If it didn't crash all the time I'd like it

Laudate works great with voiceover. I can give it that. However, when I try to go in to say some 51 in the confessions area it crashes when I try to go into daily prayer in the daily prayer area it crashes everything I try to do on Laudate it seems to crash I'm going to try to uninstall and reinstall all I click Laudate support page button here and was taken to a blog I really should've been taken to an email address message set up so I could send my problem to Laudate developer not their blog 2+ one it with Google yeah I have a Google account yeah I would +18 because yeah I like Laudate and it's designed for voiceover because it doesn't have very many unlabeled buttons that I've found so far but you should really rethink your app support button and I hope I hope because I had my diagnostic stuff turned on you get my crash logs today you should get my crash logs today if everything goes right I hope you have developers are getting my crash logs so I'm going to uninstall and reinstall and see if it on breaks and I think I'll raise my writing from one start of something else I know this is a long with you and honestly there should be a button that says Catholicism for beginners in Laudate for people like me I'm not a Catholic I'm just trying to learn about the face and yeah I don't know where to turn so I'm turning here because my friend recommended Laudate I just hope I find stuff for beginners

Not a reliable Catholic reference

this app looks like a great scriptural resource but there are hidden errors. For one it scrapes the text for Liturgy of the Hours from the Universalis web site without giving due credit or explanation. Even removing identification notice from the Universalis page.

Far worse, this app uses text from an unreliable Blog page for commentary on the Daily Readings of Sacred Scripture. There have been several instances of the Blogger inserting accolades to famous politicians and celebrities under the guise of being “fruits” of the works of some Saint. But these noted persons are not Catholic, do not lead exemplary lives and in fact many of them are immoral, atheists, and support abortion. Who is this Blogger? They are not identified in their Blog site. No indication of their religious affiliation, qualifications for scriptural commentary nor which parish or organization they are affiliated with, if any.

This pattern of errors and lack of transparency and authority is a grave danger to those seeking a resource for learning about and worshipping with the true Catholic faith. Please use Universalis app or web page directly or many other apps such as iBreviary that use reliable Catholic sources. And they will clearly identify those sources and give due credit and/or permissions.

Misaligned with Catholic Church teachings

I used to love Laudate and have now deleted it. The content in the daily Bible verse comes from SeekFirst which is just one person’s blog site. No information provided on it who the blogger is, their affiliation with any Catholic community or scriptural authority. Out of all the amazing resources for scriptural commentary this app chose this blog?! It is a great app but sadly corrupt on its resources. I did verify in Laudate for Jan 27 they say the fruits of this saint’s works are Angela Merkel (East German so likely atheist), Margaret Thatcher (Protestant), Kamala Harris (promiscuous very supportive of abortion). Teresa of Avila is thrown in there. Since they were contemporaries but separated by distance (Spain and Italy) I doubt Saint Angela Merici had much impact on Saint Teresa forging her way in the Church. Saint Teresa was a force of her own nature subjugated to the will of God.
When contacted for comment this app has not expressed or shown any change to vet resources and content to be aligned with Catholic Church teaching except for a bland “for those that choose to delete Laudate were sad to see you go” and a wishy washy message of needing to unite. They simply are uniting with the wrong ways and thinking and a gross misrepresentation of the Catholic Church.

Deleting after years of use

It is inexplicable for any Catholic publication to write something that not only glorifies Kamala Harris, but even compares her to one of the most famous and revered Saints. But this is exactly what happened in a recent daily reflection piece published by Laudate. Which means that either the writer and/or editor has a political agenda, or it was missed in a review, either of which is unacceptable.

I’ve lost count of how many people I’ve recommended Laudate to, and recently I even installed it on my 9 year old’s iPad because it had a nice “examen for kids” to prepare for confession. However, after this piece I can no longer trust or support Laudate. I’m deleting, and will recommend to my Catholic friends that they do the same.

