Worst app ever

It would tell me I was 20 miles away from the park when I was standing at the visitor center. It would only guide me to something when I was driving toward it. There is no search option to search a popular place in the park to figure out how close you are to it or how to get to it. You have to be driving toward it before it will ever come up and even then popular pull outs or scenes don’t show up all of the time. If you want an app that will tell you where the vault toilets are or where about 1/10 of the picnic tables are, then Parkwolf is okay. If you are wanting an app to guide you to a particular place in the park or an app that can be reliable to know where you are in the park this is not Parkwolf .

Wasn’t what I hoped at all

We gave it a try on our trip to Acadia. It really has a lot of potential, but there still a lot of glitches and details to work out. Specifically, we could not get the audio to work because it said that it was not downloaded, which it was. There’s no way to force download it like with most apps. We went to the hotel that night and tried it on Wi-Fi. Thinking that may be the issue, made no difference in the audio never worked again. the part where you can navigate to see where you’re at on the map is very helpful except it always wants to orient at this weird angle instead of straight down and when you move it it moves right back. Makes it really difficult to know where you’re at and what’s ahead of you when it’s at that slanted angle I think with some changes to include the ability to specifically download and confirm that it’s download and a few other things it would be great.

Great app!

We just visited Utah and used Parkwolf in the parks. It’s very good. The tour guide feature and map are great. The map is very helpful. There were times google did not know where we were but Parkwolf did. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is we wished there was more talking while we were driving through the parks. Even for example pointing out a mountain range in the distance. Also, keep your phone charging when using it. The battery definitely goes down quicker. Overall a great app.

Love the trivia! Still figuring everything else out

I love Parkwolf! The daily trivia is helping me learn so much about the parks we all love so much, and I like the ability to track which parks you’ve been to. But! I’m still figuring a few other things out, and I’m not a huge fan of the park listing section, as it populates the most recently viewed parks at the top, and it would make more sense to me to just keep them in alphabetical order. Otherwise, HIGHLY recommend Parkwolf, and eager to see future versions!

Parkwolf is Great For Planning Trips

I recently got the this app app to help my wife and I plan a cross-country trip, which will include several national parks. I’m impressed with the descriptions of the important sites and hikes for every park we’ll be visiting. The detailed maps have been a great help in planning our days in the parks, so we can select the best routes and I we won’t miss anything. I’ll be using this app for continued guidance throughout our trip.

Deb

We took the grandkids on a three week tour this summer. We stopped in the Badlands/Mt Rushmore area, Yellowstone, and the Tetons. The this app app was an amazing tool! I especially liked it for determining where we were going to stop. It tells you everything you need to know about each stop you might want to make. I loved how it tells you the length and difficulty of each hike too! I will use it again for future travels!

Yellowstone

I found Parkwolf very helpful, especially the way it can track our location even when offline! Very handy! Also appreciated the travel tips and descriptions included with each site.

I am having problems getting the audio feed to work. I have tried many setting, but none seem to work. Do you have any suggestions for an iPhone owner?

Park Wolf

We just visited 8 National parks in the last 3 weeks in Colorado, Utah and Arizona. The audio-tours were helpful in keeping track of upcoming sights. We enjoyed listening to the park information. The maps were great especially when we had no cell signal. They basically had the same information we found on the paper park maps. We are loving the national park trivia questions as we travel back home to Florida.

BEST National Park App!

I love Parkwolf! It’s so well put together and thought out. My husband is actually an LE Ranger for NPS and he even said Parkwolf is great, loved that it has the parks acronyms which a lot of people don’t know — example would be Yosemite is YOSE. The daily trivia questions are fun too and actually really interesting! It’s an easy app to navigate, there’s loads of info for each park, and the design is nice too. Thanks for making a great app to use on our park adventures!

Fun and useful

I love all the features on Parkwolf. The maps are really useful and handy to have on the phone. The photographs are beautiful. The suggested things to do in the national parks is a really great feature and I also love all of the animal sightings that people post. Even when I’m home sitting on the couch, I love to do the daily trivia.
We just got back from the five national parks in Southern Utah and I consulted Parkwolf every morning for things to do and roadmaps around the park.

New to the app, but great so far.

