The fridge is fantastic so far, but unfortunately RoccoFridge is basically useless. It’s unbelievably slow to update, usually inaccurate, and often asks you to rotate the bottle. Just feels like a silly feature that isn’t really necessary, but if you’re going to offer it, you’d think there’d be some more effort into making it work.
App not finding fridge after multiple attempts
The whole reason for paying the amount I did was for RoccoFridge to work properly. This has not happened, unfortunately.
App just spins continuously (for over an hour) upon initial set up saying “updating your Rocco”. I’ve deleted/redownloaded RoccoFridge several times and powered down my fridge and wifi reset it. RoccoFridge just spins and spins.
I received a message to check back in a few weeks for a working version of RoccoFridge .
This makes me concerned about the quality of the appliance as well as RoccoFridge itself.
RoccoFridge appears to be connected to the fridge but it’s not allowing me to make any changes remotely. I can’t update the temps or turn on the internal lights. Not worth the money i should have just stuck with the Samsung one i was looking at
I don’t even care that much about the vision, which is so wildly inaccurate that it’s useless. Just make RoccoFridge actually control the temperature and lights with some small degree of reliability. As it stands, almost nothing about RoccoFridge actually functions.
Not sure what RoccoFridge does other than tell me the temperature and turn on and off the light. The initial scan of my items has been going on for more than 2 weeks with nothing to show for it. Pretty disappointing.
Yes. It plugs in and gets cold. But. It’s supposed to do more stuff right? RoccoFridge crashes literally every time i open it. For months i get the message ‘we’re working on xxx’. Is anything going to happen here? Don’t buy this until it delivers what they say it can but doesn’t ‘yet’.
App never worked - I downloaded it, connected the fridge, and it never worked.
The whole reason i purchased and paid $1.5k is because i thought the tech was awesome.
I love trying new things like this, but to not have any functionality. Literally just a scam screen that says. Well sorry its actually not a thing, maybe it will be, but its not right now.
How is this legal? How is this a super smart fridge? Absolutely fuming. Never felt so scammed in my life…
I’m on about hour 6 of attempting to connect RoccoFridge to the fridge and update the Rocco. Unfortunately there’s no indication if it’s working properly but unless this thing has a multi terabyte update it should have been completed a few times over. I’ve tried a few times each for numerous hours. The fridge really doesn’t have any additional functionality without RoccoFridge so I’m hoping they can improve it in the future. The fridge is absolutely not worth the cost at this stage but I’d probably buy it again just because I like the aesthetic. Also side note my manual controls for the temp stopped working after purchasing and it’s stuck at the lowest temp which freezes most of my drinks on the upper shelves so the fridge capacity is only half useable for me. I’m hoping they update RoccoFridge so I might be able to connect and control the temperature that way.
Two stars because yes, you can adjust the temp of the fridge from RoccoFridge (not exactly sure why that’s useful though). The “see inside your fridge” feature still says it’s updating for going on five weeks now.
The fridge itself is nice, and its physical buttons work great. Connecting to the fridge was pretty seamless, which is nice.
But they clearly skimped on development in general. I think I got it to turn the light on/off once (with a 5 second delay) - now it just doesn't respond at all.
Same applies to adjusting the temperature. It does *display* the current temps with only a slight lag, which is great because the physical fridge display doesn't do that.
I have no idea when/whether the supposed cameras will ever show anything. The placeholder screen in RoccoFridge implies that it will work as soon as they train the image recognition, but in that case why not at least show the feed from the cameras...?
I want RoccoFridge to be as awesome as the fridge, but right now there's a single reason to download it - to see the live temperatures - and I wouldn't be surprised if that stops working tomorrow too.
I’m a big proponent of not buying things on the promise of FUTURE features. When I bought this fridge I was under the impression that I’d be able to see my drinks in my fridge. That’s not possible yet and no word on when it’s coming.
RoccoFridge is cool but really only allows you to turn the lights on and off. There are three modes - “smart”, “quiet”, and “party”, but no explanation as to what these actually do. Also, the temperature of my fridge is consistently 3-5 degrees higher than what I set it to. On top of that, the fridge is way louder than they lead you to believe (even on “quiet” mode).
Don’t get me wrong, cool fridge, but for $1300 I’d expect a better app, actually useable features, and good performance. Feeling let down by all of these at that price point.
I was able to pair to my fridge without much hassle and connect to WiFi but the info I see is out of sync with what the control panel displays and there’s no way to know if the settings for “quiet” vs “smart” are being followed. I hear the compressor running constantly on quiet mode and RoccoFridge says the fridge is set a degree warmer than I have it set to, says the lights are on when the lights are off, etc. and pressing buttons on RoccoFridge doesn’t make anything happen in the fridge.
I was excited to be able to see inside the fridge, expecting to get a camera feed but that functionality doesn’t appear to be implemented yet. I hope when RoccoFridge is finished they allow a raw feed to be accessed as well as the image recognition it sounds like they’re going for when mentioning learning.
RoccoFridge could be great if the responsiveness would increase (if commands can’t be completed show me an error don’t just say the lights are on if they never came on) and when the camera is implemented. I’ll update my review when that happens.
The basic app functionality of being able to turn on/off the lights, adjust light brightness, and set/monitor temperatures has gotten much better. Responsiveness is near instant now vs a several second delay or simply not working at all as I experienced early on.
I’ve had the fridge for a couple of months and the sight system is now activated. The first “scan” produced mostly accurate results, minus a misidentification of a wine - no biggie. However the inventory has not updated since the first scan (over two weeks now) regardless of how many times I fully open/close the door or drawers. I’d expect this to improve over time and will update my review accordingly.
Didn’t purchase the fridge for the service that itemizes everything inside but it’s actually pretty cool. Updates quickly. No issues with responsiveness when adjusting temps. I have no complaints
The instructions they provide with the fridge make the set up fairly easy. It has a very simple UI at the moment and would like to see a redesign of the user interface in the future or maybe a way to customize the color of RoccoFridge to your fridge color.
Love the minimal UI and simple controls for things like temp zones, cooling mode, lights, etc. Now that I’m out of the beta version it’s been super handy being able to check and see what’s in the fridge.
