My school uses this as their preferred method of receiving payment from their students (they’re a trade school so technically all their students are their own businesses by the end) because of an accidental miss click I was forced into creating an account and more or less I can’t get out of it which has made me late in paying my school tuition for the semester.

I HAVE WORK TOMORROW! I can’t afford to be up at 3AM worrying about if I’m going to be able to continue going to school because this stupid app doesn’t have a way to go back and pay as guest after!
I need to pay my tuition! I need to go to school so I can get a better job! I can’t be playing around with an AI that only knows 3 things and can’t help beyond that because of a failed payment and them locking the stupid account their app more or less locked me into!

If you want a good site make it easier to deactivate or go back to pay as a guest rather than HAVING to pay as business to business! Or better yet, don’t have the button to sign up anywhere near the ‘pay as guest’ button if you’re just going to force people to lock in!

Unfortunately, you shouldn’t trust overtly positive reviews because Melio is paying its customers to write reviews.

The real review is that you can never be sure that Melio will actually make the payment on your behalf, because they don’t have sophisticated enough technology to determine whether a payment went through. We had money sitting in Melio’s accounts (presumably earning Melio interest), while they claimed the payment to the vendor was completed. Finally, after we incurred late penalties from our vendor, Melio decided that the money was lost and canceled the transaction. It took another several weeks to get the money traced and refunded to us.

Sending money is supposed to be their core competency, but since they don’t have that - they are just paying for positive reviews I suppose.

I signed up for Melio with my business and sent my first payment on 6/29. It was rejected because they did not believe it was a business to business payment. I was not too surprised by this based on the terms and conditions and the fact that the vendor is a sole proprietorship. I thought not a big deal I will email customer service and provide whatever proof they need to get it resolved. On 7/7 I finally get a response but they could not investigate because I had already deleted the payment. At this point I had already found an alternative payment service. Sounds like it would be a great service if it works but why wait 7 days when there are better alternatives.

The most basic functionality you would expect to be consistent with their website is not. Want to pay a bill on its due date? Nope. Not in this version. You have the option to pay it fast for a fee, the next available date for free, and that’s it. Oh wait - there a place to select a date! Just kidding. That’s just a “withdrawal date”, not a “pay by” date. Want to include the invoice number on the bill you synced from quickbooks in the payment note to vendor like the website does by default? Sorry. Not yet. Makes no sense. Guys. Get it together. What’s the point of releasing a beta app to version 1.2 without the most basic functionalities like this?

I contacted Support multiple times to no avail. Even the support email at the Bottom of the email to email questions to did not work. I received a message back it was an unmonitored email box. The Chat widget provided no help and would not provide me with a direct person for assistance after requesting it multiple times. I also placed a support ticket via the portal and did not receive a reply via my account portal. I understand support is hard and can be overwhelming; however this can only be classified as poor. Ideally I get a response by providing this feedback and the facts of my experience. Let’s see.

Customer in good standing since 2019. In late 2023 I get a new credit card from Capital One. I learn Capital One has a partnership with Melio, fantastic I confirm payment intention in advance with Melio and Capital One. AOK to proceed. Payments are submitted but never arrive. I eventually dig deep to discover payments failed. There were no emails saying there was a problem with payment. Even signing into my Melio account, no notification. Further discover my account was disabled and no one will tell me why. Email, live chat and calls (arranged through Capital One) all say wait form compliance to respond. Months passed and no word from Compliance. The refuse to tell me what happened. One person said they could not verify my account, yet it is the same business, same EIN, same address since the start. This is not right.

We have been using Melio to invoice and receive payments from clients for many years and have had nothing but a positive experience.

I was happy to hear that an iOS app was released. It was my hope that we could send invoices, reminders, and check on the status of scheduled payments to our company. But at this time, it looks like MelioBusinessPayments is limited to only those who are making payments. I am hopeful that MelioBusinessPayments will be updated in the future with the functionality I mentioned above. As it stands now, it’s just a blank screen for us, since we don’t use Melio for sending payments (the only outflow of money in our organization is to our 1099 contractors, which is sent using ACH or Wire transfer via our Mercury bank account).

As a small business owner, Melio has completely changed the way we manage invoices and payments for the better. MelioBusinessPayments helps us get a summary of vendors at a glance. We can add invoices by scanning them or adding them manually which saves us time in making a payment to the vendor. Use of Face ID for login is very much welcome! Looking forward to have more features added for receiving a payment as well.

Melio seemed too good to be true when someone first told me about it. I’d been paying huge fees just to get paid from my clients every single invoice I sent out. And now it’s saved me literally hundreds of dollars because it’s free with an ACH payment! No hidden fees, no cost to use their services. They make their money through cc payments. I LOVE it! I use it every invoice now. I love that I can send invoices through MelioBusinessPayments now too. I’d love to be able to see what status the invoices I sent are in on MelioBusinessPayments too so I hope they add that soon. Thanks, Melio! I recommend you to everyone!

We own a small business, and Melio is a great option for us when working with and paying vendors because it seems like there’s never one way to do it. Some banks charge fees because we’re a business or require a ton of setup, and it’s good to have another option when making online payments.
