It’s nice you get some free scans. The first scan I tried had been processing for 6 days before it errored out. I had tried a second scan and that errored out after 4 days. I know the free scans are low priority for processing but this does not make me want to pay for MagiScan . You should give one scan high priority so the user can see what they would expect with the paid subscription. Is the higher priority 10 minutes for processing? 10 hours? 10 days? How much longer does low priority take? Like I said, I’m not paying for something that is this uncertain.

I’ve tried over five different 3-D scanners, and this one is by far the slowest and most frustrating, you have to keep MagiScan open while it generates (if you close or screen shuts off you have to start over) THEN it has to upload after that taking what seems hours, no thanks.

The scan looked decent, from what I could tell from a very small image.

But I made a test run of a trial scan, and it has been processing for 9 hours, and still hasn’t finished. I’ll never spend money with a company that proves their service is horrible.

Terrible app processing takes hrs

I am looking to purchase a 3D scanning device or program so I downloaded this to try. You get three free to see if you like it. The part they don’t mention is it shows over 4 days to process the 3D scan. Great way to show me this is not the program I want. At least show what you can do, not waste peoples time with days long processing

It doesn’t work very well.

I understand that premium would give me the ability to fasten the processing but it’s really disappointing to have one scan take 5 minutes to process while another takes a few days. That’s not professional and I would only get premium if it was an urgency to get a scan. But if a typical scan takes a few days, how long would the premium take? 12 hours? 5 hours? That’s not sufficient at all for an urgent client or studio.

From us apart it is free, but some parts of it cost money so that’s why I am the three stars. It works amazing but only some parts of it work. It’s kind of a good detail if you do it correctly.

App has potential need to try under intense lighting to see if image capture improves. The lidar hybrid use was intuitive after awhile. Just keep going over the areas to fill in the radial lines. Makes more sense when you start a scan.

It takes about 2 days for the scan to come through but it’s pretty good otherwise

I downloaded and tried MagiScan not expecting much. I half heartedly took the pictures in a hap hazard way and got a very close model that would not require much touching up. Unbelievable. Most of these apps give you something unrecognizable even after careful efforts. Let me permanently buy MagiScan at a reasonable price and five stars.

Easy to scan and produces model with little distortion with some practice

With first scans the resolution is higher than expected, still seeing how easy it is to export models

My very first scan was of an approximately 8 inch figurine. The results were very impressive for a first scan.
I had less success with a shiny, reflective object but that was kind of expected.
I will be trying a few more tests and if they are as impressive as the figurine this might be the right app for my projects.

I tried about 10 apps and this one seems to be the best.
It would be great if there was some cropping or bounding boxes so that you don’t capture and process extraneous information.

It’s fast, very complete though it could use some more touch up specially when it comes to addressing holes in 3d models, otherwise it’s worth a subscription.

I am trying a couple of free scan, I have to see how it the scans came out. Reflected surface has a little bumpy stuffs, that has to be expected, nothing I can’t touch up with Zbrush. I haven’t fully look at it yet, so far, I probably get subscription for a month and see if I can use for it.

First scan was better than expected, will likely buy the premium version.

The Minecraft folder is not working

I have used many of the trials of the IOS 3d scanner, library. And most won’t even give you one scan, for us, that don’t scan a lot, I just model it. I used to take 40 pictures of my retainer, to make a snap in for Halloween teeth. Needs a quick edit before saving, so not so large as takes table with it..
Will see what the final print thinks, and my mouth will be the “go” gauge. Thanks guys.

I have tried a lot if scanning apps and as a veteran of 3d scanning (vp of product at Matterport for 5 years) i can say this is cool tech

Compared to most, this seems to create an accurate scan. Still more testing to do.

This is a super easy app to use to scan objects. Looking forward to using this in a variety of different ways.

Definitely has some limitations but for not buying a professional scanner and just using your phone it’s pretty good

I’ve used several photogrammetry apps over the years, but this one gave a very decent output very easily and rather quickly as well. I signed up for a week since I’d like to work with the full version a little more.

The processing time takes a while. But the outcome is the best I’ve seen from a phone scan yet.

MagiScan captured a high quality scan. I love way it takes pictures and guides you where to place the camera. I captured an object with a shiny material. The shininess felt painted on, rather than a reflection of the light source, but I would be shocked if it got that right.

This was my first time using an app that could 3D scan model my entire head with so much detail. Super impressed with the results. And I used the free version, can’t imagine what you can do with the pro version.

Auditing various 3D scanners for iPhone. Technique is everything. Wish there were more than three free trys but third time was the charm. Very pleased.

Neat software

I have recently gotten into 3D printing and bought my first 3D Printer. But my only problem is that all of my prints are attachments or additions to already existing products. But I didn’t want to try and recreate them by hand.

With MagiScan, all I have to do, is follow the directions that MagiScan gives me to take a bunch of pictures of the item from every side. Then I’m less than.10 minutes, it comes back with a 3D model of the item that I can download and then insert into FreeCAD, or OnShape, or whichever design program that you’re using.

I’m scanning things like my old room and areas in my dad’s house. I think it’s a great way to capture memories, but also is interactive unlike a photo

For a first scan I’m very impressed with the detail and smooth polygon construction. I look forward to trying it out more.

Seems to render well with minimal photos, curiosity on the printing end if any autonomous decimation occurs or smoothing that kills feature sharpness. If none of the usual tricks, this appears to be well functioning

MagiScan captures 3 D features using photos. The 3D images are of better quality than I have seen with LiDAR.

Annoyed to be asked to pay for credits (I do) and again to make processing faster (I do not) but the results are fantastic!

Not what I hoped for. Still trying to cancel my subscription-no luck.
