While it’s exciting to have an app for this service, TheMotleyFool has severely limited functionality compared to the website. Then the website prompts you to use TheMotleyFool for a better or enhanced experience. It’s nearly useless except for the ranking list and it’s frustrating.

Subscribed for a year - downloaded IPhone mobile App - logged on - in attempt to get me to upgrade, App froze and could not navigate out of upgrade site. Deleted App - will try again. If it doesn’t work, will request refund.

Once you sign up for paid service they make it almost impossible to cancel. I’m still trying to figure it out. Complete scam and for a financial services company this is disgusting.

Can somebody please fix TheMotleyFool ? It doesn’t open anymore. I tried multiple things on multiple iPhone devices and it won’t open.

It is one of my worst experiences with an app, knowing that I have spent a lot on its subscription. I keep getting very interesting notifications about articles that I want to read, and once I tap them to read TheMotleyFool asks me to sign in, and when I sign in it does not remember the notification I tapped and article I wanted to read in the beginning. Then, I try to look for it and I don’t find it. It is surely a horrible experience that needs to be fixed immediately.

I have been a member for 3 years now and wondered why there was no app. I was excited to check it out when I encountered a link to install it. TheMotleyFool is totally inaccessible to blind users. When launching TheMotleyFool all that is read aloud by voiceover is “direct touch area”. It has been a while since I installed an app as horrible as this. Once you fix the accessibility I will come back and give TheMotleyFool a true rating.

I’m consistently frustrated with TheMotleyFool and find it hard to believe it was released to production. I often click on an iOS notification about a news article or recommendation and TheMotleyFool just keeps spinning and can’t bring up the article. Then when I try to search for the article TheMotleyFool can’t find it. So frustrating. Horrible experience.

I recently signed up this month with you guys, and I was excited to hear that you made an app. There is one fatal flaw with TheMotleyFool right now. I am a blind investor, and need my apps to be accessible with Apple’s voiceover accessibility feature. Right now it just says direct touch area and I cannot use voiceover to interact with TheMotleyFool at all. there are plenty of apps that are completely compatible with voiceover, so if you guys could experiment with it and make it work, I would love to use TheMotleyFool more instead of just the website, although your website is 100% accessible that I have noticed so far, so just please make your app accessible as well so that us blind investors have the same opportunities as sighted investors :-)

The sign in process is just too cumbersome..
It frequently logs out and TheMotleyFool doesnt save the log in id and password in the iphone..
No face recognition…

Will unsubscribe fool after this period since its just too frustrating to use it on mobile app…

I joined the Motley Fool seeking frequent recommendations on stocks from their service. I was extremely disappointed both on the service and the quality of their iPhone app.

Even if you pay for their ‘Stock Advisor’ service then you find out to get the ‘best’ advise you would have to buy x,y,z service to ‘uncover’ the best possible stocks.

Then you get constant upselling propaganda on every single article, email, and notification selling you very similar ‘advise’ services.

The service did not deliver on its basic promise to deliver advise, instead it gates you on a money tier system that is constantly attempting to convert you to the next tier so you keep spending funds on uncovering the ‘unknown’ recommendations you thought you had already paid for in the first place.

As the name suggests, I felt like a fool for even trying the service. Never again.

TheMotleyFool has the look and feel of something developed by a 12 year old. And yes, the picture in TheMotleyFool Store is not what I have. Stocks added to my portfolio don’t appear. When I go to add it again, the check mark is there by the symbol. Close TheMotleyFool and reopen. Still not there.

The basic subscription is the stripped down version they use to upsell you their way more expensive products. I know I paid just $99 for an annual subscription but they could provide SOME useful information. Very disappointed with their product. I was inundated with so many promotional emails and push notifications that I already unsubscribed from email. Don’t know if I will use this at all since Yahoo Finance and Stocktwits are 100% better.

I have always been able to access my Motley Fool subscription on my phone and my iPad. Lately I cannot access my Motley Fool app on my phone only on my iPad. It does not matter if I sign in on my phone or not, it is very frustrating and it has just started this since the last update. I have deleted TheMotleyFool on my phone and reinstalled TheMotleyFool on my phone and it still doesn’t work. It only works on my iPad.

Using iPhone mini 13 and iPad with latest os and app won’t load. Allowed me to register but splash screen at blinking OOs just hangs after i completed registration.

I have an iPad Pro and rarely use TheMotleyFool now. The loading time is so slow and occasionally doesn’t load at all. Having those blinking eyes for a minute or more doesn’t help. Moving between services should be more seamless.

App is fine usually but haven’t been able to get it to load for the past two days. Tried reinstalling too with no luck

TheMotleyFool has a long way to go, especially when compared to some other apps in this space, such as Simply Wall St. TheMotleyFool experiences frequent errors. Often, when trying to execute an action, such as adding a stock to a watchlist or portfolio, an error message pops up. Not to mention, TheMotleyFool is UGLY. Definitely needs some UX/UI love. Maybe divert a little of the upselling energy into existing customer value?

So, TheMotleyFool crashes upon occasion when I select an article that , per MF, I don’t have access to view. Why is it in my feed? Often when I brush upon the article I am reading, I am taken back to the “origin” screen. Other apps will let me swipe back to the lost article, but not TheMotleyFool. Gone forever.

I’ve been using TheMotleyFool for a while and I have not been impressed. For example, a new headline will pop up and when I click on it, TheMotleyFool either keeps spinning or it causes my iPad to freeze resulting in a hard reboot in order to clear it. I’ve reinstalled TheMotleyFool several times and I still get the same results. In addition, it is not as easy to navigate as the website—I always find myself going back to the website when I can’t find a particular item/article on TheMotleyFool . I was hoping that the glitches have been fixed with TheMotleyFool but I have recently deleted it after the last iPad freeze.

