This app is AWESOME!

I have been using VersifyApp for a short time now (maybe two weeks or less), and I have already been able to memorize more than I ever thought I would in this period of time! It is so exciting to have such a great tool to memorize the Word of God! Thank you for making VersifyApp!

One thing I suggest- there is currently no built-in function for reviewing previously memorized passages. I’ve used an app before that caused passages that had been memorized a long time ago to begin to turn yellow (for “needs review”, instead of green for “memorized”). Something like this would be a great way to help people remember and organize what passages might need to be touched up on and re-looked at, especially if people memorize a lot of different passages and don’t know how to organize what passages might need review. I’m happy to answer any questions about this:)

Thank you SO MUCH for VersifyApp! I am so grateful!

Helpful beyond my wildest imagination

Wow. VersifyApp really does not look like much, but Goliath didn’t think David looked like much either. It has helped me to memorize many verses because it does a great job of breaking it into parts and then building it up. One drawback I’ve seen of VersifyApp is that as of the moment it only has KJV and ESV translations, but I use ESV on the daily so it has been extra beneficial in that regard. Another drawback is the “needs practice feature”, which takes a verse you have already got 100% memorized and turns it red to make to go back and do an activity on that one verse. I understand the idea behind it but I recite these in my head throughout the day and so when I log onto VersifyApp at night to learn a new one it’s annoying to see something I went through multiple times in the day “need practice”. Maybe the option to toggle that off would be a good addition, as well as other translations. Otherwise, it’s a great app with easily a 5-Star potential.

Really like this application as is… but think it has even more potential!

Summary: If you are wanting to grow in remembering scripture this is a great option. If you download and find it helpful, go support the application on GoFund Me. As far as I can tell as long as the community is growing and they have the necessary funds, this application is only going to continue to get better.

Pros:
* Best UI I have seen for an app in this genre
* Memory games, and procedure interesting. I think this is a clever system. For example initially just reading the verse gives progress towards memorization, but eventually it stops giving you progress and you are forced to move on to the next exercise.
* VersifyApp is very intuitive and easy to use.
* Active developers and growing community. Some other memory verse apps have not been touched for YEARS.

Things I would like to see in the future:
* Ability to edit verses or text (This also opens up the option for custom decks like books of the Bible or catechisms)
* Sub Folders that can be placed under parent categories.
* Ability to mark a verse as memorized without jumping through hoops. Some of us are coming from other applications or have memorized elsewhere. This is a big one. Sometimes you just want to use an app like this to help you stay on top of verses you haven’t reviewed in awhile.

The best.

I’ve never been good at memorizing scripture, enemy tries to stop me. I have a few other verse memory apps but THIS ONE?! I already have learned several I knew most of, and the entirety of Psalms 1 & 2, word for word. I’d usually stumble or take forever to get them out with a few mistakes but I could confidently recite them now. Remembering references was something I didn’t focus on as much (oddly) but the flash cards are perfect for this too.
I will say, I would love to have all my verses on this one app…. All in one place. Being able to have both KJV/ESV verses and being able to sort the verses by completed, in bible order, and last practiced would make it even better. If that’s possible

Couldn’t recommend enough.
God bless.

Love!

I love versify! It has been such a good way to go back to things I was working on. My one issue is when it punishes me for messing up, haha. Of course, the point is to memorize and memorize completely. But also I do not want to treat memorizing scripture like a game, and get upset when I mess up. Specifically because there is times when I simply hit the wrong button (when using type) or I will click the next letter in a word rather the first letter. Because it is pretty unnatural to type the first letter of every word! I just don’t enjoy the feeling when it buzzes and turns red, because it feeling like I am being punished. This is when I type “God sent his spirit” instead of “God has sent his the spirit”. When memorizing scripture those grammar things that change between translations anyway do not feel super important. This is a small thought, otherwise LOVE. I use it almost everyday.

Great Start, Would Like a Couple More Features

VersifyApp is very nice - I like that there are 3 options to learn and practice each verse or passage - line by line, fill in the blank, and type the first letter. My only real complaint is that if you have one verse already memorized, like John 3:16, and then you add an adjacent verse, like John 3:17, VersifyApp does not automatically give the option to link the two into a single passage, like John 3:16-17. At present, this can be overcome by manually deleting the two separate verses and then adding them back as a single passage. The other thing that might be helpful is a sorting option to list memorized passages either alphabetically or by biblical order, so it’s easier to find specific passages to practice. As noted by other reviewers, all verses are in the ESV. Overall, I really like VersifyApp , and I hope that future updates will make it even better!

Best Bible memory app

I have tried a few different Bible memory apps and I didn’t really stick with any of them but Versify is by far my favorite and the best app to memorize the Bible. It costs nothing extra like some of the other try to make you do. Versify has a great system to discover new verses for different topics and even has a section of most popular verses. It is the most effective Bible memory app by making you reach a certain score through different games to then take a test at the need to show your mastery of the verse. However if you mess up it knocks your score down which is great. VersifyApp is also not boring too look at like some of the others. Overall, great app to memorize Bible verses

Great app!

