Terrible customer service

Update: I finally was able to reach someone with customer service. They said they had issued a refund, but they only refunded half the charge. I've written them, and no surprise, they haven't returned a single message.

I purchased two Sim cards for a 15 day trip to Europe. Even though my phone was compatible with their system according to their site, the eSIM would not install. Ive spent a week trying to get a hold of someone for customer service with no responses. Now I'm in Europe without phone service. I asked for a refund and they're saying it could take a month. Avoid at all costs!

I ordered an esim from this service and they never fulfilled my order, which is ridiculous considering this is literally online?? When I contacted support through their virtual assistant, I never received any response or help with my issue, and after 3 hours of waiting my chat was resolved by them despite never getting in contact with me. I also contacted their available email and also got zero response. Essentially, I’ve been scammed 100€!! If you want to avoid getting scammed as well I would avoid this brand at all costs.

I’ve had several problems over the past week in Paris and Normandy:
1. Customer service is only through What’s App. Nobody has ever responded to me.
2. Service is very slow and cuts out often. Once I lose service, it does not automatically reconnect. I have to restart my iPhone several times a day to get service to work.
3. Holafly is useless you can’t buy an esim or get customer service so I don’t know why you need it.
My wife got an Airalo esim for this same trip and their service has been faster and far more consistent.

I was in Mexico city and purchased an this app eSim and had no data in most of the city parts. The parts where I did have internet connection, it worked poorly and slow. One day I found myself needing an uber and having to ask a stranger to share data so I could request one. After that, I had to purchase an eSim from another provider, which didn’t provide “unlimited data” but was cheaper and it actually did what it was supposed to do, which is letting me use mobile data. I do not recommend Holafly.

Holafly immediately proved itself to be garbage. I couldn’t even get past the verification screen because it never sent me the verification email. And no, it did not go to the spam folder. I also couldn’t login using my Apple ID. Complete waste of time and absolute garbage. Honestly, you save me time. Because if people can’t even sign up, I imagine the customer service and the product itself is equally garbage. Maybe higher better developers.

Don't even waste your time I purchased the eSIM one day before I travel and was happy because with my phone service its $60 for my trip and with this service it's $37 and when I got on my trip I had no WiFi or any type of connection the whole time it said no connection at no point in the trip I had connection I even try reconnecting and a lot of other methods trying to make it work but nothing and then when I wanted a refund they're offering a partial refund for usage, when was I able to use it when it never connected please don't you self a favor and try somewhere else

The signal was extremely low and slow compared to my Google fi networks. The only advantage that it had is that it was unlimited. But you can’t really get much data out of an “unlimited” plan with a slow and weak signal in most of Paris.

I reached out to this app for assistance and no one got back to me. The worst purchase of 2023 for me. The worst is being abroad and without a phone and to not get any assistance as promised by company. Do not purchase this it’s a waste of your money.

Traveled to Mexico to many places including San Miguel De Allende, Guanajuato. It never worked as advertised. I had better service and reception just using my carrier (Verizon). When I turned off the this app Esim I had a more smooth and faster service. It may work elsewhere or better for other people, but it didn’t work for me. My advise, spend those $20 dollars on upgrading your service while traveling or get a local SIM card when arriving at your destination.

I don’t know what the issue is but Holafly is incredibly buggy. I have to refresh Holafly multiple times to even see what sims I have. It’ll show everything properly for half a second before completely breaking down and telling me I have to buy sims. Many times if I select anything, it will forcibly back me out of it and refresh itself dozens of times. If it tries to refresh at all during checkout, I cannot purchase a sim and it will continue loading ad infinitum. Refreshing Holafly doesn’t seem to fix anything, and neither does restarting my phone. Holafly is barely even usable, and I do not understand why.

