, send creative updates to clients, and market to prospects. It's easy to use and well integrated with the iPhone. Only suggestions are to add more professional templates, allow different fonts in the same text box, and allow tbe creation of custom templates.

Highly Recommended!

This a really cool way to send a few quick snapshots and emails back home, when you're traveling and don't want to take time out to write a long email, upload high-res images, etc. It's easy and intuitive to use, with enough variety to keep things interesting, but not so much that it's overwhelming.

If you're on vacation and don't have anything else to do sitting in the shade around the pool, this is Lifecards for you. It has a lot of templates for making your own post cards/greeting cards and a good assortment of fonts that can be colored to coordinate with the photos.

The instructions are very clear but leave out one important step -- how do you mail your beautiful cards? Actually, Lifecards saves your card to your camera roll. When you view the card from the camera roll, choose the e-mail option, and you're in business. But it would be nice of them to tell you this straight out, or, better yet, have a send option from within Lifecards .

At any rate, I've had a lot of fun already. Lifecards is well worth the price.

I NEVER have written a review before, but Lifecards is incredible. It is also very addicting so make sure you have some time to explore it after you download it. I had a couple of questions and received an email back from Jens within hours. Thank you, Jens! Lifecards is also great for creating wallpaper for your iPhone. I created great wallpaper by using one of the templates with four pictures. In case I ever lose my iPhone, in the text field, I wrote "If found, call (phone number)." Prior to seeing this app, I was contemplating getting other apps like Wallpaper Labeler or If Found+ to do the same thing. However, once I discovered this app, I realized I could do the same thing and tons more. I travel a lot so I am looking foward to making postcards for family and friends during my travels. THANK YOU TO THE CREATORS OF this app!!!!