1 - it is not super easy. I think it’s a little too hard for me, since it’s hard to push the exact right key every word. But that helps me learn better.
2 - there are absolutely no ads, or even a plus version. This makes it easier to concentrate on more important things. (Like Bible verses)
3 - It lets you know when you haven’t practiced a passage for a while. This way I don’t have to keep track of it myself.
4 - If I want to find a verse based on a mood that I want (love, anger, contentment), it is easy to find the topic I want, and I can pick a good verse to memorize from there.
5 - VersifyApp has great graphics. It is not an weird old app. Whoever designed it did a satisfying job.

Wonderful

Thank you for making VersifyApp. I’m definitely going to contribute. I’ve struggled my whole life with memorizing scripture and mostly not done so because it was so hard for me. VersifyApp really makes a difference because of the different ways the verses are presented. Thank you. One thing I would ask for in future updates would be: could you add an additional optional topic field for each verse to be memorized. I think this would help me to remember the references which is the hardest part for me. So for example I could put in “Greatest Commandment” in for Mark 12:30. This would also be a great way to sort memorized verses for later review.

Really good

I have tried and paid for other Scripture memory apps, and I like this one a lot. It’s simple, flexible and aesthetically pleasing. I took a star for limited functionality, but the functions it does offer are all great. It is currently limited to the ESV but that’s the version I memorize in anyway so not a big deal for me, however I feel bad for others who cannot use this wonderful little app since it doesn’t offer other versions. Also I really appreciate that VersifyApp is free, however I like to support (one-time payments, not subscriptions) developers who make quality products so I hope they are doing ok financially and will continue to be able to update VersifyApp . If it had a widget, it’d be five stars.

So Well Done!!

VersifyApp is 5 stars accross the board. As a graphic designer I look at more than just the purpose of VersifyApp (scripture memorization) but also the user experience. It’s so enjoyable, simple and intuitive to navigate VersifyApp and it’s beautiful aesthetically too. You actually want to spend time in VersifyApp because of the design which in turn makes you learn more scripture!! It’s just the right amount of gamification. My literal only critique is that I wish the memorization games included the scripture reference so I can make sure to learn the verse in connection with the location in the Bible. Thank you for VersifyApp!!

Please add the book/chapter/verse!

I really love VersifyApp. It is super helpful for me in remembering my scripture. What I have found over time is that I remember the verse, but not where to find it! VersifyApp would be a 10/10 if they would just add the book/chapter/verse info at the end of each memory tool. For example: “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 - having the “Romans 6:23” as a part of the memory tool is ESSENTIAL. Otherwise all I can do is rattle off scripture but I can’t tell you where to find it or where it came from. Also, because there is no book/chapter/verse memory requirement, the flash cards are useless because I can never remember what verse goes to what book/chapter/verse.

Would love more translations

Really great concept and functionality! I never write reviews, but this is a wonderful tool and will make memorizing a lot easier. I would personally love to see more translations, as I prefer the New American Standard version. It would also be cool if there was a way to add friends and join in friendly competition/share verses with one another! Of course, that leads to more issues with accounts and data protection, so that’s a large request. But something functionality wise like fitbit back in the day. Excellent job!

BEST MEMORIZATION APP

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I have been so impressed by VersifyApp. I have a difficult time memorizing verses and I have been on the search for an app to help me out. VersifyApp is so easy to use and understand. Additionally, VersifyApp makes it fun to memorize verses. The best memorization app I have tried out yet! Thank you for encouraging me to store Gods word in my heart. The only thing that I would change is maybe an option to switch bible versions. I have already memorized some verses in NIV and wanted to review them, but they are a little off. Otherwise, completely amazing!!

Really great app and free?

VersifyApp seems to me like a labor of love for God’s word and God’s people. As far as I can tell it’s simply a free app, yet well designed and helpful to memorize scripture. The various methods VersifyApp offers are intuitive and helpful, from flash cards to fill in the blank to typing the first letter of each word in the verse. Thank you for making this, it is helping me memorize scripture, I’m grateful for your generosity to develop and release VersifyApp for free! That is a kind gift and I hope many use VersifyApp, I will be sharing it with my friends!

So good…

I really love VersifyApp! In just a month it has already helped me learn more verses and actually retain them than the past three years combined. I love the simplicity, clean interface, and it just works well- I haven’t had any bugs or issues at all!
Thank you so much for VersifyApp and the help it is to get the Word into my heart!
The only thing I would like to see is the ability to make folders or groups of passages, either by memorization status or however else someone would like to categorize them, because without it the list of passages you’ve memorized becomes pretty unwieldy.

