I paid for spot 301320 for four hours on May 20 around 2.30 PM using the app. I was away from the spot for awhile and when I returned around 5.15 someone else was parked in that spot. I told them that I had paid for that spot and showed them on my phone. He said that he had booked it about twenty minutes ago and showed me his phone. We both had ongoing valid bookings for that spot at the same time. I moved to another nearby spot and the app would not let me book it (since I already had a booking with that car?) so I used the kiosk. About an hour later, after my time on spot 301320 had expired, I tried the app out of curiosity and it would have let me book it even though the other person still had time remaining on his booking. This appears to be a serious problem in the ParkDSM system - letting a second person book a spot while a currently valid booking exists for the space. It is probably not common but not rare that a person's car is not in their booked/paid-for spot 100% of the time, which is when this problem can arise. I don't know if it is related to this problem, but I have parked in that spot two times recently and neither one of them shows up in the History tab of the app. Thanks for looking into this, please let me know if I need to do something different next time.