I will also pray that Kamala Harris and the writer who chose to bring personal political views into a piece intended for spiritual reflection have a change of heart. Abortion is wrong, and a faithful Catholic cannot support such a practice, nor the politicians who enable it.

Best friend for busy person

I try to listen to the daily readings every day, by the podcast, so I can listen without having to put on contacts or glasses. I love to listen to the pray as you go podcast as I finish breakfast and sip my coffee or tea. I really miss it when I don’t get to do this, I just feel like when I do, I am more focused and centered in my everyday life and work. I appreciate the this app site, and often write letters to God that I read back later on, and see how God has fixed a problem, or sent a person that changed a situation for the better. God doesn’t give me everything I want, but he turns negative events into ways I can glorify him. Thank God for these opportunities, and thank you this app, for keeping me grounded in my faith even when I’m too busy to attend daily Mass.

Great App Until last Upgrade

I have loved Laudate for several years and use it daily as a source for prayers, daily readings and following Mass when I can’t hear them through the church’s sound system.

You lost a star after this last upgrade, however, because now when I go to the Dailey readings, I get a headline of several. Would be great if that choice worked but it doesn’t! When I click on either choice, I get a 503 error message that the choice is not available. Not even the scripture is listed.

Now I have to find some other source for the daily readings. You ruined a great app!

UPDATED: Like this app again

UPDATED: Checked back on a hunch & the issue with the Daily Readings page has been fixed. Changing my rating from 1 star to 5 stars. Thank you!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
(original 1-star review):
Don’t know what happened to the Daily Readings page. Suddenly it’s gone, replaced with a link to USCCB website, where “registration” is required to supposedly get access to daily readings — except after registering, there’s still no access. Our local parish is posting a live Mass feed on Facebook during COVID-19 quarantine, but the audio is terrible, so I just figured at least I could read along. Nope. Regretfully deleting the this app app.

Treasure

Laudate is a treasure chest simply for the reason that it contains practically everything necessary for Catholics and non-Catholics Christians who choose to walk the path of Ecumenism (I perceive Ecumenism as a powerful tool for conversion). Accessibility through communications technology makes Laudate a perfect convenience, especially because of the increasingly fast pace of daily living which easily distracts all Christians who desire deeper intimacy with Our Lord Jesus Christ and duty to engage in the building of the Kingdom of God. Laudate can also serve to help us from becoming “lukewarm” in our duty and dedication to the truths of the Gospels and resulting in deeper participation in the mysteries of our Faith. Thank you for this most comprehensive and valuable application.

Recently some disturbing issues with app

I used to love Laudate but recently, people like Kamala Harris (being compared to our Blessed Mother in her “yes”) and Bill Gates being admired for things have become truly disturbing to me. Many people tried to contact the developer thinking it was hacked or something, but for some it didn’t work and another friend got a response that they wouldn’t change it. For that I’m giving a 2 star and deleting. I really don’t like this cancel culture we live in, but I have young children who often use Laudate and I would hate for them to get confused. Catholics should not support people that are pro abortion among other anti catholic things. I really dislike how sneaky Laudate tried to add these things in.

Love this app!

Laudate has been instrumental in helping me develop a richer prayer life as I grow in faith! There are so many excellent resources within Laudate!! The only thing I wish for is the ability to re-order the prayers I have bookmarked. I use the Bookmarks list as my prayer list (after the Rosary) every day. As the Spirit prompts from time to time, I change which ones I am praying. If I want to change the order, I have to remove the whole list and rebuild it in the order I need. If I could instead move the prayers within the list, that would be so helpful. Thank you for Laudate!!

Use it every day

The new icons do not look half as good as the dark icons used to. Maybe consider changing those back.

Otherwise Laudate is fantastic. I use it to listen to the readings from Mass every day during my morning commute. I usually also catch the Benedictus Moments meditation for the day. Super convenient. I love that they also added reflections from the Servants of the Word... Solid guys.

One suggestion for improvement, let's get even more Spanish in the content, including Spanish audio recordings of the daily Mass readings of the day.