Best memorization app

I really enjoy VersifyApp, i like that it helps me memorize verses for keeping my mind in perfect peace, having strength, strengthening my relationship with God, deepening my faith, and having defense against the enemy via the Sword of the Spirit, aka the Word. The only thing I think someone might dislike is that it includes only kjv and esv, but I prefer the kjv and try to only read that translation so I don’t mind it. For a free app though that helps you memorize the Word of God i think it is amazing and very good. Praise Jesus🙌🏻✝️💯

More difficult test

One thing that I would also like is a more difficult test also that would be to write out the entire verse, rather than just the first letter of each word, along with the reference to where it is located in the Bible. And maybe even once verses get to 100% have some kind of test that just gives the reference of one of all memorized verses, and have to know it right away out of all possible verses. But even without things like these this is still very helpful with Bible verse memorization.

No More Excuses!

I always had an excuse for not memorizing scripture (I don’t want a complicated memorization app, I don’t want to pay, it isn’t easy) VersifyApp helps so much. It is a very simple app but amazing functionality. It’s totally free with no ads. And it makes it easy to memorize verses. I wish there were more translations to choose from (currently only ESV and KJV). As someone who mainly uses ESV, that isn’t too much of a problem. Overall very good app that will help you memorize scripture.

All this for free??

I downloaded several scripture memory apps to see which one I liked best. The most popular one asked me for $10 before I even got started, and an additional $10 to use ESV! I left that one and tried Versify. Wow, it’s so well designed and easy to use! It’s exactly what I wanted, and never asked for money! I donated $5 to the developer as a thanks for such a good app, and I’ll be getting it set up for my kids to use as well!

Thank you, developers!

Great for memorization

Since I’ve downloaded Versify, I’ve been able to memorize verses I never thought I’d have the time or the ability to. It’s simple and streamlined for people just trying to add verses to their memory. The Test feature really pushes you to make sure you know the scripture by heart. One thing, I wish Versify had though was the ability to add friends, in order to compare high scores and to simply memorize scripture together. But also, to add more versions of the bible (NKJV, NASB, other languages, etc.) would be a huge plus. This would make my rating 5 stars.

Awesome tool for memorizing God’s word

I recently picked up an old set of Scripture memory cards that I had used back when I first became a believer. After sorting through them and reviewing some of the verses on those cards, I said to myself: “This is a great way to memorize Scripture, but I can’t help but wonder whether there is an app that would help me to memorize more effectively and keep all those verses better organized.” Then I looked in VersifyApp Store and found “Versify”, and since then I have come to realize that it is a GREAT tool to memorize God’s word, and it’s FUN to use. I’m very thankful for it.

SO FUN AND HELPFUL

I love this game, there were other apps that literally made me pay for the version i like to read… so annoying. But this ones free! I love it so much and ive already memorized a lot just after one day of having it. I dont usually leave reviews but i love VersifyApp. Get it if you want to memorize scripture EASY!!

One thing id LOVE to see in the future is more categories! Theres another app that i didnt like as much as this called “Verses” but had one feature i loved! There were more categories and for example, one category was called “proclaiming Christ” and had all the scriptures you should memorize for when you want to share the Gospel. I would love to see more and more of that on VersifyApp!!

Great app, God bless!!

Great app, just needs more features.

I use VersifyApp almost everyday and love it. VersifyApp overall has a solid design and easy-to-learn UI. The features that are part of VersifyApp are solid and work well. I personally would just like to see some more games and features. Here are some suggestions you can have for free:

1. On the “Type” game, I find it a little annoying when, by mistake, I tap the key next to the correct key and I get penalized for it. Could you add an “auto-correct” feature, and help a fat-thumbed brother out?

2. A game where the verse you’re memorizing is scrambled, and the objective is to put the words back in the correct order.

3. It’d be nice if the sorting feature on the selection page gave you the ability to sort by more than one filter. I’d like to sort by “Needs Practice” within a custom folder, not just all the passages.

4. A page on the main screen that tracks progress of each passage on a graph (Yes, I am a bit of a nerd).

Like I said, it’s a great app, and I’ll be using it for a long time to come!

Excellent for elderly

I just memorized Isaiah 41:10 sitting here while my husband is watching football. At 69 years old that is no small feat. I love how you have 3 sections of practice that you can do over and over until you reach 80 points and then you can test yourself. Believe me I had to do these sections 20 times or more to finally get 100%. The practice sessions help with your memorization by giving you as much help as you need if you are struggling. You can adjust the support as your memory increases and you are confident and ready to test by reaching 80 pts. Love VersifyApp. I finally can memorize scriptures again!!

App is Outstanding and Clean!

I love how modern VersifyApp looks and how many different ways to learn and how many different translations it’s expanded to have! I recommend to every believer I know!

Feature Requests:
- Satisfying sounds when completing a lesson (Duolingo gives me a little dopamine kick when I complete a lesson haha)
- Daily streaks + notifications to maintain the streak (this would help people stay committed to remembering verses). I think it should be optional though since a good number of people wouldn’t want the push notifications