Talked to numerous “representatives” saying they put my request through. Gabriela said that she put my request in a week ago and said I should get an email in 2 days. It’s been 15 days and no refund!!!!! How hilarious listen to this next part. So I followed up , and they said it’s now past the deadline 😂😂😂😂😂this company is a literal joke. Just going to have to report it as scam and take it up with my credit card I guess ! Absolutely ridiculous. Do not recommend. Will also be contacting JET blue and telling them exactly what happened since they are “advertising it “ as a good application. Hilarious. Absolutely absurd.

I used Apple Pay and was never sent an email. I contacted them on 2 occasions, but didn’t hear a response for 2 days, and then when I was finally contacted, they wanted me to respond right away like I was inconveniencing them, and then they closed my support ticket after 3 minutes of me not sending a message, so now I have to go through the entire process all over again. I am on vacation and paid for 14 days. Since I was never sent the email, I haven’t had any data the entire time, so there was no way I could respond to them in a timely manner. I’m not going to stop my entire vacation for a data sim. Needless to say the customer support is extremely lacking and I am not impressed. If you are looking for an eSIM, look elsewhere because if you have any problems, they won’t be fixed.

I’m sure if your phone is unlocked from your service provider, this will be an excellent option. BUT…if your phone is not unlocked from your service provider, you will not be able to use this service! I was not aware of this and I am already overseas. This made it extremely difficult to contact my provider to see what I can do to unlock my phone. In my case, I have to pay off my phone completely in order to unlock my device from the carrier. I am currently waiting on Holifly customer support to get back to me to get a refund as I am unable to use their service. The only way to contact customer support is through WhatsApp or Email. It is taking a long time for them to respond. I hope this issue can be resolved shortly.

I’m shocked by the reviews that say their support east great. Twice when my cellular service has stopped working they left me unanswered in the chat.

Absolutely crazy to leave someone stranded without the basic service that the eSim is suppose to provide.

I’m only giving them 2 stars because when the eSim works it’s great but that means nothing when they show you how little they care in support chat.

this app was descent at first but when I needed to extend my plan and it wasn’t working the best, I had some questions. Trying to talk to someone or even find the answer to my questions on the internet/their website it was no help. There is very very little information about anything and trying to talk to someone takes so long and it still feels like I’m talking to a robot, which is frustrating and not helpful. Having the plan does the job for the most part but if you need answers to extending or how much you’ve used, it makes it hard to want to continuing using their app.

An online travel blog recommended this app so I pursed an esim service for an upcoming trip to Scotland. Went to the website to investigate and their digital sales process was quick and did not screen critical issues such as whether your phone was compatible for accepting an esim or even asking to which country the service was needed.
I have never used esim and didn’t know those two issues mattered - but purchased their European plan. Scotland is in Europe, right? It’s not in their European plan. Shouldn’t they screen for that? Or explain that?
With that realized, I admitted the oversight in less than 24 hours and asked for a refund. Their policy is 10 days to review, approve, and process a refund. Ok. I waited more than 10 days, then filed a dispute with my credit card and did get a refund in well over 10 days.
They may provide goid service if you get the right plan. Good luck.

Hong Kong Internet in NYC??? Not for content creators.

Here’s the issue for me that has me furious: The eSIM works, but what I realized way too late is that for some reason, it’s routed in a way that makes my location appear to be HONG KONG… when I’m in NEW YORK CITY supposedly using US DATA. IT MESSED UP MY SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT which could take weeks to fix. Not to mention it was annoying to constantly be shown prices in Hong Kong Dollar on every google search and travel app. ABSOLUTE FAIL.

I thought I would save some money by using an e-sim instead of using my carrier’s foreign country plan (Verizon) while touring Germany. When I got to Germany, however, I discovered that the this app e-sim did not allow texts to be sent or received. It connected to the carrier just fine, and I had data, but no texting. I was able to chat with this app support, but that did not resolve anything. Since I rely in texting to communicate with family and friends, this was a problem. In the end, I had to activate Verizon’s foreign country plan anyway, and now I will end up spending WAY MORE than if I had just used Verizon to start with. This was my first, and will probably the last, use of an e-sim for travelling. If this app reads this and wants to refund me, I would not object.