A Treasure Trove

Laudate deserves 5 stars for content. Thank-you for this wonderful trove of prayers, scriptures, media, and other information. May Our Lord bless you for it. The design needs some work though. The menu needs streamlining and improved organization. The search function shouldn’t be in the middle of the stack view. The bookmark function would be better placed on the navigation bar. Some of the defaults for the rosary are irritating and changing not readily apparent to a novice. Sorry to criticize. A little bit more interface design work would go a long way.

Had Been Supporting Abortion

this app had been saying that Kamala Harris should be honored even though she is pro-abortion. So I gave a one star review. But as of today it looks like they have removed the Kamala Harris - and Angela Merkel - references So, for now I’m going to reward this app by giving a better review.

Below is part of my original review which I’m going to leave up for a while. “Sadly, Laudate has recently started supporting abortion. It glorifies Kamala Harris, Bill Gates, and Steve Jobs. I’m praying that they remove these endorsements.

There are other apps. Laudate “iPieta” has great functionality.”

The most used app on my phone!

I love Laudate is a must have companion in my walk with our Lord Jesus Christ. I love the daily readings, reflections, daily bible verse and Saint is the Day. Two things I would really like to see is a more visible general search of the whole app and better organisation of prayers so you can easily find, mark and return to favourites. Laudate together the Bible app give me all the resources I need on a daily basis! Thank you God for Laudate and my prayers for all the developers and those responsible for it’s content and upkeep. Please give them all your continued graces, inspiration and wisdom.

Used to love it but now weary

I used to love Laudate so much and in truth I still do. I used it daily! That is until I read the daily bible verse reflection from “seek first community” one day, and it was comparing bill gates to God, likening him to God himself, a man who says he is an atheist and doesn’t believe in God, and supports abortion as well. I looked on the seek first community page and it’s AWFUL- the responses to complaints were completely out of line and not at all christian-like. I want to use the this app app but do not want any content from “seek first community”. So I deleted Laudate and most people I know did as well, when they saw this. I want to put it back on my phone and use it again! Please please cut ties with “seek first community”.

Best from God

I‘ve never written a review....Reading several of these reviews prompted me to do so. I write the following with the most respect to all. ALL apps will have some kind of problem, please understand. This is one of the The best and most precious Apps we have as a resource. The People working on this... work very hard and non of us has acknowledged this. As some mentioned... this is a Treasure and pray it will continue for a long time. Trouble? Simply send them an e-mail how hard is that 🙏🏼 Blessings

Catechism Search Needs Improvement

I’ve used the Bible and the Rosary and they were great but I just used the Catechism for the first time and it was very frustrating. I did a search and a very long list consisting of many pages appeared. After I read the first item and pressed the back arrow to select the next one, it did not take me back to the list. I actually had to do the Search all over again. I did that a few times but it was not worth all of the trouble so I gave up.

Thank you!

I love the Pray As You Go podcast, the Meditation podcast, and the Benedictus moments.

However, I am definitely not a fan of the Daily Bread podcast. It’s hokey, corny, and cringeworthy. I have tried many times to like it, but I always shut it off within the first few minutes. Tell them to just stop. Do not podcast it.

Update: I have changed my mind about the Daily Bread podcast. Having listened to it for the past two days, I find it to be valuable, illuminating, heartfelt, and authentic. Forgive my offensive comments.

My Go To for Catholic Prayers, Catechesis, etc

I love Laudate. I’ve been using it since I went through RCIA in 2014. I’ve used it to help me learn prayers and devotions, such as the Rosary. Also, the daily readings and the Liturgy of the Hours. There are various podcasts available as well.

One glitch lately has been the link to the USCCB website for the daily readings audio. It hasn’t worked the last 2 days so I’ve gone to their website directly to hear the readings podcast.