I’m brand new to Parkwolf, but it’s been great so far. I’m getting ready to head out on a road trip in a few days and will really test it out. I like the feature where you can report your sightings…wildlife, etc. and you can be notified if someone sees a particular animal, etc. that you would like to see. I do hope people will use this responsibly and observe wildlife from a distance…keep wildlife wild. I’ve also seen a few comments about places that seem to be based on folks reporting their experiences. For example, a campground that has some reports of problems with noise or management vs. campgrounds that are quieter (don’t think the forest service is going to report problems they are having with management).
So that’s it…hope to have good things to report once I really put Parkwolf to work.

First time user

We recently traveled to Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton with friends. I accidentally stumbled across this app in Parkwolf Store. What a find! It's loaded with relevant information, an interesting narrative as you enter and explore the park and is 100% available for use when your cell phones are not. That feature alone is worth it. The maps are really valuable as they are very detailed, including interesting stops and sites along the way. I would definitely recommend getting and using Parkwolf if you're headed to National Parks. While the NPS offers an app of their own, it pales in comparison to what this app has and can do for you. Two thumbs up for this one.

Great addition to any national park visit!

We have used Parkwolf for Death Valley, Yosemite, Lassen and Crater Lake. We have enjoyed the short audio clips of info from each park and always look forward to the next one. The clips are never too long or take away from the experience, they only enhance it. I have recommended Parkwolf to several of my outdoorsy friends and everyone has loved it. Looking forward to our next NP trip for the views, adventures and of course this app insight!

A Host of Great Information

Ever since I downloaded Parkwolf, I keep going back to it time and again. It lists every national park and when you click on one park, it gives you the highlights of the park, a map and all the hiking trails you could want.

One feature I have been enjoying is the Park Trivia. One question a day about a unique feature in one of the parks. I am on a streak! 4/4 😀

I think this is a great app to plan your next trip to a National Park or stringing a few together.

Your personal guide to National Parks

Parkwolf is loaded with useful and essential information on all of America's National Parks. It works offline, which can be a common issue with cellular service in our National Parks. It is also very engaging. It offers daily trivia to familiarize Parkwolf user with aspects of all of our National Parks. It allows the user to share photos of wildlife and also view wildlife taken by other users. I wouldn't attempt to navigate a National Park without Parkwolf, now that I've used it.

Trivia questions

Trivia questions challenge you to delve a little further into the history of the parks. Some I wa pretty confident and got them wrong. I got so many wrong when I did the last one, I wasn’t confident at all about my choice but it was the only one that made sense. It was correct. I enjoyed the challenge. I haven’t used any of the maps yet with the exception of Harper’s Ferry National Park. That is fairly close there has been some changes and this one seems to need a little updating.

Must have for all National Parks

Parkwolf has been amazing. We have been traveling around the country and used this at every park. Ability to download for offline use worked 100% of time unlike some other apps I have tried. All NPS maps are also on here. So nice to drive around and know exactly what is coming up, what to look for, what not to miss, as well as fun facts!! Highly recommend Parkwolf!! Wish I could give it 10 stars! Also one charge- not a charge for each park like other apps!!!

Great app for National Park fans!

Even though I haven’t yet used Parkwolf in real time in a national park, I am looking forward to using all its awesome features in September in several California parks. The maps are very detailed, and I like the fact that we can get an audio tour as we drive through the parks, pointing out overlooks, scenic landscapes, and waterfalls. It also has detailed descriptions of all the different trails and hikes, rating them as easy, moderate, or hard. Also tells you where restrooms, restaurants, lodging, and gas stations are located. I think my party will all enjoy using it!

Great app - map especially useful

Parkwolf worked great for us! Especially when we had no service in Yellowstone. We had a map and played the tour guide we named “Steve” all along the way. It also worked equally well in Zion and Grand Teton. It made the trip much more informative and easy to make our way around the park. The pins were great for planning our trip.

If I had one suggestion it would be that for Yellowstone since it’s so big, add more details so we don’t repeat statements from the tour guide. We were there a week and it began to repeat too much for our liking.

Making planning easy

I love planning trips! Especially to National Parks. Parkwolf has been super fun to use all while making the planning part easy. I love reading all about the trails I want to hike and being able to pin them for later. Having access to maps without service was a huge factor for getting Parkwolf too. I also tell everyone I know who loves adventuring about Parkwolf.