I had initially downloaded Hollafly after moving from Airlo because of their offer of unlimited data for an India sim. After downloading it, it was good for the first two days or so, after that it has been such a horrible experience. My sim had kept disconnecting and I couldn't even send a text. I need to communicate with my peers but Holafly has not been letting me. On top of that, I have been waiting for 30 minutes or so for customer support, and still not one person can help me. Initially, Holafly was a 5 stars for me but it has been so lackluster that it's frustrating.

I’m buying sims for pals overseas to keep them connected. You can’t top up the plans inside Holafly and if you go to the website and top-up, you can’t see the top-up in Holafly — the sim just disappears into the expired section.

App features are limited. Can’t even see the full activation codes at one time.

I’d use another provider if I had an option.

I bought an eSIM for my upcoming trip and it’s stuck as activating. Can’t ask customer service for help because it’s all bots on WhatsApp and once you explain your problem no one is actually available to help. Service not worth the risk.

Editing after the fact: someone did finally reach out after some time and I was able to get it figured out. Luckily this was before my flight so no issues had although it would have been nicer to have it dealt with earlier

I used multiple this app eSIMs in Germany and Spain. Service (Orange France) is good, no complaints. However, on multiple occasions the eSIM would stop working on the day it was supposed to, but several hours (~6 hours) beforehand. I got tired of this happening multiple times and buying new eSIM every time and called the customer support. The customer support wait times (~1 hour) can be long. The customer support specialist I spoke to (Lina Maria from Colombia) killed 3 hours of my time (not kidding) without resolving the issue. She would try to test the network, speed, phone settings, iOS settings, etc. over and over again without addressing the issue: the eSIM no longer worked. Added bonus: she was occasionally rude.

I had the 90 day Europe plan and it worked really well as I traveled to different countries a part of the plan and always had service. I needed to extend my plan after it expired and the customer service chat was incredibly helpful! They got back to me quickly and helped me through the entire process. This is my first time using an eSIM card for phone service in Europe. I am not very tech savvy, and was very confused on how it works. Luckily this app MADE IT SIMPLE! My initial review was good but since then things have gone to pooor): Doing as Asia trip and bought unlimited Japan eSIM plus Asia region unlimited eSIM and just did a top off. Everytime I had any questions I reached out for help via Holafly and was immediately take care of (even their AI help assistant asks the right questions, no issues). Response are timely, complete with I formation and they want to co firm you were successful. Service in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand has been 98% 5G and LTE right now as I am in the middle of Thailand - I am pleased). Final feedback: I have needed help two more times and have waited in excess of 30 minutes to get someone. This can’t be a fluke, their agents must be swamped trying
To help others. I can not in good conscious use this app again.

Traveled to Italy from the US. I was very confused and anxious regarding how I was going to efficiently have data and not have to spend a fortune. My carrier is Verizon and I didn’t want to spend 10 dollars a day… so I got this app. Works like a charm. Easy to download and install. I got the 20 day plan for around 60 dollars. Well worth it in my opinion as traveling with data is a must. I HIGHLY recommend!

But the steps were easy to follow and most importantly the cell service was great everywhere. Used it in London and Paris and had zero issues. Had 5G reception 98% of the time.

I have been using this app for more than two years for business travel and for private international travel. It is a great augmentation to my main carrier which throttles data after a set amount is reached. On my recent business trip to India the coverage for the data eSIM I bought was excellent. I made a silly mistake when installing my eSIM. Got help via WhatsApp chat. It was great! The wait was only about 15 min, which honestly is not bad. And the rep (Tania) was clear, knowledgeable, patient and kind.
Even if this eSIM is a little more expensive (I don’t really know if it is), I’d continue using it for its simplicity and customer service. Kudos!

Among all the eSIM services, this is probably the best one. The difference is that for Europe region, they gives you an Austrian number and you can make/receive calls. This could be super useful.