Love this app

My husband and I say prayer together every morning. First we use the liturgy of the hours invitatory, then we follow with morning prayer. What we unable to do, but now can because of this app is add any prayers we want and store them under the my prayers section. You can add many under one title as well as add multiple titles to serve what ever need you have. It is great for storing pray requests. We also store the Pope’s monthly prayer intentions for the year by month and many more. We love the flexibility. Thank you so much this app!

App shuts off when viewing Today's Saints.

Previously:
I wish Forward worked and Share did so more cleanly->>

->> As it is now Forward does not work, and Share also sends line after line of what I think is the CSS language that defines the presentation in Laudate .

However, that being said, I find that Laudate is beautifully constructed, and as a returning Catholic whose parents had their children baptized but never confirmed, I feel as if I am coming back into contact with the fullness of the LORD, and his Church as I felt as a young child before life turned so terribly tragic after my parents turned away and into what I call 'Young Moderns', and acted like had all the answers without any church at all.

What happened then, divorce, alcoholism, house full of cigarette smoke, no concern for childhood education and counseling. Well I've said too much ; but it was all by way of telling you how very important I consider your App.

Thank-you to all involved who had a hand, heart, or mind in developing this app for myself, and every other person who benefits by it, who may not have the ability to thank you in writing. Let me please offer that from them to you!

Laudate is a jewel of an app!

I love Laudate! The meditations are wonderful and it lets me start
My day basking in the Light of Christ! I highly recommend Laudate for any serious Catholic or Christian looking to follow the Lord more closely. I am going to tell all my close friends and family members who I know would also love Laudate!

I use it every day

Best spiritual app on Laudate Store right now. I use the "bible app" when I want to read and research certain areas of the Bible (plus I like the daily scripture and programs features); however this app I use as a consistent spiritual guide. Mostly seamless integration allows me to read and pray over the daily readings, learn about the lives and teachings of great saints, and learn more about my faith trough the prayer assistance. I have become a better person no doubt through this apps help.

A Wonderful App

I use Laudate every day, and I love it. There are so very many areas and means to help you pray and meditate. I love the prayer section. There really isn't anything about Laudate that I don't like. Unlike some of the others, I have no problems with crashes. For me, this has been an incredibly stable app. Even if it were to start crashing I would still use it; the content is that good. I cannot recommend Laudate too strongly.

Everything in One Place

I’m still exploring Laudate, and finding new reasons to use it. I’m a hard sell, having been dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century and replacing my flip phone with an iPhone. The fact that it contains an entire Bible, along with so much more, amazed me. It was a little buggy when I first installed it, but it never crashed. Its developers keep improving its performance. I would be sad if I had to give it up now.

Needs a different Rosary feature!

My friend has the galaxy version and on this version there’s another rosary mode in which you simply scroll through the prayers and mysteries as opposed to constantly clicking and closing and following an enlarged picture of an actually rosary.
This makes it much simpler and easier to follow with the meditations. I’ve memorized the mysteries but I want the meditations along with the scripture for each mystery.

I love this app!!

This truly has been a wonderful app! It has made a great difference in my daily journey with Christ through scripture, prayer and reading about the wonderful saints of our Church. I, especially, use the daily readings podcast. I use it most everyday and when the podcast quit working, I contacted the developer, as I’m quite sure many others did, and they were quick to fix it. Thank you!!

Godsend.

I have come back to Laudate after using others for my daily devotions because for me it seems to be driven by people with humility, in and for the spirit. The sharing icon is very pale, at bottom center, but once I found it I’ve been happy to be able to share the Saints (and this app) on Facebook with perfect ease. Also, there is so much in it. My Priest said “it’s all you need” in speaking of daily devotion development.

Very much ashamed that anyone on a Catholic app would compare Bill Gates , Steve jobs or Kamala Harris to a sowers of a mustard seeds. These people are pure evil and any Catholic that supports them would have answer to God one day for it. This is Antichrist at work and we have to pray that God opens your eyes because you are blind . As long as the Communist and abortionists are promoted on this app I would never get it ! Shame on you !