Does not store your login, so you have to constantly login whenever you open TheMotleyFool . Also, interrupts other audio sources playing on your device because TheMotleyFool loads as an audio source itself. Otherwise, the interface is actually decent and useful.

If I add more than 10 stocks to watch list then TheMotleyFool will lock up. Need to completely close as it locks up with a message stating “try again later”. Need to use web interface to add to watch lists

Crashes often
So frustrating when they recommend a stock and then you can’t track it on their app. Makes no sense. And they just push push push you to buy more from them……I’d pay for things if TheMotleyFool would work!

Trying to get a response to a simple question - where do I find the 10 foundational stocks? This is the only reason I paid for the membership, but unfortunately it’s nowhere to be found and they don’t respond to messages on anything. But they sure do keep sending twice/day upsells to sign up for their higher priced programs.

TheMotleyFool makes it hard to find the basic information users want to read, such as information about the companies recommended.
Also, when opening articles in the news section, the wrong article gets opened.
Finally, the UI is ugly, not user friendly, and difficult to use.

Somehow got the fonts of articles stuck in 26 point size, and although there is a slider in the About section, no effect, nor does deleting TheMotleyFool and resinstalling it. Recommendation dates in the summary don’t align to those under the various services. Filters seem to be less funtional than in the prior revision - i.e. seeking this cap with a dividend sorted by Quant 5Y, etc. I remain hopeful things will improve. Fool On!

iPhone 15 Pro Max with latest software. Playing back your podcast is an experiment in patience. Starts over randomly, if you move the position slider to go back to previous marker the screen swipes away and the podcast stops and restarts again. It’s very painful trying to get through one episode without interruption. Hopefully you’re aware and addressing.

Sometimes it doesn’t finish opening past the Home Screen and I have to close it and reopen.

Please dial down on the brightness of the splash screen - especially when TheMotleyFool is operating in dark mode.

It is so bright that when I am using my phone the in the dark I have to close my eyes until the splash screen disappears and TheMotleyFool loads.

While this feature could be highly useful, the number of stocks i can identify in the iphone app for the portfolio seems strictly limited to about 10 to 15 stocks. Why doesnt TheMotleyFool let me add and show stocks beyond this short roster?

Also please offer a tutorial on alert setting. TheMotleyFool mentions functionality but doesn’t seem to let me set stock alerts from the app.

What’s the point in sending email notifications if it doesn’t open TheMotleyFool ? I can either go online and login to read the article or not find it on TheMotleyFool where I’m already logged in.

I like TheMotleyFool overall but it would be nice if you could connect your brokerage account similar to what Yahoo finance does to keep a better overview of your investment in one app.

Problems I found

I get notices from analysts as a headline, then when I click on the headline the story disappears

The headlines are not archived anywhere in TheMotleyFool and they disappear

Motley Fool Live drops often

Replays of Motley Fool Live shows is inconsistent. I live in the West Coast and since the shows start at 6 am Pacific Time I often look for the replays. Problems:
1) the time when replays are available is inconsistent and is not scheduled or announced anywhere
2) sometimes the replays are not there at all. For example recently I was looking for Friday replays on a weekend and all that came up was Thursday not Friday replays

Enjoy TheMotleyFool . Easy to follow or unfollow stocks, quick links to news articles/items for those stocks.
Spot to improve is searching for/access to featured or special reports such as those designed to attract new members. If you’re a current member, you can’t find them even if it’s for a service you currently subscribe to such as Stock Advisor.

I still love the Website much better and I have found glitches in the application.
Example a few stocks that were recommended to sell, when I used the application to remove them from my portfolio it said it worked but it didn’t; I had to go to the desktop site to actually remove them from my portfolio.
As far as watching videos or getting some updates quickly it is easily a 5+.

With improvements, TheMotleyFool will be a useful tool. My biggest issue is that MF Live is often not activated and information updated before events start. I then have to go to the internet to access MF content.

Had an issue where articles from notifications wouldn’t load for me. That issue has since been resolved. Haven’t noticed any other bugs

Been using their services for 3+ years now…… it’s definitely helped my portfolio and mindset on how the beat the market. Was pleasantly surprised to see an app version about a month ago by chance. Being in a food business, checking emails and desktop version of the sight could be cumbersome sometimes. Now with alerts throughout the day from TheMotleyFool it has simplified my investing goals. Fool on!

So glad there is an app now. So far I love it!

I am ecstatic that The Motley Fool has finally created an app! I can’t believe you guys haven’t made a larger announcement about this. It’s amazing and is one of the reasons I will be a Fool services subscriber for years to come in addition to the great analysis you put out.

MF’s posts and articles help stay ahead of the investment curve. Worth every dollar.

I downloaded TheMotleyFool when it was first released.

It offered many things and glitches were quickly resolved.

Each additional feature makes TheMotleyFool an even bigger delight to use.

I use TheMotleyFool every day for information, insight and entertainment.

Title speaks for itself. TheMotleyFool is so clean and is a pleasure to use. Especially when paired with my Motley Fool services!

Very easy to use. Loads of great info and insights. Ability to set up multiple portfolios to track progress. Would like to see them add the ability to track potential portfolios by allowing me to enter a mock purchase date to see how a portfolio might have performed.

TheMotleyFool was what I had been waiting on the Motley Fool to release. It makes it much easier to watch analyst videos and read articles. I also love the portfolio section where I can keep track of everything I own and it shows me news directly related to those stocks.
